The many rumors have turned into an undeniable reality: I Am Cait will not be coming back for a third season. There’s been talk of E! canceling the reality series for some time now, but that talk has never emanated from any producers on the series of from Caitlyn herself. Until now. A short while ago, Jenner confirmed the news on Twitter. “After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for,” she wrote. Here you go. In case you don’t believe us. I Am Cait debuted in July of 2015. It was announced by the step-father of Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian not long after she sat down for a special interview with Diane Sawyer in April of that year. It was during this interview that Caitlyn came out as Caitlyn, detailing to Sawyer (and a massive audience) her struggle to live life as her true self. I Am Cait received a rebuke from some critics that saw the show as an example of Caitlyn simply exploiting her new transgender lifestyle for money and fame. But it tackled some legitimate issues, bringing various LGBT problems to the forefront for the first time on national television. It was also very popular, with the premiere drawing 2.7 million viewers and a 1.2 demographic rating, on par with Keeping Up With the Kardashians  numbers. By the time I Am Season 2 came around in March, viewership had dropped off considerably; a mere 745,000 viewers tuned in for the first episode of what we can now confirm was the final season. But that doesn’t mean the show as a failure. Not by a long shot. It turned Caitlyn into a household name and it has opened up a number of opportunities not just for her, but for transgender individuals around the country. She has also found other outlets through which she can get across her message. Just this month, for instance, Caitlyn was a guest on HBO’s Any Given Wednesday. Caitlyn Jenner Talks Kim, Kanye and More She also earned a GLAAD Award this summer, giving a heartfelt speech in front of a captive audience: Caitlyn Jenner Wins GLAAD Media Award: Watch Her Speech! “We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs,” an E! spokesperson said in a statement to People Magazine. The statement concluded: “Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. “She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” So… what will be Caitlyn Jenner’s next adventure?
