Jovan Belcher , a linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs, was at the center of a horrific tragedy this morning. According to local authorities, Belcher, 25, shot and killed his on-again/off-again girlfriend ( Kasandra Perkins , who gave birth to the couple’s first child three months ago) in her home around 8 a.m. and then drove to the Arrowhead Stadium complex where the Chiefs play home games. In front of team personnel (including GM Scott Piloi and Coach Romeo Crennel) who tried to calm him down in the parking lot, Belcher then shot himself in the head. Police spokesman Darin Snapp says authorities received a 911 call from the mother of Belcher’s victim, alerting them to the incident at her daughter’s residence. Another call was then placed minutes later from the Kansas City facility. “We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.” It’s unclear at the moment if the team’s game tomorrow against the Carolina Panthers will be played as scheduled. We send our thoughts to the loved ones of all involved in this tragedy.

Bandz are the reason for the season Man Dressed As Santa Clause Passes Out $100 Bills To Hurricane Sandy Victims In New Jersey A generous man is spreading some holiday cheer around the NJ coast in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. The “Secret Santa” recentlyvisited residents in the Garden State who fell victim to the hurricane and gave them all early Christmas presents in the form of $100 bills. via Fox News A Missouri man posing as “Secret Santa” is giving away $100,000 this holiday season and spent a day in New Jersey and New York giving money to people robbed of their belongings or homes by Superstorm Sandy. But the Kansas City businessman says money is not the issue. It’s about random acts of kindness. Secret Santa started his East Coast visit Thursday in Elizabeth, N.J. In Staten Island, the anonymous benefactor walked up to surprised residents and thrust $100 bills into their hands. He said he is setting an example and hopes others will follow. Keeping close watch over the cash handouts was his security entourage – police officers in uniform from New York and New Jersey, plus FBI agents. Some wore red caps marked with the word “elf.” Making it rain on the hurricane. We can dig it. Image via Shutterstock
On October 26th, 2012 me and my friend Carley drove four hours up to Kansas City to go see Justin. I have been an extremely dedicated Belieber for years and my dream was finally coming true. I knew it was going to be great but I was never expecting what would end up happening. We arrived at the hotel around noon and I finally got to meet my best friends from Twitter for the first time in person. We knew Justin and his crew were staying at our hotel because his buses were parked outside and there were tons of girl trying to get in. I was able to get me and my friends into the hotel but more girls ended up sneaking in later. Some of the girls had seen Justin’s grandparents earlier that morning so I knew there was hope to see someone but I still thought my chances were slim. Kenny tweeted that he was going to go work out before heading to the Sprint Center so we went down to the hotel gym to see if he was there . One of the girls that was there was wearing workout clothes so she used my key and went in to go check. But she never came out so I got frustrated and went in myself. I hadn’t taken a full five steps when I saw Kenny laying on the ground doing sit ups . And I got so nervous I just turned around and ran back into the hall and fell on the ground. I couldn’t believe I actually saw Kenny. The door to the gym opened and a really buff guy came out who I had never seen before (I later found out he is Justins new bodyguard). He told us that we needed to leave and I told him my friend was in there still and he tried to tell me that there were no girls in there. We argued for about 5 minutes but I was still very respectful to him and told him sorry to end it and he said, ‘I don’t care if you’re sorry.’ He is probably actually really nice but he wasn’t very nice to me. After that we left and went back up to the lobby. We were just standing there when Bruce and Diane just walked out of a hallway! I asked them for a picture and Justin’s grandma apologized and said there were too many people. They went out to the bus and Bruce didn’t get on! He said, ‘Grandma is tired but I will still take pictures with you!’ So he was taking pictures with everyone and when I asked for mine he said, “Of course sweetie!” His Canadian accent was so cute! We then went back into the lobby and were only there a couple minutes when someone spotted Scrappy in the bar! One of the managers went up to us and told us we weren’t allowed in because none of us were 21 but we just went in anyway and got a few blurry pictures and got to say hello! After Scrappy left, we were standing there for awhile when some of the hotel staff came and checked for room keys and kicked some people out. Some luggage came down stairs and some of Fredos camera equipment was on it! They then said that there were ‘important clients’ about to come down and we needed to stand to the side and not take our phone out and if they saw a phone they would kick us out. We did what we were told and soon Dan Kanter walked in the room! Someone asked him for a