Kanye West’s Support Is ‘Good For Hip-Hop,’ 2 Chainz Says

‘I knew he was up there supporting me, period,’ 2 Chainz says of Kanye’s silent appearance on ‘106 and Park.’ By Nadeska Alexis, with reporting by Rob Markman Kanye West and 2 Chainz at BET’s “106 and Park” Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage During a February visit to “RapFix Live,” 2 Chainz broke the news to host Sway Calloway that he had been working with Kanye West for months, but now the cat is surely out of the bag. In addition to appearing on the new G.O.O.D. Music single “Mercy,” West popped up at 2 Chainz’s SXSW set , and this week he made a silent appearance alongside the Atlanta rapper on BET’s “106 and Park.” “That’s my dog and he doesn’t do press — he didn’t wanna do it period — and they kind of forced his hand,” 2 Chainz told MTV News of West’s “106 and Park” appearance, from the set of MTV’s “Hip Hop Squares . “I was like, ‘You don’t have to say nothing, bro,’ because at the end of the day I knew he was up there supporting me, period.” “I do a lot of things behind the scenes that people don’t know [about], and they only see [what happens] on ‘106 and Park,’ ” 2 Chainz continued. “So that would’ve been another event where they wouldn’t have known Kanye was back there, I wouldn’t have name-dropped, that would’ve been part of my process of just working hard and grinding it out.” Although ‘Ye’s appearance was clearly not planned, it seems like everything worked out for the best. “When he came out, it spilled the beans out the bag, but it was cool,” Chainz says. “It was good for hip-hop that he came out and showed support. He wasn’t trying to take the shine, but he’s just a megastar, anywhere he goes it’s gonna happen.” When he joined Sway on “RapFix Live,” 2 Chainz, formerly known as Tity Boi, explained the dynamic of his relationship with ‘Ye. “For the most part, when we started building our relationship, we found out we had more things in common than different from a musical standpoint,” he said. “It’s no secret that I came from the hustle background, from that trap, and it’s no secret that he’s maybe more of a hipster swag, backpack kinda guy. So I think it’ll be interesting when you just drop that in the pot, in the blender, and see the outcome and results of some of that.” 2 Chainz’s upcoming album Based on a T.R.U. Story is set for an August 14 release, with the first official single slated to drop on May 1. What did you think of Kanye’s silent appearance on ‘106 and Park’? Leave your comment below! Nas ‘Loved’ Linking Up With Nicki Minaj For ‘Champion’

‘If I feel it, I can get on it,’ Nas tells MTV News about his collabo on Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Nadeska Alexis Nicki Minaj Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage When Roman gets reloaded on April 3, it looks like Nicki Minaj ‘s alter ego will have some backup. On Friday (March 16), the Harajuku Barbie unveiled the track list of Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Of course, Young Money counterparts Lil Wayne and Drake make appearances, but so do Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Cam’ron, Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz, not to mention Nas on a song called “Champion.” “Nicki hit us up, I got love, so it was nothin’ — I did the record,” Nas told MTV News on Saturday night before his show at South by Southwest. “Champion” also features Drake and Young Jeezy, and based off the features, one can assume that fans will see Nicki in full-on MC mode, as opposed to the pop presence on her current single “Starships.” It’s a duality Nicki embraces. “I guess I am pop culture just because what I’m doing seems to be popular. When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular,” she told MTV News after her NBA All-Star Game performance in February. While fans wait to see how Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded holds up sonically, Nas gives his own assurance for “Champion.” For the Queensbridge, New York, MC, it all boils down to a simple feeling: “It’s hip-hop music; music is music. If I feel it, I can get on it. I heard the track, I felt it, I loved it.” What are you expecting from Nas, Drake and Young Jeezy’s Nicki Minaj collaboration? Tell us in the comments! In Dirty Nasty Pedophile News: 8 Victims To Testify Against Jerry “Super Shady Skankball” Sandusky

