On VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood Season 3 Episode 2 Monday night, Ray J’s love life continued to be the subject of much fascination. For her part, Princess has mixed it up with Teairra Mari in the past, and now she’s ready to throw down Moniece, it appears. Hard core. After they rehash the drama … they decide to get together again and do so in a West Hollywood establishment where all hell breaks loose. Kyesha admits that she’s still in love with Willie, and Shanda, despite wanting this meeting to hear the truth, loses her s–t when she hears it. You would think her rage would be directed at Willie Taylor, her husband, for his “we just texted for 10 years” BS … but no. Only Kyesha. The bottom line here after all this? The Kardashians are famous for being paid oodles of cash to promote a product, but are they playing by the rules (or rather, the law) when it comes to sponsored posts? According to Page Six , a letter from watchdog group Truth In Advertising reportedly sent a letter to momager Kris Jenner’s legal team, warning her that they “have found that members of the Kardashian/Jenner family are engaged in deceptive marketing campaigns .” The group has been meticulously following the Instagram accounts of Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as their younger sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and gathered 27 companies – incluing Puma, Calvin Klein, JetSmarter, Fit Tea, Estée Lauder and Karl Lagerfeld – they were working with. What the group found was “a plethora of posts that do not clearly or conspicuously disclose their relationships with the companies being promoted in the posts as is required by federal law.” The group has informed Jenner that if the issues aren’t “fully corrected” by Wednesday, the family will be reported to the Federal Trade Commission. It’s no secret that the Kardashians have been hawking products since Keeping Up With The Kardashians became wildly popular in 2007, but federal law requires that a company and its participants clearly state that the post is sponsored. “The law is clear and people are not following it, and it’s not being enforced very often,” TINA spokeswoman Bonnie Patten told Page Si x. Social media is becoming the new medium for advertising, and this law is making it even more difficult for a celebrity or person of influence to share a product with followers without being asked, “is this sponsored? Are you being paid to promote this?” The Fashion Law website broke it down for readers, clarifying what constitutes a sponsored post . “Is posting a photo an endorsement? The FTC says yes!” The Fashion Law explains. “A photo is enough to trigger the need to disclose: Simply posting a picture of a product on social media, such as on Pinterest or Instagram, or a video of you using it, could convey that you like and approve of the product. Dwayne Johnson just wrapped filming on Fast 8. Soon afterward, he took to Instagram and showed cast and crew members from the movie with praise and gratitude. Well, MOST cast and crew members, that is. “Finished strong and on to the next. That’s an officially wrap on #FastAndFurious8. Thank you to our director @fgarygray for the vision and execution,” Johnson wrote as a caption to the image above. Fair enough, right? It’s also a good thing and a nice thing to thank one’s director. But then Johnson continued as follows: “Thank you to all my fellow co-stars for the daily effort and grind. Scott Eastwood you handsome sumbitch! Natalie Emmanuel I have a cold Budweiser ready for you and Tyrese Gibson you still have the biggest smile and forehead I’ve ever seen.” This is how Johnson concluded his message: “And a huge THANK YOU to our hard working production crew – the backbone of our business. Candy asses. “When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.” It didn’t take long for sources to confirm that his beef was with Diesel . Insiders told TMZ that Diesel let the power of being a producer go to his head. He allegedly acted like a giant dick on set, berating other actors, showing up late and generally acting like a jerk. Should Johnson receive some flak for not calling Diesel out by name in his Instagram rant ? Perhaps. But most crew members say Johnson was a true, hard-working, generous professional on set. They say Diesel was the opposite. How has Diesel responded to this feud? By briefly acknowledging its existence and by saying he’ll soon tell everyone absolutely everything . He’s yet to actually do this. Tyrese, meanwhile, has come out and said nice things about both Johnson and Diesel, trying hard not to take sides. No other co-star has commented on the bad blood.
