Robert Pattinson Goes Shirtless In Exclusive ‘Bel Ami’ Clip

To kick off Summer Movie Preview Week, MTV News brings you a very intimate scene between Pattinson and Christina Ricci. By Kara Warner Christina Ricci and Robert Pattinson in “Bel Ami” Photo: Magnolia Pictures There are always a lot of movies to consider in putting together our Summer Movie Preview Week, particularly with so many star-studded superhero flicks, a “Twilight” heroine-turned-warrior princess, family-friendly fare and reliably raunchy comedies on the horizon. But in thinking about how to properly kick off the week, there is no better opener than shirtless Robert Pattinson in an exclusive clip from his upcoming steamy romance drama “Bel Ami.” The clip opens in a boudoir with the mostly naked and slightly disheveled Clotilde de Marelle (Christina Ricci) lying in bed, post-tryst, posing a question to her equally scantily clad lover, Georges Duroy (Robert Pattinson). Duroy is a self-made man of sorts, who uses his wits and powers of seduction to rise from poverty to wealth, from a prostitute’s embrace to passionate trysts with wealthy beauties in 19th-century Paris, where politics and media jostle for influence and where sex is power and celebrity an obsession. “What are you reading?” de Marelle asks Duroy. “It’s a letter from my father. Every week he puts on his best suit and goes to the priest and the priest writes a letter for him,” Duroy reveals as he gets back into bed. “And every week it’s the same thing: ‘Your mother sends her blessings. [The] pigs have diarrhea, when are you getting married?’ My father’s a peasant, he’s never left his village. And he’s asking me for money.” “I’d like to see where you grew up,” says de Marelle, who appears to be a young lady of the upper class. “I’d like to see you there,” Duroy says intimately before locking lips with de Marelle. “Promise me something,” she requests. “Don’t bring your other women here.” “I don’t have other women,” he counters. “All men have other women,” de Marelle says, which Duroy refutes and the lady reacts incredulously. “Honestly?” she says. “Honestly and truly,” he answers. Despite the sweetness and sincerity captured in this particular scene, Pattinson has teased that his character gets himself involved with a variety of female paramours. More importantly, in addition to his being shirtless in a lot of scenes, there’s also a lot of his bare bottom in the film. “I think there’s a lot of my crack in it,” he laughed when describing the film to MTV news. “I think there’s quite a bit of nudity.” “Bel Ami” opens in Los Angeles, New York and select cites on June 8. The film will be available on VOD on May 4. It’s Summer Movie Preview Week, and MTV News will be bringing you exclusive interviews, clips and photos for the most anticipated . Happy 22nd Birthday, Kristen Stewart!

With ‘On the Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2,’ it looks like 22 may be KStew’s biggest year yet. By Fallon Prinzivalli Kristen Stewart Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images That’s right, “Twilight” fans, the actress who plays one of our favorite heroines turned 22 on Monday (April 9)! The past year brought Kristen Stewart plenty to be proud of with the incredible success of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” and her upcoming year is looking to be even greater. This summer, Stewart takes on a different role from the accident-prone Bella Swan in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” where she will battle for her life as Snow White. With her shield and sword, Stewart teams up with the Huntsman ( Chris Hemsworth ) to rid their kingdom of the wicked Queen Ravenna ( Charlize Theron ). And while Theron’s and Stewart’s characters may not get along, Theron had nothing but “mad love” for the actress when wishing Stewart a happy birthday. Theron said, “Dude, happy frickin’ birthday. You’re awesome. I feel honored to know you. And just keep rocking, man. You’re amazing. Mad love.” The “Arrested Development” actress signed off by blowing Stewart a kiss. Hemsworth also had a birthday message for Stewart, saying, “Hey Kristen, happy bloody birthday! Have a great day. Lots of love.” Next up in the starlet’s grand 22nd year is “On the Road,” the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s highly praised novel. Stewart plays 16-year-old Marylou, the new wife of Dean Moriarty with an affinity for marijuana. The film will show yet another diverse side to Stewart’s acting abilities that will no doubt attract new fans who didn’t board the “Twilight” train. And for those of us who were not only aboard that train, but conducting it, in November we’ll see Stewart return as Bella Cullen in the “Twilight Saga” finale, “Breaking Dawn — Part 2.” We were already treated to a short, but very sweet, “Breaking Dawn” trailer sneak peek last month that has the fanbase already buzzing. And with all that KStew has planned this year, it sounds like that buzz is only going to get louder. What KStew movie are you most excited to see this year? Leave your comment below! Katy Perry Reveals ‘Part Of Me’ Concert Movie Release Date

