Anna Duggar Stuns the Internet, Actually Claps Back at Troll

Anna Duggar said nothing in public at all against husband Josh Duggar after he admitted to both the molestation of his sisters and the affairs he carried on with random women he met online. But the former reality star has now made a statement in defense of a different relative. The typically shy and private mother of five clapped back at a hater on Instagram this week, causing nearly every user of this platform to do a double take in surprise. What was it that prompted Anna to finally speak out? The ex-19 Kids and Counting cast member simply had to respond to a commenter who, oddly enough, had something to say about her nephew’s toe. “What happened to his poor toe?” someone asked in response to a photo of Jessa Duggar’s son last week. “I never saw anything about that.” Replied Anna: “His toe is just fine! Spurgeon must have bent it while taking the picture.” Hey, we didn’t say it was an epic clapback by Anna. But you gotta start somewhere! Spurgeon, of course, is the son of Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald. He has a brother named Henry and he’ll soon have another sibling, as well. “We are overjoyed that God has blessed us with a baby, due late this Spring!” Duggar said this week , adding to various outlets: “From the day we found out we were expecting, we both guessed boy, and if our predictions are right then we already have a ton the clothing and accessories ready to pass down!” Jessa also made it clear in this statement that she’d be happy to have a girl as well. Jessa has also been known herself to step up any time an Internet trolls says something about her or a loved one. Just a few days before she told the world she was expecting, Jessa put some loser in his place after this loser trolled Jessa’s young nephew, Meredith, online. Back to Anna, however: She has scarcely been in the spotlight at all ever since the many scandals surrounding her awful husband went viral. Not that we can blame her one bit for wanting to lay low for pretty much the rest of her life. However, Anna and Josh did pose together in public last fall and have started to make their social media presence a little more widly known over the last several weeks. Anna almost always just shared pictures of her kids on her page, while Josh Duggar has thankfully remained silent across the board via that medium. There had been talk at some point about him making a reality show comeback, but we haven’t heard any of that chatter in a very long time. It does appear as though even that industry has certain lines one cannot cross if it wishes to remain relevant — and inappropriately touching one’s own siblings most definitely qualifies. Jessa Duggar Sticks It to Dumb Person Who Trolled Her Niece

How many times must Jessa Duggar prove this point, Internet users? She simply is not here for any of your judgmental BS. Just a month ago, if you recall, Duggar showed some impressive snark when she clapped back at someone who mocked her family’s choice of restaurants. In response to this individual asking whether “you guys ever eat anywhere besides Marketplace Grill,” a frequent Duggar family destination in Arkansas, Jessa simply replied: No we don’t. Not exactly overly crude or rude, but Duggar actually deleted the sarcastic retort because it didn’t fit in with her clean and proper brand. Fair enough, we guess. Now, however, Jessa has once again spoken out against some troll on the Internet. And it all started with this seemingly harmless photo below: It features her son, Henry, fighting with his cousin, Meredith, over a toy and it includes a caption that reads in part: “Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Hopefully there is none of this going on at your house. “The gifts are fun, and the food’s gonna be great, but let’s not forget the reason for the season.” Jessa also shared a few Bible verses with this snapshot, but her followers were more concerned with the state of Meredith’s feet than anything else. No, really. We’re not making that up. What’s up with the dirty bottoms, many folks actually asked and wondered, continuing in the tradition of shaming Jessa whenever possible . We can’t really blame her in this case for pushing back a little bit. “Mine looks about the same,” she said in response to a negative comment. “It’s 60 degrees outside today. That’s barefoot weather.” Again: Not exactly a scathing comeback, but this is Jessa Duggar we’re talking about here. The fact that she felt a need to say anything at all proves how fed up she is with strangers focusing on such mundane (read: stupid!) things. She also said: “Yes, it’s Meredith’s toy and Henry was trying to steal it.” Jessa, who is also a mother to a second son named Spurgeon, is all too aware of the criticism her family faces nearly every day on social media. As previously noted, this isn’t the first time she has clapped back at a hater who had something negative to say about her loved ones. Earlier this year, to use another example, Duggar had no patience when some troll criticized her for using the word “training” about raising her kids. This person thought the word ought to be reserved for dogs, not human beings. “We train for occupations, we train for jobs, we hire personal trainers for fitness and we train/teach our kiddos in right behavior in the hopes they will grow up to be caring, thoughtful and responsible adults,” she wrote back, summoning all the sarcasm she could muster and concluding: “But I agree, dogs are not humans. Thank you for making that distinction.” View Slideshow: 19 Scandals & Counting: The Duggar Family’s Most Shameful Moments

The Duggars: Do Jim Bob & Michelle’s Kids Have Any Friends?

