Despite recently separating from her husband Tarek, Christina El Moussa is finding the best way to smile through the toughest of times. The Flip or Flop star shared a sweet Instagram video of her 15-month-old son, Brayden James, and few things, if any, could be cuter. “Even on my roughest days he always brings a smile to my face. #BraydenJames you make our lives complete,” the 33-year-old wrote. Consistent with the separated HGTV couple's efforts to keep things amicable – at least in public – she tagged Tarek El Moussa as well. The hosts of the popular house flipping show recently announced that they've been separated since a bizarre police incident back in May. It's not clear how TMZ broke the story so many months later, but the pair confirmed it, saying they are committed to their work and kids. They are parents to Brayden and 6-year-old daughter Taylor. Christina and Tarek will continue to work together on their show – at least until Flip or Flop is canceled – after seven years of marriage. They have been, and are, seeing other people however. “We have both dated other people following the separation, but neither of us is ready to announcing anything in terms of another relationship.” “We plan to continue our professional life together by being professional, by doing our jobs well, by being prepared and by working hard.” Christina is dating Gary Anderson , a family contractor who was reportedly a witness to the former couple's big blowup earlier this year. Tarek was dating the nanny … but that's over already. As for reports of Christina and Tarek getting back together ? It's not happening, no matter how well they're doing as co-parents lately. Farrah Abraham is widely despised on social media, but it’s hard to feel bad for her, because she basically begs for it. Like a disobedient toddler, Farrah just wants attention, and she doesn’t care if it’s positive or negative. That said, for the first time ever, Farrah’s followers might be going too hard on her. Either that, or she’s an abhorrent racist. It says a lot about Farrah that both scenarios are pretty much equally likely. Anyway, the latest controversy surrounding everyone’s least-favorite sex tape star involves the paranoia-inducing Christmas tradition, Elf on the Shelf. If you’re not familiar with Elf, then your Facebook friends are less annoying than ours, and we envy you. Basically, it’s a holiday “game” straight out of an Edward Snowden fever dream, in which parents hide an elf doll and tell their kids it’s a spy from Santa. Anyway, as she does with most things, Farrah found a way to make Elf on the Shelf horrendous. Well, maybe. Fans are accusing her of doing something truly dumb and awful, and we would say they’re jumping to conclusions, but Farrah is involved, which means the most jackass-y explanation is probably the most accurate. Check out the evidence and decide for yourself: Yes that’s two shelf elves with Snapchat filters, one of whom has his face completely covered. Fans who spent a lot of time analyzing this pic claim that the portion of the left elf that we can see indicates that he’s black. Obviously, if that’s true, it means Farrah completely blocked out the black elf’s face, a move that may not have had racist motivations behind it, but that totally comes off as random act of bigotry. Not surprisingly, there are some heated debates going on in the pic’s comments section, and many of the arguments revolve around the message that Farrah is sending to her daughter. Alan Thicke, a veteran actor best known and beloved for his role as the patriarch on Growing Pains, died suddenly on Tuesday afternoon. He was 69 years old. According to TMZ, Thicke was playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter, when he collapsed, seemingly of a heart attack. He was transported to Providence St. Joseph’s Medical Center around noon and pronounced dead by doctors at that facility. The star often played hockey at a rink in Burbank, California. Sources confirm to TMZ that he and Carter were on the ice around 11 a.m. when Thicke began experiencing chest pain; he the got nauseous and vomited. The ambulance picked the actor up around a half hour later and took him to the hospital. Thicke received a 1988 Golden Globes nomination for his portraual of Jason Seaver, Growing Pains. A decade later, he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as a co-producer for the game show Pictionary. More recently, the actor – who was the father of singer Robin Thicke, along with two other kids – and his family starred on the reality show, Unusually Thicke. He also appeared as himself on This Is Us Season 1 Episode 1 . Expect plenty of celebrity condolences to pour in over the coming days and weeks, but here is what a handful of those who knew Thicke well had to say upon learning this sad news: Ellen DeGeneres : America loved Alan Thicke. Last month, Kanye West was hospitalized following an emotional breakdown that resulted in at least one 911 call. The rapper received nearly two weeks of in-patient treatment at the UCLA Medical Center, and while he has since been released, he remains under 24-hour medical supervision. Sources say Kanye is getting better by the day, but he reportedly continues to suffer setbacks, in large part because he frequently defies doctor’s orders. “Everyone in the family is still very worried about Kanye, but he will not listen to anyone because Kanye thinks he knows it all,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online. The insider adds that West’s refusal to slow down and make his recovery his top priority has left his family and medical staff deeply concerned about the possibility of a relapse. Of particular concern is Kanye’s decision to bury himself in his work rather than confront his problems: “He has just become even more withdrawn and, instead of getting rest and relaxation, he is at his studio working 24/7,” the source claims. It seems part of the problem is that Kanye and Kim Kardashian are living in separate homes for the safety of their children. (The severity of West’s condition has not been conclusively determined.) The forced estrangement is reportedly taking a considerable toll on Kanye and making it even more difficult for him to focus on his mental health. “Kanye has spent very little time at home with Kim and the kids, which is why they have stayed at Kris’s house several times after Kanye had his breakdown,” says the source. Insiders claim that the reports about Kim and Kanye getting divorced are bogus, and insist that they’re only living under separate roofs out of an abundance of caution. It seems the couple is currently stuck in a sort of catch-22 situation: Kim’s absence is exacerbating Kanye’s condition, but he can’t live with his wife and children again until he’s well enough that he won’t be putting them at risk. Her mother may be able to see Russia from her house, but Bristol Palin can see some more dirty diapers and happy memories on the