Kelly Clarkson Loses Weight, Finds Love, Goes Blond

‘I have no desire to be super-skinny,’ Stronger singer tells Redbook. By Jocelyn Vena Kelly Clarkson Photo: FilmMagic Kelly Clarkson seems to be feeling “stronger” these days thanks to a healthier lifestyle and a slimmed-down figure. In a new interview with Redbook magazine, the singer talks all about how she lost the weight but said never wants to lose too many pounds. “I do cardio. I run. I strength-train using my own body weight. I don’t like free weights, because I build muscle easily,” she told the magazine. “Really, what I try to instill in my fans is to be healthy and happy. I have no desire to be super-skinny.” In addition to sporting a new dress size in the July issue, Clarkson has recently started rocking a new hair color. After being brunette for a while, she was photographed in London on Wednesday with a deep, honey-blond style . She’s in the U.K. promoting her new single, “Dark Size,” as well as her new gig as a mentor on the U.S. singing competition show “Duets.” As one of the show’s coaches, Kelly definitely has wisdom to share, considering her experience as the first-ever “American Idol” winner. She will probably offer the guidance she wished she had during her time on the Fox show. “I’m going to be completely honest: I had no one looking out for me,” she said. “They were looking out for the show, and it was horrible. I was 19 years old. I was smart enough to know that it wasn’t about me, but that didn’t make it any easier. I’m all cried out about it, but my first four years, I hated my life; I almost quit a dozen times.” These days the singer does have someone looking out for her. She met boyfriend Brandon Blackstock through her pal Reba McEntire; Blackstock is the country star’s stepson. Now, the queen of breakup anthems joked that she’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. “I know — where’s the kick in the ass? I told my assistant that today. I said, ‘I’m just waiting for something to blow up.’ She said, ‘No, that’s what happiness is.’ I’m like, ‘Maybe I’ve never been happy!’ Because Brandon does, he makes me happy.” Share your thoughts on Kelly’s new look in the comments section! Pusha T Slams Drake in "Exodus 23:1", Lil Wayne Responds in Intense Rap Beef

A new Pusha T song, “Exodus 23:1,” is the cause of a budding hip hop feud between the artist and Lil Wayne’s Young Money crew, including Drake. In the song, Pusha T does not name either Drake or his YM boss Weezy, but it’s apparently obvious to peeps who listen to this stuff what he’s referring to. As a result, Wayne fired back at Pusha T and his supporters via Twitter: “Fuk pusha t and anybody that love em,” he wrote on the social media site. On “Exodus 23:1,” Pusha raps: “Contract all fucked up / I guess that means you all f–ked up / You signed to one n—-, that’s signed to another n—-, that’s signed to three n—-s.” “Now that’s bad luck / Damn that sh-t even the odds now / You better off selling this hard now / You call it living out your dreams / You can’t fly without your wings.” What that means, we have no f–king idea, but it sounds hardcore, based on all the profanity, and Lil Wayne is clearly far from pleased about it. Stay tuned. More angry Tweets are sure to come. [Photos: WENN.com]

Jessica Vega, Bride Who Faked Cancer to Pay For Wedding, Released From Jail

Jessica Vega, a New York woman who faked having cancer so donors would pay for her “dream wedding” and Caribbean honeymoon, was released from jail Wednesday after repaying the guests she conned and agreeing to community service. Makes that stomach flu you used to skip work last month seem tame at least. Vega apologized in court for the scam and was sentenced to time served. She had been behind bars less than two months since her arrest. After her unbelievable stunt unraveled, she pleaded guilty in April to charges of scheming to defraud and possession of a forged instrument. When she left the Orange County Jail in upstate New York a few hours later, she apologized again, insisting that “of course” she was sorry. Officials say Jessica Vega had paid back more than $13,000 to her guests, with nine victims getting checks ranging from $500-3,700. Vega also was sentenced to five years of probation and must do 300 hours of community service while undergoing mental health treatment. She was living in Montgomery, 60 miles north of NYC, when she began the scam, which picked up steam when a newspaper did a story on her. Residents of the area, touched by her claim to be dying of leukemia, had donated her dress, the wedding rings, an Aruba time-share and more. Sometime after the 2010 wedding, the groom, Michael O’Connell, went to the newspaper with questions about Vega’s story, and they divorced. Police investigated and Vega was arrested in early April in Virginia, where she was surprisingly again living with O’Connell and their two kids. The judge said he doubted that Vega was the sole perpetrator of the scam. O’Connell said afterward he had “absolutely nothing” to do with it.