For the most part, growing up with 18 siblings sounds like a nightmare. The lack of bathroom access alone would be reason enough to run away from home. But we suppose there are some upsides, too — like the fact that you really never have to worry about companionship. After all, with that many siblings, you're sure to get along with at least one of them, right? Of course, the problem with raising and homeschooling an army of kids in a rural environment is that they don't have much incentive or opportunity to branch out and form relationships outside the family. Which may be why fans are convinced the Duggar kids never bothered to make any friends. Take a look: 1. So Many Duggars The Duggars are a sizable clan, and they’ve been growing at an astonishing rate in recent years, as Jim Bob and Michelle’s kids are marrying and starting families of their own. 2. Sisters/BFFs Several members of the Duggar clan paired off in childhood with siblings who remain their best friends in adulthood. 3. Jill and Jessa Forever Jill and Jessa Duggar, for example, have been close friends for their entire lives. 4. Better Than Besties Jill and Jessa have a bond that goes beyond friendship, and it was only strengthened when they both faced the challenges of new motherhood together. 5. And They’re Not the Only Ones … There are other pairs of close Duggar friends, including twins Jana and John David, who are said to enjoy such a close bond that they can communicate without speaking. 6. Not the Same But some fans have argued that sibling relationships don’t fill the same needs as friendships, and the Duggars’ isolation has had a profound effect on their social development. Jessa Duggar Celebrates Birthday By Baiting Mom-Shamers

In the eyes of many of her Instagram followers, Jessa Duggar can do no right.  Jessa gets mom-shamed pretty much every time she posts anything about her family, but to her credit, it seems she’s not letting it get her down. Despite the heckling hordes, Jessa continues to post as often as ever, even when she seems fully aware that her content is likely to outrage the haters. Jessa celebrated her 26th birthday yesterday, and it seems she went all out … by Duggar standards, of course. Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, attended a small, sober gathering of family and friends, and afterward, she posted some pics of her sons on the ride home. That may not seem like a very big deal, but we can’t overstate the extent to which trolls scrutinize every pic of Jessa’s kids in search of reasons to get angry. The above photo shows Jessa’s 3-year-old son Spurgeon amusing himself with some power windows. “He loves to operate the windows,” Jessa wrote. This pic shows 1-year-old Henry looking like he knocked back a few too many juice boxes. “Partied out,” Jessa captioned the pic. Again, this may not seem like a big deal, but given the uproar surrounding past claims of Jessa endangering her kids’ lives , we think it’s safe to say she knew what she was doing by posting pics of them in the car, safely buckled in. Jessa also posted this pic, captioned, “Checking the sports stats.” This one may be a subtle way of addressing two separate controversies: For one thing, fans have been critical of Jessa’s homeschooling practices. Basically, they don’t think she does any homeschooling at all. On top of that, much has been said about the younger generation of Duggars allowing their children to enjoy secular forms of entertainment, a big no-no in Jim Bob and Michelle’s book. So unless these two are reading Bible verses on that tablet, Jessa just basically confirmed that she’s joined the rebellion against Jim Bob. Or maybe we’re just reading way too much into simple pics of her kids. View Slideshow: Jessa Duggar’s Messy House Photos Are a Sight to Behold

Which Duggar Girl Has Been Labeled "The Mean One"?!

