Sarah Silverman was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, appearing to promote her new stand-up special… and also to give back a bunch of Kimmel’s stuff, seeing as these two dated for five years until breaking up in 2008. It was a tad awkward (“It’s like I never left, only you’re married!” Silverman quipped upon sitting down), but mostly just plain awesome. Silverman brought along with her a box that contained Kimmel’s old toothbrush, his Palm Treo charger, some very large jeans and a a collage out of all the heads she cut out of their pictures together. Oh, and the former couple’s son. Silverman brought along the former couple’s son as well. Jimmy Kimmel loves kids. Specifically posting them doing and saying absurd things. Occasionally, this gets him in hot water, as we saw with Kanye West. Or worse, in this case. Saturday, hundreds of protesters targeted ABC Studios in Burbank, Houston, and Phoenix to protest a segment of his show. Jimmy Kimmel China Skit On October 16, Jimmy Kimmel Live aired an unscripted segment called “Kids’ Table,” in which he hosted a round table Q&A session among youths. The topic? How the United States should repay its $1.3 trillion debt to China. One of the kids’ response? That we should just “kill everyone in China.” Both ABC and Kimmel have apologized , and are no longer airing “Kids’ Table.” However, Chinese-American groups and protesters are far from pleased. According to a Burbank Police Department spokesperson, crowds “swelled up to 1,500 protestors” at the 2300 block of Riverside Drive on Saturday. Less than 400 miles away, one hundred protesters gathered outside the ABC 15 studios in Phoenix to voice opposition to the very same sketch. In response to the controversial skit, they chanted, “Teach kids no hatred,” “No fake apology,” and “Shame on you ABC” for 20 minutes, before relocating. In Houston, several hundred protesters reportedly flooded an intersection and urged ABC to stop racism against the Chinese and fire Jimmy Kimmel. Twitter was also peppered with tweets and videos from the protests. The backlash toward Kimmel’s apology didn’t in there. A petition demanding Kimmel be held responsible for the comments was posted to the White House’s website. It has obtained more than 100,000 signatures, which requires an official statement from the White House, as per their awesome/terrible system/

Nice break from L.A. court, where Kanye’s lawyer Blair Berk pled not guilty on the rapper’s behalf just a few hours ago in the photog-beating case. A Billings, Montana woman was charged with felony DUI after becoming so intoxicated that she had to call 911 to get out of the car, the Billings Gazette reports. Maybe a sign you shouldn’t be driving. Maybe. Carol Frances Omeara, 55, made an initial appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Wednesday. She remained jailed as of Thursday on $3,000 bond. Omeara was arrested Tuesday after a 911 call in which she said she couldn’t get out of her vehicle. The dispatcher asked if she was having medical or mechanical issues. Court records indicate the caller replied she was too drunk, and she wasn’t kidding. Prosecutors say Omeara’s blood-alcohol level was 0.311 percent. Point three-one-one percent! That’s 3-4 times the legal limit at which a driver is considered legally intoxicated. Sadly but not surprisingly, records say Omeara has three previous DUIs.
Safe to say Gloria Allred was unmoved by Kanye West’s visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live . The famed victims’ rights attorney is calling the rapper out as a shameful disgrace. After ‘Ye threatened the paparazzi during his epic late night rant, strongly implying that he’ll keep using force if he deems it necessary, Gloria was fuming. Allred is representing photographer Danny Ramos, the paparazzo who has sued the rapper alleging assault, battery, negligence and violation of civil rights. Kanye claimed self-defense in that LAX airport altercation, but Allred isn’t buying it, and cites remarks by Kanye on Jimmy Kimmel as further proof of her point: “Mr. West made it clear that he thinks he has the right to attack anyone that antagonizes him by asking him a question he does not like. He thinks that paparazzi are fair game.” “In his televised appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show he sent a message that anyone that crosses him is not safe and that no one should forget that he is from Chicago.” “We have a message to you Mr. West in response. You will be held accountable for your actions both in the criminal justice system and in the civil justice system.” “Your remarks are shameful and add further insult to the injuries that you inflicted upon my client. You say that you bring ‘joy to the world’. I say you disgrace your profession.” Allred said that the volatile Kim Kardashian beau brings “shame to your hometown of Chicago when you make reference to being from Chicago as some sort of threat.” Ouch. Sounds like someone’s gearing up for a right. Unless he settles out of court beforehand, Kanye is scheduled to be arraigned on criminal battery charges November 7.
