Bella, Edward, Jacob and other beloved ‘Twilight’ characters populate 20 new production stills. By Josh Wigler Jacob (Taylor Lautner) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment There’s less than a month to go before the release of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” but even three weeks of waiting seems like an eternity before the big-screen return of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Jacob (Taylor Lautner). With any luck, your appetites were somewhat satiated by the exclusive clip that debuted at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , but if you’re still craving an immediate trip to the world of “Twilight,” this new batch of official “Eclipse” production stills should do the trick. Twenty new photos were released on the official “Twilight” Facebook page this evening, offering fans with detailed glimpses at fan-favorite characters and exotic locations. The stills cover a wide gamut of scenes, including Bella’s mortal high school pals Jessica (Anna Kendrick), Eric (Justin Chon), Angela (Christian Serratos) and Mike (Michael Welch) gathered near a school bus, as well as the supernatural Cullen family banded together in the picturesque woods of Forks, Washington. Although Team Jacob supporters hoping for shirtless pictures of Taylor Lautner will be in for a disappointment, the actor’s werewolf brethren more than compensate in the skin department with four flashy photos. Also pictured is Riley (Xavier Samuel), one of Victoria’s (Bryce Dallas Howard) many vampire minions and an eventual nemesis of Edward Cullen’s. In addition to the sexy and action-packed pictures, a significant portion of the photos are devoted to quieter moments featuring Stewart as Bella. She appears alone with characters such as Edward, Jacob and even her father, Charlie (Billy Burke), not to mention a well-shot behind-the-scenes photograph alongside “Eclipse” director David Slade who is not replacing Robert Pattinson as Edward, despite an amusing quip from one sarcastic commenter. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Robert Pattinson Had Other Plans For Accepting Best Kiss Award

RPattz says he had ‘the best ideas’ for what to do with Kristen Stewart at the MTV Movie Awards. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson backstage at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News “Twilight” fans were amused but frustrated in 2009 when their favorite movie couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart , shared an appropriately angsty almost-kiss to accept their MTV Movie Award for Best Kiss. As such, the MTV favorites were no doubt hoping for something more satisfying from the are-they-or-aren’t-they couple when they accepted their second-straight Golden Popcorn for Best Kiss on Sunday night. “I had the best ideas last night,” Pattinson said, admitting that he’d been brainstorming the night before the show. “And I was telling everyone, ‘Listen, just leave it to me, I’ve got it all under control.’ … I was telling everyone all these ideas. I gave them a whole selection and no one thought they were funny, so then we ended up doing something which didn’t work.” When the big moment arrived, Stewart told the audience that their movie kisses are made possible and award-worthy only with the help of “smoke and mirrors.” They followed that proclamation not with a short and sweet smooch, but by awkwardly attempting to kiss, bumping noses and hands in weird places, getting close and pulling apart a couple of times. “We probably shouldn’t do this, right?” Kristen said, but finally Pattinson grabbed her and spun her away from the crowd for a quick kiss that was mostly obscured by his body. It would have seemed like too much of a tease if it weren’t for Pattinson’s blushing smile as he dashed off the stage. Naturally the moment left many fans scratching their heads, wondering whether the duo had planned their little skit in advance or not. RPattz didn’t think their attempt at slapstick worked, but do you, Twilighters? Talk about it in the comments. MTV Movie Awards Fashion Face-Off: Kristen Stewart vs. Vanessa Hudgens

In many ways, Kristen Stewart stole the show at last night’s MTV Movie Awards. Or, to be specific, her lips stole the show, as Kristen and Robert Pattinson made out on stage . But Stewart wasn’t the only young, beautiful actress on hand at the event. Former High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens also graced the red carpet, showing up with boyfriend Zac Efron . That hunky star isn’t pictured below, but Stewart and Hudgens are matched up against each other in our latest edition of the THG Fashion Face-Off. Who do you think looked prettier on the red carpet?

Best MTV Awards Show Kisses, From Sandra And Scarlett To Madonna, Britney And Christina

