By Jocelyn Vena Kim Kardashian in Marie Claire Photo: Marie Claire In the two weeks since Kim Kardashian took over the entertainment news cycle with the announcement of her divorce from Kris Humphries , the reality starlet has maintained a relatively low profile, emerging this week only to thank her fans on her blog. But Kardashian will appear on the cover of the December issue of Marie Claire and opened up to the magazine about her then-married life in an interview conducted before the headline-making news broke. “I’m not worried about him at all. We have a lot of trust, and I don’t think either of us would do anything to break that. It makes life so easy,” the cover girl told the mag, out November 22. “He’s such a good guy; he is so down-to-earth, and it’s such a reality check. He is a normal guy, and I just want to chill out and be normal and not get glammed up all the time. He gets it. Sometimes my life can be really intimidating for people, but he allows me to work and do what I’ve gotta do.” The interview is full of pre-divorce praise for Humphries. “It’s fun to have a partner who understands your life and lets you be you,” Kim said about her soon-to-be-ex-husband. “I feel like where we’re at right now is the best time in my life.” The wedding itself netted as many headlines as the divorce, resulting in a four-hour-long E! special covering the event. “I felt like if I didn’t show the wedding, it would be upsetting for people who have taken this journey with me,” she said about her decision to film all the fuss leading up to the lavish ceremony and reception. Regarding rumors that the wedding cost in excess of $20 million, she said, “I don’t talk about money.” Next up, fans will get to see the marriage strife experienced by Kim and Kris in the next season of “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” which airs later this month on her home network. “We’ll just be who we are, and — love it or hate it — we have each other. The Dr.Luke-produced single is a pure pop record with a touch of dubstep. She proudly declares on the song, “My love is your love/ Your love is my love,” later adding, “You’re the one I dream about.” The song will be officially unlocked on Friday on the star’s Facebook page. For the track’s cover art, Rihanna was shot in black and white smoking a cigarette with her head tilted back. “You da One” opens up the album, setting the tone for a nonstop party, where Rihanna never lets up. She embraces several musical genres, ranging from reggae to house to dancehall to pop, with a bit of everything in between. Talk That Talk ‘s first chart-topping single, “We Found Love,” was produced by Calvin Harris and currently sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. She also worked with Harris on the Talk That Talk track “Where Have You Been.” Other producers who made the album’s final cut include Stargate, Bangladesh and The-Dream. Jay-Z also appears on the album’s title track. In the lead-up to the LP’s release, Rihanna has some big TV plans, including an “X Factor” performance on November 17 and an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” the same day the album drops. ‘I wanted to quit,’ reality star tells MTV News about new episode at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena Chelsea Settles Photo: MTV News Since Chelsea Settles launched herself as MTV’s next great reality star last month, it’s been an interesting journey for both viewers and Settles herself. In the episode airing tonight (November 8), Chelsea Settles gets her butt kicked during her first workout in the City of Angels. “I’m most nervous for the first workout with Angela. It was insanity,” she dished to MTV News. “It was nuts, nuts, nuts, nuts. I wanted to quit. I felt like I should just be fat for the rest of my life.” During the super-tough workout, she said she was thinking, ” ‘Why do I need to go through this?’ I knew that I wanted to lose weight, but I didn’t know the hard work and dedication it would take to get there. I wish there was some sort of magic cure to end it all. I didn’t want to put in the hard work. I was embarrassed … so it was kind of mental.” Over the course of the season, those trying moments have helped Settles connect with the audience, and fan feedback has been incredibly positive toward her. “It’s really crazy, and I can’t believe it because we’re almost halfway there,” she said. “It’s kind of a whirlwind but I’m excited to get to interact with a lot of the viewers, and I’m glad that the response has been the way that it has. There’s such an outpouring of love and sincerity from so many people, and I just feel grateful.” While fans love watching Settles grow week after week, it’s been really overwhelming for her. “I cringe every Tuesday before the show airs,” she admitted. “I have butterflies in my stomach. I don’t know what to expect. It’s just it’s weird to see that I played the victim so much. I never realized that I did that. I blamed everything on my weight, and in a lot of the situations, it had nothing to do with my weight.” So, what does Settles blame for her early strife on the show? “It was just lack of confidence and me needing to come into my own, but I just have to accept myself as that girl and love her just as much as I love myself now,” she said. “And that’s been the process that I’ve been going through.” Don’t miss the new episode of “Chelsea Settles,” airing tonight (November 8) at 10 p.m. ET/PT (9 Central) on MTV. Norwegian production team Stargate spilled the beans that Hova will appear on Ri’s next album. In an interview posted on Complex.com , Stargate member Tor Erik Hermansen described the track as a “midtempo banger with hard drums, dirty synths, and Rihanna and Jay at their best. “We are very happy with the song, and Jay’s verse is crazy — same with Rihanna’s part,” he told the mag. Rihanna took to Twitter on Tuesday (November 8) to confirm that her mentor will appear on the song “Talk That Talk”: “Yes sir! Jigga man is on the title track #TTT.” Rihanna and Jay have memorably collaborated in the past on her mega-hit “Umbrella” and his Blueprint 3 track “Run This Town.” The collabo news comes just days after Rihanna released the Talk That Talk track list . Fourteen songs made the final cut; 11 will be featured on the standard version, and the additional three on the deluxe version. The OG Material Girl announced that she’s launching a new fashion brand called “Truth or Dare by Madonna.” Aimed at women between the ages 27 and 50, Madonna will serve as the face of the company. For her Material Girl line, which she designed with her daughter Lourdes, she hired former “Gossip Girl”-turned-rocker Taylor Momsen and later Kelly Osbourne to serve as the brand’s model. “Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,” Madonna said in a statement, according to Yahoo . “The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.” In addition to the eventual inclusion of accessories, handbags and lingerie and the possible launch of a full clothing line, Madge will kick things off in April 2012 with her first-ever signature fragrance, joining the ranks of other pop stars like Justin Bieber , Taylor Swift , Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, to name a few. “I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well,” she said. “Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name ‘Truth or Dare.’ ” “Truth or Dare” is named after Madonna’s 1991 documentary of the same name. It chronicled the life of the singer on her 1990 Blond Ambition Tour, giving fans an insider look at life on the road with the pop star. Will Ferrell came it at #3 on tally of Hollywood stars who aren’t worth the salaries they bank. By Jocelyn Vena Eddie Murphy Photo: Getty Images On the same weekend that Eddie Murphy opens his comeback flick “Tower Heist” comes the news that he joins rom-com queen Drew Barrymore atop a list of Hollywood’s most overpaid actors in the business. Forbes makes the case that these two movie stars aren’t worth the bank they are making. The site used an involved equation to figure out which celebrities would make the list. Celebrities qualified for it based on a set of criteria. One: They had to earn a large salary. Two: They had to have at least three films released in at least 500 theaters in the past five years. (Animated flicks and films released after May 1, 2011, didn’t count.) But wait, it didn’t stop there. Using their Celebrity 100 list, Forbes calculated each star’s earnings and then looked at film budgets and returns to figure out the income for the movies. All caught up on that? OK, so here’s how it shook out. Barrymore lands at #1 on the list. Her recent box-office failures “Everybody’s Fine” and “Lucky You” only racked up $24 million combined. While her ensemble film “He’s Just Not That Into You” netted $180 million globally, the publication didn’t count it towards her profit margins since she wasn’t the sole marquee name in the flick. Barrymore returns 40 cents for every $1 she makes. Despite the success of “Shrek,” which falls in the animated category, Murphy landed right behind Barrymore thanks to films that billed him as the headlining name. “Imagine That” and “Meet Dave” earned $72 million combined and cost a combined $115 million to make. So what does that mean? It means that Murphy returned $2.70 for every $1 he was paid. Coming in at #3 is Will Ferrell, who had topped the list for the past two years.