picture but the manager lady yelled, “No pictures!” so Dan was like, “Their rule. Not mine.” He told us he had to go check out and went over to the front desk. After he was done he came back and had a long conversation with us! We talked about food and the show and how he liked Kansas City. In the middle of us talking, Alfredo and Kenny walked out of the elevator! We screamed and they just waved and hurried out the door to get into a taxi. Dan soon left also. Pretty soon Allison walked by and waved to us while on the phone. Then Allison walked by holding PAC’s cage!!! We were all like “AWW” and she laughed. We waited a while longer but the buses left and someone came out and basically told us everyone was gone. Me and my friend went back into our room to get ready and I had just gotten changed when my friend who was still in the lobby texted me “He’s still here!!!!” We literally ran out the hotel room door and back to the lobby to find out that the manager said he ‘might’ still be here. Which is basically saying he was because if he wasn’t, they would have told us to leave. We stood in the lobby for awhile before deciding to go downstairs and check the parking garage. No one was down there so we went back to the elevator and were deciding what to do when my friend Sydney’s mom who was still in the lobby, texted her that “They are up here!” All like 15 of us jumped into the elevator screaming out heads off. When we got up there Kenny, Fredo, and the mean body guard from earlier were standing there checking out. Apparently they had just gone to lunch earlier. Kenny came over to us and took pictures with all of us while Alfredo and the other guy waved and hurried out. Kenny was even sweet enough to take extra pictures with my little sister and my friend’s sister who were to short to be seen in the first one . After they left we assumed everyone was gone and me and Carley needed to go get ready for the meet and greet. We got to the Sprint Center an hour early. We went up to the line and while we were waiting for Justin I suddenly got extremely nervous. When they pulled back the curtain for the girls in front of us, I noticed that it was the guy that chewed us out earlier at the hotel . I know he remembered us too because he did a double take and then stared at me. When it was our turn I legit went into shock. All I could do was stare at Justin’s beautiful face. He was laughing at something Alfredo said. I don’t think I will ever be able to describe how perfect he is in person. He was glowing and he looked like an angel. Justin had his arms already open for us to step into so we did and before the picture he gave me a side hug. Justin was trying to stop his laughing for the picture so he ended up with cutest smirk. Right after the flash went off he started giggling again and said something but honestly I was so out of it I don’t even know what he said. I just remember thinking in my head ‘Oh my goodness that’s Justin’s voice.’ They told us our turn was over and my friend yelled over her shoulder that she loved Justin and said goodbye to Fredo. I realized I looked like an idiot not saying a word because I was in so much shock so I turned around before walking out the curtain and I said ‘I love you so much Justin!!’ and Justin smiled and took a step forward saying ‘I love you too!’ in the cutest little voice. I then said ‘Hi Fredo!!!’ and he waved with the biggest smile. I stepped out of the curtain and they handed me this autographed thing and I instantly started bawling. I just couldn’t believe that just happened. I know that nobody is perfect but he has to be pretty dang close. I cried for like an hour until we needed to start finding our way into the actual concert. We got into the arena and me and Carley were extremely fortunate to get front row!! I just looked around in awe for awhile. I don’t think any Belieber can describe that feeling you get as the countdown goes to 0. It’s was in all honesty one of the happiest moments I’ve ever had. Justin is an amazing performer. I’ve always known that but I guess you just get a whole new perspective for it when you actually get to see it. He was born to do this and I couldn’t be more proud. I finally felt like I understood how talented he truly is and how far he has come. During OLLG we were just standing there watching Justin serenade the girl when someone ran in front of us on the other side of the barrier. And both me and Carley knew it was Alfredo. We waited for him to come back after taking pictures and when he did I leaned over the barrier and called his name. He took his hood off an stopped directly in front of me. I was completely taken off guard I thought he would maybe wave but definitely never this. He grabbed my hand that was resting on the barrier and he didn’t shake it – but he intertwined our fingers and just held my hand and got really close to my face and just smiled there for about 15 seconds. He then did the same thing to my friend before putting his hood back up and running off. My friend started crying for the first time that night which just made me break down and cry. We were basically on the floor crying in the middle of the concert and everyone around us just looked at us like we were freaks cause it was the most random time to cry. I just couldn’t believe that happened. I have sat alone in