Sandra Bullock, Scarlett Johansson only the latest stars to engage in surprising onstage smooch. By Kara Warner Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock lock lips at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic In the words of famed “Casablanca” piano man Sam, “A kiss is just a kiss.” Particularly when it comes to memorable — and sometimes awkward — moments at MTV awards shows. There have been so many kisses at the network’s big events over the years that at least one big smooch can now be expected at each show. Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards proved to be no exception, as two of the evening’s most talked-about moments featured locked lips between two very pretty ladies and two not as pretty dudes. The kiss between Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson has inspired us to highlight some of the channel’s surprising yet sexy moments over the years, while Jonah Hill and Russell Brand ‘s smooch has had us recalling some surprising yet unsexy bits. At 2003’s Video Music Awards, the most talked-about moment was hands-down the three-way girl-on-girl-on-girl kiss between Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera . It wasn’t enough that the year’s two dominant teen pop princesses were performing with the MTV music legend, oh no. Midway through their “Like a Virgin” medley, Madonna leaned to her right and shared a steamy kiss with Britney. Then she leaned to her left for a smooch with Aguilera. “Twilight” fans were overjoyed when their favorite movie couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart , shared an appropriately angsty and lingering kiss to accept their Best Kiss win in 2009 . With that brief encounter the two stars put their mark in the MTV award-show history books — and added fuel to the “are-they-or-aren’t-they-a-real-life-couple” fire for their fans to obsess over and analyze for months afterward. K-Stew and R-Patz were good, undoubtedly. But “Notebook” stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams were great. Not only is the kiss that sealed their 2005 Best Kiss nomination and eventual win one of the most talked-about best kiss moments in movie history, the two stars took MTV Movie Awards acceptance “speeches” to unprecedented swoon-worthy territory. Upon hearing their names called, Gosling and McAdams walked up to the stage together, parting ways at the top of the stairs to take places at opposite ends. They paused to seemingly loosen up for something big. McAdams shed her jacket and adjusted her strapless top; Gosling did a couple of warm-up jumps and then crooked his finger across the stage at his co-star, whereupon they met in the middle for a very effective reenactment of their movie’s famous moment (and quite possibly the Best Kiss moment in MTV history to date). Not all kisses are created equal, however. Some MTV kisses would be better erased from collective memories and video vaults. Will Ferrell and Sacha Baron Cohen — very possibly in an attempt to spoof McAdams and Gosling — accepted their 2007 win for Best Kiss with gusto. When the “Talledega Nights” stars commit to something, they do so wholeheartedly, sealing their moment with a very sloppy, drawn-out smooch. The most eyebrow-raising moment was the infamous kiss between newlyweds Michael Jackson and Lisa Marie Presley . The couple had already made waves with the release of Jackson’s awkwardly intimate video for “You Are Not Alone,” in which both Presley and Jackson appear half-naked in a bedroom setting. They upped the ante completely when they opened the 1994 Video Music Awards. “Nobody thought this would last,” Jackson said, and then embraced his wife for a lengthy, surprise smooch. ‘New Moon’ Stars Talk Hottest Kisses During MTV Movie Awards

‘It’s a kiss I would want to be a part of,’ Alex Meraz says of Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson’s smooch. By Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Christopher Polk/ Getty Images It was a smooch-filled evening at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 6). First Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart reenacted their onscreen lip-locking onstage — albeit it with a jokey awkwardness. Then Sandra Bullock accepted her Generation Award and ended up swapping spit with presenter Scarlett Johansson . So the big question backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre was “Who had the hotter kiss?” The cast of “New Moon” had many answers for us, and they didn’t all agree. “I got to go Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson,” Peter Facinelli told MTV News. “They’re my people. They’re my family. But that other one was pretty hot too.” Elizabeth Reaser cast her vote in the other direction. “I’ve never seen Scarlett and Sandra Bullock make out, so I’ll go for the novelty of the hotness, which takes it up a notch,” she said. “That was hot. That was genuinely hot. I didn’t expect it. Those things are usually a little forced, a little weird. And it was sort of genuinely hot.” Jackson Rathbone concurs. “Hands down, easy — that was Scarlett and Sandra Bullock. That was some sexiness,” he said. “I liked it. You should do it more often!” Alex Meraz was on the same page as Rathbone, and he had some compelling reasoning behind his viewpoint. “I’m going to have to go with Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson,” Meraz said. “It’s a better kiss. It’s a kiss I would want to be a part of.” For those keeping track at home, that’s one vote for KStew and RPattz and three for Sandra and Scarlett. And then there’s Anna Kendrick, who couldn’t cast a vote because she was pulled out of her seat not once but twice to attend to her various Movie Awards duties. “Of course, I’m backstage for both of them,” she confessed. “I didn’t really get an angle on it. So I’ll go home and review each one very carefully and let you know.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Robert Pattinson: ‘I Should’ve Been Nominated’ For More MTV Movie Awards

