Race Matters: Chicago Woman Claims She Was Fired From Night Club For Not Enforcing Racial Quotas

What’s up Chi-town? This is how they play up there??? Camila Klinger, 27, was fired as general manager for a popular bar in Lincoln Park in 2010. Two weeks ago, she filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that Anthony Anton, the owner of Fuze (formerly known as Skybar) at 2242 N. Lincoln, routinely used illegal tactics to limit the number of African Americans in the club. Anton did not return several phone calls seeking comment about the lawsuit. His attorney, Michael Ficaro, also did not return my phone calls. But this is not the first time that someone has accused Anton of discriminating against African Americans. In 2007, a Caucasian male contacted me after he allegedly witnessed four black patrons being denied admittance to the Mark II lounge in Rogers Park, another bar that Anton owns. The African Americans walked away after being told the bar was closed to the public for a private party. The white patron overheard the false claim and was so outraged, he chased the group down and advised them of the scheme. The lawsuit specifically names several instances and examples of discriminatory behavior on the part of the club owner. Among other things, Klinger’s suit alleges that Anton’s discriminatory practices included: Telling her that there were too many black people in the club; ordering her to tell the DJs to stop playing African-American music so black patrons would leave, and raising the club’s cover charge and cost for party packages for black customers so they would choose to go elsewhere. “Anton made it clear to Klinger that certain racial minority groups, particularly African Americans, were not welcome in the club,’’ the suit states. After sometime it became too much for Klinger to accept and she decided she had to do something. “Something inside of me felt that this was not acceptable in any form,” Klinger told me in an interview at her lawyer’s office. “I felt like I had to speak out. A lot of people see things, they witness things and they don’t have the means and resources to bring some kind of awareness. I feel like the only way for good to come out of this is if I expose this.” …Things came to a head on a Sunday night when Klinger said she was called on the carpet after an African American and a Latino got into a fight in the bar. “This was the only time there was a fight,” she said. The suit states that after the incident, Anton told her “that she needed to start enforcing the racial quotas and that if she would not do it he would find someone who would.” Added Klinger: “When I said what he was asking me to do was morally wrong and illegal, he said I had to leave.” Source

Judge Throws Out Case Against Gangbangers Accused Of Kidnapping Shaq’s Wankster/Ex-Friend For Sextape Of Baller Creepin’ With “Multiple” Broads

We been said this isht was sounding suspect as the fizzuck! But Shaq is breathing a lil bit easier today now that the judge and prosecutor have agreed his ex-friend Robert Ross is a shady wankster. According to TMZ reports : Shaquille O’Neal indirectly won an enormous victory today … after a judge threw out a case against 7 gang members who were accused of kidnapping a man in order to retrieve a sex tape of Shaq. Robert Ross — the alleged victim — claimed he had a sex tape showing Shaq with multiple women at different times while he was still married to Shaunie O’Neal. Ross claimed 7 gang members kidnapped him at the direction of Shaq and tried to beat him into submission so he would cough up the video. Today in court — in the middle of the preliminary hearing — the D.A. shocked the courtroom, stating they no longer had confidence in Ross based on his testimony and his actions outside of court. Lawyers for the 7 defendants asked the judge to immediately dismiss the case — which is exactly what the judge did. As for why the D.A. lost confidence in Ross, for starters, during his testimony in the prelim, he admitted he had lied about having a sex tape — something Shaq had denied all along. We can’t say we’re surprised because we already knew this Ross character was doing the MOST. SMH. Wonder if there was ANY truth to any of that ish he said in his lawsuit .

Put On Blast: Mathew Knowles Blames BeyBey’s Camp For Bad Blood Between Them

Mathew Knowles doesn’t play when it comes to his career. He made that much clear earlier this week when he filed papers claiming his daughter had been purposefully led to believe that he stole from her. Now he’s ready to put the people he says are responsible on blast, even if that means revealing the intricacies of Beyoncé’s business affairs to the whole world. Since filing papers in a Texas court earlier this week alleging that members of Beyoncé’s camp, which he says include her label, Columbia Records, Live Nation and Roc Nation, have made “negative comments about me,” Mathew Knowles has continued to make public statements professing his innocence and vowing to make clear a conspiracy of various members of her camp to wrestle control of Beyoncé’s world tour rights. “We absolutely have not taken any money from Beyoncé, and all dollars will be accounted for,” Mathew Knowles told The Associated Press in an interview Thursday afternoon. “In no way have we stole money. Again, this is about the people who have made these claims — they have to come into the light.” “The relationship with Beyoncé is extremely amicable. I want to make that clear. Where there’s concern is the people that she’s doing business with,” he said. “I’m challenging all of these folks on integrity, professional integrity.” After a little digging around the internet, we found the details included in the legal documents which Knowles believes were meant to paint him in a most unflattering light.