The Duggar clan is unlike just about any other family on television. Obviously, with 19 siblings, they’re much larger than any other famous brood, and while that may be what attracted viewers in the first place, it’s not what keeps them tuning in. No, to understand why Jim Bob, Michelle, and their children have become such subjects of fascination (and, in some cases, derision), one must examine their unique family dynamic. On television, we generally only see the sunny side of life on the Duggar compound, and viewers might be left with the impression that the siblings get along with one another and their parents at all times. Of course, that’s simply not the case. Jim Bob clashes with his daughter’s husbands to the point that he’s been unable to keep the conflicts out of tabloid headlines. As for the siblings that keep fans tuning into Counting On …  well, they may do a better job of hiding it, but it seems they butt heads just as hard. In fact, fans have gone so far as to dub one Duggar girl the “fundie Regina George,” in reference to the famous Mean Girls villain. Due to a take-charge attitude that some viewers interpret as domineering or manipulative, Jessa Duggar has been dubbed “the mean Duggar.” Most fans don’t point to any one incident in particular as evidence, but instead claim that Jessa is simply ruder and less sympathetic than her sisters. “Sorry not sorry I really have no tolerance for Jessa,” an anonymous commenter wrote on the Duggars Facebook page this week. “She’s a mean girl and on the show she tries to hog up most of the conversation and likes everything centered around her. More Jana and less Jessa please.” But if specifics are what you’re after, there have been plenty of incidents over the years that have led fans to the conclusion that Jessa isn’t the kindest soul on the compound. For starters, we’ve seen Jessa exploit Jana Duggar on multiple occasions, often corralling her older sister into performing childcare and duties and household repairs. Jessa has admitted to Counting On cameras that it’s a pattern of behavior that dates back to her early childhood. “I think as I started to get a little bit older, I also had a very strong personality so I would sometimes protest the ideas that [Jana] had,” she said on one episode. “She’d be like, ‘We’re going to do this,’ and I’d be like, ‘No we’re not.'” Some fans believe that Jessa’s vanity is her greatest sin, and they point to incidents such as the time she attempted to steal the spotlight following Amy Duggar’s wedding as proof. Just one day after the ceremony, a collection of never-before-seen photos from Jessa’s wedding appeared online. “We all had such a wonderful time at Amy’s wedding,” the official Duggar facebook page stated. “All of this excitement has caused Jessa to pull out her pictures from her wedding and post 100 of them on her website.” Many fans thought it was a transparently passive-aggressive move. There are several more incidents, such as the time that Jessa bragged on Instagram that a stranger paid for her order at Starbucks as part of the “pay it forward” movement that was taking place at the time. Asked if she returned the favor by paying for the next customer’s order, Jessa did not reply, and she eventually just deleted the post. But the worst allegations have to do with the fiery rhetoric Mrs. Seewald uses on social media. Jessa has compared abortion to the Holocaust and gleefully informed her followers that they’ll soon be burning in hell. Of course, in cases like that, she’s just vocalizing what all of her siblings believe. Watch Counting On online for more from reality TV’s most controversial family. Jessa Duggar: Mom-Shamed Over Video of Eldest Son

Just about everything the Duggars do is scrutinized and criticized these days, and most of it is understandable. After all, this is the family that helped hide several incidents of child molestation from authorities, so that the perpetrator, Josh Duggar, wouldn’t face punishment. But there were victims and bystanders in the family as well, and unfortunately, they’re often judged as harshly as the guilty parties. The latest target of anti-Duggar sentiments is mother of two Jessa Duggar. These days, it seems Jessa is shamed for literally everything she does that involves her two sons, Spurgeon and Henry. Jessa has hit back against the mommy-shamers in the past, but the practice of putting her down for her every parenting decision has continued unabated. Much of the criticism has to do with Jessa’s raising of her eldest son, Spurgeon. Many fans have taken it upon themselves to diagnose the child on the basis of the combined two minutes of footage they’ve seen over the past two years. These developmental psychology experts – who are willing to offer professional advice for free, bless their hearts – have decided that Spurgeon’s verbal expression abilities are not what they should be. And the problem, they believe, is that like the other Duggar children, Spurgeon is sheltered and doesn’t spend enough time with children his own age. On top of that, they say, he’s being babied by Jessa and her husband, Ben Seewald, and his progress is being delayed due to lack of mental stimulation. The latest criticism comes as a result of a short video that Jessa posted on Instagram. In the clip below, Spurgeon – who will turn 2 in November – is seen playing with a box of tissues and drinking from a sippy cup. Spurgeon Seewald Plays With Tissues And apparently, that’s enough to drive some fans absolutely nuts. “When r u gonna ween him off the bottle @jessaseewald!? U don’t him to bad teeth from being on the bottle to long? Usually kids r Weened off at 1?” wrote one commenter. “Is he still drinking from a bottle?!” remarked another. Fortunately, there were just as many fans who encouraged Jessa to ignore the haters. “Why does it matter? She’s his mother and she will mother him as she sees fit,” one fan pointed out. View Slideshow: Jessa Duggar Baby Photos: Welcome #BabySeewald! We know that mommy-shaming is the hot new trend these days, and folks have very conflicted views about the Duggars. but let’s leave the children out of it, eh? Counting On Recap: Joseph Duggar Courts Kendra Caldwell!

