Draw Mohammed day 2010: Mo’s A-Plenty

I like how the song starts out all folksy and ends big band rockin style. A lot of talent out there expressed in many ways. One thought occurred to me during the compilation: What if Mohammad were Jesus coming back with a modified message from God? Then you have the enigma of Mo really being Jesus who is really God who is really all of us… i think i ate too many percocet. added by: onemalefla

Miranda Kerr’s Bare Ass and Titties in June GQ of the Day

I like that everyone is finally catching up with me in terms of admitting that they are perverted. There was a time when GQ, Maxim and all the other magazines would push the boundaries as far as their advertisers would let them, in terms of getting girls almost naked without actually getting them naked, because naked means porn, so people like me would have to hit the internet to post the good fucking stuff, not to say that what I post is good, but to say that I don’t censor a fucking nipple because Coca Cola will pay me 100,000 dollars not to, I’m an idiot like that….but now all of a sudden everyone is getting more Euro and actually getting down with nudity, because let’s face it, nudity is natural, despite what all the Jesus freaks tell us, and the reality is that I appreciate their efforts, cuz anyone who can afford to get a supermodel naked to share with the rest of us is a noble fucking thing, but I just can’t wait til they step it up a few notches and start publishing pussy lip, cuz nipples and bare ass aren’t shit without vagina lip… Either way, good shoot, good spread, good times.

Guru Associate Black Jesus Recalls Introducing Late MC To Solar

Rapper calls the producer an ‘opportunist’ who preyed on Guru’s vulnerability. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Black Jesus Photo: MTV News When it comes to Guru’s musical legacy, critics and fans alike point to the rapper’s work with DJ Premier in Gang Starr as evidence of his mark on hip-hop. The letter issued to the media after the MC’s death last week, however, didn’t even mention Primo by name. In the alleged comments, Guru pronounced himself to be the sole founder of Gang Starr. Admirers of the group cried foul over the slight. Solar, Guru’s new producer and spokesman, was accused of penning the letter, a claim he denied to MTV News . Fans wondered: Who is Solar? And how did he meet Guru? It turns out Guru met Solar when he was introduced by a mutual acquaintance, an artist named Black Jesus, who was signed to the Gang Starr rapper’s label. Now aligned with Wu-Tang Clan, Black Jesus told MTV News he first met Solar in the early 2000s. Both men are members of the Nation of Gods and Earths, a religious sect, and were introduced at a monthly rally in Harlem. According to Black Jesus, they discovered in one another a shared passion for music, and the rapper invited the budding producer to visit him in the studio. In the studio, working on a track titled “I’m Saying,” Black Jesus said he found Solar to be “arrogant” and a “control freak” after clashing with another producer. The rapper said he wrote the experience off to Solar being “starstruck” over Guru. Eventually, Solar started working with Guru, as the rapper was looking for beats for several projects outside of Gang Starr. Black Jesus recalled the time and emphatically denied Solar’s claims that the producer and Guru had a dynamic creative chemistry. “That’s exaggerating the whole situation,” Black Jesus told MTV News’ Sway. “The chemistry, ’cause [Guru] is Gang Starr, that’s his sound. … He did his Jazzmatazz thing and did different things, but the whole thing was, Guru was producing for me. At the time he was doing [Gang Starr’s] The Ownerz, he was working on my project. There was a chemistry we had. With the buzz, they kind of hated and didn’t want to go with the chemistry. A lot of people thought that wasn’t what he was supposed to be doing.” As Solar also revealed, Black Jesus said Guru had a dark cloud hanging over him in his later years, battling problems with drinking and drugs. He also suggested the divide between Guru and Premier wasn’t as deep as people speculated. Black Jesus said it was similar to what any longtime group experiences: personal jealousies and minor creative differences. Solar, he explained, was an “opportunist” who preyed on Guru’s vulnerability. “Guru complained to me a few times, ‘Oh, Primo this,’ ” Black Jesus said. “I looked it at like, ‘That’s you and your crew. That’s not really my business. You need to put aside your differences and put out a Gang Starr album,’ I told him. I think it was the fact, if you want me to be honest, it was the beats. ‘Cause he told me a couple times: When Guru steps off and they’re not doing Gang Starr, he does his Jazzmatazz albums, and Primo goes off and hits off Jadakiss, Nas and Hov. But I always felt [Guru and Premier] made their best music together.” Share your memories of Guru and Gang Starr in the comments below. Related Artists Gang Starr

Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ Musical Is Political And Personal

