The British supermodel took to Instagram earlier this week with a fresh-faced selfie, and for having just woken up like this … she looks amazing like this. And quite well-rested, we have to say. Sporting a lacy black tank and blond locks tussled around her shoulders, she hopes YOU wake up to some of the violence going on in the Middle East. UNICEF’s global humanitarian version of the #icebucketchallenge called on the public to post morning selfies in hopes of aiding the Syrian crisis. Rosie obliged: “My #wakeupcall for @unicef_uk @unicef Text SYRIA to 70007 give £5 (UK) or visit wakeupcall (dot) org. I nominate @catdeeley @gregjames17 @poppydelevingne #wakeupcall #UNICEF” Started by the fund’s UK ambassador Jemima Khan, the awareness campaign hopes to utilize social media, the power of pop culture and the universal selfie. Many stars have jumped in to contribute a barefaced photo, and money, to the campaign, including Liam Neeson, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton and Elle Macpherson. Rosie gamely tagged a few famous pals to join her in the campaign, calling on Cat Deeley, Poppy Delevingne and Greg James to get in on the action. In the last few days, however, we’ve learned about her past, and dare we say – it’s all making us like her a lot more: First we saw video of Kim when she was 13 and acting a fool at her eighth grade graduation. Next, we learned that Kim cringes when she looks at photos from her doofy phase, a feeling most of us can certainly relate to. But Kim’s revelations of adolescent awkwardness didn’t end there. In the new issue of Marie Claire, Kim reveals that she had a teenage infatuation millions of women worldwide can relate to: “Kourtney and I actually shared a room at one point, growing up,” Kim said. “I loved Johnny Depp. I was obsessed with him.” “She was really into Leonardo DiCaprio, so we had cutouts of them on our wall next to our Michael Jackson posters.” Okay, is Kim running for office or something? What’s with all the relatable stories about how she was just a normal kid and wasn’t actually incredibly spoiled growing up. Earlier this week, Kim even said North West will have to get a job some day to buy the things she wants…just like Kim did. We don’t know if we totally buy that young Kim used to save her paychecks to buy posters of Johnny Depp, but at least she’s trying to come off as normal. Jon Gosselin’s former landlord is speaking out in the aftermath of his recent eviction, and suffice it to say, she does not paint a positive picture of the man. Linda Eways, who evicted Jon Gosselin from her house in Wernersville, Pa., says she paid a surprise visit to the property after she thought he’d moved out. And he had … for the most part. He certainly left his mark on the place. Not only did the father of eight leave the house trashed, strewn with garbage and debris with walls and doors damaged from Jon’s dog, he left something behind: A kitten. Yes, the landlord says she discovered a tiny cat abandoned there. Eways says she called Jon to ask about the kitten and he admitted as much. Well, specifically, he said his ex-girlfriend Liz Jannetta (the one he appeared on Couples Therapy with, apparently without a lot of success) left it there. According to earlier reports, Jon’s ex moved out in September, so the kitty was there for at least a few weeks with just Jon if our calendar is correct. Eways says the sight of the poor kitten “broke [her] heart” so she decided to adopt it. In that sense, at least the animal has a loving home now. But wow, Jon. We know times are tough, and being married to Kate Gosselin must have caused him major psychological damage … but come ON. What would his kids think? Pretty much every second of it took place on reality TV. Star reached out to Jon, who claims what the landlord says “isn’t completely true,” but wouldn’t elaborate. So that totally makes us view him more favorably. Meanwhile, speaking of Kate, she’s having a yard sale soon and says that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to her local animal rescue league. We can’t believe we’re saying this, but #TeamKate. Too bad the animal rescue group find a way to relocate Jon from himself. Clearly he needs it. Also he needs a home BTW. Being broke and getting evicted and all.