‘It’s a disappointment,’ ‘Twilight’ star says of ‘New Moon’ sweep at the show. By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Twilighters love Rob Pattinson for many reasons, including his charm, his humility and his well-documented good looks. The guy is already on the cover of every magazine in your local supermarket, has T-shirts and dolls emblazoned with his face and spent Sunday once again dominating the MTV Movie Awards. So, could it all finally be going to his head? “To be honest,” the man affectionately known as RPattz began backstage, “I should’ve been nominated in a few more categories.” Ex-squeeze-us? That’s right — when he wasn’t kissing Kristen Stewart onstage , Rob’s lips were spitting out the sort of statements typically uttered by spoiled Hollywood folk. “It’s a disappointment,” Rob said of “New Moon” winning so many awards Sunday evening. “It’s an OK result. “I think it’s only three,” he added when we caught up with him. “We did better last year .” But wait! Watch the tape closely and you may recognize that sly smile, easy laugh and self-deprecating hand through the hair. He’s being playful, he’s being silly — it’s the old RPattz ! All that fame still hasn’t changed him! That’s right, folks — in this world of over-saturated, spoiled stars, it’s good to know that at least one guy in Hollywood still knows how to laugh at himself. From appearing alongside Taylor Lautner in “Bad Ass Cops” to playfully kissing KStew to making sure that he stopped to talk with us backstage, we likely won’t have to worry about him making the above statements for real anytime soon. Like Edward Cullen himself, he’s an old-fashioned gentleman and a throwback to simpler times. Robert Pattinson Reflects On ‘Twilight Saga’ Success At MTV Movie Awards

‘I just have to keep working to not explode,’ he tells MTV News of the wild ride. By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — A long time ago, in a faraway land (OK, maybe it was just Portland), the stars of the “Twilight” series were nobodies. Hopes weren’t terribly high when that girl from “The Messengers,” Mike Dexter from “Can’t Hardly Wait” and the kid who died in the “Harry Potter” movies came together to shoot Stephenie Meyer’s first novel. But as the “Saga” stars dominated another MTV awards show this weekend, Robert Pattinson couldn’t help but marvel at how far they’ve come. “It’s crazy,” the spiky-haired superstar marveled at the MTV Movie Awards , looking back on simpler times. “For it to have accelerated so quickly.” At the 2008 Movie Awards, the first “Twilight” film was barely approaching the end of production when some last-minute scrambling had Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart walking the red carpet … so unnoticed that they had to go back and start again because no one was stopping them for questions. Well, except us . “I should have done a more coherent speech for the Global thing,” RPattz said of his Global Superstar win, appreciating the massive audience all over the world that has tuned in over the past few years to hang on his every word (that is, when he’s not being cut off by the host ). “It’s just so ridiculous.” The 2009 Movie Awards were the culmination of the chaos, as KStew and RPattz’s initial wave of fame swept over Universal City. This time, the stars were accompanied by Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner and Peter Facinelli — many of whom weren’t even invited the previous year. By the end of the night, they were the new kings and queens of the show. “I still don’t have any idea what’s going on,” Rob admitted to us backstage this year. “I just have to keep working to not explode. “I’m incredibly appreciative of every little piece that’s come together,” he concluded, flashing that same charming, uneasy grin that he’s brought with him to Universal City for the past three years, “so I can be living this ridiculous life.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com . Betty White On Scarlett Johansson/ Sandra Bullock Kiss: ‘To Each His Own!’

‘Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!’ her ‘Proposal’ co-star says backstage at MTV Movie Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Betty White leaving the Gibson at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News While it was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss that had Twilighters salivating on Sunday (June 6), another MTV Movie Awards kiss ended up stealing the show. When MTV Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock hit the stage to accept her award, she and presenter Scarlett Johansson — on hand as a proxy of sorts for her hubby and Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Ryan Reynolds — decided to kiss, surprising everyone with a reenactment of Bullock’s lip-lock with Meryl Streep at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards earlier this year. So, was Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Betty White , who was also onstage to pay tribute, jealous that she wasn’t the one locking lips? “No! To each his own!” White told MTV News, when we caught up with her backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!” Betty showed off her great comic timing during her homage to the actress. “You are grace defined and I adore you madly,” the “Golden Girls” star said of working together in the 2009 romantic comedy. “Our sex scenes were cut for theatrical release,” White lamented, “but don’t worry, everyone can see them on the unrated DVD. Sandy, you are a national treasure, which I know a thing or two about since my ovaries were recently named historical monuments.” Then, despite professing to be a huge fan of Bullock’s works, the legendary comedian went on to prove she actually knew very little about the actress’ oeuvre, describing Bullock’s Oscar-winning turn in “The Blind Side” as her “daring and race-bending portrayal of Stevie Wonder.” White and Johansson were also joined onstage by Bullock’s “All About Steve” co-star Bradley Cooper. “You’re a once-in-a-generation talent,” Cooper said. “You inspire me with the ability to shine through any darkness, and congratulations on this award.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. 2010 MTV Movie Awards Dominated By ‘New Moon,’ Sandra Bullock, Les Grossman