Eff You, Pay Me! French Production Company Fined $46 Milli For Shafting Spike Lee

The French production company that failed to distribute Spike Lee’s film “Miracle at St. Anna” has been hit with a big money fine by a Paris court. Now that’s one helluva ho sit down, wouldn’t you say? TF1 Droits Audiovisuels has been ordered to pay $46 million to producers of Miracle at St. Anna for failing to honor a contract to distribute the World War II picture internationally. The dispute centered on a 2007 agreement between TF1 and the On My Own production company. According to the terms of the contract, TF1 was scheduled to release the film in markets across the world with the exception of the United States, Canada and Italy. TF1 argued that Lee had delivered a different kind of film than the one it was promised and refused to hand over a nearly $16 million advance. Now, according to the AFP, a Paris court has found that TF1 is at fault for breaching the contract, ordering the company to pay nearly $29 million in damages, and more for moral prejudice. Spike Lee gets one million euros and James McBride, the author of the novel the film was based on, gets 200,000 euros. TFP also was ordered to pay to $18 million to BNP Paribas bank. Spike Lee don’t play that isht… Now they gotta pay EVEN MORE than they would have if they would have just returned the stinkin’ advance money. SMH. Source

Bishop Eddie Long Opens Two Satellite Churches

See the original post here:

New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, the Atlanta church led by Bishop Eddie Long, will be opening up  two  satellite locations. This leads you think about one thing. Should a man that has had questionable actions continue to branch out? Is this ministry or egotism? The appointment of Darius Wise as the senior pastor of New Birth Denver, the latest satellite church location of Bishop Eddie Long’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church was announced in April. Today, a new branch was announced for Birmingham. The church is called New Birth Birmingham. Long told his congregation yesterday that the  mega-church recently received its certified audit back from 2010 and 2009. He didn’t explain why the audit was conducted. “All your money’s being done right and being calculated right,” he said. He then requested members of the congregation who could make $500 or $1,000 donations to give those seed offerings. Reverend Wise   has said, “Over the last 20 years, the church’s reach has extended throughout the globe. We are so excited and grateful to God that we see a door and an opportunity opening in Denver, Colorado,”  There is already a website and Facebook page for New Birth Denver.  The website shows that Vision meetings for the church will be held on August 20, 24, and 31, 2011, in Aurora, Colo. Discipleship groups will launch in September. The expansion of New Birth in Denver comes as Bishop Eddie Long and New Birth are reeling from a sexual misconduct scandal. Last week, a settlement in the case between Long and his four accusers was reached and the lawsuits were dismissed. In the lawsuits, four young men accused the bishop of using his position and lavish gifts to coerce them into sexual relationships. What’s Wrong With These Receipts??

Take a close look, particularly where we edited the words. Do you see it? Yes, they do in fact say “McStinkyN***er and McNigSh*t where the customer’s name should be. The receipts are at the center of Mark McHenry’s lawsuit against the Landmark Steakhouse in Corona Del Mar, California. In a federal lawsuit filed last Friday, McHenry–who is African-American–alleged Landmark employees replaced his name on credit card receipts with crude racial slurs–this, despite the fact he was a regular customer at Landmark. Pay Yo Bills! Ja Rule Faces An ADDITIONAL 3 Years In Prison, Pleads Guilty To Tax Evasion!!

“All of those rainyyy daaays, spend ya lifetime tryin’ to wash awaaaaay” Ja Rule agreed to pay over $1.1 million in tax debts and IRS penalties after the rapper pleaded guilty to tax evasion Tuesday. Ja—whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins—pleaded guilty in Newark federal court to three counts of failing to file a tax return, from 2004 through 2008, despite earning income from touring and royalties from his albums. U.S. federal judge Patty Shwartz set Ja Rule’s bail at $500,000 and permitted the Grammy nominated rapper’s release pending sentencing scheduled for June 13. Each count of tax evasion carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. Early June will be a busy time period for Atkins as he was already scheduled to begin a two-year sentence for gun possession in relation to a 2007 arrest on June 8. Between the previous weapon charges and the tax penalties, Ja Rule faces a possible five years in prison. “Each of us must pay our fair share to keep this country going,” U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman said in a statement. Ja is reportedly working on a sequel to his triple-platinum album Pain Is Love in the remaining months before his prison term begins. Man, this guy can’t win for losing.
