Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ Still Dominating YouTube

The 13-year-old singer’s ‘Friday’ video has amassed more views than Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way.’ By Jocelyn Vena Rebecca Black Photo: YouTube Whatever you may think of Rebecca Black, the girl is — dare we say it? — a star. She’s been a constant Twitter trend and she’s already beat Lady Gaga in YouTube views, as the official version of her polarizing clip for “Friday” has been watched more than 33.5 million times on the website. And now it seems that the 13-year-old is getting to cash in on her new-found fame. According to Forbes magazine the $2,000 Black’s mother shelled out to Los Angeles-based record company Ark Music Factory for the recording of the song and its lo-fi video has been made back many times over. By Forbes’ estimations, by the time the tune’s clip hit the 30 million YouTube view mark, everyone had profited $20,000 — a 1000-percent return on the original investment. In addition to the YouTube success, the song is being downloaded on iTunes, which reportedly pays 70 cents per single download, meaning that Black and her team could make upwards of $1 million. As of press time, “Friday” sat at the #33 spot on the iTunes chart. Black already has appeared on “Good Morning America,” where she defended her talents and her track and also shared that she’d love to work with fellow former YouTube sensation and teen idol Justin Bieber. She’s also had her song covered by Nick Jonas at a Jonas Brothers concert. “I think @nickjonas did an AMAZING job with Friday!” Black tweeted on Monday. “You’re amazing, Nick!” Despite being the target of derision by those who think that her tune and video aren’t up to professional standards, Black has received love and support from celebrities on Twitter. And she’s set to appear on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday night (March 22). What do you think about Rebecca Black’s success? Tell us in the comments. ‘Skins’ Star Eleanor Zichy Previews Season Finale

Monday night (March 21), fans will learn more about Eura, Tony’s sister. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi “Skins” star Eleanor Zichy as Eura Photo: Jason Nocito As the premiere season of “Skins” wraps up Monday night (March 21), the show is in many ways coming full circle. The season opened with a look at Tony, a cad and manipulator who plays by his own rules. Throughout the first nine episodes, all of the characters have showed different sides of themselves and their lives. The finale will take a look at Tony’s younger sister, Eura. “Eura is Tony’s younger sister, and she remains very mysterious throughout the series,” Eleanor Zichy explained to MTV News. “She’s not in every episode, but she comes up very sporadically — sometimes with the group, most of the time not … until the final episode, where you’ll get to know more about her.” While it seems that Zichy’s character hasn’t always been at the center of the action (and there’s been plenty of it), that’s about to change. “Eura is the younger sister, so there’s a bit of a discontent,” she described. “You’ll see something between Cadie and Eura, and Chris considers her Tony’s weird little sister.” While the episode will certainly have fans talking Tuesday morning, the show has had lots of attention throughout its nine-week run. Some loved it, and others wondered if it was too racy for teens. But the cast has always made the point that the show is about a lot more than just sex and drugs . “All we have to say is … you have to watch it and see the story lines, the friendships, the politics between these kids, what their relationships are,” Zichy explained. “They’re like a family.” Don’t miss the “Skins” season finale Monday (March 21) at 10 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. Central on MTV. Selena Gomez Plans Britney Spears Tribute For Her Tour

