After pleading guilty to robbery, assault, and drug charges, Lamarcus ended up getting a 15 year sentence…and an extra six months just got added on for contempt of court after he ruffed up his lawyer. What’s done in the dark will always come to light. We knew from jump that there was plenty of shady dealings goings on around the MURDER of Pace football star Danroy Henry who was shot to death by a Mt. Pleasant police officer two years ago, but now the lid is being blown off the whole situation. Ronald Beckley, another officer on the scene recently participated in a series of depositions as part of the civil case against the city of Mt. Pleasant. During those depositions he confirmed that Aaron Hess, the officer who fired the shots was, in his opinion, the aggressor… So much so that he actually fired his own weapon and shot him! This is completely different from earlier “official Police” versions of events. The original story was that DJ Henry was leaving a parking lot and struck a Officer Aaron Hess in the knee causing him to fly on the hood of the car and he opened fire to save himself. Part of the original story was also that Officer Ronald Beckley fired into the car to save Aaron Hess. It was later announced that Aaron Hess had to have surgery on his knee due to blunt force caused by DJ’s vehicle. We spent much of the past two days reading the lengthy depositions that have been posted on the website of Michael Sussman, Esq, the lawyer representing the Henry family. You can find them HERE , but we will summarize what we found and include some screencaps: In a series of depositions conducted last week, the second officer involved in the shooting, Officer Ronald Beckley, openly admits to causing the knee injury to Aaron Hess by shooting Aaron Hess. Officer Ronald Beckley shot Aaron Hess, realizing Aaron Hess was the aggressor and that he was about to cause unnecessary harm to DJ Henry! It was revealed by Officer Ronald Beckley during his deposition that he shot at Aaron Hess out of concern for DJ because he didn’t initially recognize Officer Hess as a police officer and felt that he was the aggressor in the situation by pulling his weapon and firing into the car DJ was driving. Beckley then confirmed that he hadn’t seen the official accounts that were supposed to be based on his statements until just weeks prior to his deposition. Very troublesome since the Westchester DA presented these falsified documents to a Grand Jury and Officer Aaron Hess and Ronald Beckley admit that they were never even questioned by the DA herself. Based on Beckley’s deposition, Police Lieutenant Brian Fanelli also falsified documents of Ronald Beckley’s original statement to make it appear that he shot into the car because he was in fear of his life. Fanelli also appears to have lied to Beckley by saying his shots didn’t hit Hess and that he didn’t know how he made it out of the situation alive. Even more shady, in his deposition Beckley revealed the Police Chief REFUSED to speak to him about what he witnessed at all, and recommended he find a lawyer to represent him. The public has been fed a pack of lies for the past two years as part of a police cover up to keep Officer Hess for being punished for his aggressive actions. We’re talking about an all American, college honor student who was an athlete and was truly murdered the night of his homecoming game. It’s crazy how many people would go out of the way to protect a crooked cop. Sadly, Beckley, a 30-year veteran of the force retired immediately after the incident and those in power have done everything they could to prevent him from revealing the truth. But it is good to know there are good cops out there who are capable of doing their job, even if it did take two years for him to break down and tell the truth. The sickest part of all of this is that the city of Mount Pleasant awarded Hess Officer of the Year knowing this was all a lie. Talk about an intentional slap in the face to DJ’s family! We hope they will find some measure of justice finally now that the truth is finally coming out.
This is ironic: A state prosecutor has been charged after biting a man’s leg during a drunken fracas at an adult store, authorities said. Sarah Naughton, an assistant state’s attorney for four years, was facing charges of misdemeanor battery and criminal trespass after the attack on Saturday night. Naughton and a male companion both appeared to be intoxicated, according to police, and were asked to leave shortly after they entered Taboo Tabou in Chicago. However, 31-year-old Naughton became belligerent and bit a manager. According to authorities, her friend, Bradley Gould, shoved the worker and made ‘menacing gestures’. The store owner took the manager to a nearby hospital for treatment and he was later released. Police arrived and placed the lawyer in handcuffs. She began wailing loudly that she couldn’t feel her hands because they were ‘too tight’. She rocked backwards and forwards on the curb, crying hysterically and at one point, called the arresting female police officer: ‘A f****** b**** w****.’ Her behavior was captured on video by a passer-by. After being taken away in a police van, Naughton was charged and released on bond. Taboo Tabou owner Mark Thomas told ABC: ‘My staff asked, ”Have you folks been drinking? Maybe you should come back when you’re sober.”’ Mr Thomas then said that Miss Naughton became enraged and started to tell them what she did for a living, pulling out a badge and adding: ‘You can’t do this to me…I’m a state’s attorney.’ Cook County spokesman Andy Conklin said Naughton had been placed on administrative leave during the investigation. I slid into a booth at the Four Seasons recently to chat with Rebel Wilson , the comedienne and rising scene-stealer of this week’s Bachelorette and the upcoming toe-tapper Pitch Perfect , smitten with her work in Bridesmaids , in which she turned a brief turn as Kristen Wiig’s terrible British roommate into one of the more indelible comic Hollywood debuts in recent memory. Over the course of our conversation about everything — her dog show past, her law degree, gangsta rap , reality TV, her Bring It On obsession, WWII-era international relations, and why she considered The Grove her “happy place” when she moved from her native Australia to L.A. two years ago — I realized that Rebel Wilson is, indeed, the most interesting woman in Hollywood. She’s so naturally funny she gets laughs even when playing the straight woman, as she does in Leslye Headland ‘s R-rated Bachelorette (in limited release today) opposite the bad-girl trifecta of Kirsten Dunst, Lizzy Caplan, and Isla Fisher. In a wicked reversal of fortune it’s Wilson’s former freak/chubby bride-to-be Becky who’s eclipsed her cooler and prettier friends in life — and, even as they inadvertently threaten to ruin her wedding, Becky’s naive loyalty underscores the point: Mean girls finish last. When I came to America I thought, wouldn’t it be awesome to get into one movie? And then I get cast in Bridesmaids as my first job here and it’s such a huge movie. Even though sometimes to me it doesn’t feel fast, because I have been here two years now, I’ve done eight movies in that time so there are days and weeks where to me it doesn’t feel fast at all. But all my agents, who represent super famous people, are like, ‘Rebel, this is, like, really fast!’ [Laughs] And it has turned out like the dream — I couldn’t have even dreamt that things would go this well. I don’t know how often you look at your own Wikipedia page or Google yourself, but your bio is the stuff of legend. Is it? I guess my life is interesting. Tell me this is all true: Your parents were dog showers? Yes. Like Best in Show ? Exactly like Best In Show . Beagles. And it was so embarrassing, but what I try to do is take the tragic things in my life and make them into comedy. I used to hate the dog show — it was so boring and it was so dorky, but now I look back on it fondly. Every weekend we’d go to the dog shows and show the dogs, but now I’m like, I guess it was an interesting environment to grow up in… it was a weird, competitive environment of this group of people who loved dogs and they’d wear weird outfits and go to weird places out in the country to do these dog shows. [Laughs] But it was an interesting upbringing. More interesting than most. It wasn’t like I was a child actor who got pimped out by their mother to do commercials. You also have the coolest name ever. Did you always love it? Oh, thank you — but not always. I went to a Christian high school so I went under my middle name. I don’t think they would have accepted me in the school — ‘This is Rebel ’… so I have two middle names, Melanie Elizabeth, and I went under those. But Rebel’s way cooler. Another true fact: Your siblings were on The Amazing Race ? Yes! The first ever Australian series, which is exactly the same as the American one. And they came in last! My sister was on the show five days and vomited five times on camera. It was pretty funny because my family, we love reality shows like The Amazing Race and Survivor , and so when they had the opportunity to go on we were like, ‘Yay, you’re probably going to win!’ And we thought up all of this strategy, but they came in last. They said doing it is so different from watching it on TV. It’s so hard. They get no sleep, no food, it was a really hard experience. [Laughs] So your real life is almost stranger than fiction. Did you always want to end up here in Hollywood? As a kid I never thought I’d be an actress. Never, ever, ever, no way. I was really shy — bordering on social disorder shy — and I was really academic. Really good at math, I had weird abilities, so everyone thought I’d be a lawyer because I did really good at school. Did you want to be a lawyer? Well, I actually have a law degree. I’ve done that at the same time as acting, which was really hard — I should have quit, but then it took a lot of work to get into that law school after high school so I was like, I may as well do it on the side. So I’d often be filming or doing plays and sometimes I’d have to miss my law exams because I was in a show in Australia, but they said ok, you can come back next week and do the exam, which was cool. I’m like, ‘Um, I’m filming this movie with Nicolas Cage — I kind of can’t come to the exam…’ But I literally had to attend 80% of the classes to get my law degree, so it was really hard. Often I’d fly into law school because I’d be in another state, and have to fly in for a day of law school. It was difficult. Has that law degree come in handy in your show biz career? When I first started, I did negotiate a lot of my own contracts. People look at me and they see my funny, stupid characters and they have no idea. Sometimes when I say yeah, I could practice as a lawyer if I wanted to, people are like, “What? Who’d want you as a lawyer?” I would totally hire you as my lawyer . I’d be good. I’d crack good jokes, I’d be all friendly with the judge. I think it could work. How did Bachelorette come to you? Another girl, Casey Wilson, was actually cast as the bride but she was on a TV show so she couldn’t come to New York and film it. They had all this amazing cast in place already, Kirsten [Dunst] and Lizzy [Caplan] and Isla [Fisher] and James Marsden, and they were looking for a girl to play the bride. Obviously I think they wanted a girl who was bigger, for the “Pig Face” stuff to work, and I read the script and it wasn’t an easy fit, because normally I play the wacky character and not the straight girl. This could kind of be a challenge because Becky has to be the more grounded straight character. It’s a fun reversal, to see you playing it straight and Kirsten, Lizzy, and Isla running with the jokes. Yeah! And yet sometimes I think because of my delivery I get a few laughs in the film, but I’m not playing for laughs. It’s not like I’m in a studio comedy where I’m putting all my improvised jokes in. This was based on a play, and it gets very serious in parts. These are real quality actors in this! So I just try to play it quite genuinely. Theirs is a much different tone to your character; Becky is clearly aware a lot of the time that these girlfriends of hers are real bitches and kind of terrible. They are mean to her, sometimes! But she’s the fourth wheel in a group of four girls, so she does think they’re cooler than her and wants to hang out with them. But at the point of the movie where the movie starts, she’s got this amazing fiancé and she’s going to have a really good life, and those girls who were probably way cooler than her in high school, the tables have turned — little Becky is now on top of the heap! The mean girls get a comeuppance. Yeah — I always think in real life, eventually they do. If you are really mean and super bitchy eventually that’s going to come back to haunt you. It’s tempting to juxtapose your work in Bachelorette with your performance in Bridesmaids . Two wedding movies! I was actually in another wedding movie, called A Few Best Men , that comes out in the U.K. this month. With Xavier Samuel, of Twilight fame. Yeah, of Twilight fame! He’s very cute, and a really nice guy. And Olivia Newton-John played my mother! In that one I played the sister of the bride. But in Bridesmaids I had nothing to do with the wedding. I was really curious — I think I only had four scenes in Bridesmaids and I was wondering if that would be enough to make an impact. I remember Jonah Hill was in one scene in 40-Year-Old Virgin , and that was enough for people to go, “Oh my god, who is that guy, he’s super hilarious!” But people adored [ Bridesmaids ] because it was so great and I booked five movies straight off the back of that as soon as it came out. That was the first time I ever saw you and I remember watching your scenes thinking, is this girl for real? So clearly it was an effective turn. [Laughs] That’s what happened in Australia! My very first character I was famous for was this Greek drug-dealing gangster girl, and people thought I was that girl. People were scared that there was a girl like that out on the streets! I try to play things convincingly, so I tried to be the British girl that was really annoying and a bit psycho, and try to annoy Kristen Wiig. What was your experience working in Bachelorette with folks like Kirsten, who’s not necessarily known for comedy? I mean, Bring It On was hilarious. Oh my god, I stand corrected. Bring It On was hilarious. Have you seen the musical? I was going to go with Kiki [Kirsten Dunst] to see Bring It On: The Musical , but she was busy. I bought tickets and everything, but my sister went instead. I didn’t get to go because I said if Kiki’s not going, I’m not going. I think that is the way to see Bring It On: The Musical — sitting next to Kirsten Dunst. Yes! I called up and bought the tickets and said to the guy, “It’s actually for me and for an actress, Kirsten Dunst… who was in the original Bring It On . We are coming to see the musical.” And he’s like, “She’s not in the musical. She was in the movie.” I’m like, yeah, I know. I was trying to say this is a big deal, you’ve got the original Torrance coming into this show, but it backfired. [Laughs] Was it tempting as a Bring It On fan to quote that movie constantly to Kirsten on set? I harassed her every day. I was like, “Remember when you did this bit, and that bit…” and I asked her all the questions. I’m fascinated by that movie, I just thought it was so good. I don’t watch many movies twice because I have a really good memory so to watch movies again is really boring to me, but Bring It On I’ve seen five or six times and I just love it. One time I was walking in Los Feliz and I saw the girl who plays Missy, Eliza [Dushku], and I didn’t know what to say! I was like, oh my god, what do I do? I should have gone up to her and said, “Remember that bit where you were auditioning for the Toros and they didn’t think you were good and you did the backflips?” [Laughs] I’m the biggest dork.
