Demi Lovato Reveals Her Tour Wardrobe Inspiration: Rihanna

‘I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,’ Lovato says of her tour attire. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: MTV News Demi Lovato is currently on the road with the Jonas Brothers for their “Camp Rock 2” tour, and she has one killer wardrobe, complete with bedazzled boots, lots of funky jewelry and cool, little dresses. So Lovato, who has admitted to shopping on tour, was a bit nervous when she gave MTV News a behind-the-scenes look at her outfits for the tour. Lovato said that in the weeks leading up to the trek, she really had to focus and nail down the looks she wanted for her performances, which would include sets of her singing her own tunes as well as tunes from the “Camp Rock” movies. That means she needed looks that were both Lovato and Mitchie, her character from the movies. “When it comes to picking out outfits for the tour, I had a rack that filled out an entire warehouse,” she shared. “I just went through it and it took me like six, seven hours to fit all the outfits for the tour. It was fun!” One of those looks is an edgy black and feather dress that screamed Lady Gaga. “It’s a dress and I’ve never really performed my own set in a dress before,” she shared at a rehearsal days before the tour kicked off last week. “So I’m excited.” Another look was a sparkly teal dress that included some sky-high heels. “This is for one of the ‘Camp Rock’ looks that I sing the duet [‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’ with Joe Jonas] in, and here are the crazy shoes also,” she said. “I mean they’re not crazy like Lady Gaga, but for me they are. I’ve never performed in stilettos, so we’ll see how this goes.” Lovato also shows off a multicolored dress with a little bronze jacket that suits her “Camp Rock” alternate persona perfectly. “Here’s another ‘Camp Rock,’ dress. Not something I would typically wear, but my character would,” she explained. So, what inspires Lovato’s fashion choices for the show? “I feel like it’s more Rihanna than Lady Gaga. I’m a huge Rihanna fan and I also love spikes and anything leather,” she said, before showing off some heavy metal jewelry. “And I have this crazy jewelry. Actually this one [ring] is pretty crazy [with all its spikes], and the bracelets have twice as many spikes. Overall, I guess you can say there’s a ton of spikes in my wardrobe.” Related Videos MTV News Extended Play: Demi Lovato Related Artists Demi Lovato

Joe Jonas Gushes About Filming ‘Hot In Cleveland’ Cameo With Betty White

‘Watching Betty White knit is just so adorable,’ he tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Joe Jonas Photo: MTV News Somewhere in between preparing for and launching the current Jonas Brothers tour and starring in Disney’s “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam,” Joe Jonas found the time to do a guest spot on TV Land’s new hit, “Hot in Cleveland.” MTV News was invited to visit the set recently to catch a glimpse of the middle Jonas in action. In the episode, which airs Wednesday night (August 11), Jonas’ character comes to visit his newly transplanted mom, played by Valerie Bertinelli. In the scene we watched, mother and son sit down to reconnect at a restaurant, and Jonas plays the “typical aloof teen” to a T — he is texting friends throughout the conversation, despite his mom’s attempts to capture his attention. When we caught up with the 20-year-old between takes, Jonas said despite having prior sitcom work in his own TV series “JONAS” on the Disney Channel, work on the “Cleveland” set was a completely new experience. “We don’t have a live audience,” he said of the major difference. “And I’m hanging out with some amazing actresses. They are just incredible. Everyone on the set is just so talented. I’m playing Valerie’s son, and I’m having a lot of fun. We rehearsed, and we just shot our first scene together, so hopefully it will look all right.” Asked if TV veteran Bertinelli or co-stars Wendy Malick, Jane Leeves and Betty White had imparted any advice, Jonas said he was just trying to soak up everything from the actresses. “Just being around them, they are so talented that you just learn so much from them so quickly,” he said. “And hanging out with them and watching Betty White knit is just so adorable, so I’m having a great time.” Speaking of White, we threw Jonas a curveball by asking: If Joe could be any Golden Girl, which one would he be? “Betty, of course. Rose, yes,” he said. “It’s kinda an odd question to ask which Golden Girl I would be, but my favorite would just have to be Betty, because I know her now.” Will you check out Joe Jonas’ guest-starring role on “Hot in Cleveland”? Joe Jonas Says He’s ‘Working On Lots Of Music’

‘I’ve heard it,’ brother Nick says of Joe’s solo material. ‘It’s awesome.’ By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: MTV News While his brother Nick released a solo album earlier this year under his side project Nick Jonas and the Administration , Joe Jonas says he has no formal plans to go solo himself. But the middle Jonas, who made a cameo this week on TV Land’s “Hot in Cleveland,” admits he is working on some new music . “I didn’t say that,” he laughed when MTV News asked about a solo LP. “I said I’ve been working on lots of music. I’ve been working [with] lots of musicians having a great time.” While he wouldn’t get specific about what it is he’s working on, or whom he’s working on it with, Joe did add, “[I have] been writing with a lot of friends of mine and some artists here and there, and we’ll see what comes out it.” So, in the event that he does release some independent work, will he borrow Nick’s band name? “I leave the Administration stuff to Nick,” he quipped. Whatever he decides, it seems he’s got the full support of his bros. “I’ve heard it. It’s awesome,” Nick said, before Kevin chimed in, “It’s really good music.” With both Nick and Joe making strides to pursue their own endeavors apart from the band, we wondered, what has big brother Kevin been up to? “I’ve just been really enjoying the first year of marriage,” he explained. “So far, there’s a couple things in the pipeline for me and, I don’t know. There’s a lot going on and I just want to explore every option.” What would you like to see the JoBros do next? Tell us in the comments! Ashley Greene’s Short Shorts Will Do For Now

These are by no means as hot as yesterday’s Ashley Greene bikini pictures , but at least she’s not wearing her workout gear. Besides, if you’re not going to wear a bikini, short shorts aren’t a bad alternative. Sadly she was with one of those little Jonas Brothers characters, what the hell? I had to crop him out for my own sanity because the thought of her bumping uglies with one of those asswipes was too much for me to handle. Hopefully this has all been a misunderstanding.

Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato Create New ‘Camp’ Memories At Tour Kickoff

Saturday’s concert in Chicago featured duets, dance-offs and a generous helping of older hits. By Jocelyn Vena Jonas Brothers perform in Chicago on Saturday Photo: Tasos Katopodis/Getty Images TINLEY PARK, Illinois — After Demi Lovato played a raucous set of her original songs, some old-school “Camp Rock” numbers and a few tunes from the September 3 Disney Channel movie “Camp Rock 2,” Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas hit the stage for the inaugural stop of their new tour at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on a steamy Saturday night. The Jonas Brothers got their half of the party started with “Feeling Alive,” “Hold On” and “Year 3000,” and girls were immediately screaming, singing and dancing on their seats. “How are you guys doing tonight? You excited for ‘Camp Rock 2′?” Joe asked the crowd before dancers hit the stage for an uptempo, country-tinged new tune from the soundtrack. The guys played a number of songs off the soundtrack, and when Kevin asked for fans’ opinions of the new songs, he received a resounding cheer. The crowd went nuts when Demi came onstage to sing “This Is Me” along with the boys. Joe and Demi also played their new duet, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” “You guys are awesome,” Demi told everyone before saying good night. The next part of the night belonged to “L.A. Baby,” from their “JONAS L.A.” TV show. That led into a cover of the Beatles’ “Drive My Car.” After “Paranoid,” Joe and Kevin gave their little bro, Nick, the stage for his solo “Who I Am.” “Thank you so much for loving me for who I am,” he told everyone. Nick was rejoined by his brothers and took to the piano for “Fly With Me.” Then, girls went crazy for the ballad “When You Look Me in the Eyes.” Telling the fans they were going to “take them back in time,” the Jonases played “Please Be Mine” as photos of the guys from over the years showed on a screen behind them. Then the stage was transformed into a swanky jazz club, complete with dancers in ’20s garb, for “Lovebug.” For the encore, brought out their hits “S.O.S.” and then “Burnin’ Up.” And on this sweltering night, it took little to make the crowd burn up themselves, but Nick stripping down to a tank top made the girls scream even more as the show drew to a close. Jonas Brothers Promise Old And New JoBros Hits On Summer Tour

‘I think from the minute you walk in to when the last note is played, it’ll be a full night of music,’ Kevin teased. By Jocelyn Vena Jonas Brothers Photo: MTV News CHICAGO — While the Jonas Brothers will be joined by Demi Lovato and a number of their “Camp Rock 2” pals for their big tour, which kicks off Saturday outside Chicago, the guys want their fans to know that this is still very much a JoBros tour. And fans will get a bonus treat, thanks to all the special guests. “When you’re coming in to see the show, I think from the minute you walk in to when the last note is played, it’ll be a full night of music and entertainment,” Kevin told MTV News during a break from rehearsals at the First Midland Bank Amphitheatre. “And we have so many friends out on the road and so many things to be able to integrate into our show.” But fans of Jonas hits like “Lovebug” and “SOS” shouldn’t fret; the guys have been making sure their own songs are getting plenty of airtime during the show. “We are doing a Jonas Brothers set, and it’s actually a lot,” Kevin added. He said fans will even be treated to some oldies but goodies. “We’re playing a lot of Jonas Brothers songs, and we’re integrating ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘JONAS L.A.’ songs [and] songs from our past. We’re really excited.” Not only should fans be excited to catch the JoBros and their pals onstage, but the show also means the guys have a lot more friends to hang out with on the road. “It’s been a lot of fun,” Joe said. “We had a great time shooting the movie with those guys, so to kind of be backstage, there’s a lot of people on this tour. It’s cool for us to hang out with them all the time.” Earlier that day at a news conference at the House of Blues , the guys said that if they did find any downtime at all, they had a few places they like to hang out in Chi-Town. “Millennium Park is always a lot of fun. On my tour back in January, I took a trip up there,” Nick said. “Also, just walking the riverfront is amazing. It’s such a beautiful city. The fans here are some of the best in the world, I think.” Will you be checking the Jonas Brothers out on tour? Let us know in the comments! Demi Lovato Reveals Road Rituals Before Jonas Brothers Tour Kickoff

‘I like to do things that’ll change it up,’ she tells MTV News of exploring cities during ‘Camp Rock 2’ Tour. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: Akshay Bhansali CHICAGO — With just two days until Demi Lovato launches a tour with her “Camp Rock 2” friends the Jonas Brothers there isn’t much time left for her to have fun in Chicago, the first stop on their tour. But the singer said that when she gets into a city for a performance, she definitely has a few things she must do. “Well, sometimes there’s little errands, and sometimes I like to go shopping,” she told MTV News between rehearsals for Saturday night’s show at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. “[I try to] make it a little bit more exciting when I go into a city rather than just go into a city, go into the hotel, playing a show, get back on the bus. “So I like to do things that’ll change it up,” she said. “But I have my favorite places in some cities.” It’s easy for Lovato to find her favorite places in L.A., where she lives and occasionally finds herself stopping on tour. “I stay home and spend a lot of time with my family,” she said. “I go to Pinkberry [for frozen yogurt], and I just kind of get excited doing my own thing.” So back to the shopping: Does Lovato like to explore, or does she embrace her old standbys? “I’m a big shopper,” she said. “Given the amount of time that I have, I go to my favorite stores first, but then if I have time and I see a cute boutique store, I’ll go there.” What should Demi do with her downtime in Chicago? Will you be checking out her tour with the JoBros? Let us know in the comments! Stay tuned to MTVNews.com this weekend for our coverage of the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato’s tour kickoff!

Jonas Brothers Arrive In Chicago For Tour Kickoff

‘It’s such a beautiful city. The fans here are some of the best in the world, I think,” Nick says. By Jocelyn Vena Jonas Brothers Photo: MTV News CHICAGO — While the media, celebrities and musicians are descending upon Chicago to catch acts including Lady Gaga at Lollapalooza, tons of screaming girls are also coming to the city, albeit for a different reason: to see the Jonas Brothers , along with their pal Demi Lovato , kick off their latest tour. And when the guys hit the city on Wednesday, they made a very interesting observation. “We saw the [Lollapalooza] stage yesterday as we were pulling in,” Kevin Jonas told MTV News. “I was like, no way!” So, while the crew is in Chicago, do they have any big plans for their downtime? Little brother Nick explained that while in the city, he’d liked to take in some of the local sights. “Millennium Park is always a lot of fun. On my tour back in January, I took a trip up there,” he said. “Also, just walking the riverfront is amazing. It’s such a beautiful city. The fans here are some of the best in the world, I think,” Nick said. And, as Nick so graciously added, Chicago gave the guys one big milestone. “It’s where we played our first sold-out arena show,” he recalled. “So it’s got a very special place in our hearts.” Are you planning on seeing the Jonas Brothers on tour?
