Brooks Laich plays professional hockey for a living. But the athlete just made his most impressive score to date, very far away from the ice… … by marrying Julianne Hough! In romantic news broken by People Magazine, Laich and the Dancing with the Stars veteran exchanged vows in front of approximately 200 guests on Saturday afternoon. The intimate affair was held outside near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. And Hough sounds pretty darn psyched about it. “I don’t think I ever really necessarily dreamed about my wedding as a kid,” Hough told the aforementioned publication, adding: “But I know I will always cherish and remember it for the rest of my life.” Hough reportedly donned a Custom Marchesa gown for her big day, along with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She was given away by her dad. In keeping with his name, meanwhile, Brooks suited up in a Brooks Brothers tuxedo. These guests sat on wooden pews for the outdoor ceremony; they were surrounded by roses and tulips with flower boxes filled with billowing blooms, wild grasses and seasonal foliage. “It was really important to me that we had our ceremony outdoors,” explained Laich. “Julianne and I are very adventurous and free and wanted the setting to be in nature.” Among the famous names on hand to help the stars celebrate were Derek Hough, Aaron Paul, Mark Ballas and Nina Dobrev. Hough and Laich’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lexi and Harley, even sported flowered collars for the ceremony and served as ring bearers. How adorable!!!!!! Hough and Laich announced their engagement in August 2015 after dating for about a year and a half. “We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love,” Hough wrote as a caption to an image of her in her man’s arms (below). She later told E! News: “When I met him it was kind of like, Yeah, I knew and I think he knew too. We kind of knew it was going to happen.” The question now, of course, is whether wedding night sex happened between the couple. We wouldn’t usually pry in such a manner, but Hough may have been the most famous virgin alive over the past several years. She always said she was saving herself for marriage. And now she’s married! It’s wedding season, y’all! This particular time of year, people seem to like to get married, celebrities and normal folk alike. And it seems like Dancing with the Stars power couple Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are those kind of people. Yesterday, Maksim and Peta got married in an absolutely gorgeous ceremony at an actual castle in Long Island. And, unlike most celebrities, they allowed their guests to take photos throughout the ceremony and reception, and to share those photos on social media. That’s how we have that beautiful photo of Maksim and Peta dancing during their wedding reception, and photos of … well, you’ll see! Since both the bride and groom are professional dancers on Dancing with the Stars, it makes sense that many, many stars of the show were there — both in attendance and in the wedding party. Not all of them though, because Julianne Hough also got married yesterday . See what we mean about it being wedding season? Val Chmerkovskiy, Maksim’s brother and another dancing pro, was the best man, and Tony Dovolani was one of his groomsmen. Meanwhile, Peta chose Sharna Burgess and one-time celebrity contestant Rumer Willis as two of her bridesmaids. Nyle DiMarco and Candace Cameron Bure were guests to the couple’s big day — Candace and Maks even shared a dance during the reception! Peta was walked down the aisle by her father, and her dress was an ivory ball gown fit for a princess. Maksim chose a stylish white jacket for his wedding ensemble — doesn’t he look so handsome? After the wedding, the couple spent some time outside with their guests before moving indoors for the reception. For their first dance, they didn’t show off like you might think a couple of people famous for their dancing skills would. Instead, they kept things simple. Simple and adorable. Speaking of adorable, Maks actually sang to Peta at one point. Can you even handle how precious this whole thing sounds? At one point during the reception, Peta left to change into her second gown of the night: a feathered dress that looked to be a bit easier to move around in. It’s also worth noting that both Peta and Maks looked painfully happy in each and every photo from their wedding. Sounds like a lovely day for lovely people, right? It’s also pretty special since the wedding comes six months, nearly to the day, after they gave birth to their first child, a boy named Shai Aleksander Chmerkovskiy. It was nearly a year before Shai was born that his parents got engaged, too — Maksim proposed to Peta in December of 2015.