Aziz Ansari led the wildly hilarious (and frequently emotional) awards show. By Josh Wigler Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage With five awards for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” zilch for “Avatar,” visually insane dance numbers, gut-busting parodies and so much more, the 2010 MTV Movie Awards made for a wildly hilarious, frequently emotional and shockingly vulgar night. The evening kicked off with media mogul Les Grossman , who lived up to his fiery reputation by pushing popular actors like Will Smith and Michael Cera down some surprising new career paths. One such idea was “Bad Ass Cops,” a police-themed action adventure starring “Twilight” leading men Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. But Grossman’s time in the spotlight was quickly yanked away by host Aziz Ansari , who followed up with some segments of his own, including one that put him in the tragic shoes of Claireece “Precious” Jones. The host finally took the stage thanks to an introduction made by music sensation Justin Bieber, prompting Ansari to launch into an opening comedy act that set the tone for the rest of the hilarious evening. Part of Ansari’s monologue dwelled on the pervasive popularity of “Twilight,” a notion that was decisively affirmed when Kristen Stewart kicked off the awards portion of the show by winning Best Female Performance for her portrayal of Bella Swan in the supernatural-romance franchise. Even the award for Breakthrough Performance went to Anna Kendrick, who won for “Up in the Air” but got her break in the “Twilight Saga.” Presenters and “Get Him to the Greek” co-stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand embarked on an epic Team Jacob vs. Team Edward debate that left Sean “Diddy” Combs fully confused. That wasn’t the only hilarious moment from the “Greek” stars, as Hill and Brand engaged in a full-on lip-locking assault during a special Kiss Cam segment that also claimed Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. But the most memorable kiss of the evening belonged to Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson , as they shared a quick smooch during Bullock’s acceptance of the Generation Award. Indeed, Bullock’s acceptance speech was one of the highlights of the evening, marking her first major public appearance since news broke of husband Jesse James’ infidelity. To that end, Bullock wanted to clear the air on certain rumors: She is not dead, everyone has cellulite “not just me,” and paparazzi photographers need more flattering lenses. Taking a more serious tone, Bullock emphasized that even in light of her Generation Award, something that typically goes to “old people” as they wind down their careers, as she put it, she has no plans of leaving the spotlight. “No matter what you might have heard or read lately, I love what I do, and I’m not going anywhere,” she said, adding that everyone in the audience should say a prayer for those affected by the oil spill in the Gulf. Her emotional speech was matched only by “The Hangover” actor Ken Jeong’s own acceptance of the Best WTF Moment award. Jeong broke down in tears recounting his wife’s battle with breast cancer. “She taught me that life is short and you shouldn’t be afraid to take chances,” the choked-up Jeong announced, happily revealing that his wife has been cancer-free for two years now. Beyond Bullock and Jeong’s heartfelt speeches, the show featured some very different but no less intense moments, thanks to performances of Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurls,” Christina Aguilera’s medley of songs from her upcoming album Bionic (complete with a glowing heart on her underwear) and the return of Les Grossman in a shockingly well-choreographed dance number opposite Jennifer Lopez. But the biggest laughs of the night came from Team Aziz. The host provided viewers with a terrific “Human Giant” reunion alongside Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer in a sketch titled “Stunt Kidz.” He also appeared as Taavon, a tough-as-nails swagger coach (who can only sit on purple chairs) hired to impart swagger tips to comedian Zach Galifianakis, an effort that paid off, as the “Hangover” comedian ultimately won the award for Best Comedic Performance. Ansari as Taavon accepted the award on Galifianakis’ behalf. Ansari also paved the way for one of the most foulmouthed Movie Awards in the ceremony’s history. Following Bullock’s acknowledgement of the oil spill in the Gulf region, Ansari wildly shouted “f— you, BP” numerous times as he sang an R. Kelly-style tribute to “Avatar.” But his filthy language paled in comparison to Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell’s, as the stars of “The Other Guys” dangled from the theater’s ceiling, frantically cursing at their situation. The incessant swearing of the show’s many guests didn’t go unnoticed by actor Peter Facinelli. While accepting the Best Movie award for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” Carlisle Cullen dropped some F-bombs of his own and two of them managed to slip past the censors, to the surprise of many. Less surprising, to Ansari at least, was the virtual awards sweep made by “New Moon.” The host may have over-exaggerated by declaring that ” ‘Twilight’ won everything,” but the franchise’s second installment did emerge as the evening’s greatest winner with victories in the Best Movie, Best Male Performance, Best Female Performance, Best Kiss and Global Star categories. “The Hangover” was the second most successful film with wins for Best Comedic Performance and Best WTF Moment, while “Avatar” walked away without a single award to its name.
