Well, her parents are still fighting for her life 9 months later and have now shared a video of her moving her hands and feet on command. In light of the video footage and reported findings proving that there is blood flow to and activity in Jahi’s brain according to People Magazine , the McMath family lawyer is requesting that her status be changed to “alive.” Jahi’s mother has fought to keep her organs functioning via life support at an undisclosed location in New Jersey where the family is now residing. A court hearing to determine whether or not there is enough evidence to legally declare Jahi alive is scheduled for October 9th. Unfortunately in this tragic case, a father’s “whooping” went way too far and his two-year-old daughter ended up losing her life. Via DailyMail : A soldier beat his two-year-old daughter to death after he became upset that she had soiled her diaper, police have said. Dartarious Graham, 20, has been charged with capital murder after his daughter Peyton was found unresponsive with ‘suspicious’ injuries in his apartment in Fort Bliss, Texas. Police have also charged Graham’s cousin Robert Franklin, 19, for allegedly witnessing the attack and walking away. Graham, a US army specialist, is said to have become enraged and taken the little girl into his room with a belt. According to police, Franklin looked through the door and saw Graham beating little Peyton but ‘actually walked away while the beating took place.’ Investigators said Franklin told them he heard the child continue to be attacked and then came out of the bedroom. The pair called 911 in panic when they noticed the child go limp at 4.50pm on Saturday. Peyton was transported to El Paso Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead an hour later, ABC7 reported. The child’s mother, Elizabeth Graham, 23, who was not home at the time of the incident, has been charged with injury to a child by omission. Investigators learned the father had a history of beating the child and that the mother had failed to protect her and report the abuse, police said. All three are being held in El Paso County jail. Dartarious Graham, whose bail is set at $250,000, could face the death penalty or life without parole if convicted. SMH! Discipline and abuse are NOT THE SAME. People really need to learn the difference and stop with this “my parents did this to me” mentality…

Atlanta Woman And Fiance Dead After Kidnapping And Premature Birth Via NYDailyNews A pregnant mother who was critically wounded in a weekend kidnapping that killed her fiancé has died after giving birth to a premature baby girl. Briana Brooks, 21, was taken off life support Thursday night at an Atlanta hospital after recovered with her fiancé, Jeronta Brown, 24, lying alongside a road early Saturday, WXIA reported. The couple, expecting their second child, was each found with a gunshot wound to the head in northwest Atlanta. “They were handcuffed, both of them,” Orenthious Martin, who came across the victims around 4:30 a.m. told WSBTV. “Not tied. There were handcuffs on them.” DeKalb police believe the Saturday morning attack outside a family home wasn’t random and the couple likely knew their abductors. But since their terrifying abduction, Atlanta police say they are investigating a second, similar kidnapping of a woman that occurred Thursday morning in East Atlanta. The story of the kidnapping is some wild isht straight out of a Hollywood movie. Jeronta’s aunt saw the whole thing first hand… She said the young couple was returning with their 8-month-old baby and Brown’s 14-year-old sister around 12:30 a.m. when they were ambushed by at least two masked men. “When they pulled up, they pulled up behind them so they were maybe following them,” Brown’s sister, who escaped by running into a neighbor’s yard with the baby, told WSBTV. Brown also managed to escape, said Myesha, but once he realized Brooks was not with him he came back for her. “Once he turned around and saw his fiancée laid out on the ground he just turned around and said you just might as well take me too,” she told WXIA. Myesha, who was inside the house when this all happened, said the abductors then turned their attention to the house. “The guys walked up, started ringing the door bell, banging on the door. ‘FBI, FBI!’” she said they shouted. Unable to get in, the men handcuffed the couple and then forced them inside of a brown van. Shortly after the vehicle left, Brown’s family said they received a phone call from his cellphone. The caller demanded $150,000 for his return. Tragically negotiations proved fruitless for their release. Roughly four hours later, their bodies were discovered approximately 17 miles away. Jeronta’s stepfather believes his son and girlfriend were targeted because the family had just received a large settlement check. Damn shame what people will do to each other over money. A 9-year-old recently ended up killing her gun instructor when the kick-back from an Uzi set to automatic mode proved to be overwhelming for her. Via NBCnews : A shooting range instructor in Arizona was accidentally shot and killed by a 9-year-old girl who was learning how to shoot an Uzi, authorities said on Tuesday. Charles Vacca, 39, was teaching the girl how to use the automatic weapon on Monday morning at the Last Stop outdoor shooting range in White Hills, Arizona, when she pulled the trigger and the kickback caused the gun to lurch over her head, investigators said. Vacca was hit by a stray bullet and airlifted to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, where he was pronounced dead late Monday. The girl was at the range with her parents at the time, but their names were not released. Sam Scarmardo, the manager for the Last Stop’s shooting range, told NBC News that “the establish practice at most shooting ranges is 8 years old and up with parental