Taylor Lautner Says He’s Open To Dating His Fans

Also during ‘MTV First’ interview, ‘Twilight’ heartthrob reveals his weakness for Britney Spears songs. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News The Taylor Lautner interview goods keep on coming! Thanks to our exclusive 30-minute sit-down with Lautner during Wednesday’s (April 13) “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” we were able to chat with the “Twilight” heartthrob about a wide variety of hard-hitting subjects. Most important, we got the scoop on — and a sneak peek at the trailer of — his upcoming action thriller “Abduction,” co-starring Lily Collins. Also, thanks to a few very fun questions sent in via Twitter by the most devoted Lautner and MTV fans, we learned that the 19-year-old isn’t at all opposed to dating a fan, and that he’s a big admirer of Britney Spears. The Twitter question read: “Would you date a fan?” and Lautner’s response likely pleased a lot of people. “That is a loaded question,” he said. “I mean, nobody is excluded in my book,” he added with a smile. Next up, another tweet: “If you guest-starred on ‘Glee,’ which song would you sing?” “I’m sure none of my fans would want to hear me sing a song,” Lautner responded self-deprecatingly. “But if I had to choose, it would either be ‘Oops! … I Did It Again,’ ” he revealed. “I don’t know why I would just randomly break into that song.” MTV News’ Josh Horowitz then mentioned that Britney’s having something of a comeback, what with the release of her new Femme Fatale album and all of the buzz about her new music videos, etc., which makes that song choice totally appropriate. “Yeah, for sure,” Lautner agreed. “I love her new album. Yeah, it’s cool,” he said, adding that he is a fan. “I haven’t seen the videos, I have to see the videos, but the songs are great.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Britney Spears Tour Invite ‘Is Such An Honor,’ Nervo Say

Aussie DJ duo tell MTV News they’re ready to ‘spread the Nervo love’ on Femme Fatale tour. By Jocelyn Vena Nervo Photo: Getty Images Nervo’s Mim and Liv will be joining Britney Spears this summer for her highly anticipated Femme Fatale tour, alongside Nicki Minaj and Jessie and the Toy Boys. When the Aussie twins spoke to MTV News on Tuesday, the same day the tour lineup was announced, they seemed genuinely surprised by the news, calling the slot “such an honor.” “We have worked with her team of people for songwriting camps and stuff like that, but we’ve never met Britney. It’s been a dream to have one of our record productions on her album, but we didn’t get there this time,” Mim said. All the acts on the tour are female, so Liv thinks “it’s going to be ladies night every night. I imagine we’ll be playing some of our club releases,” she added of Nervo’s set. “It’ll be a DJ set and very electronic and house-based. We’re really excited to be able to warm everyone up with some sexy house music.” The girls are also excited about the prospect of meeting Britney. “I wonder if I’ll be starstruck? I just love her. I just love her records. She always releases great pop records. I really respect her,” Mim said. “You hear rumors that [the openers] never really get to meet [the main acts],” Liv said. “I hope we get to hang out. We’ve been told we’re going to be on an RV for a lot of it. I love the whole experience of being on a tour bus. I love the road.” Since the tour seems to be all about girl power, the two sassy ladies explained what makes them such femme fatales. “I guess we have a no-fear attitude,” Mim said. “We don’t let our being girls stop us. Certainly DJing is a very male-dominated [field], and we haven’t let us being girls stop us.” Bottom line: They’re hoping through their house-music set they can “spread the Nervo love.” Are you excited to see Nervo on Britney Spears’ tour? Taylor Lautner Fights For His Right To ‘Twilight’ In His #1 MTV Moment

Lautner will debut the ‘Abduction’ trailer and chat with MTV News tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET! By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News After finding phenomenal success as Jacob Black in the first “Twilight” movie, Taylor Lautner’s role as the lovable werewolf was in jeopardy by the time talk of “New Moon” began to ramp up in December 2008. There seemed to be a chance that the then-scrawny Lautner might not return to the flick. Before tonight’s “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” debut at 7:56 p.m. ET on air and online, we’ve been counting down Lautner’s finest MTV moments — and at #1, we see him fighting to keep his role as Jacob Black. “I have been working out. I’ve been working out since the day we finished filming ‘Twilight.’ I just weighed myself today; I’ve put on 19 pounds,” he told MTV News of how he was working to ensure he’d be Jacob from movie one right through the very last flick. The actor admitted that he was working hard and fast to make sure he could be the Jacob that author Stephanie Meyer had always envisioned. “I’m guaranteeing [director Chris] Weitz 10 more [pounds] by filming. I get to meet Chris on Friday, in two days, so I’m excited,” he said. “I’m going to have lunch with him.” Well, whatever Lautner did and worked. It’s now April 2011, and with production basically wrapped on the very last film in the franchise, it’s clear the actor and the fans couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the role. “My job for ‘Twilight’ was to bring ‘Twilight’ Jacob to life — the friendly, happy-go-lucky little Jacob,” Lautner explained back then of his arc. “And my job for ‘New Moon’ is completely different; I’ve been looking forward to that. I’ve been getting ready for it, and I can assure them that I will follow through with that job.” Don’t miss “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” tonight at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Taylor Lautner’s ‘Abduction’ Hero Vs. Jason Bourne: Who Would Win?

