WENN Nelly Rape Accuser Monique Greene Subpoenas Ms. Jackson Nelly’s girlfriend is going to have to put her evidence where her mouth is in court, thanks to Monique Greene. Monique Greene has subpoenaed Shantel Jackson as part of her lawsuit against Nelly. According to The Blast , Greene says she wants Jackson to produce “all photographs, receipts, social media posts, airline tickets, bus tickets, phone records and other documents regarding her whereabouts on June 8, 9, 10, 2016; October 5, 6, 7, 2017 and December 4, 5, 6, 2017.” She also wants to videotape Chantal’s deposition. Previously, Chantal Jackson said the women who accused Nelly of sexual assault were not telling the truth because she was with the rapper on all the dates in question. Greene accuses Chantal of corroborating his alibi to “further his defamation campaign” against the woman. This is getting interesting. We wonder what kind of receipts she will produce… Meanwhile, Ms. Jackson was just getting freaky for her boo in IG. Hit the flip to see.
Source: Donato Sardella / Getty You probably already know that Kendall and Kylie Jenner were facing a lawsuit for a line of “vintage” t-shirts that featured pictures of Tupac Shakur on them. They released the collection of shirts through their clothing line, Kendall + Kylie, and were being sued by the photographer of the Tupac pics. Now, according to a document filed in federal court on Wednesday, both parties are requesting to dismiss the suit that was brought forward by photographer Michael Miller last summer. Miller was suing the Jenner sisters for using his photos of Tupac without his permission, which was first reported by TMZ . The shirts were immediately pulled from the site following the controversy. The Jenners apologized on Twitter for their designs soon after, but the lawsuit was only dropped nearly a year later. Miguel Candela/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images Starbucks Coffee Must Now Produce Cancer Warning A judge in California has ruled that coffee retailers, including the ever-popular Starbucks , must carry a cancer warning label for their products. Why? Because of a chemical that is produced in the roasting process. Elihu Berle, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge, wrote in his decision on Wednesday that coffee companies have failed to show that a carcinogen produced in the roasting process posed no significant threat. “Defendants failed to satisfy their burden of proving by a preponderance of evidence that consumption of coffee confers a benefit to human health,” he wrote. The coffee industry obviously isn’t happy with the decision, and had claimed the acrylamide chemical that was present only exists at harmless levels. Their argument is that coffee retailers should be exempt from the law because it occurs naturally in the cooking process, which is necessary to make the beans flavurful. Starbucks and the other involved defendants now have until April 10 to appeal the ruling. The lawsuit against some 90 coffee retailers was filed in 2010 by the Council for for Education and Research on Toxics. In a statement responding to the ruling, the National Coffee Association said the industry is considering all options, including appeals and further legal action. The group’s President and CEO William Murray said, “Coffee has been shown, over and over again, to be a healthy beverage. This lawsuit has… confused consumers, and does nothing to improve public health.” Didn’t see this coming, but we’ll all have to wait and see how this one plays out.
Katt Williams Settles Lawsuit Out Of Court the actress who claimed he assaulted her has decided to settle matters outside of court for more than $10,000. The victim, Jamila Majesty, claimed that she visited Katt’s’ Malibu crib in 2016. After arriving at the residence, there were several other women in attendance. The actress says she used Williams personal bathroom, which resulted in the him getting belligerent and yelling, “no one uses my bathroom.” Allegedly, Williams and the women in his home then began to beat Majesty until she lost conciseness. During the beating which allegedly lasted for 3 hours, the victim claims that Katt burned her with a cigarette. Also she claims that during the beating one woman was “reading a book about witchcraft and casting spells while throwing questionable items into a nearby fire”. Majesty escaped the mansion and drove home without calling the police in total fear that Williams would retaliate. She filed a lawsuit for assault, battery, emotional distress and false imprisonment after a few months. Continue reading →
NYPD Tries To Cover Up Crash With DWI, Lose Lawsuit The NYPD found out the hard way that their suspect didn’t drink when cops tried to charge Oliver Wiggins with driving while intoxicated. Why did they throw that charge on a completely sober citizen? To cover up for a police officer who ran a marked SUV through a Brooklyn stop sign and plowed into Wiggins’ car. Yikes. Wiggins received nearly $1 million from the city for his troubles, but only after he was arrested and charged with impaired driving, had his driver’s license suspended and was hit with a massive repair bill for his 2004 Nissan Maxima that his insurance company would not cover since the driver was thought to have a DWI. Even after a Breathalyzer test taken at the East Flatbush scene on April 19, 2015 showed no alcohol in his blood, he was still charged. While at the hospital after the crash, Wiggins volunteered to have his blood tested for alcohol or drugs at the hospital; That test also came back negative. The arresting officer, Justin Joseph, still officially reported that Wiggins had slurred speech, watery eyes, an odor of alcohol on his breath and was observed swaying, though three months later, prosecutors dismissed the charges. Wiggins’ lawyer said Wiggins doesn’t drink, and he filed a lawsuit in Brooklyn Supreme Court against the city and five police officers. Tavis Smiley Sues PBS For Firing Him Tavis Smiley is swinging back at PBS after they canned him and cancelled his 14-year-run talk show over multiple instances of sexual misconduct. The talk show host has filed a lawsuit against the network, claiming that the allegations against him were “trumped up” in an attempt to push him out for other reasons. If you’ll recall, Smiley was suspended from the network back in December. He almost immediately he admitted to having multiple sexual relationships with some of his female subordinates, sometimes even telling them in the interview process that he’d much rather date them than hire them…but still somehow defended his actions as not at all creepy or inappropriate . Either way, he was officially fired before the beginning of the new year. However, in his lawsuit, he claims that