Janet’s Lawyer Says She And Siblings Stand To Gain Nothing Financially, Want Only To Keep Executor’s Of Michael Jackson’s Estate From Harming His Mother And Kids Despite brother Jermaine’s recent defection , Janet Jackson and her sister Rebbie and brother Randy continue to contest the validity of their brother’s will and released a statement late Friday. A lawyer for Janet Jackson made a statement on her behalf, along with Randy and Rebbie Jackson regarding all the recent hoopla between them and their late brother Michael’s estate: Since the loss of Michael, Janet, Randy and Rebbie’s principal concern has been and continues to be for the safety and wellbeing of Michael’s children, their mother Katherine Jackson, and the entire family. Unfortunately, those people have been harmed by the actions of the executors of Michael’s estate — John Branca and John McClain, the estate’s lawyer Howard Weitzman, and those installed and paid to do their bidding. The negative media campaign generated by the executors and their agents has been relentless. In recent weeks, the media has received preposterous reports — all now proven to be false — of a purported kidnapping of Katherine Jackson and of physical and verbal abuse of a child. The executors and their agents also recently issued a notice barring Janet, Randy and Rebbie from visiting their 82 year old mother and Michael’s children. The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will. The actions of the executors and those working for them can only be understood in ligh of the questions abotu the will raised by Janet, Randy, and Rebbie. The executors have never explained how Michael could have signed his will in California on a date that irrefutable evidence establishes he was in New York. It is important to stress that Janet, Randy and Rebbie have questioned the validity fo the will with no financial motive whatesoever — they stand to gain nothing financially by a finding tha the will is invalid. That point is worth repeating — they stand to gain nothing financially by a finding that the will is invalid. Michael’s children will be the beneficiaries of Michael’s estate. What will be gained by a finding of invalidity is that the executors will be replaced and the estate and the guardianship will be managed in a manner that is in the best interests of the children, which is what Michael wanted. The individuals who have the most to lose by a finding that the will is invalid are, of course, the executors and those on the executors’ payroll. Janet, Randy and Rebbie will continue to press forward in their search for the truth in order to carry out the wishes of their brother Michael. Does what they’re saying make sense to you? Or do you think Randy’s still just trying to pay his baby mama back? Sorry, we couldn’t resist. But really tho, this isht is sad. All we want is the best for Katherine and Michael’s kids. We hope a judge can get to the bottom of these allegations so this family can heal and move on after mourning the loss of their loved one.
The Jackson family turmoil appears to be simmering down as matriarch Katherine Jackson was reinstated as a guardian of her grandchildren today. The news comes less than 24 hours after Jermaine Jackson put forth an “olive branch” and backed off his challenge to late brother Michael’s will. At a hearing Thursday, Judge Mitchell Beckloff said Katherine was doing a “wonderful job” with MJ’s kids, Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10. “It’s clear that the children are well cared for by Mrs. Jackson,” he said, according to the L.A. Times . “It is clear to me they love her very much.” The judge also said that the kids’ cousin T.J. Jackson , 34, who was named temporary guardian at an earlier emergency hearing, would remain so. The ruling came after MJ’s brother Jermaine said he had withdrawn his signature from a letter calling Michael’s will “fake, flawed and fraudulent.” Jermaine, Tito, Rebbie, Randy and Janet Jackson accused the executors of the estate of mismanagement and possibly harming Katherine Jackson. Relations haven’t thawed entirely, however. In a court declaration, Katherine seems to suggest she was tricked into traveling to Arizona last month. There, she claims she was blocked from communicating with Prince, Paris, and Blanket – implying there was a coup to strip her of guardianship. Katherine claims she was set to go on a road trip to New Mexico to watch her sons’ concert, until an unnamed doctor told her it was better to fly instead. Katherine says she obliged, believing the doctor was under the orders of her longtime physician, but when she got off the plane, found herself in Tucson. Arizona. According to her lawyer, “Her children took her to a spa … because she had high blood pressure.” She says her phone and iPad were taken away, her in-room telephone was disconnected and TV was also shut off. When Katherine asked about the grandchildren, she was told “they were fine” and there was nothing to worry about. She says she did not know she had been reported missing and her grandkids were freaking out. The declaration contradicts her earlier claims calling the Arizona trip a brief vacation, but surprisingly doesn’t sound so unbelievable in the context of everything that’s transpired in the last several weeks.

Producer Hawk Koch Elected Academy President Koch was elected president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tuesday night by the organization’s Board of Governors. Koch, who is beginning his ninth year as a governor representing the Producers Branch, has served as first vice president of the Academy during the past year. He previously served three one-year terms as treasurer and one term as vice president. Koch’s producer credits include Losing Isaiah and Gorky Park .
