‘New Moon’ Men Battle For Best Male Performance At MTV Movie Awards

Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe and last year’s winner, Zac Efron, are also in the race. By Jocelyn Vena Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” Vampires, werewolves and wizards — oh my! Toss in a time-traveling Zac Efron and a letter-writing soldier, and you have the race for Best Male Performance at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , airing this Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Efron might have a leg up on the other guys, since he took home this very Golden Popcorn last year for “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” but Robert Pattinson , Taylor Lautner , Daniel Radcliffe and Channing Tatum will no doubt put up a good fight. Last year’s winner returned to high school for “17 Again,” this time as a grown man trapped in a 17-year-old’s body. Can Efron prove that he’s the big man on campus again? If supernatural beings are more your thing, then “New Moon” offers up two performances that will certainly get your blood pumping — which, if you’re around Pattinson’s Edward Cullen , could be a dangerous thing. Bella Swan’s man faces off against her best friend, Jacob Black, played by a beefed-up Lautner . This is the ultimate case of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob. Of course, Lautner, Pattinson and fellow “Twilight Saga” star Kristen Stewart will be at the Movie Awards on Sunday to present an exclusive new clip from “Eclipse” ! Radcliffe is making a compelling case for the Golden Popcorn, reprising his teen-wizard role in “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” There are no halves here: He can either win it or lose it. It may take a little magic for Tatum to take home the prize. He made girls cry and made Amanda Seyfried swoon in “Dear John,” but he’s up against some stiff competition in this category. Dear John — we mean Tatum — we’re rooting for you! Which guy are you pulling for to win the Golden Popcorn? Tell us in the comments! Don’t miss the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Kristen Stewart Weighs In On ‘Wanted 2’ Rumors

‘I have nothing nailed down,’ ‘Eclipse’ actress says of playing the Angelina Jolie role in the sequel. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage In late April, rumors began surfacing online that “Twilight Saga” star Kristen Stewart was in the running for the role originated by Angelina Jolie in “Wanted 2.” The story was that Stewart is director Timur Bekmambetov’s top choice to replace Jolie in the sequel, pitting her against the returning James McAvoy as reluctant assassin Wesley Gibson. If hired, Stewart would play “a young, ass-kicking assassin in the Fraternity.” While much has been hush-hush about the speculation since it was initially reported, the star is now speaking up about the casting talk, saying that nothing is set in stone yet. “Right now, I have two projects lined up,” Stewart told Moviehole.net . “I’m doing ‘On the Road’ this summer and then I’m doing ‘Breaking Dawn.’ So other than that I have nothing nailed down.” With it still unknown whether “Breaking Dawn” will be two movies or one, it seems that Stewart’s schedule is definitely filled up for the time being. Regarding her involvement in the upcoming film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road,” she said last month, “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super-excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in ‘On the Road.’ So that’s a big deal.” In the same interview, fellow “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner dished that he has yet to even think about filming “Stretch Armstrong.” “It’s not happening for a while though, about a year from now,” he said. “I’m doing a movie called ‘Abduction,’ which starts in about a month. Then ‘Breaking Dawn.’ And hopefully ‘Stretch’ after that.” Would you like to see Stewart in “Wanted 2”? Tell us in the comments! ‘New Moon,’ The Taylors Pucker Up For MTV Movie Awards’ Best Kiss

Five smooches battle it out for Best Kiss on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “New Moon” Photo: Summit Anything goes in the Best Kiss category at the MTV Movie Awards. Sometimes a heartfelt kiss comes out on top (see 2005 winners Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling for “The Notebook”) and sometimes a silly kiss wins (see 2002 champs Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott for “American Pie 2”). So that means at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , any of our five nominees has a chance at the Golden Popcorn. First up are Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning in “The Runaways.” Girl-on-girl kisses aren’t anything new at the Movie Awards, but something feels particularly rock-and-roll about this one. And we’re pretty sure Jane and Bella won’t be making out anytime soon, outside of some “Twilight” fan fiction. Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner in “Valentine’s Day” are the next nominees. For the onetime real-life couple, their chemistry offscreen definitely translated into an adorable onscreen connection, which means they might have a good chance at this year’s show. We’d love to see them hit the stage together and accept that award — awkward! Of course “New Moon” is represented, and fan favorites Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will have Twilighters saying, “Dakota who?” Stewart and Pattinson won Best Kiss last year for “Twilight,” and with “Eclipse” right around the bend, we imagine fans are clamoring for a repeat performance at this year’s show. Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington made interspecies love sexy in “Avatar,” earning them a Best Kiss nod. While they made their relationship work in the film, it’s only a matter of time until we know if lightning will strike twice at the big show. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are nominated for their kiss in “The Proposal.” Will it be steamy enough to beat out their competition? Will the special powers of the “baby-maker blanket” be strong enough to get these two the victory? The fans must decide! Who gets your vote for Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards? Share your thoughts below! Don’t miss the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , airing live from Los Angeles on Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner: Delightful Down Under

