Academy of Country Music Awards 2014: List of Nominations!

Nominations for the Academy of Country Music Awards are in, and it appears that the 49th annual event will feature some familiar faces at the podium. Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw and Keith Urban lead the pack, along with Lee Brice, Kacey Musgraves, The Voice coach Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift. Lambert and McGraw each earned seven nods, while Urban garnered six. Musgraves, Shelton and Swift are each nominated in five of the categories. Others earning multiple nods included Lady Antebellum, with four, and Darius Rucker, with three, including the coveted Song of the Year honors. First-time nominees include Bob Dylan for Song of the Year and Nelly, for vocal event of the year for his “Cruise” remix with Florida Georgia Line. Country traditionalist George Strait was honored with his 14th career Entertainer of the Year nomination. He last won the ACM’s top award in 1989. The nominees were unveiled by the likes of Erin Andrews, Duck Dynasty ‘s Willie and Korie Robertson , Katy Perry, 2 Broke Girls’ Beth Behrs and others. The show, hosted by Shelton and reigning Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan (who has three nods), will be broadcast from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas April 6. Kendrick Lamar, Imagine Dragons Own Grammys With "Radioactive" Remix: Watch Now!

He lost out to Macklemore & Ryan Lewis in a number of key categories, but Kendrick Lamar still took the Grammys stage by storm on Sunday evening. Performing with Imagine Dragons, the rapper performed a mashup of the band’s hit “Radioactive” with “M.A.A.D City” from his album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City . Watch the show-stopping live collaboration below: Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar Grammy Awards Performance Lamar’s record was nominated for the Album of the Year and Best Rap Album, and the up-and-comer was up for five more awards at the annual event. Should he have been among the 2014 Grammy Awards winners ? Maybe believe so. But any perceived snub should only fuel the talented youngster. Lamar’s debut studio album, which ranked second on the Billboard 200, has already earned him extensive critical acclaim as well as wide  popularity. GQ named him Rapper of the Year for 2013. For the performance, the band and rapper dressed in all white and rocked out on the smoke-filled stage, strobe lights blazing and sound pulsating. The sound cut out multiple times during Lamar’s explicit rhymes, while Jay Z, Beyonce, Lorde , Katy Perry, Robin Thicke and Steven Tyler danced in approval. Soon after the energetic performance generated major buzz, Imagine Dragons debuted the remix to “Radioactive,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, on iTunes. Dr. Luke: Confirmed as American Idol Judge!

Dr. Luke has been confirmed as a new judge on American Idol. Try to contain your excitement, people. According to E! News, music producer (real name: Lukasz Gottwald) has been selected by producers after efforts to land Kanye West, Diddy and will.i.am  fell through. He will join Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez on the 2014 panel. Luke is not a major name, of course, but neither was Simon Cowell when Idol premiered. The songwriter-producer is behind such hits as Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” Kesha’s “Tik Tok” and Katy Perry’s “California Gurls.” Are you excited for Dr. Luke to judge American Idol?   Yes No Who?!?
