Adam Lambert: On the Set of "If I Had You" Video

Ready to return to the set of Adam Lambert’s “If I Had You?” Earlier this week, we gave fans a look at the artist’s upcoming music video for that single, via this series of photos from it. Now, we’ve returned with even more eccentric shots of Adam and his back-up singers/dancers. An insider describes the video as “Willy Wonka meets Thriller meets Interview With The Vampire,” which sounds like the sort of thing Lambert would come up with. Looks like it, too… Click to enlarge the photos above and check out Adam in all his decked-out glory. Below, meanwhile, we’ve posted a video of Lambert on set. He’s discussing the theme behind “If I Had You” (i.e. life is worthless without the one you love) and coming across as his typical well-spoken, calm, cool, funny self. Enjoy! Music Video Preview

Robert Pattinson And Adam Lambert Talk Fame On ‘Ellen’

‘I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet,’ RPattz says of keeping his pre-fame friends around. By ‘I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet,’ RPattz says of keeping his pre-fame friends around. MTV News staff Robert Pattinson on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday Photo: Warner Bros. Ellen DeGeneres had a double bill of People ‘s Most Beautiful stars on her show Wednesday (May 19), as she welcomed Robert Pattinson and Adam Lambert to her studio. RPattz talked “Eclipse” and was groped by an enthusiastic fan during a segment called “Pattin’ Pattinson,” while Lambert chatted about “Idol” and busted out his single “If I Had You.” First up came everyone’s favorite vampire for a ridiculously sustained round of applause from the studio audience. He was all smiles, quite the contrast to his overhyped reputation as a brooding Hollywood star. But, as Pattinson explained, his public visage has nothing to do with a gloom-and-doom attitude. “I just like doing things where you have a little time to think about what you’re saying,” he said. “I’ve always had a problem actually thinking before I open my mouth.” Give Pattinson credit for staying true to himself rather than getting swept away by his ever-growing fame. His friends help him stay grounded. “My friends are exactly the same,” he said. “I don’t think my friends have seen ‘Twilight’ yet.” One fan who definitely has seen “Twilight” — multiple times, no doubt — is the lucky “Ellen” audience member who took part in the “Pattin’ Pattinson” game, in which she was blindfolded and had to feel up three different men (one of whom was RPattz) and try to guess which one was the vampire star. “I get to touch him!” she squealed. And touch him she did. A lot. Alas, she didn’t make the right pick. Pattinson, for his part, just seemed thankful that the whole thing was over quickly. Next out came Lambert, just hours before the new season of “American Idol” is set to finalize its top-two finalists . The singer was in that exact same position last year, and as he told Ellen, any pressure he felt then was nothing compared to what he’s experienced since leaving the show. “To be honest, going into my career, this is a lot more work than that was,” he said. “Being a recording artist, touring, promos, visiting radio stations. I’m having a blast, but it’s a full-time job. On ‘Idol,’ I was singing one day a week.” Later in the show, Lambert came back out for an energetic performance of his newest single, “If I Had You,” a tune he said is about “connection and love.” “It’s talking about how fame and fortune and all the material things that come with this lifestyle don’t mean anything if you don’t have that love and that connection,” he said. “And I think it’s such an awesome message to put out into the world.” Who is your favorite of the hotties on “Ellen”: RPattz or Glambert? Adam Lambert Predicts Crystal Bowersox Will Win ‘American Idol’

‘I like her anti-establishment rebelliousness,’ the ‘American Idol’ runner-up says of MamaSox. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Matt Elias Adam Lambert Photo: MTV News Back in April, after a mentoring gig on “American Idol” had people buzzing that he should replace Simon Cowell behind the judges’ table next season, Adam Lambert revealed to MTV News which contestants he thought the most promising: Crystal Bowersox, Casey James, Lee DeWyze and Michael Lynche. [T]hose four really stand out as authentic, pure, amazing vocals,” Lambert said at the time. A month later, with Big Mike now out of the picture and Bowersox, James and DeWyze comprising this season’s top three, Lambert has come out in support of Bowersox to win the competition. “If I had to pick one out of those three, I’d probably lean more toward Crystal at this point,” he told us. “I like her anti-establishment rebelliousness.” In that choice, he’s echoing the consensus opinion that this season is Bowersox’s to lose. But, in fact, Lambert hasn’t had a chance to see what’s been going down on “Idol” in recent weeks. After a short, Icelandic volcano-induced delay in his travel plans, the season eight runner-up jetted off to Europe, where he performed in England, Holland and Finland. “I’ve been gone,” he said. “I haven’t been able to watch it.” Though he singled out MamaSox for special recognition, Lambert made sure to pay respects to all the remaining contestants, who face off again on Tuesday night (May 18), after enjoying hometown visits late last week. “All three of them are excellent singers,” he said. “They’re all really organic and kind of authentic in what they do. They’re all likeable. They were all really nice when I met them on set.” Who’s your favorite to win “Idol”? Let us know in the comments! Adam Lambert Says ‘If I Had You’ Clip ‘Gets Kind Of Psychedelic’

