What the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves said after Game Five of the Perfect Season. Happy New Year to you, too. Quotes Mavericks Coach Carlisle (On the Loss) “The Timberwolves had a lot of guys play well. What we’re going to have to do is do a better job of not allowing guys to play well. Chris Paul just needs to kick David Stern in the nards and not play this season. After killing the Chris Paul trade to the LA Lakers for “basketball reasons”, the NBA has killed a trade that would send him to the Clippers. This is just getting insane. According to reports, the Clippers’ package for the Hornets’ superstar wasn’t enough, therefore nixing the second proposed Paul trade to Los Angeles over the last few days. The Clippers’ package was supposed to feature high-scorer Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman and second-year forward Al-Farouq Aminu, with possibly an unprotected first-round draft pick from Minnesota for this coming draft going to the Hornets. But that still did not satisfy the league and the Clippers reportedly pulled out because it did not want to surrender any more assets. The deal would have been huge for the Staples Center’s No. 2 tenants, since Paul would have been able to join forces with Blake Griffin, a budding superstar and last year’s runaway winner inthe Rookie of the Year sweepstakes As you can imagine, Twitter is in another outrage based on this turn of events. Since the end of last season, the NBA has been in a PR nightmare. Do you think the league is fixed right now? Source
Looks like Mr. Kardashian Odom will be staying in LA LA Land… The NBA, as owners of the New Orleans Hornets, won’t trade All-Star guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers. NBA spokesman Mike Bass says: “It’s not true that the owners killed the deal, the deal was never discussed at the Board of Governors meeting and the league office declined to make the trade for basketball reasons.” The Lakers trade to obtain Hornets’ Paul for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom hit a snag Thursday night, sources tell ESPN.com’s Marc Stein. Sources said that a group of NBA owners, assembled in New York for the ratification of the league’s new labor pact with the players, protested vigorously that the league-owned Hornets were trading Paul to the star-studded Lakers and convinced NBA commissioner David Stern to intervene. After it fell through, Paul simply wrote, “WoW,” on his Twitter page. The Houston Rockets were the third team in the trade and would have obtained Gasol from the Hornets in return for Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, and a 2012 first-round pick that Houston received from the New York Knicks, sources said. Looks like David Stern will make the first day of practice awkward for all parties as teams gather on Friday for the first time this season. Lamar Odom took to his Twitter page to share in the confusion: If this had gone down we most definitely seen some tears shed on E! when the next season of Lamar and Khloe’s reality show starts back. Odom, the NBA’s sixth man of the year last season whose marriage to Khloe Kardashian and E! network reality show put him at the center of Hollywood’s love affair with the Lakers, sounded devastated to be leaving his adopted hometown in an interview on 710 ESPN radio earlier Thursday. Odom has spent all but one season of his NBA career with the Clippers or Lakers. Aw po’ thang… Hate it or love it?!?! Source More On Bossip! RihRih Gets Kushed Up And Goes Drizzy H.A.M. Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris is a known football enthusiast. Still, this may not be the best outlet for her, we’re thinking. The 13-year-old is being recruited to be the face of an organization that swears it’s helping break down barriers for women in the sport … which sounds awesome. The only problem is it’s the Lingerie Football League. When Paris Jackson became the first female at her private school to join the flag football team earlier this month, the LFL took notice … and had no shame. They fired off a letter to the Michael Jackson Estate in the hopes that Paris would be the spokesperson for the league’s “youth program.” Don’t hold your breath. LFL Commissioner (yes, there is such a position) Mitchell S. Mortaza laments the “lack of options for competitive female football” and looks to her for help. Mortaza says the league will “be introducing youth clinics across the country to introduce the game of football to young ladies at an earlier stage in life.” “We would like to invite Paris to become the spokesperson for the LFL’s youth program and perhaps train for a career in the LFL when she reaches age 18.” It’s true that girls miss out on football, but don’t ask us how Paris promoting a league where women prance around in lingerie is a good way to mentor kids. Britney Spears , on the other hand, would be a GREAT fit.

I guess the Lingerie Football League is successful because now there is Lingerie Basketball League spin off. And get this, their slogan is “Where Beauty Meets the Hardwood”!. Very clever. I’m already a fan. I’m pretty sure that this will put an end to the WNBA.
