Barack Obama Cheating Scandal Alleged; Vera Baker Denies Affair with President

Has President Barack Obama been having an affair with Vera Baker? That’s the shocking allegation made by the National Enquirer in this week’s edition. The publication claims Obama and Baker, a former campaign aide, holed up at Washington, D.C. hotel, and a “security video” could expose everything! Baker, now 35, worked tirelessly to get Obama elected to the U.S. Senate, raising millions in campaign contributions, in 2004. They grew close since. While Vera Baker insists that “nothing happened” between them, the Enquirer says anti-Obama “operatives” are digging hard into the alleged affair. Some are reportedly offering $1 million for information confirming it. Did Barack Obama and Vera Baker have an affair? That’s the allegation of sources who claim the former aide is now his mistress – and claim there’s evidence out there. According to the celebrity gossip tabloid, a limo driver (anonymous of course) claims he drove Vera to a secret hotel rendezvous with the President. He says he drove Baker “from a friend’s home in the D.C. area to the Hotel George where I learned later that Obama would be spending the night.” The driver recalled that he “waited in the lobby while she went to change her outfit. But to the best of my knowledge she did not have a room at the hotel and she was not staying there so I thought that it was a bit odd.” He says he picked up Barack Obama at the airport and drove both he and Vera Baker to various locations while he was raising money . “About 10:30 p.m., I drove them to the hotel and they went in together! My services for the evening were done,” he notes, adding that “there was absolutely no indication she was going to leave the hotel that night.” The Enquirer says the driver’s account had been independently corroborated by investigators who believe the couple spent the night together there. It also claims “on-site hotel surveillance video camera footage could provide indisputable evidence … investigators are working to obtain the tape.” “If the tape surfaces, it will explode the scandal.” Okay, look . We don’t believe this for a second. There are so many holes, we don’t even know where to begin. When did the alleged cheating on Michelle Obama take place? Is there anything beyond them staying in the same building? That said, we have to admit, we thought the same of reports that John Edwards cheated on his wife with, knocked up and tried to pay off Rielle Hunter . Look how that turned out. Granted, the Enquirer had 10 times more details there. There’s a big difference between running for President and nailing some weird videographer and actually being President and having an affair … then again, we would have said the same of Bill Clinton’s Oval Office dalliances too. Basically, don’t believe the Obama tale without a ton more evidence … but don’t assume something like this can’t happen just because it’s the Prez.

‘Me & Bobby McGee’: The Story Behind Crystal Bowersox’s Cover

On ‘American Idol,’ Bowersox earned big praise for singing Janis Joplin’s posthumous hit. By Kyle Anderson Once again, one of the highlights of Tuesday night’s episode of “American Idol” — which was focused on songs that had hit No. 1 on the pop charts — was Crystal Bowersox’s performance. Armed with her trusty guitar and her disarming voice, the rocker sang “Me and Bobby McGee,” which reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. There’s a bittersweet feeling within the lyrics of “Bobby,” as well as in the story surrounding it. The song was written by country legends Kris Kristofferson (who has had a string of hits himself) and Fred Foster (who produced much of Roy Orbison’s best work and helped introduce the world to Dolly Parton) and was recorded by “King of the Road” singer Roger Miller and Canadian folk king Gordon Lightfoot in 1969 and 1970, respectively. Both of those versions became hits, but neither was as big as the one recorded by Joplin, who was friends and occasional lovers with Kristofferson. The bluesy growler recorded the song without his knowledge for her solo album Pearl, which she cut with the Full Tilt Boogie Band. Pearl came out in February of 1971, four months after Joplin’s October 1970 death from a heroin overdose. “Me and Bobby McGee” was released as a commercial single and hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 during the week of March 20, 1971, making Joplin only the second person in history to top that chart posthumously. Though Joplin’s version remains definitive, “Me and Bobby McGee” has been covered by a number of artists, including country greats Kenny Rogers and Johnny Cash, rock icons the Grateful Dead and Melissa Etheridge, and pop idols Olivia Newton-John and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Pink’s version of the track appears on her “Live in Europe” DVD, and Tori Amos has broken it out in concert. Bowersox’s version marks the first time “Me and Bobby McGee” has appeared on “American Idol,” though songs performed by Joplin have popped up five times before. Nikki McKibbin, Carrie Underwood and Asia’h Epperson are among the “Idol” hopefuls who have performed “Piece of My Heart,” while Allison Iraheta knocked out Joplin’s “Cry Baby” last season. What did you think of Crystal Bowersox’s take on “Me and Bobby McGee”? How does it compare to Janis Joplin’s version? Let us know in the comments! Olympic Skeleton Racer Katie Uhlaender Gets A Lesson From Carl Lewis

