By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Vanessa WhiteWolf Heidi Montag Photo: MTV News On Sunday night, Heidi Montag made her return to the reality TV world on VH1’s latest entry into the genre, “Famous Food.” On the show, Montag competes against other celebrities to open up a restaurant in Los Angeles that would be called, as the title says, Famous Food. The show’s cast includes famed call girl Ashley Dupre, Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul and Juicy J, “The Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka, “Sopranos” actor Vincent Pastore and feisty “Real Housewives of New Jersey” alum Danielle Staub. What may surprise viewers, though, is which of the celebs end up becoming friends … and then some. “There were some shocking alliances, a little too close for some people,” Montag dished to MTV News. “I’m like, ‘OK, let’s keep it professional!’ And really just people I would never expect [to make alliances, did].” Of course, that might sound like a pretty shocking statement coming from Montag, who while on MTV’s “The Hills” married Spencer Pratt , the hit reality show’s biggest bad guy. But that’s all history. These days, Heidi’s focused on showing fans her business savvy. “It was really important for me and very exciting to win a potential partnership at the end of the show,” she said of wanting to take the prize, which is a stake in the restaurant. “I’m very excited to be a part of the show,” she added. “And I knew it was going to be a great experience and something different, very different from anything I’ve ever done.” Did you catch “Famous Food”? Swizz Beatz Clarifies Haute Living Rollout, Lil Wayne Track

‘ Haute Living is still coming, but as far as releasing all on one day, I’m not doing that no more,’ Swizz tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Swizz Beatz Photo: MTV News Swizz Beatz initially was planning to go about releasing his latest musical venture Haute Living like any other artist would. He had a release date set and was growing the buzz around the album. Then he seemed to change his mind . Instead of releasing all of the songs at once, Swizz is going to release the tracks over an extended period of time. Why? Well, he explained it all to MTV News at the Sounds Like Paper Concert at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, where he was celebrating his Paper magazine cover. “Let me clarify: Haute Living is still coming, but as far as releasing all on one day, I’m not doing that no more,” he said. “I want to just drop singles from Haute Living instead of ‘I’m coming on September 13.’ I’m like, ‘You know what? Let me make every song an event, instead of just that one day being an event.’ ” Swizz, never a man to let boundaries define him, continued, “I want to change the whole mind-set of the way I do things as an album, but Haute Living is definitely coming. I’m just tired of doing things traditional. My whole concept of life is just to do things nontraditional, making new rules. Sky’s not the limit — it’s just a view.” Much like his reinvention of the album’s rollout, Swizz also sees the album’s music as a reinvention of how he sounds. “My vision came together for what was basically breaking all boundaries and graduating my brand and letting people know that I can do other things,” he explained. “And I used Haute Living as an outlet to team me [with all these other artists] and it was amazing.” Now that he’s clarified all the hubbub around Haute Living, Swizz also addressed Lil Wayne’s recent comments regarding their track “Dear Anne,” in which Wayne pointed out that he wasn’t happy with the track because he thought his verses were too “old,” according to XXL . “That problem is solved now,” Swizz teased. “So look out for something.” Related Artists Lil Wayne Swizz Beatz

Red Hot Chili Peppers Video ‘Crazier’ With Kreayshawn Calling Shots

By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea and Anthony Kiedis (file) Photo: Karl Walter/Getty Images When MTV News first broke the news that up-and-coming “Gucci Gucci” rapper Kreayshawn had been tapped to direct the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” video , the reaction from most seemed to be “her?” Yes, despite the fact that she went to The Berkeley Digital Film Institute — and has directed clips for the likes of Lil B — most couldn’t believe that the Chili Peppers had gone with the Bay Area Based Goddess for the first video from their much-anticipated I’m With You album. But RHCP fans weren’t the only ones feeling that way: Turns out Kreayshawn couldn’t believe it either. “My manager hit me up. He was like, ‘Oh, Warner is looking for somebody to direct the new Red Hot Chili Peppers video. They want you to do a treatment.’ So at that time, I was like, ‘Oh sh–! I’m about to do it, ‘ ” Kreayshawn told MTV News on the set of the “Rain Dance” video earlier this week. “Later, I found out that [my treatment] was picked out of a whole bunch of them. … So I was like, ‘Oh, that makes it even crazier. ‘ I went to film school and stuff, but, like, I never thought it was going to translate into something this big.” Though she was overwhelmed, Kreayshawn said any doubts she had disappeared after speaking with RHCP frontman Anthony Kiedis and discovering that the two shared similar visions for the clip. “I talked to Anthony a couple times, and he was like, ‘I want to do a couple changes to the video,’ but all the changes he had were, like, stuff we were already doing with the video, like slow-motion and stuff. So I was like, ‘We’re dialed in,’ ” she said. “Everyone was completely ready and they came here, they’re excited, which makes me even happier. … There’s a good vibe everywhere.” Of course, while she was more than willing to speak about the vibe of the video, Kreayshawn didn’t want to reveal much about the actual plot — though she did say that, well, certain groups of the Chili Peppers’ fanbase will definitely be happy with the end result. “It’s got that organic feel, but it still gives the band a great shine and they look f—ing awesome, ” she laughed. “They are looking off the chain, man. Rihanna Replaces Cee Lo Green With J. Cole As ‘Official’ Tour Opener