all his in-office booty-chasing had nothing to do with the “real” reason he was canned by the network. According to TMZ , Smiley claims in a new lawsuit that there was always racial tension at PBS. He says network bigwigs routinely: “…hassled Mr. Smiley when he had African American guests who espoused controversial positions and effectively tried to stop any such guests from appearing.” Meanwhile, PBS says this whole thing is a pathetic attempt to distract the public from the revelation of Tavis’ nastiness, and it’s absolutely “ridiculous and false” to claim that their decision was based on anything else. Dorit Kemsley is not a great singer. That much was revealed when The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 8 Episode 8 got underway. PK was still talking about his big birthday bash and confirmed that Boy George thought she was a terrible singer. Surprisingly, Dorit did not seem to care about what her husband was saying and continued with her day. If you watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills online , you will likely recall Dorit throwing a party and performing with Boy George as a gift to PK. You would think PK would have been nicer about the whole thing because his wife went above and beyond to make his day special. Dorit met up with Kyle Richard and Lisa Vanderpump, and they got talking about the lawsuit against Ken Todd. Lisa was quick to point out that that the lawsuit had been dropped, and all seemed right in the world. Then, Dorit let Kyle know she was mad that she got involved in everything that happened with Teddi. Dorit later claimed Lisa Vanderpump did not love Kyle the way Kyle loved her. It was an awkward scene, and Lisa was not impressed and subsequently made her exit from the situation because she was angry at the way things went down. Lisa dished in a confessional that she was upset at the way her supposed friends took no interest in the lawsuit being dropped. They are supposed to be her friends. Dorit then told Kyle that Vanderpump had told her things about her childhood, and Kyle was not amused because she felt like Vanderpump had betrayed her. There are reasons for keeping things on the down low from close friends, and it seemed bizarre that Kyle would turn on her friend that way. Later, Dorit, Kyle, Vanderpump and Erika Jayne made their way to Teddi’s beach house to have a little break from the outside world. Lisa was quick to bring up the whole lunch date that went awry. Dorit and Kyle countered that Lisa was only mad because the attention wasn’t on her. “If Dorit was sitting there crying, would you have gotten up and left?” Kyle asked Lisa as the argument intensified. “I don’t know,” Vanderpump admitted. It’s random that these two were even arguing in the first place, but at least they put their feuding aside before the night was over. Something tells us Dorit will continue to stir the pot. She didn’t mix it nearly enough at the beach house because it’s not like we got another argument between her and Teddi. Maybe that’s being saved for an upcoming episode, but the show needs some drama. You know times are tough when even Kyle and Lisa V are getting into petty arguments. It’s like the producers are trying everything to inject some life back into the show. The cast could be doing with a refresh, and that’s not to say Teddi should go. Teddi is the most down-to-earth housewife in the history of the series and does not seem to be as excited about wealth as her fellow cast members. Nothing is happening on the show anymore that’s worth talking about. Not even Lisa Vanderpump’s witty one-liners can save it at this stage. For a woman who was just delivered a serious blow in her court battle against the Kardashians, Blac Chyna seems to be in astonishingly good spirits. She’s vowing to keep fighting after her huge setback. But she’s also congratulating Kim and Kanye on the birth of their third child , calling the baby girl a “blessing.” You didn’t miss Kim Kardashian’s new, bizarre baby’s name , right? Kimye’s youngest daughter’s name is Chicago West. ( Chicago West sounds like the name of a fashion line or perhaps like Carmen Sandiego’s apprentice, so … it’s fine) Before the news of the baby girl’s name even broke, The Blast caught up to Blac Chyna and asked what she thought of Kim’s third child being born. Chyna replied: “It’s always a blessing. They deserve blessings.” Some may find it surprising that Chyna could be so chipper about the Kardashians, considering recent developments. So, you know how Blac Chyna is suing the entire Kardashian clan ? She claims that they used their influence to sabotage her reality career when it had scarcely begun, effectively blacklisting her at E! If true, this would mean that the Kardashians cost her not only the money she would have earned through reality TV income, but cash from merchandising and endorsements and appearances. Which is why she’s suing. The Kardashians argue that they didn’t maliciously undercut her career — that she missed out on work because she refused to film scenes with Rob, and even got a restraining order against him. Blac Chyna reportedly hates that argument, and countered that she shouldn’t have lost her job over her fear of Rob . Well, RadarOnline reports that Blac Chyna’s lawsuit against the Kardashians saw a major setback. ““Chyna lost today,” their source claims. “But it is a temporary situation. Chyna is going to fight back.” That’s no surprise. Chyna’s a fighter, clearly. “She is going to go back and try again and try and convince the judge of his error.” What error, you ask? Reportedly, the judge in the case indicated that he’s going to remove both Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner from the lawsuit. This weakens Blac Chyna’s case, we imagine, in two ways. One, because Kris and Kim have deep pockets, and if they’re not the targets of her lawsuit, she can’t be awarded damages directly from them. Two, and we’re just guessing (not legal experts), but one imagines that Blac Chyna will have a harder time arguing that, say, Rob pulled some carefully crafted scheme to sabotage her reality career. Rob is … well, Rob. He’s not exactly an evil genius. But apparently Blac Chyna stands fully poised to convince the judge that Kim and Kris do belong within the scope of her lawsuit. Failing though, though, she’s said to be prepared to amend her lawsuit in such a way that she can still win. Still, though Blac Chyna’s called the Kardashians all sorts of nasty things during the course of her falling out with the family and these legal fights, it’s not a surprise that she’s speaking pleasantly about Chicago’s birth. When Chyna talks about Chicago, she’s not just talking about the child of her enemy, she’s talking about the newborn cousin of her own baby daughter.