But she won’t be trying to copy Brit’s dance moves: ‘I wouldn’t want to butcher it!’ By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Selena Gomez Photo: MTV News Selena Gomez is a die-hard Britney Spears fan, so when she hits the road on her upcoming tour, she plans to pay homage to the Femme Fatale herself. “We haven’t announced anything yet, but I’m kind of creatively thinking of what I want,” she told MTV News. “We are working on a few cover songs. We are working on a Britney tribute, which I’m so stoked about, ’cause I love Britney. I was like, ‘I have to do it.’ I wanna do a mash-up of all her songs and just go for it.” The tribute will look to the past and to the future in terms of Spears’ discography, Gomez teased. “Were gonna do a little tribute. We’re gonna do her hits, ‘ … Baby One More Time,’ and then I think we’re going to try to incorporate ‘Toxic’ and that phase,” she said. “And then we might do some of her recent, new stuff.” While she may sing some of Spears’ biggest hits, she has no plans to re-create any of her famous dance moves. “I don’t think so. I’m not going to even touch Britney!” she said. “She’s so good. I wouldn’t want to butcher it. I’m just going to pay tribute to her! I’m gonna say she’s awesome.” Gomez is also very excited for March 29 to come around — that’s the day Spears releases her new album, Femme Fatale. “I’m so excited, and I’m ready to hear all of it,” Gomez gushed. When she spoke to Ryan Seacrest recently, Gomez shared that Spears’ show was the first concert she ever went to. “We were in the nosebleeds with my cousin,” she recalled. “I got the T-shirt and glow stick. and I just remember it being the highlight of my life! I felt like I was on cloud nine!” Which Britney songs do you want Selena to perform? Share your ideas in the comments! Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Selena Gomez

Nick Jonas Wishes ‘The Best’ For Demi Lovato

‘She’s been in all of our thoughts and prayers, for sure,’ Nick tells E! News about his former tourmate. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas Photo: Andrew H. Walker/ Getty Images Demi Lovato is making strides toward the spotlight again after entering treatment last fall, when she left her tour with the Jonas Brothers early to deal with some personal issues. Now that the Disney star is out, freshly tatted and back on Twitter, it seems that one of her former tourmates, Nick Jonas, has some kind words for her. “I think that [we’re] always wishing the best for her,” Nick told E! News about his “Camp Rock” co-star. “And hoping that she’s had a good, healthy recovery. She’s been in all of our thoughts and prayers, for sure.” It’s a sentiment that’s been shared by Nick’s brothers in previous interviews. Joe Jonas, who dated Demi for a short time last year, kept his statements brief in the latest issue of Details magazine, but did say, “I wish her the best.” Back in December, Kevin Jonas appeared on MTV’s “The Seven” and, while he hadn’t spoke with Lovato at the time, he did send her some well-wishes. “I really haven’t had any contact [with her],” he said. “Of course, we wish her well in her recovery.” Since rejoining Twitter earlier this week, Demi has been sending out encouraging words to her fans and even sharing what she’s been doing in her downtime. Her activities have included wearing heels despite her sprained ankle and hanging out with reality starlet Kim Kardashian. “Happy birthday to @RobKardashian!! A true friend who has always had my back and I’ll always have his!! BTW – nice dress,” she wrote before giving a shout-out to his older sister. “@KimKardashian so amazing. Hahahaha love you so much!” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Demi Lovato Related Artists Jonas Brothers Demi Lovato

By Jocelyn Vena Dave Grohl Photo: Gareth Cattermole/ Getty Images The Foo Fighters are the latest rock stars taking aim at “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy. In a new interview, Dave Grohl says that Murphy shouldn’t complain when bands don’t want to include their music on his hit Fox show. The “Glee” creator has butted heads with Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash and had an epic war of words with Kings of Leon . Now the Foos are speaking out. “It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do f—ing ‘Glee,'” Grohl told The Hollywood Reporter. “And then the guy who created ‘Glee’ is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his f—ing show. … F— that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do ‘Glee.’ … I watched 10 minutes. It’s not my thing.” The band’s frontman isn’t the only Fighter who isn’t into the show. Drummer Taylor Hawkins feels the same as his bandmate. “The ‘Glee’ guy, what a f—ing jerk. Slash was the first one. He wanted to do Guns N’ Roses and Slash is like, ‘I hate f—ing musicals. It’s worse than “Grease.” ‘ Then [Murphy’s] like, ‘Well, of course he’d say that, he’s a washed-up ol’ rock star, that’s what they f—ing do.’ And then Kings of Leon say, ‘No, we don’t want to be on your show.’ And then he’s like, ‘Snotty little assholes.’ And it’s just like, dude, maybe not everyone loves ‘Glee,’ ” Hawkins said. “Me included. … Yeah, f— that sh–.” Related Artists Foo Fighters