On the season premiere of Counting On, the Duggar family caught us up on all the latest wedding, baby and courtship news in Tontitown. If you follow them at all, then you know that the last few months have been extraordinarily busy in those regards, even by their standards. Watch Counting On Season 5 Episode 1 Online Fittingly just days after Joseph Duggar married Kendra Caldwell in Arkansas, the season premiere gave us all the back story on the couple. Minus the part where Joe bumped out Jedidiah and stole his girl . You heard that one here and only here. But back to the TLC series … On  Counting On Season 5 Episode 1 , we went all the way back to where Joseph was born … where he asked Kendra to enter into a courtship. The idea being that she would start a new life with him, at the place where his life began. Gotta hand it to the Duggars on these proposals. Court-posals? Is that a thing we can make happen? In any case, Jessa Duggar called Joseph’s idea “sweet” and “thoughtful,” though his older brother John-David was less than impressed. “I wouldn’t call it romantic,” JD said, noting that the home where he was born is … no longer there. “Take her to a car auction, then a slab of concrete.” “That’s … that’s different.” He did indeed take her to a car auction as an excuse to be on that side of town; Kendra’s dad and some of his family served as chaperones. “I wanted to do it sooner to surprise her,” Joe said of asking Kendra if he can court her, adding that she was expecting it to take longer. Why? It’s unclear, given the breakneck pace in which the family moves when it comes to relationships, but apparently this was a surprise. Joseph was “trying to act cool” and “be as normal as possible” before ultimately taking her to where the home once stood and … He pulled out a ring, asked if she would take this next step with him in life, and Kendra said yes, which he said was a major relief.  “I didn’t know you were going to ask me today!” Caldwell said, blown away by the gesture and the timing. “I had no idea … It’s so exciting!” As for what you’re all wondering:  Joseph’s sisters all received necklaces as a courting gift, which is customary apparently, but his gift of a ring was his own unique twist. As a symbol he’s not looking for anyone else and is “waiting for her” (for a matter of weeks, most likely), he placed it on her ring finger. On the right hand, not the left. Gotta save that for the big one … which we all know got handed out at Joy-Anna’s wedding in May. View Slideshow: Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell: The Newest Counting On Couple! If you watch Counting On online , you know that with this exciting milestone reached, the couple may now side-hug, as per Duggar tradition. That may not sound like much, but until that courtship – which is essentially a pre-engagement, ring or not – there is no touching. Period. As for their courtship rules? Every couple has their own version of the same playbook when it comes to this issue (though all of them are similarly stringent). Joe and Kendra’s twist? Agreeing not to hold hands with one another or be alone together until they’re married … and that’s not all:  Side-hugs are only allowed to last three seconds or less. Honestly. A five-second side hug would be borderline dangerous, you know. When asked if they would have a long or short courtship, the side-hugging duo said they’re taking things “one day at a time.”  In other words, super short. 16 Things Actually, Disturbingly BANNED By the Duggars

The Duggar family's unusual dating rules have been well documented, and have been well before the family was embroiled in scandals. It was an abrupt and stunning fall from grace when Josh Duggar's child molestation history – and rampant adultery – was first exposed. Yet, despite his hypocrisy, and the fact that everything about them has been under more scrutiny, the Duggars weathered the storm. TLC axed  19 Kids & Counting , only to come back with Counting On , and you can count on them never backing down from their beliefs. When it comes to their core convictions, they stand firm. Their belief system certainly takes a certain kind of conviction in order to practice, too, since their list of rules for love and life is not short. Despite talk of Joy-Anna Duggar breaking courtship rules , and signs of hope like Jinger wearing shorts , these guidelines ain't no joke. Here are 16 things the Duggars specifically do not allow … 1. Dates Without Chaperones The Duggar parents often accompany their kids on dates in order to maintain “accountability” and “keep things from going in the wrong direction,” per Jim Bob. The girls are fine with this, as being alone with men puts them in grave “moral danger.” When the parents aren’t available, their older siblings will often tag along, making every date a group date and a family affair. 2. Non-Group Texts Even in the kids’ late teens and early 20s, mom and dad are creeping on their text messages. When Ben Seewald jokingly wrote to fiancee Jessa, “Give me a ring,” Jim Bob actually jumped in on the group text, writing “No ring yet.” With a smiley face emoticon. Seriously, he did that. Whatever you think of him, Jim Bob needs his own Instagram so he can start posting screen shots of this stuff. 3. Hugs on the Chest This moment you see here between Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard would not have been permitted until the couple was married. Side hugs are the preferred method of PDA in order to prevent any further temptation or “hanky panky,” as has been well documented on 19 Kids and Counting. The Duggars love their side hugs so hard … though not too too hard, lest they lead to full-frontal hugging. And any touching beyond that? Save it for your wedding night. 4. Alcohol This is probably an obvious one if you know anything about the Duggars. The family does not smoke or drink. They do, however, enjoy the occasional sugary dessert or getting high on life and love. 5. Romance Novels Safe to say the Duggars are in the minority, having not read Fifty Shades of Grey (the movie adaptation of which they won’t be seeing either, we’re guessing). The Bible warns not to “think about gratifying the pleasure of the flesh,” so instead the family studies Christian text and not E.L. James’ erotic fiction. The Duggars’ option is probably 1,000 times better-written, we will give them that much. 6. Modern Music and/or Dancing Avert your eyes, Michelle Duggar! The family matriarch feels that dancing encourages “sensual” feelings, while Jessa Duggar has said that she feels modern music promotes “sex, drugs, all that type of stuff.” Instead, the family chooses to play gospel music together.