Olympic great comforts racer after disappointment in Vancouver. By Katie Uhlaender Photo: Shaun Botterill/Getty Images Sport No matter what the results are for an athlete in the Olympic Games, to participate in the Olympic movement is indescribable. To hear “USA” screamed by not only your family but also by other nations’ people who you have touched and inspired is an experience that truly teaches you what the Olympic spirit is. After going through four surgeries (from breaking my kneecap twice) and losing my father less than a year before the Olympic Games, it was a huge accomplishment for me to qualify for Vancouver. It was even more insane to have the fastest starts despite being barely six months from my last surgery. (Too bad I didn’t drive down the track as fast as I ran to curve one.) The Olympics is something we work years for, and it is over in minutes — everything has to be perfect. Nike is the only sponsor I have, and it’s a small deal, but they are full of love for their athletes. They noticed that I was unsure of what was next, and that I was a bit disappointed in the way things had gone down leading into my race since I had really wanted to bring home a medal for my country and my father. Nike sought to remind me what I was a part of, so they told me I was going to watch long track with Carl Lewis! A lot of my disappointment came from how I wanted to walk away from the race prepared, with everything in place, and somehow I allowed that not to happen. I worked so hard for four years, and I walked away wondering what if? Carl listened and said the key to success is finding a support group you can depend on and one person within that group that will look you in the eye and say, “You will be Olympic champion.” At this point I could feel my eyes watering up, and I realized that one person had been my father. I was crying in front of Carl Lewis! I was so embarrassed, but I couldn’t help it. He looked at me as though he was about to start crying as well, and told me how he had also lost his father at 23. I was shocked! He assured me it was going to get better, and asked me what I thought my father would say to me now. He told me my father had been around long enough to make sure I was ready to go out and be the woman he raised me to be, to represent my country and my family name, and to know he has left me with the tools and the knowledge I need to win. I need to let go, and once I’m able to do that my father will be even closer to me. I need faith that I am prepared to face life without him. The rest will come. It’s about finding that person that I can count on no matter what in this new chapter of life without my father. No one will replace him, but it’s time to grow and evolve into, hopefully, that Olympic champion he knew I could be. Carl helped me realize I can’t do this alone, and it will be very important to find that key support. He reminded me what the Olympics are truly about: educating and inspiring those around us to live life with passion and integrity. Those were the basic principles my father taught me, among many other life lessons, and I am honored to be a part of that. There are so many athletes here that have inspired me and picked me up, and not all of them were American. It’s not about nation, it’s not about glory; it is about inspiration.

Thousands Dying Because Haitian Slaves ‘Swore a Pact with the Devil’ for Their Freedom

Galactically vile Christian cleric Pat Robertson told his CBN viewers today that Haitians are “cursed” because their ancestors “swore a pact with the devil” to liberate themselves from the French in 1804. “True story.” What else would he say? Robertson can’t let human suffering pass without finding a way to insinuate that God did it deliberately because he hates gay people, black people, Catholics, or whatever other poor dying sap he can find to cruelly mock and use to his own political and fundraising advantage
