Michelle Obama is coming to iCarly in an episode that will air in January. The First Lady paid a visit to the set of the Nickelodeon show this week. The guest appearance by Mrs. O is designed to raise awareness to Joining Forces, an initiative that supports and honors American military families. Executive producer Dan Schneider reportedly wrote the episode specifically for Michelle Obama and Joining Forces. Here she is arriving on the set … Michelle Obama on iCarly Set In the episode, the two BFFs of Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) break some rules to set up a web chat so Carly can speak to her dad serving overseas. The First Lady, who hears about the girls’ efforts, then comes to talk to them about the importance of connecting soldiers with their families. Sounds like a television event worth watching.
Christina Aguilera poses naked on the latest cover of W Magazine. This might make it difficult for any reader to focus on the interview inside, but that would be a shame. Because the singer touches on two of the obstacles that made the beginning of 2011 so challenging for her: Her split from Jordan Bratman. Her forgetting of the National Anthem lyrics prior to Super Bowl XLV. On why she and Bratman got divorced : “At one time or another, we were both not angels. It got to a point where my life at home was reminding me of my own childhood. I will not have my son grow up in a tension-filled home…” On the Super Bowl snafu : “Everything on the field at the Super Bowl was vividly bright, and I was having a moment. I got lost in the emotion of being there and I messed up the lyrics to the song.” Oh well. Christina has bounced back nicely, anchoring the panel on The Voice , this season’s top-rated new show.
Tears. Lots of tears. That’s what happens when things spiral out of control between Jill and Ramona . It’s the aftermath of their battle as The Real Housewives of New York City continue their Moroccan adventure. THG’s +/- recap breaks it down: “That will be a day rotting in hell before I kiss that woman’s ass.” Jill cries. Jill’s upset but then Luann jumps in saying she won’t let that happen. Then she storms off to find Ramona. Minus 7 for taking sides without having been in the room. Alex describes Luann as acting as though she were watching the Christians being fed to the lions and although I was taken aback by the description, I can’t disagree with it. Luann reacts with a strange combination of judgement, condescension, and glee.
So You Think You Can Dance is down to its final 20. How did it arrive at that number? Read on for a review of last night’s two-hour episode… The Contemporary Dancers – Ricky, Miranda, and Melanie ended up as finalists. Of the three I loved Miranda’s face when Nigel said “bad news” and how quickly she changed when she found out she was in. The fourth space was filled by one of the Mallory sisters. Sasha (the skinny one) was in, but Natalia (the diabetic) was cut, yet remained supportive. Stacey Tookey Contemporary Routine – I’m usually upset when they use dry ice in performances, but there were enough leaps and the smoke moved around well with the dancers’ turns. I’m not sure what the story was, but the performance covered some good area. I assume that all four dancers were supposed to be as lost as the song exclaimed, but it was mostly flowing ripped clothing looking pretty. The Hip-Hop Dancers – With seven hip-hop dancers left and no females (because Hero, Patty Anne and Princess Lockaroo) got cut too early, the male contestants took all the glory. Chris made it through, after auditioning last season and having to dance for his life during the jive. Joining him were Wadi, Tadd, and Robert “Wooo” Taylor Jr. Sadly, we lost the vertically challenged Lil’ O and Professor “Indubitably” Lot. Dave Scott Hip-Hop Routine – The routine was a bit simple looking in the group choreography and the people didn’t look that synchronized. When the contestants got moments to have their solos, they shined. I worry for all four when they get paired up with a contemporary girl and give a ballroom routine. The Ballroom Dancers – It was a tough season for the ballroom dancers. Ivetta and Lenny were the only two left. Lenny was the only male ballroom dancer and he was probably confident that since he was the only male ballroom contestant he’d slide right through. Sadly, he was cut. Ivetta was the only hope and would have been her last chance to be on the show because of her age. She finally made it through. Jason Gilkinson Latin Routine – Since Ivetta was the sole Ballroom dancer, she was paired up with All-Star Pasha. I love a good Paso Doble and I was blown away. Not many of the dancers could stand next to Pasha outside of Anya (his partner) but Ivetta was the center of the dance. She flowed so elegantly and her toned legs looked amazing. The Contemporary/Jazz Dancers – Because this show can’t admit that it has just a whole ton of contemporary dancers, it uses the phrase “Jazz” as if makes a difference. I would have placed Sasha Mallory more in Jazz. We welcomed Clarisse and Marko. As for the naughty, female dancers, both Jordan and Missy made it in. Sonya Tayeh Jazz Routine – I missed Sonya’s choreography; it had that jazz spirit and the edginess. It seemed like Marko had a bit of an issue with a few of the lifts and I wasn’t sure it was because of the bullet in his arm or the fact that one of the girls looked heavier than the others. The “Other Male” Category – Jess and Nick were the lone representatives of Broadway and Tap, respectively. Jess was called out for being a bit cocky and a little uncomfortable in some of the other genres. Luckily for Nick, there was space for him as well. I guess with no Ballroom dancer, it was easier to say yes to the tapper. Christopher Scott Tap Routine – I’ve seen the “Rich Guy/Poor Guy” routines a lot before and the biggest issue I had was that the camera focused on only one dancer at a time in the beginning half of the performance. I was quite happy to see Jess doing some tap when I don’t think we were told he had any knowledge (Nigel hinted that four girls also knew Tap so we could actually see a tap routine during the competition). The Final Five Dancers – The judges were looking for three girls and two guys to fill in the spots. Caitlyn, who had star quality, was easily in. She was quickly followed by Ashley. Mitchell was nervous in front of the judges but was in. The final two girls were Ryan and Alexa; the two looked and acted like fake blonde twins. Alexander and Jeremiah were the last two males. Though both Jeremiah and Ryan were repeat contestants we followed last episode, Ryan was the only one to make it through. The final two were Alexander and Ryan. How do you feel about the top 20?