‘I was inspired by the parties that I’ve gone to in the past, like Burning Man,’ Lambert tells MTV News of the video. Adam Lambert Photo: MTV News Adam Lambert has already dropped some hints about the over-the-top video for his latest single, “If I Had You.” And when MTV News caught up with the singer backstage at KIIS-FM’s annual Wango Tango festival in Los Angeles, the former “American Idol” contestant admitted that all he needed to shoot the clip were some old pals. “The thing about the video [is] there is a love interest: It’s all my friends,” he explained. “It’s about the love that you have with your circle of people that you surround yourself with. “The ‘If I Had You’ video we shot in the woods at night,” he continued. “I was inspired by the parties that I’ve gone to in the past, like Burning Man and this other party called Lightning in a Bottle. There’s a big kind of subculture in California and around the country of people who are designers and performance artists, just free spirits that like to come together and play dress-up and have a good time. And it’s a very specific community, one that’s inspired me a lot.” Instead of casting people to look like they could be part of this subculture, Lambert got his real friends on-board. “I invited my friends to come party in my video, so there’s a real authentic joy,” he explained. “And it gets kind of psychedelic. There’s just gonna be a lot of special effects … Some are from [Los Angeles variety extravaganza] the Zodiac show, some are from parties [and] clubs. … Some of them I’ve done theater with. It’s a big variety of people.” And, as teased in a photo released last week, there are going to be some great costumes from the fashionisto himself. “You know me and costumes, I tried to do as many looks as I could,” he said, adding that he was a little shocked there were any paparazzi hanging around near the set. “It’s funny ’cause I wanted to keep that whole thing a secret. I think there were paparazzi camped out on the hillside.” Are you looking forward to Lambert’s new video? Tell us in the comments! Related Photos Wango Tango 2010 Related Artists Adam Lambert

Tyler Lambert died of a gunshot wound to the head on May 6. At the time, Richardson claims, he had been experimenting with drugs and alcohol, a factor she believes contributed directly to his death. First Joni Richardson endured the death of her daughter-in-law, Diff#39;rent Strokes star Dana Plato, in 1999. Now almost exactly 11 years later, Plato#39;s son, Tyler Lambert, committed suicide at the age of 25. “It#39;s a shame that such a talented human being would do this with his life,” Richar

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton Engaged

Equally perfect: The diamond-and-platinum ring “Hillbilly Bone” singer Blake Shelton, 33, chose on his own. “I was so proud of him,” says Miranda Lambert, 26. “We#39;ve been together five years, so he knew exactly what I wanted but it#39;s so much more perfect than I could have picked out myself.” He may be classified as a “hillbilly” singer, but Blake Shelton polished up his manners when it came to popping the question to Miranda Lambert. “He called my dad and got his blessing first,” Lamber

Miranda Lambert: Engaged to Blake Shelton!

Country hotties Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are engaged! He popped the question May 9 – and in classy fashion for a self-proclaimed “hillbilly” singer. “He called my dad and got his blessing first,” Lambert told People of her boyfriend of five years. “That was so Southern and old-school and just perfect.” Equally perfect: The diamond-and-platinum ring he picked out. “I was so proud of him,” says Lambert. “He knew exactly what I would’ve wanted but it’s so much more perfect than I could have picked out myself.” The setting for the proposal was distinctly down-home – in the woods near Lambert’s Tishomingo, Okla., home, followed by a similarly informal party. The engagement is yet another high point in a stellar year for Lambert, who in January scored her first No. 1 single with “White Liar” and in April won Album of the Year and Top Female Vocalist at the ACM Awards. Congratulations to Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton!
