Kris Humphries is a free agent no more … professionally anyway. His old NBA team, the New Jersey Nets, have signed him to a one-year contract reportedly worth $8 million for the coming season, which opens next week. Humphries, who has been training in his native Minnesota, was not offered a new deal to return for a second season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York . See? Not everybody wants to dump Kris Humphries! Kris became an unrestricted free agent after last season, averaging 10 points and 10 rebounds in what was by far the best of his seven seasons as a pro. He quickly went from being involved in the NBA’s Most Improved Player conversation to being involved in the most ridiculous celebrity breakup of all time. The Nets are set to face off against the Knicks in a preseason battle tomorrow night, and sources tell ESPN that Kris Humphries is expected to suit up and play. He is expected to resume his role as New Jersey’s starting power forward and focus on basketball instead of the circus that has become his personal life. In the latest issue of Life & Style , William Humphries – the father of Kris Humphries and the very brief father-in-law of Kim Kardashian – says he’d “love to write a book” about the ordeal Kim and her family put his son through. “It’s important to him that Kris’ side of the story is out there,” a friend tells the tabloid . Humphries may not be entitled to any of Kim’s assets, due to a prenup, but no non-disclosure agreement was ever signed. He and/or his dad are free to dish and dish and dish and “Kris has told his father everything,” a source notes. William “has many stories to tell,” the magazine reports. Scripted, contrived nonsense alert! What did Kris say to Kim that really hit klose to home? Why did Kourt decide she needs to spice things up? THG breaks down Sunday evening’s drama, +/- style: Kim kicks off the third episode of the season pretending to contemplate family. “Maybe it’s time to get off the pill and see what happens naturally,” she says, seemingly without irony, seeing as there is nothing original about this girl. Minus 9 . Kourtney thinks it’d be Mason to have a playmate. Of course, she knows Kim will never really oblige so she went and got pregnant again herself. Proactive. Plus 17 . Kris: “We can have our own cuter version of Mason.” Unlikely. He’s a doll! Plus 6 . Momager Kris Jenner of all people makes the valid point that they shouldn’t even think about this because don’t even know where they’re going to live. Plus 8 . Speaking of which: Kris really wants to settle in Minnesota, to which Kim replies, “How am I going to have my career and live in Minnesota?” Minus 25 for Kim being so shallow … and Kris actually thinking this might happen in his lifetime. Kourtney decides to let loose and fun, which entails pretending to flirt with a random girl in an attempt to spice things up, which annoys Scott, who clearly had other things in mind when he suggested a threesome, and viewers, who have to watch made-up nonsense for half the episode when all we really want to see is Kim and Kris implode. TMZ has a photo of the incident , as well as a quote from someone on the scene, who overheard the flour-thrower yell: “This is for Kris Humphries!” Humphries and Cheban – Kim Kardashian’s BFF and the star of Spin Crowd – have never gotten along well. The latter has accused the former of referring to him as “gay,” a charge Kris denies and one he has reportedly considered legal action over. With the NBA lockout finally over – it lasted longer than his marriage to Kim Kardashian … but so do some dentist appointments – the free agent power forward spoke to Good Morning America today and said he was excited to focus on his professional life. “I’m just focused on family and preparing for basketball,” Kris said. “For me, it’s just, certain things happen in life and you’ve got to move forward. I’m excited to be where I’m at right now, with the NBA season coming up.” What about the annulment filing? The back and forth in the press? The fact that Kim may soon be back with Reggie Bush ? “The only things I really watch on TV of myself is playing basketball.