‘It’s about people becoming lost and just trying to find their way,’ Billie Joe Armstrong tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Billie Joe Armstrong at “American Idiot” on Broadway Photo: Jason Kempin/ Getty Images By now, you’re probably aware that Green Day’s 2004 album American Idiot was a fairly, uh, political affair. And while the Broadway version of the record doesn’t exactly shy away from the topic, it also reveals a side of the music that most probably never realized was there in the first place: the personal. “I think, politically, American Idiot, when we were writing it, it was trying to make sense out of a big mess,” Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong said. “You’re trying to find something to believe in, but it’s difficult when you’re getting bombarded with useless information. So it’s just [about] trying to find your identity and your individualism in the midst of all that.” “That’s the political side, but on the personal side, there’s characters in American Idiot that allowed Billie and us to carry those emotions and translate them,” bassist Mike Dirnt added. “And I think that it’s really great. We’ve had those characters, and in the play, [director] Michael Mayer has expanded on that … made a more linear approach to it with adding extra characters and expanding the original story-line concept.” So while the Broadway reimagining of Idiot is plenty loud and raucous, there’s also more of the softer stuff: the voyage of discovery that three bored teens embark on, the struggle to find themselves in a world gone haywire. It’s the kind of stuff that resonates not just with Armstrong, but with theater-going audiences too — which is sort of the point, if you think about it. “I think a lot of people weighed really heavy on the ‘American’ side of American Idiot and what it’s like to be an American and what it means when the record came out, so a lot of people were looking towards the political, angry part of it,” Armstrong said. “But I think there is a theme with the characters, it’s about people becoming lost and just trying to find their way, and I think that’s a theme that’s been going through our songs since 1988, and it really kind of manifests itself, you know, with the characters, like Jesus of Suburbia, Whatsername and St. Jimmy. And now, on the stage, that’s really coming across. You’re investing into the characters a lot more and identifying with them.” Do you want to head to NYC to check out “American Idiot” on Broadway? ‘Green Day Rocks Broadway: American Idiot’ Goes Behind The Scenes Of Musical

MTV gives you a peek at rehearsal footage and interviews with the cast. By James Montgomery Green Day at “American Idiot” on Broadway Photo: Bryan Bedder/ Getty Images The Broadway version of Green Day’s “American Idiot” doesn’t officially open until April 20, but Friday night (April 16), MTV gave fans an exclusive look into the making of the punk-rock opera when it aired “Green Day Rocks Broadway: American Idiot.” The show detailed the long journey from the recording of the Idiot album in 2003 to rehearsals at New York’s St. James Theatre and, at every step of the way, the pressure to deliver the goods was off the charts. “Right around 2003, I think, as a band, we wanted to have a monumental moment. We wanted to make a concept album, we knew that,” Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong explained. “Politically, when we were writing it, American Idiot was trying to make sense out of a big mess. We were trying to find something to believe in. It’s about people becoming lost and trying to find their way. And I think that’s been going through our songs since 1988.” Armstrong said that, to a man, Green Day always believed that Idiot should end up on the stage, but they didn’t think they’d ever find the right team to help that transition. Until they met “Spring Awakening” director Michael Mayer, who took on the project and guided it through an initial run at the Berkeley Repertory Theater in California last year. “This album is our baby. To see it get put in the hands of other people, it’s great. We’ve always thought that somehow there should be some sort of stage version, because that’s what was going on in our heads,” Armstrong said. “[And] Michael really stuck to the heart of the album, which are the characters, like Jesus of Suburbia. But he also created new characters by using different, little subliminal things that we put in special packaging. Like the character Tunny, it’s a brand-new character. Will, it’s a brand-new character, too.” Through rehearsal footage and interviews, we met the Broadway cast , which features “Spring Awakening” star John Gallagher, Jr as Johnny (the so-called “Jesus of Suburbia”), Michael Esper as Will, Stark Sands as Tunny, Tony Vincent as St. Jimmy and Rebecca Naomi as Whastername. It’s a big, diverse collection of talent, but they all had one thing in common: a mutual love for the American Idiot album. “I can remember just driving around in my mother’s minivan, and just cranking that record as loud as it would go,” Gallagher said. “And really, just feeling understood, and there was this direct line of communication that I felt coming from that record.” “The album is really like a rallying cry for our generation,” Mary Faber, who plays Heather, added. And though some of the characters were created by Mayer, Armstrong said what resonates most to him about the musical — and, what he thinks fans will relate to — is that they’re close to his own heart … and probably yours, too. And, at the end of the day, that’s what the stage version of “American Idiot” is really all about. “Those people remind me of my friends, and they remind me of myself,” Armstrong said. “I guarantee that what’s presented on stage someone will absolutely be able to latch onto,” Vincent added. Jesus, From the Man Who Brought You Basic Instinct and Showgirls

Jesus Christ! No, really: As alluded to last week in this space , Dutch filmmaker and all-around cinematic provocateur Paul Verhoeven has a serious interest in the story of Jesus. So much so that Verhoeven has written his own scholarly work about the conceptions and misconceptions about the Lord and Savior of about 2.2 billion followers worldwide. But his book Jesus of Nazareth isn’t just some Hollywood hobbyist’s tract from the theological sidelines. According to Verhoeven himself, it’s a “treatment” for a cinematic work that will finally keep it real about Jesus.