‘The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent church,’ singer says in new promo for the film. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Since first announcing she’d be starring in her own 3-D concert movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me,” Katy Perry has kept fans in the loop about the film. In keeping with that routine, she’s just revealed the release date for the summer flick. “My concert documentary is coming out Fourth of July weekend. Go and see it and be a firework!” she told E! News at the Kids’ Choice Awards . The film was directed by Magical Elves Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, who also served as producers on Justin Bieber’s highly successful “Never Say Never” concert movie. “The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent church. I started singing and I never really had another plan,” she said in a TV spot that began airing over the weekend, which is also full of vintage, behind-the-scenes footage of the singer. After kicking it old-school, a montage of her music videos leads up to colorful concert footage of the singer from her California Dreams Tour. “If you have a dream, you have to go on a journey to fulfill that dream,” she says in the clip. The tease closes out with Perry dressed up as her “T.G.I.F.” alter ego, Kathy Beth Terry. “This film, you’re going to see it from my best friend/ buddy perspective, you’re going to see exactly what I mean and feel and think about everything,” Perry recently told MTV News . “Listen, I’ve [worked on] most of this film for a very long time and the word ‘cheap’ was not in the vocabulary,” she said. “But, hello, it’s 3-D. You’re going to get hit with a lot of sh–.” To add to the excitement for the movie, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were recently spotted shooting something that will appear in the film. “That tour was so life-changing to me. I learned so much, I went through so much along the way,” Perry said. “I’m not necessarily trying to prove anything to anyone, but not only will people really hands-down know me after they see this film, but you’ll see me as the Dorothy wearing the red ruby slipper, and at the end of it all I’m the [Wizard of] Oz as well.” Related Videos MTV First: Katy Perry’s ‘Part Of Me’ Related Artists Katy Perry

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ Trailer: Five Things We Want To See

Now that we’ve seen the 10-second teaser, here’s our wish list for the trailer, in ‘Twilight’ Tuesday. By Kara Warner Taylor Lautner in “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” Photo: Summit Entertainment All right, “Twilight” fans: Now that we’ve had our curiosity piqued and our hearts made all aflutter via the release of the brand-new “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” trailer sneak peek, it’s time to take a break from re-watching it 20 more times and think about what didn’t make the 10-second spot that we hope we see in the full-length trailer debuting in front of “The Hunger Games” later this week. This week’s “Twilight” Tuesday is dedicated to our “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” trailer wish list, featuring thoughtful commentary from one of our favorite experts, Kallie Mathews, webmistress of TwilightSeriesTheories.com . Arm Wrestling and Other Bella-as-a-Vampire Scenes So Bella is a vampire now. Hopefully that doesn’t surprise anyone at this point, since everyone who saw “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” got a little sneak peek of those freaky-colored eyes of hers. As such, we should see a whole new side of Bella in this movie, my favorite scene being the one between her and Emmett and their arm wrestling. “I am ‘hoping’ to see some vampire action in the full trailer,” Mathews said. “There are some great training scenes from the book I hope they include, as well as some great cottage scenes with Bella and Edward! I ‘expect’ to see lots of Bella as a vampire, and I’m OK with that!” A Lee Pace Sighting I’ve mentioned my enthusiasm for the new castmembers before, particularly my affection for Lee Pace , but it is worth repeating until more people appreciate him. Pace, whom you might recognize from his excellent work on the short-lived TV series “Pushing Daisies” or Tarsem’s “The Fall,” plays American nomadic vamp Garrett in “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” and although he isn’t one of the major players in the film, his character still has a nice arc and I’m dying to see more of him. Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee Cullen Remember when Edward and Bella had a baby? Of course you do; how can anyone forget that graphic scene? Anyway, baby Renesmee grows up really fast in the second film, and she’s being played by beautiful young actress Mackenzie Foy , who has already told us a few adorable things about working with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner . I would very much like to see her in action in the trailer. A Shirtless Pattinson or Lautner I’m sure there is a highbrow, intellectual approach to take here, but instead, I’m going to channel my inner-teenage girl and hope that we get to see some shirtlessness from Pattinson and Lautner. Trailers are all about enticing audiences to come see the movie, so why not serve up some gratuitous shots of the film’s very handsome men for the very dedicated fans? “I have a feeling we will see tight close-ups of the Cullens, a shirtless werewolf and lots of trees,” Mathews predicted. “Plus, you know there will be some great one-liners!” Appropriately Angsty Background Music In addition to the fanfare that surrounds the film’s stars and the actual movie itself, there is plenty of enthusiasm for the various “Twilight” soundtracks that have been released over the years, so much so that certain bands have been rediscovered by making the cut. I’d like to hear either a familiar favorite, like Sleeping at Last’s “Turning Page,” or a brand-new and soon-to-be hit song over which we can swoon for a few months. What would you like to see in the new trailer? Let us know in the comments below, or tweet me @karawarner! New Snow White and the Huntsman Trailer: Yep, Pretty Dark

