At a premiere for her latest movie, “Beautiful Creatures,” the Oscar nominee from last year’s “The Help” told us, “I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, ‘You should just pray for a husband.’ ” She took her pal’s advice, adding, “I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before . . . 3 1/2 weeks later I met my husband.” Davis wed actor and former college football player Julius Tennon in 2003, and they adopted a child last year. President Obama and the first family have been asked to pay their respects to Hadiya Pendleton in person… Friends and Family Of Hadiya Pendleton Want President Obama At Her Funeral The tragic, sudden and untimely death of 15-year-old Chicago native Hadiya Pendleton weighed heavy on the hearts of many, including the President and First Family who issued condolences to her family through White House spokesman Jay Carney upon learning of her passing. However, grieving residents, friends and family of Hadiya are now pushing for President Obama to take it a step further by paying his respects to her in person at her funeral on February 9. via Loop 21 What happened to Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago teen, was horrible. While taking cover from the rain, the young girl, who performed with her high school drill team at the Inauguration of President Barack Obama, was gunned down in what seems to be random gunfire. The White House acknowledged her death Wednesday. “The president and first lady’s thoughts and prayers are with the family of Hadiya Pendleton,” White house spokesman Jay Carney said. But the people want more. A petition was created, urging the president to honor the brief life of the girl and attend her funeral. Carney said he had no knowledge of the petition nor of any scheduling changes. There is no word that he has addressed the petitions’ request Our prayers continue to go out to this grieving family and community as they prepare to lay Hadiya to rest.

Jesus the take the wheel…or better yet, take the keys! 6-Year-Old Girl Steals Family Car To Go Visit Her Father A Pittsburgh child who is barely even old enough to attend school for a full day yet was involved in a car accident after she reportedly stole her mother’s car keys and got behind the wheel attempting to go visit her father. via Yahoo News Pittsburgh police say a determined 6-year-old girl didn’t hurt anyone when she crashed her mother’s car while trying to drive across town to visit her father. Police haven’t released the name of the girl whose mother was reportedly still sleeping when the girl took the woman’s car keys about 9 a.m. Sunday. Police Sgt. Jerry Parker tells reporters the little girl is tall for her age, but adds: “How she knew how to operate a car, your guess is as good as mine.” Police say the girl hit two parked vehicles, pushing one of them into a third, before hitting a utility pole. Police and the girl’s father arrived to take her home after the accident. Police are still investigating but haven’t said if anyone will face charges. This is one bizarre story. Her mother must have been one heavy sleeper, but aside from that, why couldn’t this child wait until the morning to go visit her father when her mother could take her? Son Of Former L.A. Lakers Player Nick Van Exel Convicted Of Murder The 22-year-old son of former famed L.A. Lakers baller Nick Van Exel has been convicted of murder and is set to be sentenced on Friday. The attorney for Van Exel’s son says the incident was an “accidental” shooting that took place while his client and the deceased were playing around with a loaded shotgun. via The Grio North Texas jury has found the 22-year-old son of former NBA player Nick Van Exelguilty of murder in the shooting death of a longtime friend. A Dallas County jury deliberated about 2½ hours before returning its guilty verdict Thursday against Nickey Maxwell Van Exel. Prosecutors had sought a capital murder conviction. They say Van Exel fatally shot Bradley Bassey Eyo in December 2010 and dumped his body at Lake Ray Hubbard on the eastern outskirts of Dallas. Van Exel’s attorney had said the two were playing with a shotgun at Van Exel’s Garland home, and that Van Exel didn’t know the gun was loaded. Via Vatican Crimes reports : Valdeci Sobrino Picanto is a Brazilian Evangelical Pastor. He has been arrested after deceiving the faithful using the name of the “Holy Spirit” by using these foolish lies. This criminal pastor claimed that the Holy Spirit would secrete from his “member” in the form of “sacred milk”. This pastor said that his “member” was blessed and that “the Lord had consecrated him with divine milk of the Holy Spirit” and, of course, he had to release it in order to “evangelize”. According to the testimony of one of his victims: “He has convinced us that only God could come into our lives through our mouth and that’s why he would do what he did”. Often, after worship, pastor Valdeci would take us to the where the funds were kept at the back of the Church and asked us to “work jaws” on him until the Holy Spirit would come through his release”. This pastor is already in jail where, he said when they arrested him that he intends to continue watering his cellmates with his sacred milk. Now that’s dedication. YUCK!