my room dreaming for years and my dream became a reality. Justin has helped me through so much in personal life and I know he has helped so many others also. I wish he could understand what he does for people. He saves them without even knowing it. I just want to say to everyone who sits in there room like I did dreaming about the day that you get to meet Justin to just have faith. Because when it finally happens it is all completely worth it. All the stress I twitter drama, the late night Bieber blasting, everything. It’s all worth it just to let him know that you love him and to know that he loves you back and to see the talent he really has. It will happen to you. You just have to believe. -Sterling Herzik (@ForeverMyRauhl) More here: On October 26th, 2012 me and my friend Carley drove four hours…
My name is Rebecca and I have been a Belieber for almost 3 years now (I’m on the far right in the picture). I have seen Justin in concert twice September 14th, 2010 and October 18th, 2012. The first time I saw him it was far away, so as soon as the Believe Tour tickets went on sale I was determined to get good ones. But I didn’t have enough money for meet and greets. I was able to get row 18 on the floor, seats 20 and 21 for me and my best friend. About a month before the concert, my local radio station announced a contest do win meet & greets. The contest was you had to realistically Photoshop yourself with Justin. I happen to be pretty good at Photoshop, so I was confident I could win. A couple days after I entered the contest I got a call at 7:30 AM from my radio station saying I won . I was on the radio and everyone at school found out and the whole school was buzzing about how I won meet & greets. Day of the concert we get our merch and wristbands and lined up to meet Justin. I saw Kenny and waved, he said hi. We find out we have to go in groups of 6. We teamed up with 2 kids from my school and 2 random strangers. I was upset we had to go in groups of 6 cause there was less of a chance I’d be next to Justin. I was right. We got in the tiny room and I just froze and forgot about getting close to him. He was soooo beautiful, he looked photo shopped. For the picture I was pushed over to the right end but I was so nervous. I was shaking. After they took the photo the security guards were pushing us out of the room. Everyone had gotten a hug from Justin already except me and they kept pushing me away ! I was not leaving without a hug though, I lightly shoved the guard to the side and asked Justin for a hug. Of course he said yes and I told him I loved him and then I left. Then I saw Justin’s grandpa and said “Hey grandpa!” He said hey back. Then I started walking away and I just started balling me eyes out. I couldn’t believe I just met him. He was so perfect in every way that I was so overwhelmed. All in all it lasted a little over 30 seconds. I barely talked to him and I was at the edge of the picture but I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. Unfortunately because it was so short and I barely got a glance at him his image in my memory is already starting to fade, but the picture will help me to remember. They finally let us in to find our seats. Once we saw where they were, our jaws dropped. We were in the first row in the middle of the end of the catwalk. He touches fans hands the most there. The concert started and by that time we’ve officially decided we have the best seats in the house. In only the first song he reached out and held my hand and sang to me for a few seconds. It was amazing! He even performed ‘As Long As You Love Me’ shirtless basically right in front of me! I could see the sweat dripping down his abs, he was sooooo hot. I got a great video of that. I’ve been to 6 different concerts before and the Believe Tour was by far the very best out of all of them. Meeting him, the effects, how close we were, him shirtless, and his amazing voice all contributed to that. I’m so grateful that this happened to me and I hope that I’ll never forget it. -Rebecca (@BieberCyrusCA) Originally posted here: My name is Rebecca and I have been a Belieber for almost 3 years…
Guess who’s not in Kansas, anymore? That would be James Franco in Oz The Great And Powerful. He plays two-bit magician Oscar Diggs who rides a hot-air balloon into a cyclone and travels from a dusty black-and-white world into a vibrant colorful one populated with munchkins and witches, played by Rachel Weisz , Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams . Judging from this trailer, director Sam Raimi has done a good job of creating a sense of continuity between this prequel to The Wizard of Oz and the original. The black-and-white-to-color switch mirrors Dorothy’s trip to Oz and the munchkins, well, they could very well be the brethren of the original Lollipop Guild. At the same time, this clip reveals some fresh Raimi-esque touches that make Oz look more fantastical — and more dangerous. That sharp-toothed sprite in one of the shots is a combination of friendly and malevolent that never fails to creep me out, and that last shot of the flying monkeys indicates they will be a lot more fearsome this time around. Then there’s the big question: Does Oz: The Great and Powerful sync up with a Pink Floyd album the way that Dark Side of the Moon does with the original?
