Sally Ride, the first woman to ever go into space, passed away today after a 17-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 61. Ride’s company, Sally Ride Science, made the announcement a couple hours ago and said Sally died in California. Ride joined NASA in 1978 and rocketed into space six years later. She was also the youngest American to enter space – at age 32 – at the time. In 1987, Ride left NASA to work at Stanford’s Center for International Security and Arms Control. Katherine Jackson may have been found , but controversy and confusion continues to reign when it comes to the Jackson family these days. TMZ sources confirm that L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the Jackson compound in Calabasas today after family members reported some kind of disturbance. A battery report was filed, but it’s unclear at the moment who was involved. No arrests were made. Sheriff deputies have reportedly been keeping an eye on the family since April because a business associate of the family claims Katherine Jackson is being mistreated by certain relatives. This dispute allegedly was connected to that assertion. Meanwhile, tension has mounted between family members because Michael Jackson’s will left all of his money and assets to his three children and the Michael Jackson Trust. No siblings were listed on the document. When Katherine Jackson was first reported missing , many believed it was somehow related to this feud – and many are still confused about why she had no contact with her grandchildren for a week. It’s all a very confusing situation, which, sadly, is commonplace at this point for the Jacksons.

Must be nice… According to TMZ reports : A huge development in the Michael Jackson Estate case. The Executors have done so well making money for the Estate since Jackson died, they want to fund the Michael Jackson Trust to the tune of $30 million for the benefit of Katherine Jackson and Michael’s 3 kids. TMZ has obtained court documents in which co-Executors John Branca and John McClain are asking the court’s permission to fund the trust. According to the docs, the Estate generated more than $310 million in gross revenues as of December 31, 2010 — that’s the latest accounting. In addition to funding the trust, the Executors are asking the court’s permission to sell the longtime family home on Hayvenhurst Avenue in Encino, CA. According to the docs, Katherine wants to sell the house and, although no price is mentioned, the property was valued at $4,150,000 when Michael died. The docs say Katherine wants the Estate to purchase another home and she’s eying several properties, but we’re told the home she really wants is the Calabasas house in which she and the kids are currently living. Michael Jackson wanted his kids to lead the normal childhood he never had, but they still idolize their famous dad and want to follow in his footsteps. So they told Good Morning America in interview to air tomorrow. The late King of Pop’s mom, Katherine, joins Prince, Paris and Blanket in talking about how they have “adjusted pretty well” to life without Michael. It’s no secret that the Jackson family doesn’t practice the most effective financial habits. But with what TMZ is reporting Michael’s estate brought in since his death, his kids better be taken care of forever! The Michael Jackson estate has made more than $310 million since MJ died back in 2009 … this according to legal documents obtained by TMZ. TMZ has obtained the first accounting that MJ executors filed … showing exactly how much money Michael owed when he passed away on June 25, 2009 … and how much the estate has made since — and the numbers are astounding. According to the documents, MJ had more than $400 million in various debts when he died … but the estate has already made more than $310 million since. Documents show excecutors have already spent roughly $159 mil paying back various debts, income taxes and other expenses such as providing “uninterrupted support for Mrs. [Katherine] Jackson and Michael Jackson’s children as Michael intended.” The estate has also paid for Katherine to make “substantial improvements” to the family’s famous Havenhurst estate in Encino, CA. Executors have also shelled out cash to “pay last illness and funeral and memorial service expenses.” In addition to the $400 million in debt — MJ’s estate had $40 million in liabilities to concert promoter AEG stemming from the “This Is It” tour … which MJ was rehearsing for when he died. The documents show the estate received more than 65 creditor’s claims — with some of the debt accruing interest at “extremely high” rates. The MJ executors admit the estate still faces several lawsuits in multiple countries. Man, listen. We’re only going to say this one more time: we better not EVER hear ANYONE say Michael’s kids are broke.

It’s another grueling day for the Jackson Family at the Downtown LA Courthouse as Randy and Katherine reenter to continue their quest for criminal justice in the murder of Michael Jackson. May justice prevail, and all the guilty parties be uprooted and punished.
