Taylor Swift is never not on the radio. Goats are never not yelling like people. Okay, the first sentence rings truer than the second, but you probably get where we’re going with this. Or you’re just utterly confused. If so, sorry. Anyway, behold the musical brilliance that is Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and the viral Goats Yelling Like Humans video mashed up: Taylor Swift – I Knew You Were A Goat When You Walked In Don’t even play the bestiality card , One Million Moms. Goat FTW.
Katherine Webb is a perfect 10. This is evident to anyone who ogled Katherine Webb bikini pictures in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. But it’s also the opinion of the man who made Webb famous, as Brent Musberger was asked to sign a poster of the gorgeous brunette prior to calling this week’s Kansas/Iowa State basketball game. Approached by a student with a picture of Webb, Musberger happily obliged an autograph request and wrote along with his name: “She’s a 10!” The student then Tweeted the photo of himself and the 73-year old announcer, who made headlines in January when he gushed over Webb upon seeing her on screen at the BCS title game. Since then, Webb has gone on to post for SI; star in ABC’s celebrity diving competition; and increase her Twitter following by approximately 24 billion. The student (Matt Mummelthei), meanwhile, wants to re-connect Musberger and Webb, Tweeting at the latter yesterday morning: “If you could follow me and then DM me, I want to have you sign this poster of Brent and I!!”
Emio Tomeoni, a Kansas City dad, shot an amazing time lapse video to show his wife, Stephanie Ramos what goes on at home while she’s at work. The short answer: A ton of fun with 21-month-old Xavier! Dad-Toddler Time Lapse The video condenses their afternoon into four minutes. In typical toddler fashion, what begins with a clean living room quickly devolves into utter chaos. Diapers, toys, bongos, food … this day had everything! Mom, you really missed out.
My name is Emma, and I am 23 years old. My first Bieber Experience happened on October 19th, 2012 in Minneapolis, MN. I’ve been a fan of Justin’s for a few years now, but it wasn’t until the past 2 years or so that I became really active on Twitter to show my love and support. Everyone has their story as to how or why they became a fan. All I will say, without detail, is that the past few years of my life had been really rough. I had been going through several personal experiences in my life that had left me pretty emotionally damaged, including the recent death of my father. I gave in researched Justin in early 2010, and instantly fell in love with everything about him, his music, and what he stood for. Since that day he’s been my guiding light I guess you could say. He’s given me the hope, laughter, and love I needed to get me through. I could never thank him enough for that. Ever. On October 19th, a day before the show, my sister and I had arrived in Minneapolis and checked into our hotel. We had heard via Twitter that Justin was at the Mall of America. We hopped in the car and headed there, only to find out he had already left. Deep down, I never expected to see him at all…so I kept my expectations low to avoid feeling disappointed. Later on that night, with the help of some lovely Twitter ladies, I heard his grandparents had been spotted at the Grand Hotel earlier on that day. I decided to google the hotel out of curiosity, and it just so happened that his hotel was a short walking distance from ours! Again, I had no expectations but we had nothing to lose. We walked over to the hotel and sure enough there were probably about 30 girls or so waiting outside. They said they knew for a fact this was Justin’s hotel, and that he should be returning sometime soon. My sister and I stood off to the side, just enjoying the simple fact that he was actually here, in this city. But I never expected it to happen. A friend I knew from twitter, Meg, was inside the hotel waiting. She decided to come out to talk to us. Out of nowhere, Dan and Josh casually walked outside the hotel doors and turned the corner to walk down the street. (I assumed they were heading out for some fun. Haha.) Dan and I made eye contact, but I got nervous and just said “Hi Dan” really casually, lol. For some reason no one else had recognized them at the moment. So they continued walking. My friend Meg, who had previously met them inside, asked me why I didn’t talk to them or ask for a picture. I really don’t know what came over me at that point, but I turned around and starting walking down the sidewalk to catch up to them. At the time I was in pure adrenaline mode, so I was acting instead of thinking. Now I look back and laugh because I realize I had locked arms with Dan after catching up to him. We continue to walk down the sidewalk as I told him how much I respect him as a musician and person, and I reminded him of the time he direct messaged me after I told him how we share the same love for the same types of music. He told me to continue walking with him until we got around the corner so we could talk/take a picture without making a scene. When we got there we continued to talk a bit about