Kristen Stewart has been at the center of controversy in American this week. First, she compared the paparazzi to rapists and took her hatred of fame to a new, low level. Then, she debuted on the FHM list of the Sexiest Women in the World, all the way at number-six. Think this ranking was deserved? Stewart hasn’t been around to answer questions about these developments, however, because she’s spanning the globe promoting Eclipse . The actress and co-star Taylor Lautner most recently answered questions at a Q&A session in Australia. Cute pics follow… [Photos: Splash News]

Les Grossman Gives ‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson Some Unlikely Grooming Tips

Hear what the ‘Tropic Thunder’ movie exec advised RPattz to do to his ‘filthy hair’ before the 2010 MTV Movie Awards. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart onstage during the 2009 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Doing his part to add more VIP cred to the upcoming , movie exec Les Grossman — last seen shaking his moneymaker in “Tropic Thunder” — recently took out of his busy schedule to offer “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson a few grooming tips before the big show, which airs live June 6. In a new promo, the Hollywood producer and his young actor, Grossman told Pattinson (bluntly and spewing profanities) that the awards show is lucky to have him: “MTV is sportin’ mad wood that you’re doing the show.” Pattinson, looking a little startled and uncomfortable, admitted to Grossman that he’s been thinking about cleaning himself up a bit for this year’s awards show. “Maybe [I’ll] get a suit, have a shave. Maybe [I’ll] wash my hair,” RPattz responds. “I love it,” Grossman says sweetly, before raising his voice and launching into a tirade. “In fact, I love it so much I’m going to fly Vidal f—-ing Sassoon here to personally give you a Brazilian blow-out! And when he’s done, I’ll give you the number of a good plumber because you just flushed your f—-ing career down the toilet! “Your filthy hair made you a star,” Grossman reminds Pattinson. “Your filthy hair made me hundreds of millions of dollars and, he adds, pausing for dramatic effect, “sent my fat a– kid to space camp four times. He manages to calm down long enough to ask Pattinson a question: “What kind of shampoo are you going to use?” “Dirt?” Pattinson offers nervously. Grossman, satisfied with his star’s response, reaches out for a fist bump. “That’s my dirty dog. Playa,” he smiles. Watch out for more of Len Grossman’s words of wisdom this week. Actress will be on hand to accept the honor at the show, airing Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. By Eric Ditzian Sandra Bullock Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images An Oscar. A Golden Globe. Almost $700 million in worldwide box-office sales. From “The Blind Side” to “The Proposal,” Sandra Bullock has had one heck of an amazing year on the big screen — a richly deserved payoff after a more than two-decade-long career in Hollywood. That’s why at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards , we’re bestowing MTV’s highest honor, the Generation Award, to Bullock, who will be on hand during the show to accept the honor. And, of course, we just kinda love her. How can you not? She’s played sweethearts and badasses, damaged and righteous women, goofy gals and damsels in distress. She’s shared the screen with Sylvester Stallone, Keanu Reeves, Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, Ben Affleck and Ryan Reynolds. She can pop off LOL-inducing one-liners in one movie and execute a sucker-punch to your soul in another. She’s already won four MTV Movie Awards. For all these reasons and more, Bullock is this year’s MTV Generation Award honoree. Past recipients include Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey, but this is the first time a woman has ever been honored. “Sandra is one of those rare individuals who is adored by our audience as both an actress and a role model,” said Stephen Friedman, general manager of MTV. “Recognizing her remarkable talent, amazing range of films and her visceral connection to our audience around the globe, we are honored to present her with our MTV Generation Award.” It’s set to be a big evening for Bullock, as both “Blind Side” and “Proposal” are up for awards. Fan voting in all of these categories is now under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com and will stay open through Saturday, June 5. Voting for Best Movie, however, will stay open throughout the awards show itself, which means you’ll have a chance to affect the night’s biggest prize until the very last minute. Hosted by Aziz Ansari , the Movie Awards air live Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET. “The Hangover” leads the field with six nominations, followed by five each for “Avatar” and “New Moon.” Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be in the house to present an exclusive clip from “Eclipse.” Christina Aguilera is set to perform a song from new album, Bionic, while Katy Perry will take the stage for a rendition of her summer anthem “California Gurls.” Confirmed presenters include Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean “Diddy” Combs, the cast of “The Grown Ups” (Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade and Rob Schneider), Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aubrey Plaza. Kristen Stewart To Shoot ‘On The Road’ In August

