Oscar Nudity: Double Nominees Show Award Winning Skin [PICS]

For a Hollywood actress, the ultimate double shot is being nominated for two acting Oscars in the same year (unless you’re Lindsay Lohan , in which case the ultimate double shot is lifting two bottles of tequila at Discount Liquor Mart). Here’s a sampling of our favorite ladies who’ve received this rare honor: Ravishing redhead Julianne Moore is the most recent nominee on our list, nominated in 2002 for her roles in Far from Heaven and The Hours . But you have to go back all the way to 1993 for a glimpse of her famous firecrotch (and buns) in Short Cuts . Also in 1993, Holly Hunter received two nominations for her roles in The Firm and The Piano . We get firm thinking about tinkling Holly’s ivories, shown here in glorious rear view in The Piano . Icy British beauty Emma Thompson was nominated the same year for her roles in The Remains of the Day and In the Name of the Father . Mr. Skin will spend the remains of this day reminiscing about Emma’s rack in The Tall Guy (1989) . 5’10” glamazon Sigourney Weaver was nominated in 1988 for her roles in Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl . Sigourney didn’t show her beaver in those films, though she played a lady of the night in Working Girl , but she graciously compensated by flashing full frontal in A Map of the World (2000) . Mr. Skin’s favorite pair still comes in mammary form, but we’re willing to be flexible for you, ladies! Stay tuned for more Academy-Award winning nudity all this week on the Mr. Skin blog !

Cher Voices Frustration Over ‘Burlesque’ Oscar Song Snub

‘We didn’t get a nomination 4 best song! That sucks!’ the icon tweeted about ‘ You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me.’ By James Dinh Cher Photo: Frederick M. Brown/ Getty Images After the Academy Award nominations were announced on Tuesday morning, “Burlesque” star Cher made it clear she wasn’t going to be celebrating with the nominees. The icon wasn’t pleased with the lack of recognition for her Diane Warren-penned tune “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” from the flashy musical, and she took to Twitter to express her frustration. While it was overlooked by the Academy, the “Burlesque” song recently scored a Golden Globe for Best Original Song. “We didn’t get a nomination 4 best song ! That sucks ! Diane’s song Is so beautiful !” Cher wrote . “It’s hard to understand how u win. Then she referred to her Globes win: “The Golden Globe 4 BEST SONG & not even get nominated by the OSCARS? Oh well it is..what it is ,,,,the sun is still shining !” Baffled by the snub, Cher even contemplated whether it was her role as the song’s performer that impacted its Oscar odds, writing, “maybe she would have had a better chance if someone else was singing it ?!! IT JUST CANT B HER SONG I” The Golden Globe awards are typically seen as a good forecast for the Oscars, but the awards aren’t a guarantee of Oscar love. A handful of stars from Oscar-nominated movies weren’t recognized by the Academy , including Mila Kunis (“Black Swan”), Andrew Garfield (“The Social Network”) and Julianne Moore (“The Kids Are All Right”). Do you think Cher’s “Burlesque” tune was deserved an Oscar nomination? Tell us in the comments! Which Oscar Nominees Are Nomi-nude on MrSkin.com?

Like the Golden Globes did earlier, this year the Academy had decided to reward the actresses who had the courage to get naked and/or make out with another chick on screen with a coveted Oscar nomination. In the Best Actress category, four of the five nominees are naked on MrSkin.com. Annette Bening , who was nominated for making out with Julianne Moore in The Kids Are All Right , showed off all 3 B’s in The Grifters . Nicole Kidman , nominated for Rabbit Hole , revealed her own rabbit hole when she got fully nude in Billy Bathgate . Natalie Portman , nominated for making out with Mila Kunis in Black Swan , is showing off her rear porthole in theaters this weekend in the romantic comedy No Strings Attached . And finally, Michelle Williams was nominated for baring boobs and butt in the NC-17 flick Blue Valentine . So if Jennifer Lawrence —the one nominee who didn’t get naked—doesn’t win the Oscar, she’ll know why.

Golden Globes Reward Onscreen Nudity, Girl-on-Girl

At the Golden Globes last night, Hollywood must have finally figured out what Mr. Skin has been screaming at the top of his lungs for over a decade: Movies must always be about nudity and girl-on-girl sex. If you’re not going to put boobs in your movies, then go produce stage shows in Branson, Missouri. The Kids Are All Righ t beat out the competition for Best Musical or Comedy (including the supremely disappointing Burlesque ) because it’s full of naked knockerage and MILFtastic lesbian coupling. Likewise, Annette Benning won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy because she appeared in a movie with naked chicks and made out with Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman won Best Actress in a Drama for making out with Mila Kunis and in the hopes that it would encourage her to do more nudity in the future. It even bleeds over into the Best Actor awards. Why do you think Paul Giamatti won for Barney’s Version ? Because it has T&A. It’s simple, Highly-Weird. If you want the Golden Globes, you’d better be showing us some.

The Event Convolution Alert: It’s Doubtful ‘Everything Will Change’

Sometimes, it’s nice for TV to carry a certain level of predictability — because at least that means it’s rooted in some discernible trajectory or consistent characterization or something . Not The Event though! Sure, there are times when, say, you could predict Thomas choking when he pulls a gun on his mother, but that’s less a character-based level of predictability, and more a we-can’t-kill-Laura Innes’-character level of predictability. The former leaves you nicely pleased with your own cleverness; the latter leaves you in a bloodied heap on your couch.