random things. He told me I had really good taste in music and then he gave me a guitar pick. He asked where I would be sitting at the show the next day, among a few other questions, then we took our picture. My sister came around the corner at this point so she briefly talked to him as well. (I need to express how true and genuine Dan is though. And he truly, TRULY loves and cares for Justin.) He wished us a great show, we wished him the same, and went back to the front of the hotel. It was probably only ten minutes or so later when the group of girls started screaming as a black SUV drove by. It continued to turn into the alleyway along the side of the hotel, but then it stopped. We were in complete shock, and weren’t really sure if this was real or not. In a panic, we ran into the hotel thinking that we’d have a better chance of talking to him when he came in the front doors. After a minute or so we realized he probably wouldn’t come in the front doors though, so we hurried back outside, and sure enough, there he was. I honestly think I just stood there for a good minute or two just staring in awe. I couldn’t believe this ONE guy who meant everything to me, who doesn’t even know me, was standing right before my eyes. Security wasn’t playing around though. They kept warning everyone to stand back and wait their turn. At this time, Fredo was talking the pictures as Justin greeted fans. There weren’t many of us, but for some reason security was anxious to get him back in the car. I could tell Justin was a little flustered because they kept saying, “We gotta go,” but you could tell he wanted to get to us all. There were probably 3 girls ahead of my sister and I when security pretty much pulled Justin away and said its time to go. He said “I gotta go guys, sorry!!” or something along those line, and walked back over to the car. He stood outside the car discussing something with two of the security guys. Like I said, he seemed a little puzzled, not sure why. I really don’t know what came over me at that point, but I decided I wasn’t going to let this moment pass me by. I wiggled past everyone in front of me and walked straight up him (calmly of course, as I didn’t want the security to be alarmed.) I never planned on getting a picture. All I wanted was to tell him how much I appreciate what he does, and to hug him. Again, I was not thinking and acting out of pure adrenaline so I don’t know what I said word for word. But I know I just kept telling him how much I love and respect him, and the whole time I was standing in front of him, trying to get out my words , I realized I had my hands placed on his hips as I looked into his beautiful brown eyes and jabbered. Security started nudging towards him again, distracting him. But he quickly looked down at me, met my eyes, and said, “That means a lot, thank you.” At that point I could only hear my heart beating. Then he pulled me into him, we briefly hugged, and he said, “Wanna get a picture?” I don’t know where Fredo was at that point, and my phone had just died. Once the other girls saw he was taking pictures again so they ran over and started taking pictures of us. I’m really thankful my sister happened to be in front of the pack, because she managed to get the pictures. Right after my picture though security said, “We REALLY have to go guys.” Justin thanked us and said goodbye. I really wanted to show him my Believe tattoo, but I was already so thankful for what had just happened that I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I still can’t fully believe it happened. The show the following day was beyond incredible. I couldn’t believe how much he’s grown as a TRUE artist and performer. And then it happened again…. My sister, another friend, and I had tickets to the Kansas City show on the 26th, the following weekend. After feeling totally complete and blessed with my experience, I had 100% forgot about the fact that I had entered the bieberfever.com contest a few weeks previously. It was the night before the show when I got the email saying I had won M&G’s for the next day. I can’t even begin to describe to you what I was feeling or thinking. Pure thankfulness, mixed with nervousness and excitement. It’s honestly still a dream to me. I was so overjoyed that I was not only getting a second chance to show him my tattoo and to tell him what he means to me, but that my sister would get her chance too. The first time we saw him she was just so happy for me that she put herself aside, and never got to properly meet him. When we walked into the meet and greet, there he stood, again, looking as incredible as I had remembered. He smiled at us as my sister got on one side and I got on the other. I looked over and noticed he was rubbing her back, and then I felt him doing it to me too. The other 2 people in our group had walked in, and for some reason Mike (photographer) wanted me to move to the other side of my sister. I didn’t really mind, but I was flustered and trying to find a different spot to put my purse (as I had nervously set it in front of Justin’s FEET when we had first walked in!) While I was finding somewhere to put my purse, I guess Justin was wondering why two more