horizon: The former Dancing with the Stars contestant is pregnant once again! Unlike the first two instance, however, Bristol is married to the father of her impending baby. (We mean this as no slight to Bristol. It’s simply a fact.) Palin and husband Dakota Meyer confirmed that they are expecting their second child in an interview on Friday with Entertainment Tonight. “We are so excited to announce that our family is expanding!” the couple told ET in a joint statement, adding: “God has blessed us so much; we are thankful for His grace and new beginnings. A springtime baby in the Meyer home and we can’t wait!” Palin’s previous two pregnancies were met with controversy and a bit of consternation. First, it came to light that she was expecting a child with boyfriend Levi Johnston while her mother, Sarah Palin, was running for Vice President of the United States in 2008. The pair eventually broke up and only recently agreed on a shared custody arrangement of seven-year old Tripp. Bristol would become somewhat of a D-List celebrity in her own right, appearing on the aforementioned ABC reality competition and speaking out for conservative causes such as gun control. Fast forward to the spring of 2015 and Palin calling off her wedding to Meyer, just days before the two were scheduled to exchange vows. Common Talks 13th , Social Activism Common is really living up to his original rap name “Common Sense” these days. The rapper’s activism anthem “Letter to the Free” is the end-title track on 13th and has already been nominated for a 2016 Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for “Best Song in a Documentary.” The song’s lyrics tackle America’s racial divide and reflect the film’s focus on the prison system as a new form of slavery in America. It’s also featured on Common’s own latest album, “Black America Again.” Take a listen: We caught up with Common to chat about the single, his invovlement with the project, and how his affiliation with Ava Duvernay movies have shaped his musical direction and activism… What made you want to become involved with 13th in the way that you have? 13th hit me in a way…it was like I know some of this, I didn’t know about this ALEC stuff, I didn’t even know the 13th amendment said that — I’ll be honest — I didn’t even realize that the 13th amendment said that if you’re a “criminal,” you can [legally] be a slave. So all that information, I’m still continuing to learn. It’s been an awakening for the country. This is part of American history and the same way we teach our kids about the people who came to revolutionize this country, we need to teach them about slavery too. We need to teach them about slavery and how that ties into where we are now. If they can see that, they would be able to put two and two together and start functioning differently. Your name has become more and more synonymous with “wokeness” in a sense since your involvement in Selma a few years back. How do you feel that movie experience prepared you for projects like 13th and even placing some of the messages you have in your latest album? Well, Selma was definitely one of the moments that changed my life forever. One of the greatest experiences of my life. One of the reasons is being introduced to the Civil Rights Movement in another way. It’s more than just researching and reading it in textbooks. You’re talking to people. Ambassador Andrew Young came and had a talk the first day of our rehearsal and said “What are you willing to die for? Live for that.” He said that was the whole mentality of the people of the Civil Rights movement. “We’re willing to die for freedom, so we’re going to live for freedom. We’re dedicating each day toward that.” One of the practical things I was able to connect with was the fact that each and every person that was a part of that movement, each day they contributed something towards fighting for that freedom. They dedicated their lives to saying “okay, some part of my day will be dedicated towards that.” I felt like, I have been doing things and putting my spirit and energy into wanting to see change, but I had to do more. I had to contribute my days into being more active and more present — not only in the music. So then, aside from the music, what ways did you begin pursuing to be more active? That made me think about things, and question how can I use my creativity not only towards the art that I’m doing that is socio-political work, but how can I use my mind towards these communities. So that made me start going into communities and start to listen and made me more political than I had ever been. Before I would think — “Okay, I need to vote for the president.” And “I’ll vote for this person I know about.” But now, I need to know. If I have a problem with police injustice and police killing Black people, I need to know what things I can do policy-wise to help change things. Who is the person that selects the police chief? Who is the person that sets up the training for the policemen in this state and that state? Not that I’m going to know everything, but even if it’s connecting with groups that do know, so that I can get that information and see how I can contribute my name, celebrity, whatever access I have, and creativity towards that change. What action has 13th pushed you to take? With this movie, I’ll put it this way: If I’m going to talk it and rap it, I’ll have to be it. So I will be at somebody’s prison — just building with brothers and sisters about getting out and what life will be like getting out and trying to provide help in that way. I even realized this morning from Kim Fox, the State’s Attorney of Chicago — she comes from Cabrini-Green in Chicago so she’s for the people, she comes from it — she says one of the biggest issues is, they don’t assist people when they’re about to get out of jail, so when they come out, they’re shocked. And it’s hard to get jobs, hard to get housing, you can’t vote in certain places, so then you feel second-class, and then you end up going back to that same cycle. So, if someone has been convicted of a crime, when they’re about to get out, when do we start training them to work on that? I want to help with figuring that out. Nice! Sources say she quietly eluded inquiries about her possible upcoming nuptials with the actor, but the rumor runs deeper than that. Now, a new rumor has Katy’s 91 million Twitter followers buzzing thanks to a seven-second video clip that people are probably reading into way too much. Noted pantsuit enthusiast and historical footnote Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance at last night’s annual UNICEF ball in Manhattan, where Katy was being honored. Perry and Clinton became such besties during the 2016 presidential campaign that Katy dressed as Hillary for Halloween . Obviously, Hillary was more of a BFD than Katy for much of 2016, but now that the Orange Overlord has fulfilled the prophecy of doom, Katy once again has the upper-hand.
