The Sylvester Stallone-helmed vehicle, which was written and directed by Sly, was the #1 movie on Saturday with $11.8 million. The pulpy throwback to the firepower-packed ’80s films that Sly favored back in the day, was also the top draw at theaters on Friday as well. Featuring a cornucopia of muscled-up stars like Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke, the film is on track to own the entire weekend with an estimated $35 million in ticket sales. The big-screen version of Elizabeth Gilbert’s smash memoir, “Eat Pray Love, ” had a strong showing as well, pulling in $8.1 million. Droves of moviegoers checked out Academy Award-winning screen queen Julia Roberts munch and muse her way to enlightenment on Saturday and pushed the film to the #2 spot. “Love,” which also stars Javier Bardem and James Franco, held the second-place spot for the second night in a row after taking in $8.5 million on Friday. The film is expected to make $23.7 million over the weekend. “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” pulled in a modest $3.5 million on Saturday. The movie, which features Michael Cera as a determined beau ready to battle his new gal pal’s ex-boyfriends, continued to slog through the weekend as the third-place debut. Although the CGI-laden flick makes “Scott” a rom-com for the digital generation, the film wasn’t able to overtake the top two debuts, which tout well-worn screen names such as Roberts and Stallone. “Scott” is expected to pull through the weekend with $10.5 million. ‘Eat Pray Love’ ‘s Julia Roberts, Javier Bardem Debate: No Food, Faith Or Sex?

‘Why do I have to choose?’ Bardem pleads. ‘The movie is called ‘Eat Pray Love,’ the three of them together.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Javier Bardem attends the L.A. premiere of “Eat Pray Love” Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images Life is all about choices, isn’t it? In “Eat Pray Love,” Julia Roberts decides to abandon her life as an unhappy working mother and embark on a globe-crossing trip to discover the keys to true personal and professional contentment. And on the “Eat Pray Love” red carpet on Tuesday evening in New York City, we forced Roberts and her castmates to make a series of tough choices — choices that may not have life-altering consequences but which most certainly demand attention … and generated a whole lot of giggles. First, we asked the stars which were the true words to live by: “eat, pray, love” or, as the “Jersey Shore” mantra goes, “gym, tan, laundry”? Then we got to the nitty-gritty: If these celebs had to give up one thing — eating, faith or sex — which would they part with? Not that all of the castmembers were pleased to be forced into making such a life-changing (albeit hypothetical) choice. “Why? Why? Why do I have to?” Roberts asked with a smile. “I can’t. No. No. But I don’t have to.” OK, OK. Director Ryan Murphy, conversely, decided he could cut breakfast, lunch and dinner from his daily routine. “I’m going to say I’m going to give up the eating and let love be my food,” he declared. Billy Crudup, meanwhile, seemed to misunderstand our fundamental question. “Did you say laundry?” he said with a groan. “Because I’ll give up laundry.” And then we came to Javier Bardem, who made quite the convincing argument for indulging in eating, faith and sex all at once. “Why do I have to choose?” he said “No, the movie is called ‘Eat Pray Love,’ the three of them together. Exactly, we all need all three. The movie and the book speaks about that. We need to feed ourselves with the three of them. And the pray thing, I’m not a believer or I’m not a practitioner. I don’t practice religion, so but we all have faith in something. So, we all need to pray and close our eyes when things go wrong, right?” Which would you give up if you had to choose? Eating, faith or love? Share your thoughts in the comments! ‘Glee’ Creator Ryan Murphy And Javier Bardem Talk Guest Spot

‘He wants to be a Spanish rock star, and I’m like, ‘What about a janitor?’ ‘ Murphy tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Javier Bardem Photo: James Devaney/ WireImage On Tuesday night at the “Eat Pray Love” red carpet , the focus was on all things culinary, spiritual and passionate — for the most part. But with director Ryan Murphy also happening to be the creator of a certain hit musical TV show, talk often turned positively “Glee”-riffic. Murphy dished to us about Britney Spears’ upcoming guest spot on the series and also spilled a couple clues about Javier Bardem’s future appearance on the show. “He wants to be a Spanish rock star, and I’m like, ‘What about a janitor?’ ” laughed Murphy, who also said he wants Bardem to don that less-than-flattering bowl cut he sported in the Oscar-winning drama “No Country for Old Men.” Bardem, for his part, got a chance to weigh in on that hairstyle choice Tuesday, since he stars alongside Julia Roberts in “Eat Pray Love” and also walked the carpet. Asked about the possibility of once again rocking his “No Country” locks, Bardem set the record straight. “That haircut is passed,” he said. That is pretty much the conclusion Murphy came to, though he continues to hold out hope for Bardem to undergo a coiffure epiphany. “I might want him to,” the Gleek-in-chief said. “I don’t think he will.” They won’t shoot that scene until the winter, so we suppose there’s ample time for creative negotiation. Bardem, though, knows exactly what he wants to do. “I said to him I will do a rock and roll star that sings so bad that they shut down the whole school,” he said.