Jack Kerouac adaptation starring Garrett Hedlund will be filmed in Montreal, New Orleans and Mexico. By Eric Ditzian Kristen Stewart Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage/ Getty Images Kristen Stewart’s summer will be anything but relaxing. The 20-year-old actress is about to jump into globe-trotting publicity mode as the June 30 release of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” draws near. Now, her August is fully booked as well: KStew is set to being filming “On the Road” early that month in Montreal. According to the Montreal Gazette, the film will begin shooting on August 2 in Quebec’s largest city. Producers have already set up an office at Cite du Cinema, the city’s largest film production facility. After filming there for most of August, the shoot will shift to New Orleans for a month, then head to Mexico for a few weeks and finally return to Montreal before wrapping. Adapted from the iconic 1957 Beat generation novel by Jack Kerouac, “On the Road” stars Garrett Hedlund (“Tron Legacy”) as Dean Moriarty, the disaffected drifter at the center of the story. Stewart will play Marylou, Dean’s wife. Filling out the rest of the cast are Kirsten Dunst and British actor Sam Riley (“Control”). Francis Ford Coppola is producing, and Walter Salles (“The Motorcycle Diaries”) will direct. “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever,” Stewart said earlier this month. “Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in ‘On the Road.’ So that’s a big deal.” The shoot should end well in advance of the start of “Breaking Dawn” filming this fall. The fourth film in the “Twilight” franchise will hit theaters on November 18, 2011. Do you think “On the Road” will make a good movie? Share your thoughts in the comments. ‘Twilight’ Trio Have A Long History With MTV Awards Shows

The story continues when Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner present at the 2010 Movie Awards. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart at the 2009 Movie Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Over the course of the past few MTV Movie Awards and Video Music Awards, “Twilight” superstars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart have become staples. With Thursday’s (May 20) announcement that the big three will continue the trend with an appearance at the 2010 Movie Awards, we take a look back at their MTV awards-show history. Pattinson, Stewart and “Twilight” baddie Cam Gigandet made their first MTV Movie Awards appearance in 2008. They casually made their way down the gold carpet to introduce an exclusive film clip on MTV’s pre-show. That would mark their last low-key appearance. Three months later at the 2008 VMAs, “Twilight” fever had caught on in a big way, and Stewart, Pattinson, Gigandet and Lautner were greeted with plenty of high-pitched screams from fans in the audience. The castmembers introduced “Twilight” soundtrack band Paramore for their big performance. Twilighters were furious with host Russell Brand for allegedly cutting Pattinson off before he finished his line in the introduction. In addition to cleaning up at the 2009 Movie Awards — “Twilight” took home five awards, including Best Movie — Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner took center stage yet again to introduce the first “New Moon” trailer , which Pattinson called “a thank you to the fans.” Stewart glossed over the fact that the trailer boasted not one but two shirtless stars (Pattinson and Lautner) and instead bragged that “New Moon” has “amazing special effects.” Lautner merely assured the audience they’d want to watch the trailer more than once. Last fall, at the 2009 Video Music Awards — amid the Taylor Swift/ Kanye West controversy — Pattinson and Stewart seemed to be seasoned pros. They skipped the red-carpet mayhem, leaving Lautner to work the crowds and the press. They later joined their co-star onstage and marked yet another “Twilight” MTV moment when they presented the extended trailer for “New Moon.” Tune in Sunday, June 6, at 9 p.m. ET/PT to this year’s MTV Movie Awards to see what “Twilight” moments will be added to an already storied history. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