Young Buck Facing 18 Months In Prison

Onetime G-Unit rapper reached a plea deal with Nashville prosecutors on gun charges dating back to 2010. By Rob Markman Young Buck Photo: Arnold Turner/ WireImage Young Buck started his rap career with a ton of promise, but his legal problems thwarted that potential and his woes continue to mount. According to reports, the former G-Unit MC is looking at an 18-month prison stint for gun possession. The Tennessee rap star has agreed to a plea deal with Nashville prosecutors that will land him behind bars for a year and half, TMZ reported on Tuesday (May 22). A judge signed off on the plea, but Buck won’t be sentenced formally until July 13. “I got to go to the penitentiary in two months,” Buck said in a personal video posted online over the weekend. “F— with me for real, hold me down — and when I get out of the penitentiary, all you rap n—as better get the f— out the way. I ain’t even gonna say no names, but it’s a good thing I’m about to go to the penitentiary.” After an IRS raid on Buck’s Nashville home in 2010, authorities found a .40 caliber Glock 22 as well as ammunition. The raid followed reports that the rapper had an outstanding $300,000 tax debt, and because he’s a convicted felon, Buck is prohibited from possessing any firearms. Back in 2005, he pleaded no contest to assault with a chance to produce bodily injury after he stabbed a man while trying to defend Dr. Dre at the 2004 Vibe Awards . Buck rose to fame as a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew. In 2004, his debut, Straight Outta Cashville, went platinum; he followed that up with 2007’s sophomore effort, Buck the World. But by ’08, Young Buck had gotten himself kicked out of the group after tension between him and label boss 50. The MC has been releasing mixtape material on and off ever since, including The Rehab, an independent street album. Related Artists Young Buck

Kelly Clarkson Brings ‘American Idol’ Expertise To ‘Duets’

ABC’s new reality singing show puts seasoned superstars onstage with amateur singers. By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News At first glance, “Duets” may just seem like another reality singing competition, but the new ABC show couldn’t be more different. Because this time, the superstars are not behind a judging panel, but onstage with the contestants. The show, which premieres Thursday (May 24), pits pop star Kelly Clarkson , Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles and R&B crooners Robin Thicke and John Legend against one another as they pair up with two amateur singers, whom they found before the show. Each week the stars will battle it out, duet style, in front of a live audience to ultimately win the grand prize for the amateur singer: a recording contract with Hollywood Records. “I basically just found my two people on my own,” Kelly Clarkson told MTV News recently at an event announcing ABC’s fall lineup. “[Robin] found them a completely different way and John found his a completely different way, it’s kind of really random, but it’s cool though.” Going into the competition, Clarkson figured she had a slight advantage given her experience on “American Idol,” which she won during the first season. But as soon as cameras started rolling for “Duets,” she realized she had her work cut out for her. “It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work,” Clarkson admitted. “I totally thought I had a one-up from ‘Idol’ … It is way harder.” “I’m just going to try and do kind of what I did on ‘Idol’ and hopefully that will help my people,” Clarkson said. “It’s not really as much up to us, the stars on the show, it’s more for the kids that really just need to make sure they are bringing their A-game every week.” Are you excited for “Duets”? ‘American Idol’ Producer ‘Thrilled’ By Final Three

‘I can’t even begin to think who the final is going to be between,’ Nigel Lythgoe tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Nigel Lythgoe Photo: MTV News And then there were three. The final trio of contestants will face off this week on “American Idol,” and if you think you know who might win, “Idol” producer Nigel Lythgoe points out that there’s really no way to predict the winner. With it all down to Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and judge-favorite Joshua Ledet , the chances of predicting who will be the season 11 champion is nearly impossible, especially given the show’s history. “I guess I was shocked at Colton [Dixon] going so early . I thought he might even make the final. We’ve had very talented singers all this season. I’m thrilled with the three people who are left,” he told MTV News at an event announcing Fox’s fall lineup on Monday. “I can’t even begin to think who the final is going to be between. “And then whichever combination you look: If Joshua is sent home, where does Joshua’s votes go to, Jessica or to Phillip? Where does Jessica’s votes go, if she’s sent home? Where do Phillip’s votes [go]?” he continued about any final combinations ahead of the May 23 finale. “So… I still don’t know with the combination of just moving it around who is going to win.” That being said, Lythgoe must have some gut feeling about who will join the ranks of Jordin Sparks, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Kris Allen as the “Idol” victor this time around? “I don’t have to use my gut,” he said. “I know the results every week and nobody has won two weeks on the run. It’s so dependent, I think, on song choice now and how they do. The judges can critique, America makes its own decision at the end of the day.” Do you think you can predict the next American Idol?
