This time it was a haunting rendition of Willow Smith’s pop hit “Whip My Hair” with Bruce Springsteen — who stuck around the entire episode — and Jimmy Fallon as Neil Young. Elsewhere, Harrison Ford appeared to be either drunk or high on Conan , Stephen Colbert parodied Sarah Palin’s Alaska and Craig Ferguson paid tribute to Doctor Who to the best of his budgetary abilities. How about those Emmy Awards last night ?! Despite having a giant middle chuck filled with boring boredom — this just in: Temple Grandin won another award — the show was briskly paced, loaded with surprises and really kinda fun. Part of the reason for this was Jimmy Fallon, who proved fairly adept at hosting, even if he should have dumped the unfunny Twitter introductions before they even started .