We’d already caught a glimpse of Snow White and the Huntsman ‘s Crayola-dappled Middle Earth before director Rupert Sanders let on about his darker vision for the fairy tale. But now, with a latest trailer making the rounds, it can be confirmed: SWATH ! Pretty dark! Not a whole lot to add, really, except that despite all appearances, I’d still take Charlize Theron’s character in Young Adult over her heart-hungry Queen in an Evil-Off, 10 times out of 10. ‘Snow White’ Trailer Focuses On Charlize Theron, Kristen Stewart Rivalry

Clip show Theron’s cold-hearted Queen Ravenna on the hunt for Stewart’s sword-wielding Snow White. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart in the “Snow White and the Huntsman” trailer Photo: Universal “Snow White and the Huntsman” is certainly the antidote to “Mirror Mirror.” For every giggle that Julia Roberts throws about in the trailer for “Mirror,” Charlize Theron (Queen Ravenna) throws a cold stare and an even colder threat in a new “Show White” trailer released Monday (March 19). Bathed in dark images and darker themes, this “Snow White” blockbuster focuses on the bloodthirsty queen in her hunt for revenge and eternal power. The key to continue her tyranny and remain the fairest of them all is Snow White’s (Kristen Stewart’s) heart. Enter the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), who has been ordered to get that heart, or else. With the classical premise laid out, the trailer is full of a sword-wielding, chainmail-clad Snow White, out to use her innate good to destroy the queen’s evil. The trailer focuses on the good-versus-evil plot while teasing the film’s eye-catching effects and landscapes. Where Ravenna brings destruction, Snow brings light, love and life. Much of Stewart’s role in the trailer relies on her ability to look both tough and vulnerable. “I see what she sees,” Stewart’s Snow reveals at one point. “I can kill her.” The trailer closes with Ravenna pledging, “Let them come,” as her evil cackle plays out the trailer. When Theron and Stewart stopped by the “Today” show Monday (March 19), Theron talked about reviving fairytales for modern audiences. “I think these stories, thematically, bleed into a lot of stuff that’s relevant,” she said. “So I’m not shocked that we’re having an outbreak of a lot of these kinds of classic fairytales being retold. There’s a way to do them in different worlds, and I think that’s the case with this. They were definitely made for very specific audiences and very different audiences.” So, was Stewart shocked by turning “Snow White” into an action film? “It is [an action movie]. It had a reason,” she told the “Today” show on Monday (March 19). “It never felt like it was a movie where you were just trying to have a strong girl character be badass. You want to join the cause, like any good script you read. I believe in it so much.” What do you think of the “Snow White and the Huntsman” trailer? Leave your comment below! Kristen Stewart ‘Can’t Wait’ To See ‘Hunger Games’

‘You look at those actors and you kind of can tell why they’re doing what they’re doing,’ ‘Twilight’ star says on ‘Today.’ By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart on “Today” Photo: NBC Kristen Stewart is no stranger to being the female lead of a beloved franchise. In her role as Bella Swan, she became a household name. Now, it seems that she may be passing that baton on to Jennifer Lawrence as “The Hunger Games” opens on Friday. When Stewart stopped by the “Today” show on Monday (March 19), she opened up about what she expects might happen for Lawrence and her “Hunger Games” crew (which includes Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth), now that they are just days away from launching the next big thing in movie franchises. “It gets very crazy and everyone instantly, the question is ‘Are you going to be able to handle it? Is this something you want?’ But you look at those actors and you kind of can tell why they’re doing what they’re doing, and it’s so obvious that no one signed on to the project to do the next big thing,” she explained. “And I think that’s the coolest way to see something get big and, you know, hopefully would love them to be happy in doing what they’re doing.” Also, it seems that Stewart is a bit of a fan of them as well. She added, “I can’t wait to see the movie.” Stewart still has one movie left in the “Twilight Saga,” with “Breaking Dawn Part 2” opening in November. A trailer and a tease for that film will play ahead of “The Hunger Games” in theaters. And Stewart may be on the verge of another set of blockbusters with “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which opens June 1 and could become a multiple-film franchise itself.