My name is Kaliye and I met my whole entire world and saw him in concert for the first time ever on October 26th, 2012 in Kansas City, MO. It all started when I began watching Justin’s YouTube videos in 2010 and I instantly fell in love with him. I started telling all my friends and family members about him, created a Twitter account dedicated to him, etc. I pretty much became obsessed with him. As the years went by, my love for him grew stronger. There were times when I felt so depressed and my only escape was his music and his voice. He kept me going. When I first heard that he was going to go on another tour, I was so happy and I was determined to meet him when he came to my city. I was trying to do everything to make it happen and nothing seemed to be working. My concert was only a week away and I started losing hope and I started to give up. That was when a miracle happened: these 3 girls named Justice, Angela, and Lauren told crew members about me and tried doing everything they can to get me to meet Justin when he came to Kansas. All of their hard work paid off and I received a meet and greet email. I started freaking out, I couldn’t believe that I was going to be meeting Justin Drew Bieber. It meant so much to me. When October 26th came, I chose to skip school and go to the arena really early so I can help my best friend and my other friend get tickets to the concert. We spent the whole day trying to find someone that would be willing to sell them cheap tickets. We couldn’t find anyone so we started losing hope and I had to go to will call to get my meet and greet bracelet. When I came back, I found out that my friends ended up getting tickets. I was so happy for them and seeing them smile made me smile. That’s when the security guard told me to get in line because the meet and greets were starting. I was so excited, I couldn’t believe that this whole thing was actually happening. We finally got in the building and there was a lady in the middle of the hallway telling us all the rules. We had to get in groups of 6 so I just got in a group with some lady and these two girls that I became friends with when I was standing in line. When it was finally our turn to meet Justin, we all started freaking out and squealing. We got in, and at first I couldn’t find Justin. All I saw were security guards, so I walked further. That’s when I saw him. He was so perfect, he didn’t even look real. He was right in front of me and I literally just stood there admiring him. When he was done greeting the other girls, he turned to me and gave me the sweetest smile ever. I started walking towards him and he reached his hand out to me and said “Hey love.” I swear I almost lost it. Did Justin just call me love? I stood right next to him and he put his arms around me and I put my arms around his waist to take the picture. For some reason, I felt comfortable in his arms. I wasn’t shaking or anything, I felt calm and I felt safe. He was leaning on my shoulder and he smelled so good and I couldn’t believe that he was standing right next to me. I realized that I needed to say something quick so I said, “I love you so much!” and he smiled and told me that he loved me too. We finally took the picture (I’m the short girl on the right with the black shirt) and he gave me a little squeeze on the shoulder. It was time to leave and he told me thank you as I began walking out the door. I couldn’t believe that I just met Justin Bieber. He’s so perfect in real life and he’s so sweet. I started crying when I got out of the room and my friends ran over to me and we all started fangirling together. Then it was time for the concert and we all quickly went into the arena and found our seats. We saw Justin perform and he did amazing, I was so proud of him and the Believe tour was everything I expected it to be. I’ll never forget October 26th, 2012. It was the best day of my whole entire life. Thank you to everyone that made my dream possible. Thank you to all my friends for believing in me and trying to do everything you guys can to see me smile. It means the world to me. And to everyone else reading this, if you have a dream, NEVER give up on it. If you believe in yourself and work hard, anything is possible. -@StrongForJustin Go here to see the original: My name is Kaliye and I met my whole entire world and saw him in…