supervision.” He said Vacca was a “great guy, with a great sense of humor” and called him “very conscientious and very professional.” Scarmardo said that the range has never had a similar incident in over a decade of being open — “not even a scratch.” “I just ask everybody to pray for Charlie, and pray for the client, she’s going to have a hard time,” said Scarmardo. Ronald Scott, a Phoenix-based firearms safety expert, said most instructors usually have their hands on guns when children are firing high-powered weapons. “You can’t give a 9-year-old an Uzi and expect her to control it,” Scott told the Associated Press. Yes, that means exactly what you think it means … Jewish Infants Contracting Herpes Via Rabbis Mouths Post-Circumcision Via TheDailyBeast On July 22, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene revealed that two new cases of neonatal herpes had been diagnosed during July. One baby was found at 16 days old to have “pustular lesions on the penis and genital area,” and a 17-day-old was found to have “lesions on his penis, left foot, and left thigh.” Based on the timing and the locations of the lesions, the male infants had contracted the herpes simplex virus during their Jewish circumcision custom, a bris, which occurs on the eighth day of life. Circumcisions are a standard—even beneficial—health practice. But each of these boys underwent a bris that followed an ancient ritual not widely practiced outside the ultra-Orthodox community. Metzitzah b’peh (MBP), the orogential (mouth to genitals) suctioning of blood from the penis of an infant male following circumcision, poses one of the most unique and upsetting public health issues. While infants who do not undergo MBP can contract neonatal herpes, infants who do are 3.4 times more likely to do so, according to the New York City Department of Health. Since 2000, 16 cases of neonatal herpes have resulted from MBP in New York City alone, with three proving fatal and others causing long-term health effects, including brain damage. A practice that sounds immediately abhorrent and baffling to nearly anyone outside New York’s ultra-Orthodox community has forced a controversial clash of local politics, culture, and power. MBP has been practiced for millennia with varying regularity among different sects of the Jewish community. However, in 1837, Chasam Sofer, a revered sage in the central and eastern European Jewish world, said oral suctioning could be stopped when it appeared to cause a public health crisis in Vienna. He stated that Jewish law did not state MBP as necessary for fulfilling the Jewish commandment of circumcision, and “even if oral suction had been mentioned in the Mishnah, we would be able to change it to another method which accomplishes the same thing, so long as we heed qualified physicians.” Other rabbis followed with similar rulings, and in many circles, MBP eventually fell out of practice for most Jews. Jewish leaders have condemned the MBP practice, but apparently that has fallen on deaf ears. Multiple religious authorities definitively stressed during the reporting of this article that MBP is not at all necessary to complete a bris. “The most fundamental precept of Jewish law is preservation of health, and life comes first. There’s no close second,” says Ben Hirsch, who was raised in Brooklyn’s ultra-Orthodox community and is now an advocate against abuse within the community. “The rabbis are obligated under Jewish law to defer to medical professionals, but they are refusing to do so, and infants are being maimed and killed.” Most succinctly, Dr. Moshe Tendler, a microbiologist and professor of Talmud at Yeshiva University, wrote in a 2004 Pediatrics article: “The rule that’s above all rules in the Torah is that you cannot expose or accept a risk to health unless there is true justification for it.” First and foremost, with all respect to Jewish tradition, that is just f*****g nasty. SMH Florida Boy Charged With Murder Of Homeless Man Via NYDailyNews A 12-year-old boy was collared for fatally shooting a homeless man in the head more than a month after the victim was found dead on a Florida street, police said. The boy — identified by WAWS-TV as Sharron Townsend — was collared Thursday for the murder of Thomas Trent, 54, after police identified the gunman in footage from a security camera near the June 28 shooting, Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Assistant Chief Chris Butler said. “It’s a horrific event,” Butler told reporters. “Horrific for the victim…but also you’re talking about a 12-year-old child.” Trent’s body was found lying outside an abandoned restaurant in the city’s west side. Investigators found a surveillance camera a short time later between a dental care office and a tattoo parlor that recorded two young men walking near the site where Trent was killed. A few minutes later, the footage shows the two suspects running “with their shorts on their heads” towards the back of a strip-mall where Trent was shot, according to an arrest report. Police managed to identify the other boy in the video as a 16-year-old who was being held in jail on an unrelated charge. Apparently the 16-year-old dropped dime on the young bol. The teen was not considered a suspect, but Butler did not elaborate. He said the younger boy was charged after he admitted to being in the surveillance clip. “The suspect gave admissions, and he identified himself in the video and being present and involved in the murder,” Butler said. Police were still trying to determine why Trent was shot. “Thomas had a heart of gold,” his sister, Dawn McNabb, told the local Fox affiliate. “Yeah, he was homeless. Yeah, he had a problem drinking, but that didn’t make a reason for him to be killed. That didn’t make a reason for him to be a target.” By no means should this kid be allowed to be tried as a minor.