Band’s first song since the departure of Josh and Zac Farro seems to address breakup. By James Montgomery Paramore Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images “You” can be a worrisome word. A weighty one. By its very definition — “the one or ones being addressed” — it is up for interpretation, and when it’s used in a song, things get even more muddy. Does “you” refer to the listener or the public at large? Does it take the place of the subject of the lyric, someone who has wronged, inspired, doubted, betrayed the writer? Or does “you” even have to be a person? Couldn’t someone “want” or “love” a refreshing beverage or an old car or, you know, drugs? Shoot, now that we’re on the subject, maybe we’re never supposed to figure out who or what “you” is referring to (the classic example, of course, being Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” which is apparently about Warren Beatty … or David Geffen … or David Bowie, depending on whom you ask). I only bring this up because in Paramore’s brand-new song “Monster,” which premiered Friday on the band’s official
Drake is so cool, he gets paid “just to be there.” At least that is what he told #5 Magazine; in the same issue they dubbed Nicki Minaj “The Queen Of New York.” Drake says his first paycheck came from Hip Hop producer Dr. Dre. The Young Money artist then describes the first fight he ever had. What was the first record you bought? I think it was Queen Latifah “U.N.I.T.Y.” That was like the first cassette that I had. On his first paycheck It was from Dr. Dre for $10,000 just for being there. On his first kiss First kiss is a blur a bit because it was like, “I don’t even know if I kissed that girl.” I’d say the most memorable kiss I had was with this girl Jade Lee. We kissed this one time on the roof of my mom’s old house. We wrote our names on it. It was like some real romantic type ish. On his first fight It wasn’t much of a fight, I got my a** whopped. I got jumped at this thing we call “sports weekend” way back in the day. You drive out to Windsor and I was mouthing off to somebody and caught it one time. On the last pair of sneakers that he bought It gotta be Jordan. I rep Jordan all day. On the last car he purchased It was an Aston Martin but then I gave it back because I want to get this Ferrari Italia. ‘They might’ve come to see Dirty Money but you’re going to leave thinking about me,’ singer says. By Vaughn Schoonmaker Lloyd Photo: MTV News Lloyd was in New York recently as the opening act for Diddy-Dirty Money’s Coming Home Tour . He sat down with MTV News to discuss his upcoming album, his first concert and what it’s like to open for one of hip-hop’s biggest and baddest names. Atlanta-based R&B singer Lloyd recalled how he became Diddy’s opening act after encountering Diddy on a trip to Los Angeles. “Me, Polow Da Don and the whole Zone 4 crew went to UCLA for our daily routine working out, and one day Diddy came to work out with us. I remember Diddy actually talking to me while I was in the middle of some exercises and I wouldn’t look at him. He would just say, ‘Come on, man! Smile, man! Be happy!’ And I was just like, ‘I don’t want to smile. I just want to focus.’ ” While many would have basked in the opportunity to converse with one of hip-hop’s greatest living legends, Lloyd simply wanted to finish his grueling workout. Diddy seemed to take something from that conversation. “I think that he just admired something about seeing how driven I was at the time,” Lloyd recounted. “I think he could relate to and respect that.” The 25-year-old singer entered the mainstream music scene when he signed to the Inc. Records back in 2004, in the days when he was closely associated with co-founder Ja Rule and labelmate Ashanti. He parted ways with the Inc. in 2009 and has since landed himself a new deal with Interscope. He recalls that his path to success came with a lot of hard work and sacrifice. “I sacrificed a lot of my childhood for music,” he said, showing no signs of regret, only pride. “I signed my first record deal when I was 10.” Lloyd excitedly shared a coincidental fact about an inspiring moment. “My very first concert was a Diddy show in Atlanta,” he said, smiling. “Puff came out and he just rocked it, man. I had never experienced anything like that.” Now Lloyd performs on the same stage as the star he admired so much as a kid. “Diddy’s one of the first people to take hip-hop to a popular music standpoint,” Lloyd noted. “He’s the godfather of hip-hop!” Lloyd is humbled by his current circumstances. “I really enjoy being an opening act because I look at it as an opportunity to earn new fans,” he said. Old fans and new fans alike can look forward to his upcoming fourth album, King of Hearts, hitting stores in June. “It’s going to be my best work to date,” he promised, hinting about some “real cool surprise collaborations.” “I heard a rumor that I was doing a song with Andre 3000 and Lil Wayne,” Lloyd teased. Lloyd expressed some high hopes for this tour when it comes to acquiring Diddy fans. “They might’ve come to see Dirty Money but you’re going to leave thinking about me,” he promised. Critics are applauding the God of Thunder’s big-screen debut. By Kara Warner Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in “Thor” Photo: Paramount Pictures The golden-locked God of Thunder has finally descended upon theaters. “Thor,” starring brawny Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth, tells the tale of a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. As a result, his father, Odin (Anthony Hopkins), banishes Thor to Earth, where he meets humans Jane (Natalie Portman), Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Dr. Eric Selvig (Stellan Skarsg