We’re sure you remember Mirlande Wilson. Mirlande was the Baltimore McDonald’s employee who took 14 of her co-workers money to buy lottery tickets, claimed she actually won, and refused to give them their earnings. Well now, those 14 employees are pissed and suing this broad. Via Lottery Post: A group of 14 McDonald’s employees from the Baltimore, Maryland, area are still convinced they were winners in the massive $656 million Mega Millions jackpot drawing earlier this year — despite being told otherwise by lottery officials — and are claiming that a co-worker defrauded the Maryland Lottery to avoid sharing a payout with them. On Sept. 19, the group filed a civil lawsuit against their co-worker, Mirlande Wilson, a Westport woman who briefly gained celebrity status and international media attention in April after claiming to be the holder of a winning ticket purchased in Baltimore County. Two other winning tickets were purchased in Kansas and Illinois; each ticket was reportedly worth more than $100 million in cash after taxes. The group’s lawsuit says Wilson did buy a winning ticket as part of a lottery pool the co-workers were in and that she and her lawyer, Edward Smith Jr., orchestrated an elaborate ruse to recruit the educators and trick the Maryland Lottery into believing they had won rather than Wilson. One of the McDonald’s employees, Dominique Gourdet, claims in an affidavit filed in the case that when the lottery numbers were picked March 30, he was Wilson’s live-in boyfriend. Gourdet says Wilson told him multiple times that a ticket she’d purchased for the McDonald’s pool had won, and that she had shown him pictures of the winning ticket with the winning numbers on her phone. Gourdet also says Wilson told him that each of the three educators claiming to be the winners would be given $1 million for “helping” in the scheme, while Smith would receive $2 million. Gourdet’s affidavit claims Wilson told him “that she did not want to share the prize with others at work, particularly the Hispanic workers.” Reached on Friday, Wilson said she never had the ticket and the claims in the lawsuit are false. “It’s not true,” she said. “This is a baseless story.” Wilson declined to comment further. Carole Everett, a Maryland Lottery spokeswoman, laughed out loud after being told of the lawsuit, saying it sounded like wishful thinking from a group who had their hopes unfairly raised by Wilson in the first place. The “Three Amigos” are the true winners, Everett said. “It was verified,” she said. Everett said surveillance video from the Milford Mill 7-Eleven store where the Baltimore County ticket was purchased was reviewed by lottery officials, but she declined to further explain the lottery’s ticket verification and security measures. Because of the amount of the winnings, the Mega Millions winners were “scrutinized even more” than average lottery winners, Everett said. We hope they are paying actual money for the attorneys on this suit. SMH.
Terrell Owens Released From Seattle Seahawks Poor thang. Terrell Owens’ NFL return lasted less than three weeks. Owens was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, part of the league-mandated roster reductions from 90 to 75 players. The 38-year-old posted a message on his Twitter account shortly before 11 a.m. PDT that he had been released and the Seahawks made the move official later in the afternoon. “I’m no longer a Seahawk. I THANK the organization 4 the opportunity, I’m truly blessed beyond belief. My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver.” Owens wasn’t the only veteran to get cut by the Seahawks. Offensive linemen Deuce Lutui and Alex Barron both had their veteran contracts terminated, while Seattle waived/injured defensive back Roy Lewis (knee), tight end Cameron Morrah (toe), defensive tackle Pep Levingston (knee) and linebacker Jamison Konz (shoulder). Owens signed a one-year deal with Seattle (No. 22 in APPro32) on Aug. 7, following a sterling workout that had coaches and Seahawks staff raving about how good he looked for having not played an NFL game in more than 18 months. He signed just before Seattle’s first preseason game and made his debut in the second week against Denver. But his preseason performance was more notable for the passes he dropped than anything he caught. Owens dropped a potential 46-yard touchdown against Denver on a perfect throw from Matt Flynn. He failed to make a catch in any of his five targets against the Broncos and then had another glaring drop against Kansas City on Friday night. He finished the preseason with just two receptions — a 40-yard catch from Russell Wilson where Owens had to slow down and lean back to haul in the pass and a 1-yard reception on a screen. Owens was trying to make a comeback after not playing since Week 15 of the 2010 season while with Cincinnati. He sat out the entire 2011 season following surgery on his left knee and failed to receive any offers. SMH at T.O. trying to be all polite and “blessed and thankful” now. He should’ve been humble and not a douche when he was in his prime, and maybe he wouldn’t be in this predicament. We wish him the best though. Source
