Word on the streetz is that Bow Wow is on the run from the law. An arrest warrant was issued because of a lawsuit since 2009.He was order to pay a tour bus company 100,00 in Tennessee for not paying his bill. The company then took the case to Georgia to try and get the court where Bow Wow lives to enforce the judgment. He was ordered to produce documents in his home state regarding the lawsuit, which he never did. As a result, the tour company filed a motion to have the rapper held in contempt.Finally back in October, the judge granted the motion and ordered Bow Wow be arrested and held until he produces the necessary documents the tour bus company asked for. Drake had the internet going nuts over the summer with his hit, “Marvin’s Room.” The track might be the source of a big headache. The Canadian rapper is being sued by a woman named Ericka Lee . She claims she is the female voice on “Marvin’s Room” and hasn’t been compensated for her contribution. According to Lee, Drake acknowledged her part through text messages. The alleged messages read “U basically made that song” and “It’s sh*t without you.” Ericka Lee filed a claim back in July. It’s always a thrill to read about some upstart, young first-time screenwriter catching a lucrative break in Hollywood with a spec script, so let’s hear it for Cormac McCarthy! The New Mexico-based writer has reportedly sold a thriller called The Counselor , about a successful, respected lawyer who gets in over his head during a dalliance in the drug underworld. Steve Schwartz, one of the producers who made the acquisition as part of a “sizable deal,” told Deadline’s Mike Fleming : “Since McCarthy himself wrote the script, we get his own muscular prose directly, with its sexual obsessions. It’s a masculine world into which, unusually, two women intrude to play leading roles. McCarthy’s wit and humor in the dialogue make the nightmare even scarier. This may be one of McCarthy’s most disturbing and powerful works.” Fleming adds that the script is “contemporary, and set in the Southwest” — also unusual for McCarthy, who is previously best known for a slightly obscure oeuvre of novels including Blood Meridian , All the Pretty Horses , The Road and No Country For Old Men (the latter of which sparked a brief but ultimately fruitless flirtation with the film industry in 2007). The conservative “watchdog” group Judicial Watch has sued the CIA and the Defense Department, alleging a failure to comply with requests to know what was discussed in consultations with Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal about the Hurt Locker duo’s follow-up charting the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Great. In a nutshell: JW sent a Freedom of Information Act request about the meetings — themselves merely alleged at this point — to determine what classified details (if any) about the bin Laden mission were shared with the Oscar winners. Both organizations failed to respond in the 20-business-day window required by FOIA, and so… yeah. Now there is a lawsuit. I can’t even deal. Here, from TheWrap : As of January 12, the DoD and the CIA “have failed to produce any records responsive to plaintiff’s requests or demonstrate that responsive records are exempt from production,” the suit says. “Nor have they indicated whether or when they will produce any responsive records.” In addition to information regarding the alleged meetings and communications, Judicial Watch is also seeking compensation for attorneys’ fees and other legal costs related to the lawsuit. The filing of the suit comes less than two weeks after Congressman Peter King, senior Republican on the Homeland Security Committee, said the Office of the Inspector General at Defense was launching an investigation over the alleged meetings. Jose Baez said in an appearance on Fox News on Sunday that Anthony did not leak two videos that surfaced online last week. “They were private webcam videos solely intended for her and certainly were not meant to be disseminated in any way,” Baez said. “I think this is outrageous that this is happening.” Lawyers representing a woman suing Anthony for defamation filed a renewed motion on Tuesday that would force Casey Anthony to give another deposition, reports CBS affiliate WKMG. Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman who shares the same name as the fictitious baby sitter Anthony claimed kidnapped her daughter in 2008, says her life was ruined after Anthony linked her to Caylee Anthony’s disappearance. Gonzalez’s attorneys reportedly said Anthony is talking publicly through her recently released video diaries and she should now have to talk under oath. “Our focus is not on who released the video. Our focus is on the video has been released and therefore she’s waived her Fifth Amendment privilege she’s been claiming throughout the process with Zenaida,” said Gonzalez’s attorney Matt Morgan, WKMG reports. The video diaries prove Anthony is no longer in hiding, Morgan says. Dummy. But more importantly, who the eff video tapes themselves if they don’t want other people to see the isht. The new poster child for frivolous lawsuits, Lady Gaga ‘s former assistant claims she was a slave to the music superstar and demands compensation as a result. Jennifer O’Neill claims she was burdened by onerous tasks such as fetching a towel for Gaga after she showered, and keeping the Lady on a tight schedule! She claims she is owed $380,000 in overtime (7,168 hours over 13 months, or $53 an hour) that she was never paid by a touring company hired by the star. O’Neill claims she had to cater to Gaga in “stadiums, private jets, fine hotel suites, yachts, ferries, trains and tour buses” and “required to be at Gaga’s beck and call.” Isn’t that what a personal assistant does? O’Neill was technically en employee of the touring company, not Gaga, so the singer is not personally liable regardless of the overtime compensation claim. A former NYU professor claims he got fired because he’s Hispanic and dared give James Franco, Hollywood celebrity, a D in a class, according to a new lawsuit. Jose Angel Santana, who taught Franco in his “Directing the Actor” class, is now suing the University for his job back, claiming he was wrongfully terminated. According to the lawsuit, Santana dropped a D on Franco for missing 12 of the 14 classes during the MFA course. Not shocking, given his academic track record: However, when peeps found out, Santana claims he suffered all sorts of public humiliation at the hands of Franco and the school itself, which canned him. Something he claims would never have happened to a white professor. According to Santana, other faculty played favorites for Franco, including fellow professor Jay Anania, who Franco hired to write and direct Shadows & Lies . Santana says , “In my opinion, they’ve turned the NYU graduate film degree into swag for James Franco’s purposes, a possession, something you can buy.” “The university has done everything in its power to curry favor.” Okay … can we just talk about the pic again? The pregnant Jessica Simpson has just signed a deal worth $3 million to be a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers, according to a report from the New York Post . Her weight has been scrutinized in recent years (see fat Jessica Simpson pictures ), but now that she’s eating for two, she’s turning a negative into a positive. She reportedly fielded several offers from a number of celebrities weight loss companies before settling with the Double-Dubs for a staggering sum of money. A source told the Post , confirming earlier reports, “The deal is in place, and after having her baby, she’ll start with Weight Watchers to lose her baby weight.” Rumors about the contract began last month, with reports saying that the company wanted to help her get back to her famous Dukes of Hazzard physique. The brand wants her to use their famous points system to emulate another celebrity spokeswoman, Jennifer Hudson, to “lose a significant amount of weight.” Simpson plans to wed her fiance Eric Johnson after having the baby, which could be another motivation for the former singer and actress to drop weight.