It’s time for this nasty muhfugga to go down!!! All eight of the boys allegedly sexually abused by former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky will testify against him when preliminary hearings in the case begin next week, according to people close to the case. News that all eight victims will testify against Sandusky is a blow to his defense. Sandusky’s lawyer, Joe Amendola, previously told ABC News that at least one of the boys had denied that he was abused. Sandusky is accused of molesting eight boys over a 15-year period. A key allegation against the 67-year-old former coach was that he was seen raping a boy about the age of 10 in the showers in 2002. The grand jury report said the identity of the boy, called Victim 2, was not known, but Amendola told ABC News that he believed the defense knew who the boy was and talked to him. “The kid is … now grown up, he’s in his 20s. He’s adamant that nothing sexual occurred,” Amendola said last month. The lawyer said that, at the time of the accusation, Sandusky provided the boys name to Penn State after he was confronted with accusation. Amendola said he expected others might also come forward in Sandusky’s defense. Attorney Michael Boni, who represents the now-teenage boy known as Victim Number 1 — who was the first to come forward to accuse Sandusky — said that the times with the former coach were horrifying for the victims of his alleged crimes. “These were, quote, ‘precious’ moments for him,” Boni said. “In fact, they were the most vile, horrendous, unspeakable moments for his victims.” Dr. Michael Welner, an ABC News consultant and a forensic psychiatrist, said he finds the evidence against Sandusky compelling. “They had a discussion in this interview about barriers,” said Welner. “There are no barriers. Sexual assault is a process; it’s the end point of a process of grooming. It didn’t just happen, he orchestrated it, and yet to see that interview, you would think that it just happened, and it’s up to you as a jury or audience to see whether it’s illegal or not.” Truly disgusting. SMH at “precious moments”…this sick bastard needs to be locked up forever. Source

‘I’m back with Dr. Dre, which is a bonus and dope for me,’ Game tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Matt Elias Dr. Dre Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage For Game , the fourth time’s the charm. The former G-Unit rapper has high hopes for album #4, The R.E.D. Album, which is set to be released August 23. While a Game album is notable in its own right, the Compton, California, MC is particularly excited now that he has reunited with mentor Dr. Dre and snagged Pharrell to help oversee the production as well. “This album is the most incredible album of my career,” Game said to MTV News from the set of his “Pot of Gold” video shoot last week. “First, I’m back with Dr. Dre, which is a bonus and dope for me. Second, executive-produced by Pharrell, co-executive-produced by myself and Mars.” There is also production from Cool & Dre, Hit-Boy, Maestro and Lex Luger and features ranging from Nelly Furtado to Lil Wayne to Busta Rhymes. “And Dre’s rapping on the album,” Game revealed. Dre, who oversaw Game’s debut, The Documentary, has played a limited role in the rapper’s career since Game’s fallout with 50 Cent, who is also signed to Dre’s Aftermath imprint. Since then, the West Coast production icon hasn’t lent beats or his vocals to any of Game’s subsequent albums. In 2009, studio pictures of Dr. Dre, Game and Snoop surfaced, proving that the two were back to work in some capacity. Game wouldn’t confirm whether Dre provided a full verse or a hook. When asked, he just blurted out the album’s release date: “August 29.” What are you expecting from a new Game/Dre collabo? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists The Game Dr. Dre

Biggie, 14 Years Later: Jadakiss Recalls His B.I.G. Birthday Bash

On the anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s death, the LOX rapper remembers how much it meant to have Biggie at his party. By Jayson Rodriguez Jadakiss Photo: Johnny Nunez/ WireImage For an upstart Yonkers MC, having the “King of New York” at your birthday party is worth more than a guest verse on a song. And for Jadakiss, then a rookie sensation as a part of the LOX on Bad Boy Records, he remembers vividly the night the Notorious B.I.G. graced his bash with his presence. It took all of the rapper’s mettle to muscle up the nerve to even ask Biggie, his labelmate, to come to the party. “We were still new at Bad Boy, so we used to play our part,” ‘Kiss told MTV News, sharing his fondest memory of the Brooklyn lyricist on the 14-year anniversary of his death. “We were real humble. We wouldn’t ask for too much or none of that. But I remember thinking I needed Big to come to my birthday party. I was having my birthday party uptown at a spot called Mo Better. When the moment was right, I was like, ‘Yo, Big, I’m having a birthday this and that, think you could come through for me? Come through right quick?’ “That took all, for me to build up that energy to ask. It was amazing,” Jada recalled, laughing at the memory. “And he was like, ‘When?’ I said, ‘Tomorrow.’ He said, ‘Yeah, I’mma be there and chill with you.’ ” ‘Kiss was nervous, though, and he kept the invite on the hush. Then Big and Lil’ Cease pulled up to the party in a Lexus truck. “He chilled with me all night, popping bottles, chilling. I said, ‘This is amazing.’ The points I scored with Y.O. that night was incredible,” he said of gaining hometown respect. “Dudes was coming up to him, amazed that it was him. He was passing out champagne and cigars,” ‘Kiss added. “I said, ‘I’m the man right now. I got Big at my party. I’m chilling.’ ” Share your Notorious B.I.G. memories in the comments below.