After Cee Lo Green had to drop out of the singer’s Loud tour due to other commitments, the “California King Bed” designated J. Cole as the “Forget You” singer’s replacement. Rihanna announced via Twitter that rapper J. Cole, who was already on the road with the singer, will fill Green’s shoes as her main warm-up act on the tour, which began this month. “#GOODNEWS @JColeNC is our new official opener!” she wrote on Tuesday night. “@CeeLoGreen will no longer be a part of #LOUDtour due 2 commitment with ‘The Voice’ #Cantmissit.” Green had to leave when his schedule became too crammed with other commitments, including his judging gig on the hit NBC talent competition “The Voice,” which is also presenting a tour this summer. “He always puts 100 percent into his work and with the requirements and time commitment to ‘The Voice,’ on top of heading back into the recording studio and an upcoming book, he feels that he wouldn’t give his fans the show that they deserve,” Green’s spokesperson said, according to The New York Times . Rihanna’s Loud tour travels the U.S. through July 24 before heading to Europe in August. It’s set to wrap up in late December. There was a similar switch-up for Rihanna’s Last Girl on Earth Tour in 2010, when Nicki Minaj pulled out at the last minute and was quickly replaced with Travie McCoy. Ke$ha also opened on that tour. By Jocelyn Vena Alicia Keys unviels her wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York City Photo: Getty Images NEW YORK — Alicia Keys famously sang about the “spirit of New York” on her hit song with Jay-Z, “Empire State of Mind.” Now the New York native is part of an exhibit with that name at Madame Tussauds in Times Square, and she couldn’t be prouder to have her wax figure stand alongside those of Regis Philbin, Woody Allen and Frank Sinatra. “I actually think it’s really, really good!” she raved to MTV News about the likeness. “I was looking close up: It’s like my eyebrows are for real, and it’s like my eyes are for real, and the bone structure of my chin, like, ‘Look, that’s my chin! That’s my jaw!’ “It’s incredible. It’s really incredible, and I think it’s so cool to be a part of the New York City part of the exhibit,” she added. “I was born and raised here, this is my home, so it’s so perfect.” It’s a particularly big day for Keys, as it was just announced she’s producing the Broadway play “Stick Fly.” Keys said she can’t believe she has her hand in something that will be playing on the Great White Way. “The piece is really about this beautiful African-American family in Martha’s Vineyard, and it is so deep,” she said of the play by Lydia R. Diamond. “It’s about all the secrets that families have, and it’s funny. What I love about it is it bypasses everything, and it’s all about family.” The singer, who is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of her breakout album Songs in A Minor, says that, as a New Yorker, getting on Broadway is living the dream. “Broadway is something that’s played an integral part in my life. It’s been something that I’ve experienced my whole life,” she said. “I’ve always wanted to be a part of it. You haven’t seen this family before on Broadway. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Says ‘Transformers’ Will Be First 3-D Movie She’s Seen

By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” Photo: Paramount In case you need more reason to go see “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” this week, in addition to crazy amped-up action and a new lovely leading lady, the third robot-tastic installment is in 3-D. And it wasn’t converted in postproduction, like a few of the recent 3-D films out there. Director Michael Bay insisted that his first foray into the three-dimensional medium be as authentic and technologically advanced as possible. Lately there has definitely been a bit of 3-D fatigue in the air. When MTV News caught up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley at the film’s worldwide premiere in Moscow recently, we asked for her thoughts on the 3-D element of “Dark of the Moon.” “I will be the judge of that after I see this film, because I have never seen a movie in 3-D,” she revealed. “When Michael told me it was going to be in 3-D, I said, ‘Right, I’m going to wait,’ and now we’re here, we’re at the premiere stage and I’m going to wait until [I’m in] London and see it with my family.” So when Whiteley finally watches the 3-D version of the film with her family and friends, will she be watching herself on the big screen or watching her family’s reactions? “I’m going to be watching them watching me,” she said with a laugh. Bay has made a big deal of the fact that he initially had a lot of reservations about 3-D, explaining that his buddy director James Cameron finally convinced him to go for it with this film. “[James Cameron], at the last minute, goes, ‘Mike, come on,’ ” Bay recalled , imitating the “Avatar” director’s enthusiasm with a slightly deep and gravelly inflection in his voice. “This is like my idol. He goes, ‘Mike, come on, we’ve done everything.’ I’m thinking, ‘I haven’t done everything.’ ” Cameron pushed him to try out this “new toy,” and despite all the headaches that were added to the filmmaking process with shooting in 3-D, he’s glad he did it. “3-D, it’s pretty great when you see these robots interact in the space,” Bay said. ‘Twilight’ Star Nikki Reed Is ‘The One’ For Paul McDonald

By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Paul McDonald Photo: MTV News Earlier this month, “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald and “Twilight” star Nikki Reed used the MTV Movie Awards as the perfect opportunity to take their engagement public, only months after they began dating. When MTV News caught up with McDonald at the “American Idol” season 10 tour press day in Los Angeles, the singer opened up about planning the big day. “Well, yeah, I’m not allowed to say too, too much about that stuff, but it’s going good,” he dished. “I love her to death.” While outside observers may have felt that the two were rushing to the altar, McDonald says that they fell in love at first sight, which was even more surprising for him. “She’s amazing. It’s kind of one of those things you don’t expect,” he said. “Like, last year I never would have thought I’d be getting married. She’s amazing. She’s the perfect girl. We fit each other; when you know you know and she’s the one.” His gushing sentiments about the actress seem to mirror ones she’s shared about him. Shortly after announcing their engagement, she reportedly told E! News, “He’s the one. He’s the one.” For now, McDonald is on the road with his fellow Idols through September, giving him enough time to nail down who he wants to get to sing at his reception, whenever that should take place. “Oh, I told Jacob Lusk he’s going to sing at my wedding and my funeral,” he joked. “Who knows? Maybe we’ll get the whole ‘Idol’ crew to be wedding singers. Maybe we’ll get Adam Sandler.”