people hadn’t come in with us. It was suppose to be groups of 6, but only 4 of us came in. So after the brief confusion, I moved next to my sister, and we took the picture. I turned to him right after Mike snapped the picture and gave him a big hug. I told him how much I love him as I started to pull up my sleeve to show him my Believe tattoo. Right as I held out my arm to show him, one of the security guards said something to him/me/afan…not really sure. But it had distracted Justin’s attention away. I really wasn’t sure what to do, so I kind of just stepped back a little. Almost instantly he looked back over at me and said, “Wait, come here..I wanna see that.” I smiled, moved closer and pulled my sleeve back up for him. He carefully looked at it in curiosity then looked down at his own arm. He held out his arm for me to see and said, ”It looks just like mine.” I smiled. He looked back up at my tattoo, smiled, and said “Swag Town…” LOL. I gave him another tight hug, as if I would never see him again and I wished him a great show. He smiled, I smiled and we left. When I say good things rarely happen to me, at least to this magnitude, I really mean that. I feel really blessed that I was not only given one moment with him, but two. I never in a million years would have thought it would happen to me. It’s really confirmed my beliefs that good things DO happen. And as cheesy as it sounds…NEVER SAY NEVER and BELIEVE. Justin is a class act. He truly loves his fans more than nearly anything! I have never met, or heard of anyone else who is as REAL, compassionate, and down to earth as he is. Inside, he’s as normal as it gets, fame aside. And as fans, I hope we all continue to do our best to give him the love, support, and understanding that he DESERVES as he continues to grow as an artist…and as a person . I am beyond grateful for what he’s given me. For what he’s given US. Please don’t ever take him, or his kindness, for granted. I will always be here to support him in anyway I possibly can…voting, requesting songs to radio stations, buying his music, gifting his music, anything. But most importantly, just to be here. If he could meet every single one of you, I know he would. Your day WILL come if you strive for it. I promise. Expect the unexpected. – @Belieb_Love (Emma) Continued here: My name is Emma, and I am 23 years old. My first Bieber…
Academy ballots were mailed out last week to 5,586 voting members, the most significant news on the Oscar front. Not that it was a quiet week in Lake Globesbegone. The New York Times ’ critics A.O. Scott and Manohla Dargis both named Amour 2012’s best film, as did the Los Angeles Times ’ Kenneth Turan. The AP triumvirate of Christy Lemire, David Germain and Jake Coyle anointed Argo , Moonrise Kingdom and Amour , respectively. The flyover states also weighed in: The Kansas City Film Critics Circle named The Master best film, while the Chicago and Austin Film Critics Associations went with Zero Dark Thirty . The Southeastern Film Critics Association backed Argo , as did the Nevada, St. Louis and Florida Film Critics. The criticspalooza that is the Village Voice Top 10 poll (86 – count ‘em) named The Master best film, while The Atlantic ’s lone Christopher Orr picked Zero Dark Thirty . Put them together and what have you got? Mostly Oscar pundits still gobsmacked that Nicole Kidman got a Best Supporting nomination from the Screen Actor’s Guild and the Hollywood Foreign Press. The Voice ’s Michael Musto pondered whether she could be one of a handful of actors to have earned nominations for Oscar and a Razzie for the same performance . In the immortal words of Max Bialystock, “Worlds have turned on such thoughts.” From here on, those little intangibles that John Gavin so rhapsodically preached to Maureen O’Hara about in Miracle on 34th Street (Merry Christmas, by the way) come in to play. Will Academy members filling out their ballots be influenced by Reese Witherspoon’s open letter to The Impossible ’s Naomi Watts (“Not since Meryl Streep’s performance in Sophie’s Choice …) in Entertainment Weekly , moved by Hugh Jackman welling up during his recent “60 Minutes” interview, or swayed by journeyman character actor Ann Dowd’s plucky self-financed campaign to distribute screeners of her career pinnacle performance in Compliance ? Let’s go to the Gold Linings Playbook to see how the Oscar field shifted last week. And Academy Members: Complete your ballots before the Jan. 3 deadline, lest you fall off the Oscar cliff. Best Picture To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, the only thing better than being nominated for a SAG award or Golden Globe is not being nominated. That may be the case for Beasts of the Southern Wild , whose non-union production was deemed ineligible for Screen Actors Guild consideration. It was also snubbed by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Now everyone’s talking about the beauty of the Beast and the producers are rekindling adoration for the art house darling with stepped-up promotion. Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln remain Best Picture front-runners, but while the former continues to be preoccupied with answering a rising tide of critics (“Senators condemn Zero Dark Thirty torture,” reported USA Today ) all the latter has to do is look presidential (“ Lincoln aims to enlighten as it entertains,” praised a Los Angeles Times feature). Argo , too, is assured a Best Picture nomination, and while Zero Dark Thirty is getting critics awards buzz (as well as detractor’s brickbats), Argo , to its credit, has built up enormous good will. It’s a rousing, real-life “America, f*** yeah” that Hollywood could still rally around. Django Unchained ’s stock with critics continued to rise last week, although Spike Lee set off a Twitter firestorm Saturday when he said that slavery was a holocaust, “not a Sergio Leone spaghetti western” and that he would “honor” his ancestors by not seeing the film. The Drudge Report splashed an incendiary headline across its home page regarding the film’s prodigious use of the “n-word.” It also remains to be seen how the film’s graphic violence will play with audiences in the wake of the incomprehensible tragedy in Connecticut. 1. Lincoln 2. Zero Dark Thirty 3. Argo 4. Silver Linings Playbook 5. Les Miserables 6. Django Unchained 7. Life of Pi 8. Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 9. Beasts of the Southern Wild 10. Moonrise Kingdom Ones to watch: Amour, The Dark Knight Rises, The Impossible, The Master, Skyfall Best Director Sure, the Golden Globes are Hollywood’ most reliable punchline (except maybe for Rob Schneider), but Gold Derby gives them their props as “one of the most reliable Oscar crystal balls.” That doesn’t bode well for Les Miserables director Tom Hooper, who was snubbed, leaving wiggle room for David O. Russell, but Quentin Tarantino is, as ever, the wild card. Like Spielberg, his name alone has a Hitchcockian mass appeal and recognition. As he observed in his recent Playboy interview, “I was actually quite proud when I read that Django is one of the most anticipated movies coming out this year. It’s a black Western. Where’s the anticipation coming from? I guess a lot of it is me. That’s pretty f***ing awesome.” 1. Steven Spielberg ( Lincoln ) 2. Kathryn Bigelow ( Zero Dark Thirty ) 3. Ben Affleck ( Argo ) 4. Ang Lee ( Life of Pi ) 5. David O. Russell ( Silver Linings Playbook ) Ones to watch: Paul Thomas Anderson ( The Master ), Michael Haneke ( Amour ), Tom Hooper ( Les Miserables ), Quentin Tarantino ( Django Unchained )
Phew, well that’s a relief. Jovan Belcher’s mom ain’t with all the reckless rumors about her grandbaby’s paternity and claims reporters went rogue with a recent report that her son fought his child’s mother because he had doubts about whether he fathered her child. Via NY Daily News reports : Jovan Belcher’s mother angrily denied a report that claimed she told investigators that her son had argued with his girlfriend about the paternity of their baby before he shot her dead and killed himself. “It’s a lie. It’s all a lie,” Cheryl Shepherd told the Daily News on Friday. “That’s my grandbaby and it was wrong for them to put that out there. That is Jovan’s baby and it is my grandbaby.” The New York Post, citing an unnamed law-enforcement source and an anonymous Kansas City Chiefs insider, reported that Shepherd told authorities that the couple had argued over the paternity of 3-month old Zoey on the morning of Dec. 1. That would have been right before the Chiefs linebacker shot Kasandra Perkins, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium, where he shot and killed himself in front of the team’s general manager, head coach and an assistant coach. Shepherd, from West Babylon, L.I., was at Belcher’s Kansas City home when Perkins was shot, and made a desperate 911 call in an attempt to save her. She told The News there was never an argument about the identity of the child’s biological father. “I never said that,” she said. “You are hearing it from the horse’s mouth. Zoey is Jovan’s baby and my grandbaby. I have never had any doubt.” A Kansas City Police Department spokesman said the lead investigator in the case had not uncovered any information that corroborated the report. “We haven’t had anyone give us that information,” Darin Snapp, the KCPD public information officer, told The News. “I talked to the lead detective on the case, and he hasn’t received any information of that nature. It might be true, but none of the witnesses or people we have talked to have provided that information. I can’t confirm that (report).” Snapp added that the case file had been turned over to a prosecutor’s office, and that if any paternity issue surfaced, it would be handled as a civil matter. Shepherd has maintained custody of Zoey, although Perkins’ family — the 22-year-old Kasandra was from Texas — indicated in a statement that it would be involved in the girl’s upbringing. An open-casket wake for Belcher was held in Dix Hills, L.I., on Tuesday, and a funeral was held on Wednesday at the Upper Room Christian World Center. Belcher was a star player at West Babylon High School and attended the University of Maine before playing for the Chiefs. “I’m not going to say anymore, but I want you to put this out there: That baby is Jovan’s baby. That baby is my grandbaby,” Shepherd said. You tell ‘em mama!
Rachel Wray is transitioning to the world of MMA fighting from the NFL sidelines. That#39;s right, the cute blonde spitfire sporting cornrows in the octagon was, until very recently, dancing on the sidelines for the Kansas City Chiefs. Former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader Rachel Wray (no, not Rachael Ray of Food Network fame) has ditched the pom poms for sparring partners as she made the transition from NFL cheerleader to MMA fighter, according to KCMMA.com. “Last year, I was a Chiefs ch
The second Man of Steel trailer has been released to the Internets, and by the gods it’s actually very effective! While retaining the moodiness of the first teaser , that mood now more clearly emphasizes Clark Kent’s feelings of uncertainty and separation due to his alien heritage and fantastical powers. His arrest ( first revealed in the poster released last week ) has a bit more context too, as we see him stepping out from behind what appears to be the wreckage of military hardware, as soldiers draw their weapons. It looks like he makes his debut after the Kryptonian super villains led by General Zod, and submits to arrest to prove he isn’t a threat, a much more interesting take on humanity’s initial reaction to him. Speaking of Zod, we also get our first glimpse at Michael Shannon ‘s version of the character (skip to minute 2:33). Nothing could possibly replace Terence Stamp’s elegant fascist interpretation, which is why it’s a relief they’re not even trying. Instead, they’re going for a grizzled military vet vibe. I’m impressed by how he looks like something Jack Kirby would have drawn during his weirder moments in the ’70s, particularly if the bubbly, floating spaceship we see just before Zod appears has any connection. ( Here ‘s a pretty funny look at some of Kirby’s more bonkers creations for some context.) I’m not the biggest fan of Watchmen , but on a purely aesthetic level Zack Snyder absolutely nailed that adaptation, and underwear-free Superman suit aside, it now seems much more certain he’s going to pull off the same trick with Man Of Steel . Here’s the trailer in all its moody, superpowered glory. Some stray thoughts: * It’s worth noting that we first see Zod bearing a serene expression, quickly followed by an obvious KNEEL BEFORE ZOD shout out, then a scene of Krypton’s destruction. I can’t help but wonder if Zod’s personal animosity for Superman is related to Jor-el’s failed attempt to save Krypton. * I’m not the first to note this, but that moment when we seen Superman causing the ground beneath him to vibrate is very interesting. We haven’t really seen Superman’s powers presented as a force of nature like this, and it’s a nice touch. * Now we know how they avoid turning Kevin Coster’s take on Jonathan Kent into Kansas Ben Parker: Pa Kent is afraid of what will happen to Supes if his powers are revealed to the world. That fits very well into the more realish world take on the Superman story I’m assuming we’ll see, owing to Christopher Nolan’s involvement. Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Josh Brent is facing a manslaughter charge after a one-vehicle accident that killed linebacker Jerry Brown, a member of the team’s practice squad. Irving, Tex., police spokesman John Argumaniz said the crash happened at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, just hours before Brent was to fly with the team to Cincinnati to face the Bengals. The 25-year-old Jerry Brown – a practice-squad linebacker who also was Brent’s teammate for three seasons at the University of Illinois – was pronounced dead at a hospital. “I am devastated and filled with grief,” Josh Brent said in a statement. “Filled with grief for the loss of my close friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. I am also grief-stricken for his family, friends and all who were blessed enough to have known him.” “I will live with this horrific and tragic loss every day for the rest of my life,” he added. “My prayers are with his family, our teammates and his friends at this time.” It marked the second tragedy in as many weekends for the NFL. Last Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend before killing himself in front of his coach and general manager. “We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown,” Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement yesterday. “At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry’s family and all of those who knew him and loved him.”