Lautner will debut the ‘Abduction’ trailer and chat with MTV News on Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News Only one more day until “Twilight” superstar Taylor Lautner graces MTV News with his hunky presence for “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” which premieres on air and online Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. The 19-year-old star will exclusively debut the first trailer from his upcoming action/thriller “Abduction,” after which the conversation will move to MTV.com where Lautner will sit down with MTV News’ Josh Horowitz for a 30-minute interview. If you Lautner fans weren’t already excited about this exclusive event, we’ve got a little sneak peek of what you’ll be privy to when you tune in and log on for our latest “MTV First.” During the interview, Lautner discusses the similarities and inevitable comparisons between his confused young character, Nathan Price, and Jason Bourne. “I would say Nathan Price’s journey takes place before Jason Bourne’s started,” Lautner explained. “When Jason realized, when he was searching for his true identity, he was already a trained expert.” How about Nathan vs. Jason — who would win? “I think Nathan would need a little more training,” Lautner said. “Give him a couple years, and we’ll get there.” Lautner’s co-star Lily Collins recently offered her thoughts on the Bourne comparisons, giving major props to Lautner for his work on the film. “[He is] very Jason Bourne-esque, of course, with his own twist on it,” Collins explained to MTV News of Taylor’s character in the film. “It’s a complete departure from Jacob. Obviously I’m in the movie so I’m biased, but I think it’s going to completely shock his fans, and people that necessarily don’t know him very well as Jacob that aren’t ‘Twilight’ fans. I think he brings an aspect people haven’t seen yet and [it’s] very, very exciting.” Don’t miss “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Taylor Lautner Talks ‘Twilight’ Tattoos In His #3 MTV Moment

Lautner will debut the ‘Abduction’ trailer and chat with MTV News on Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner Photo: MTV News With so much talk about his abs at the VMAs and that one special moment he shared with Tom Cruise at the MTV Movie Awards, who could forget the time Taylor Lautner waxed poetic about “Twilight” tattoos? With just a few days until “MTV First: Taylor Lautner,” which premieres Wednesday on air and online at 7:56 p.m. ET, we’re counting down Lautner’s finest MTV moments — and at #3, the action stud recounted one particularly jarring fan encounter. “Usually, they don’t have something for you to sign, so they stick out their hand or their arm for you to sign, so I’m going down the line signing arms,” he said of an autograph session last summer. One of the arms came with a big surprise: “Then I get to an arm that has a gigantic wolf pack tattoo!” After feeling the tattoo to make sure it was real, he signed the fan’s arm, hoping that his signature wouldn’t also make the final cut as a permanent tat. “Sure enough, the very next day I get a call from a buddy saying, ‘Did you sign somebody’s arm? Because it’s tattooed to her now,’ ” he recalled. “I didn’t know whether to feel bad or whether it’s cool. It’s so different.” Don’t miss “MTV First: Taylor Lautner” this Wednesday at 7:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com. Wiz Khalifa Explains Why Rolling Papers Has Few Collabos

‘I figured with my first album I could accomplish establishing my own identity,’ Wiz tells MTV News. By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Steven Roberts Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Wiz Khalifa is riding high. The Pittsburgh rapper’s debut, Rolling Papers, sold 197,000 copies in its first week of release, enough to land the album at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart. For Wiz, the success is made sweeter because although the album’s biggest hit so far is the Stargate-produced “Black and Yellow,” nearly half of the production on the record was provided by longtime Khalifa producers and collaborators I.D. Labs. “Other than making sure that my people that I came up with get filthy rich, I wanted to keep the sound consistent,” Wiz told MTV News about using his in-house team of beatmakers. “I wanted to really stick with what I know and build on that, other than getting in the position and completely switching. Take it to the next level was more what I had in mind.” Another familiar industry name made the album in spite of the fact that he, too, wasn’t in Wiz’s immediate circle. “We decided to add Too Short on ‘On My Level’ when we were deciding to do the video,” Wiz said of the first song he recorded for the album. “I wanted to do something bigger than just doing a video with me ’cause people were used to that at that time. So I was like, ‘Let’s just use our powers and holla at Too Short.’ “I’ve always been a big fan, ya know,” Wiz explained. “So when we did it, he knocked it straight out, which was a big deal for me. And then he was with getting in the video; that was really big for me too.” The only other featured rappers on Rolling Papers are Taylor Gang member Chevy Woods on “Star of the Show” and New Orleans MC Curren$y on “Rooftops.” Despite major co-signs from star MCs like Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg, Wiz made a conscious decision to keep the album’s guest list to a minimum. “I trimmed it down and I just kept it regular because I wanted to save that suspense of me working with these other artists and making these huge records,” Wiz said. “I wanted to save that. I figured with my first album I could accomplish establishing my own identity and that’s what I really wanted to do with this music and when that happens, I can do all that other stuff.” What’s your favorite Wiz collabo on Rolling Papers ?
