SMH: ESPN Apologizes For Out Of Pocket “Chink In The Armor” Headline In Reference To Jeremy Lin And Knicks Loss

Who actually believes these jerks are sorry? In their eagerness to make an unfunny pun about the NBA’s newest Asian sensation — Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin , ESPN’s mobile site posted the headline “Chink In The Armor” last night for a story about Jeremy Lin and the Knicks’ loss. ESPN has since removed the headline and released the following statement: Last night, ESPN.com’s mobile web site posted an offensive headline referencing Jeremy Lin at 2:30 am ET. The headline was removed at 3:05 am ET. We are conducting a complete review of our cross-platform editorial procedures and are determining appropriate disciplinary action to ensure this does not happen again. We regret and apologize for this mistake. Uhhh that’s more than a mistake. That’s a pretty racist error. What should ESPN do to show they’re truly apologetic for being so out of pocket??? Some of us on this blog have rooting interests that lie far from where The Schuylkill and The Delaware meet. They’re up past the New Jersey Turnpike, all the way to New York City. For us, ever since the echoes of the Giants’ raucous ride through the Canyon of Heroes faded, it’s been all about the Knicks and Linsanity! And after watching the Linsane 3-pointer to win the game last night, we must admit… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Drug and Device Law Discovery Date : 15/02/2012 16:14 Number of articles : 2

Don’t Know When To Quit: Randy Moss Wants To Come Back To The NFL

Look who’s joining the A.I./T.O. “I need a job” tour. Six months after retiring, the veteran NFL wide receiver wants to play again. Moss announced on a webchat Monday—his 35th birthday—that he’s planning a comeback. His agent, Joel Segal, wouldn’t go into his client’s available options. “Randy and I have discussed it,” Segal said of Moss coming out of retirement. “He still has his fire and he’s looking forward to playing football. He’s excited.” Moss posted on his Twitter page: “Now back to biz!! There’s good an bad an u have to b ready for both! its in gods hand now.” Moss retired last August, compiling 14,858 receiving yards and 153 touchdowns in 13 seasons. He last played in 2010, getting traded by the New England Patriots to the Minnesota Vikings before finishing the season with Tennessee. That year he had career lows of 28 catches for 393 yards. So after getting kicked off of THREE teams last season, he thinks he can come back and play like a star at age 35? Didn’t these athletes learn anything from Brett Favre? Just ride off into the sunset and call it a life. Source Photo: Winslow Townson/AP More On Bossip! Kris Humphries Re-Signs With New Jersey Nets!

Kris Humphries is a free agent no more … professionally anyway. His old NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, have signed him to a one-year contract reportedly worth $8 million for the coming season, which opens next week. Humphries, who has been training in his native Minnesota, was not offered a new deal to return for a second season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York . See? Not everybody wants to dump Kris Humphries! Kris became an unrestricted free agent after last season, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds in what was by far the best of his seven seasons as a pro. He quickly went from being involved in the NBA’s Most Improved Player conversation to being involved in the most ridiculous celebrity breakup of all time. The Nets are set to face off against the Knicks in a preseason battle tomorrow night, and sources tell ESPN that Kris Humphries is expected to suit up and play. He is expected to resume his role as New Jersey’s starting power forward and focus on basketball instead of the circus that has become his personal life. There have been concerns that Kris’ return may diminish Brook Lopez’s rebounding production, but the center said he welcomes the return of “the Hump.” Funny, that’s what we say every day at THG. The New York Knicks Scoop Up Veteran Cavs Point Gaurd Baron Davis To Help ‘Melo And ‘Mare

This shortened NBA season looks like it may just be exciting after all… After using the amnesty clause on Chauncey Billups, the Knicks have been hunting a new starting point guard. Mike Bibby recently signed, but that’s not exactly the answer. Baron Davis was amnestied by the Cavs and cleared waivers, opening up the opportunity for him to sign anywhere. And that anywhere has turned out to be the Knicks, according to ESPN.com and confirmed by Ken Berger of CBSSports.com With the Knicks being well over the cap, the deal had to be for the veteran minimum or the “mini mid-level” the Knicks have. According to SI.com, it is indeed for the $2.5 mini mid-level. Which is why this makes a lot of sense for New York. It’s a low risk, potentially high value signing. Davis still has a lot of game left, it just comes down to motivation and health. And with him being in New York playing on a solid Knicks team, you have to think he’s going to be ready. He’s dealing with a back injury though, and could be out up to 8-10 weeks. However, after being amnetied by the Cavs, that timetable miraculously dropped to 4-6. Other teams reportedly going after Davis were the Heat and Lakers, so the Knicks landing their target to likely start once he’s healthy is a big move. Not to say Davis is going to be a star or anything, but considering the options right now for New York, Davis is about as good as they could do in their situation. Bibby is a nice veteran backup, Toney Douglas isn’t a point guard and Iman Shumpert is mostly an unknown. Davis could at least step in and handle the offense. Knicks fans, hate it or love it?!?! T.I. Gets ‘Support’ From NBA Star Amar’e Stoudemire

‘Me and Tip been homeys for a long time,’ Knicks power forward tells Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman T.I. Photo: Getty Images Celebrity Favorites: Amar’e Stoudemire Rappers weren’t the only ones who lined up to welcome T.I. home after he was released from prison last week. NBA baller Amar’e Stoudemire joined Tip at Atlanta’s Club Esso to celebrate the MC’s homecoming over the weekend. “Me and Tip been homeys for a long time now, so it’s good to see him back on his feet, back out here in the city,” the Knicks power forward said when MTV News caught up with him on the black carpet for the BET Hip Hop Awards. “I came out to support him.” This time of year, Stoudemire is typically gearing up for the basketball season, but due to a labor dispute between the players union and league owner, the 2011-12 NBA basketball season is currently locked out and may be lost entirely if an agreement isn’t reached soon. Stoudemire has been keeping plenty busy. This past weekend, he attended the Hip Hop Awards and will appear as a presenter when the show airs next Tuesday. Not only that, Amar’e is working on a clothing line with Rachel Roy. So what does a top baller listen to during his downtime? Jay-Z and Kanye West, of course. “Right now, I’m on that Watch the Throne album. You can’t go wrong with that one baby,” he proclaimed. Still, the number-one question on every sports fans mind is: When will players return to the hardwood? Stoudemire didn’t have an answer, though he sounded optimistic. “Hopefully soon. Right now, we’re on the cusp trying to figure out what we’re gonna do with this new deal,” he said. “Once we get that sorted out, we should be able to play soon.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .
