Amber Portwood Restraining Order: Lifted!

Break out the champagne. Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is no longer subject to a No Contact Order barring her from communication with Gary Shirley. The on-off/often-sparring couple are finally allowed to talk and hang out again after an Indiana judge modified the restraining order against Portwood. But there’s a major catch. The judge is refusing to allow Gary and Amber to be around their daughter, Leah, at the same time. Probably for the best. You know what’s always a risk with Amber and Gary . SLAP HAPPY : The three of them are only allowed to be in the same room while trading custody of Leah. Probably for the best, so Leah doesn’t see more of this . Portwood still faces two felony counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent, and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery. That’s for allegedly beating Gary’s ass in front of Leah and MTV cameras last fall. Portwood filed a police report against Shirley as recently as last week. Amber is also accused of harassing his girlfriend Ashley Williamson, but there’s no sign of any strife now. The couple “hugged it out” in court today.

Gabrielle Giffords Update: In Rehab, Regaining Ability to Speak

We have an update on wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, and it’s nothing but good news: The Arizona politician, who was one of several victims of a January shooting spree , is recovering at TIRR Memorial Hermann rehabilitation hospital in Houston and has recently regained the ability to speak. “It’s very good news,” spokesman C.J. Karamargin tells CNN, adding that Giffords asked for a piece of toast this week. Why that facility? “The reason for choosing this rehab facility is because of their track record,” Karamargin said. “They are doing a fabulous job and working with her language and speech exercise and the physical therapy part of it.”

Wiz Khalifa Tweets Rolling Papers Release Date

Pittsburgh MC announces his hotly anticipated debut is set to drop on March 29. By Jayson Rodriguez Wiz Khalifa Photo: Al Pereira/ WireImage Wiz Khalifa announced his album title over Twitter on Wednesday night, a name that should earn the Pittsburgh rapper two (green) thumbs up from his Taylor Gang followers. ” Rolling Papers : March 29,” he wrote, also revealing the LP’s release date. MTVNews’ 2010 Hottest Breakthrough MC is set to drop the highly anticipated debut project on Atlantic Records. Last year, after operating independently and raising his profile through a series of mixtapes, Wiz announced on our “RapFix Live” online show that he was joining the label, which is also home to T.I., Paramore and Kid Rock. The lanky lyricist has a well-known affection for marijuana and, recently, he and fellow smoker Snoop Dogg joined forces for the forthcoming movie and soundtrack project “High School.” Still, his love of all things green has led to some trouble for the MC. Last November, Wiz was arrested and booked on drug charges after police apprehended the “Black and Yellow” star following a performance in North Carolina. Despite his hazy appeal, Wiz has defended his music’s merit beyond the stoner aesthetic. “It’s not just the weed. The music is awesome,” he told The Source magazine . “The music is great. Just from the beats that I pick, I’m a fan of my producers. They push me. The vibe is so positive, you can be who you want to be. The weed just goes with it. See, when I was in high school, I wasn’t in the streets. I had friends that were in the streets, but I just smoked with them. I had straight white kids that I just kicked it with and they smoked more than the kids in the streets. So I kicked it with everybody, but we were all on the same sh– mentally.” Are you looking forward to Wiz’s debut album? Tell us in the comments! ‘Jersey Shore’ Star Pauly D ‘Nervous’ About Heading To Italy

‘I don’t know what gyms are like over there, I don’t know what tanning’s like,’ Pauly tells MTV News. By James Montgomery Pauly D Photo: Tom Briglia/ FilmMagic On Tuesday, MTV announced that for the upcoming season of “Jersey Shore,” the cast would be hitting the road once again … only this time, they’re heading all the way to Italy. If you think you’re excited about the news, well, you should hear “Shore” star Pauly D talk about the gang’s upcoming trip. “I’ve never been to Italy, and it’s always been a dream of mine,” he told MTV News Tuesday night. “I’m excited to see my roots. I have family in Italy, but I don’t speak with them since I don’t know the language. My mother still talks to them, though. [And] I know Vinnie has family there. But none of us have ever been. It’s gonna be fun.” Of course, no voyage of self-discovery is complete without overcoming a few obstacles. So while he’s excited, Pauly is also aware that he and his “Shore” mates will probably run into the occasional, uh, cultural issues when they arrive in Italy. But he’s more than ready for the challenge. “I’m nervous, I’m not gonna lie,” he laughed. “I don’t know what gyms are like over there, I don’t know what tanning’s like, I don’t know the food, and the language — I don’t even speak Italian. Maybe I should get a Rosetta Stone or something. “And they got some nice clubs out there, and the women … they’re real Italian women, you know?” he continued. “Since I don’t speak the language, I don’t know how I’m going to talk with them. I’m hoping the smile does the trick. The less words the better. I’m looking forward to the challenge.” Despite the cultural differences and the language barrier, Pauly said that he can’t wait to start filming the new season — cameras are scheduled to start rolling this spring — mostly because it means he’ll get to hit the road with his best friends, which, to him, at least, is the best thing about being on “Jersey Shore.” “I really love being in Seaside [Heights], I love being in Jersey and I love being at home,” he said. “But I also love traveling, and with this, I get to travel with my lifelong friends and that’s another memory we’ll all have together.” Related Photos Jersey Shore | Back To Jersey | Cast Photos