Via Huffington Post: Following a brief manhunt, authorities in Oklahoma arrested a 17-year-old boy accused of beating his mother to death with the butt of a shotgun. Henry ‘Hank’ Laird was reportedly “laughing and smiling” when he surrendered to police Wednesday afternoon in south Tulsa, according to KRMG. Police said it took 20 minutes to persuade Laird to give himself up, News On 6 reports. “We are just thankful we have [Laird] in custody,” Officer Jill Roberson told Tulsa World. “There has already been one tragedy out of this. We definitely did not want another one.” Henry Laird’s mother, Linda Laird, 56, was found dead Tuesday morning. The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s Office determined that she suffered “blunt force trauma to the head and neck” and ruled the death a homicide, CBS reports. Police discovered the victim’s body at the bottom of a staircase in her home. Prior to locating Laird, police arrested 19 year old Josiah Israel Sklar at a motel. Sklar, Laird’s alleged accomplice, told police he was present Monday night when the suspect allegedly bludgeoned his mother to death with the thick end of a shotgun. Arrest reports say Laird struck his mother at least 20 times using the weapon, FOX 23 reports. Laird is charged with first-degree murder. What a monster. This youth seriously needs help. Lone Star College In Houston Terrorized In School Shooting Via FoxNews Lone Star College, located in north Houston, was put on lockdown Tuesday after reports of several people being shot and injured on campus, MyFoxHouston.com reported. A federal law enforcement official told Fox News that one person is in custody and it is unclear if another suspect is on the run. Police are, however, searching the nearby countryside for a second shooter. Three victims were transported from the scene to area hospitals. Moments after the shooting, students could be seen being led out of the sprawling campus with their hands on their heads. Police SWAT teams were searching the campus. Details of the events leading to the shooting is unclear, but reports indicate that the incident stemmed from an earlier argument near the school’s library. An emergency alert was sent to students advising them and faculty to take immediate shelter and not to enter the campus until notified further. Other local school were also placed on lock down. The community college is a two-year school with about 28,000 students. The school is located just outside the George H.W. Bush International Airport. A popular Chicago preacher has provoked controversy after posting a picture of himself in the bath with his granddaughter on Instagram. Chicago Preacher Bishop Trotter Takes Bath With Granddaughter The young girl’s mother, Javon Trotter, in response to the public’s critical outpour, spoke to theGrio in an exclusive phone interview and says she is supporting her father through this difficult time. Via The Grio reports: “I’m upset, I’m hurt I can’t believe that people would re-post the picture of my innocent baby and say bad things about my father who loves my baby and all kids,” she says. “He would never do anything to harm them. It’s hurtful for my whole family.” The picture, which has since been removed, went viral a few days ago, causing an uproar in the social media community. From calling Trotter a “pervert” and to deeming the photo as “plain inappropriate,” social media users took to Twitter expressing their opinions about the post. Ms. Trotter wanted to clarify that her father was bathing in their large whirlpool Jacuzzi in their bathroom when the granddaughter walked in and asked her mother if she could go into the tub with him. After the girl asked to join her grandfather, both Trotter and his granddaughter put on swim trunks before getting into the water. Javon also adds that her daughter was only in the water for about three to five minutes, and she was present during the entire situation. She says that she simply does not understand why people misinterpreted the image. “I don’t understand — it doesn’t look bad. I would never thought he would do anything [inappropriate],” she contends. “I don’t know why people would think this way. I know my father and he would never do anything to his kids.” Although the photo was only on the account for about ten minutes before it was taken down, the daughter of the bishop says that it was only supposed to be shared among family members and is horrified that it was posted online. The photo was inadvertently sent by a family member to a person who manages his social media accounts, according to Trotter. “I would have not posted the photo online…We never wanted anyone else to see it,” she says. “[My father] is hurt as well, we’re his family.
