Shots Fired: Solange Says Kimmy Cakes Is “Too Low Brow And Tacky” To Be BFF With Big Sis Bey

Does Solange hate Kimmy Cakes? Beyonce and Solange Knowles are said to have gotten into a fight over the singer’s new friendship with Kim Kardashian. The pair have been spotted spending time together at Kanye and Jay-Z’s ‘Watch The Throne’ tour and most recently at the BET Awards, and Kim is even said to be bonding with Blue Ivy. However, Beyonce’s younger sister Solange isn’t too pleased with the new friendship and told the singer exactly what she thinks… “In Solange’s eyes, Beyonce is a stand-out star, a premier singer of our time, whereas Kim is just a reality TV star who only got famous after a sex tape was leaked,” a source claims. “So she called Beyonce out on it, and they had a fight over Kim. It culminated with Beyonce telling Solange she can be friends with whomever she wants.” It’s sweet that Solange is standing up for her sister’s “reputation”, but we’re not sure she has any room to offer recommendations on who is good enough to hang with Beyonce. Do “sisters know best?” Should Solo be attempting to help big sis Bey stay clear of Kim? Source

Ace Hood And We The Best Sign To YMCMB

‘When you got a young man with that kind of focus, you never know how far he can go in this business,’ Birdman tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Ace Hood Photo: Bennett Raglin/ Getty Images Seems like Ace Hood ‘s hustling has paid off in a big way. On Monday night, on the set of DJ Khaled ‘s “Take It to the Head” video shoot, Birdman made a very special announcement to MTV News correspondent Sway Calloway concerning Ace Hood and Khaled’s budding label. “I’d like to let the world know that Khaled’s brand, which is We the Best, is officially signed to YMCMB and the first act coming out that umbrella … will be Ace Hood,” Birdman said. “I always wanted to have a chance to work with Ace Hood.” Ace has kept close ties with Birdman’s Cash Money/ Young Money camp. Birdman appeared on “This N—a Here,” a track off from Ace’s 2009 sophomore effort Ruthless, and Lil Wayne jumped on Hood’s “Hustle Hard” remix last year. Baby has had his eye on Ace for a while now, but he was signed to Def Jam. At press time, it is unclear whether Def Jam is involved in this new deal. “We wanted to do it right, set it up right. I think Ace Hood is a superstar,” the #1 Stunna said. “I love his work ethic, I think he’s a very talented young man and he gonna be a big superstar in this business and I wanted to be the one to help him become that. It was important to me.” So now, through Khaled’s We the Best, Ace Hood joins Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga and, of course, Lil Wayne on the already-powerhouse label. “When you got a young man with that kind of focus, you never know how far he can go in this business,” Birdman said. How Will Kanye West, DJ Khaled Follow ‘Way Too Cold’?

‘Expect another monstrous earthquake to hit the streets,’ Khaled promises MTV News of his next Kanye collabo. By Rob Markman DJ Khaled Photo: MTV News If you happen to feel the ground shake in the next few months, don’t be alarmed: Chances are, you’ll just be feeling the after effects of another Kanye West and DJ Khaled single drop. Originally, Kanye’s Kim Kardashian-loving single “Way Too Cold” ( originally titled “Theraflu” ) was slated for the boisterous Cash Money disc jock’s upcoming Kiss the Ring LP, but Khaled didn’t mind giving Yeezy first dibs because the two have another in the stash. “Me and Kanye West went back in the lab and we made another record and got some features on there too,” Khaled told MTV News after a taping of “Hip Hop Squares,” careful not to let too many deets leak. “I can’t really talk about it, so expect another monstrous earthquake to hit the streets.” Throughout his career, Khaled has served as a master matchmaker, pairing the likes of Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and T-Pain on an array of high-powered posse tracks like “We Takin’ Over” and “Welcome to My Hood.” His latest single, “Take it to the Head,” groups Weezy, Rozay, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown, and on his next LP, the charismatic Khaled promises more of the same. ” Kiss the Ring is gonna be the real deal,” he said. When it comes to his collaborations with West, Khaled throws all the rules out the window. On “Way Too Cold,” the Chi-Town virtuoso not only pissed off PETA by boasting that his mink was draggin’ on the floor, he also confessed his love for Kim Kardashian, tossed a nod to Wiz Khalifa and threw a thinly veiled shot at Kardashian’s ex-hubby Kris Humphries. The Hit-Boy-supplied beat and Kanye’s ear-catching lyrics are what makes the Khaled-assisted track stand out. “On my end, I got this thing with ‘Ye where I tell him there’s no rules and there’s no regulations. It’s no format, and ain’t nobody gonna tell us nothing on what we’re gonna do,” Khaled told MTV News on April 5. The Miami-based DJ/producer wouldn’t say much else about his and Yeezy’s next release, but who knows? Maybe he will spill the beans when he appears on today’s (April 18) “RapFix Live” with host Sway Calloway. Future, DJ Khaled And Juvenile To Join ‘RapFix Live’ Party

Join the hip-hop trio Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com By Rob Markman Future, DJ Khaled and Juvenile Photo: Getty Images “RapFix Live” is ready to turn up. Last week, Sway welcomed Ace Hood and TDE’s Schoolboy Q on the red couch, but this week, he’ll have to make even more room because Future , DJ Khaled and Juvenile will all be stopping by to kick it Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. On Tuesday, Future is dropping his debut album, Pluto. To celebrate, he will swing through the “RapFix” set and make an appearance on MTV’s new weekly talk show “Hip Hop POV” on Wednesday. The “Tony Montana” rapper’s first shot features R. Kelly, T.I., Juicy J, Snoop Dogg and Trae Tha Truth. His single “Magic” peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B charts, and his next record, “Same Damn Time,” is starting to bubble as well. It’ll be quite the moment if the rap newcomer crosses paths with veteran MC Juvenile , who will also be in the studio. Juvie began his career as the shining star on Birdman’s Cash Money Records. His 1998 LP, 400 Degreez, was a pivotal hip-hop album and ultimately established Cash Money as a musical force to be reckoned with. It spawned singles like “Ha” and the rump-shaking “Back That Azz Up.” Juvie left CMR in 2002 and has largely carried on by himself. He dropped his last solo album, Beast Mode, in 2010 and earlier this year released his Mardi Gras mixtape with DJ Smallz. Now you can’t have a party without DJ Khaled . Since 2006, the Miami representative has been carving his lane as a hitmaker. On his debut LP, Listennn… the Album, Khaled paired artists like Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel on high-powered collaborative cuts. He successfully improved on the formula through the years and has delivered with hit records like “I’m So Hood” featuring T-Pain, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy and Plies, as well as last year’s inescapable single “I’m On One” with Drake, Ross and Lil Wayne. Khaled’s latest track, “Take It to the Head,” partners Chris Brown, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj on a single track. His sixth studio album, Kiss the Ring, is due later this year.