Colin Farrell Talks Doing ‘Tricky’ Russian Accent For ‘Way Back’

Irish A-lister tells MTV News he tried to capture the ‘beautiful’ and ‘hard’ language for upcoming World War II prison drama. By Kara Warner Colin Farrell Photo: MTV News Colin Farrell plays an intimidating Russian prisoner in the World War II drama “The Way Back,” about a group of inmates who escape the Siberian Gulag and must walk more than 4,000 miles to freedom. We caught up with the Irish actor recently and we talked about how he tackles foreign accents and other languages for roles like his “Way Back” character, Valka. “Accents are tricky sometimes, all the time, potentially,” Farrell admitted to MTV News. “They either keep you away or they bring you in. They’re either a conduit into a character or they’re a fence that keeps you at a distance that you don’t want to be,” he said. Farrell explained that he worked with a dialect coach and read Russian poetry to get a feel for the language, which eventually began to flow rather naturally for him. “It really just initially and unconsciously started affecting the way I moved or sat or [my] facial expressions and just feeling those sounds in my mouth,” he said. “Russian to me, to my ignorant ears is an incredibly evocative language and accent, even. If a Russian is speaking English, it’s an incredibly evocative sound that’s committed each time a Russian opens their mouth.” The “Way Back” actor said he essentially fell in love with the language. “It’s beautiful and it’s hard. There’s a sense of hardship, and I say that with absolute humility and lack of judgment,” he said. “It’s a beautiful language and it gave me my version of it in the film, wherever I got to in the journey of getting there, brought me as close to the character as any other bit of research or any other contemplation of his background.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Fighting children’s cancer – Hollywood in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The Russian prime minister is used to taking to the stage, but this time it was not for one of his speeches. Vladimir Putin made his audience sit up and take note, as he sang at a charity fundraiser. The reception at an ice stadium in St. Petersburg was dedicated to fighting children’s cancer. International celebrities including Kevin Costner, Gerard Depardieu, Mickey Rourke, Sharon Stone, Kurt Russell, Vincent Cassel, Monica Belucci, Ornella Muti, Goldie Hawn and many others attended the benefit concert. Many of the stars are actively involved in charity work which draws needed attention to children’s oncological and ophthalmological diseases. When the hostess approached Putin’s table and asked him to sing for the audience, his immediate reaction was “are you kidding me?” But the hostess was determined to get the prime minister on the mic and reminded him about the songs he sang with the Russian sleeper agents extradited from the US last summer. Putin attempted to evade the proposal by saying that the singing she was referring to had come from the heart. However, after seeing the pictures of ill children shown to the audience on the big screen, he took to the stage. “Like the majority of people I cannot – but do like to sing and to play – so you’ll have to rough it,” he warned as he sat at the piano and played the beginning of Blueberry Hill. The tune was immediately caught by Maceo Parker’s jazz band. The prime minister then took the mic and sang it in English himself. Putin returned to the piano to sing in Russian “From What the Homeland Starts” – the song he sang with the exposed Russian agents. The audience loved his performance and showed their appreciation with a standing ovation and applause. Many recorded the one man show on their mobile phones. On December 1, Putin confessed to US chat show host Larry King that he does study some songs in English with his language tutor. When the concert was over Putin took Sharon Stone by the arm and together with other guests they went on stage to sing a Russian song about cosmonauts, “Grass Near Home”. Martyn Andrews, our entertainment expert and host of RT's cultural program “Moscow Out,” thinks that Putin’s gesture at the charity event is great for his reputation, as he’s mostly stereotyped as cold and serious. “It’s not the first time he sung like that,” Andrews said. “The more he does things like this, the more people can connect with their leader.” added by: MotherForTruth
