Cyrus posted a handful of selfless to Twitter today, two of which included her adorable dogs. She captioned one image “perfect start to a perfect day” and added of another, in reference to a pooch: “I love him soooo f–king much I can’t stand it.” It’s unclear just how Miley celebrated her milestone, but fans dropped off balloons and flowers in front of her home in honor of the occasion. Unfortunately, the weekend got off to a very rough start for the birthday gal, as her home was burglarized Friday afternoon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe appeared in federal court yesterday, holding hands on the way inside and pleading not guilty to a pair of new fraud charges . Now, facing the possibility of decades behind bars, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has hired Wendy Feldman of Custodial Coaching. She describes herself to Us Weekly as a “legal coach and crisis manager,” which are both jobs that apparently exist. Feldman herself spent nearly a year-and-half in prison for securities fraud and has advised other famous clients (such as Lindsay Lohan) during their trials and tribulations. Considering the numerous charges against Giudice, is Feldman on board to prepare this reality star for a long jail sentence? “I have not been hired to prepare either Teresa or Joe Guidice for prison,” Feldman tells Us. “In fact, most of my work is well-known as crisis management oriented. In addition, I am known as director of alternative sentencing at Cliffside Malibu where Ms. Lohan recently was. However, I am acting as the legal coach and crisis manager only for Teresa Giudice.” Teresa Giudice Facing New Fraud Charges Teresa and Joe Giudice were indicted Monday on two new counts of fraud, bringing the total number up to 41. Said Teresa’s attorney in a statement: “As she did with respect to the allegations contained in the original indictment, Teresa intends to plead ‘not guilty’ to the allegations in the new indictment. “She looks forward to defending herself at the trial, scheduled for February 24, 2014. Beyond that, we will answer all of the charges in court, not out.”
Mark Berndt, a former L.A. elementary school teacher charged with blindfolding students and feeding them his semen, is going to prison for 25 years. Accused of spoon-feeding kids cookies laced with his own semen, he agreed to plead no contest to all charges, an attorney for some of the victims said. Berndt plans to enter the legal equivalent of guilty pleas to 23 charges. Teacher Feeds Kids Semen, Will Plead No Contest The plea agreement, first reported by the Daily News of Los Angeles, calls for Berndt to be sentenced to 25 years in state prison for the offenses. John Manly, an attorney who represents 30 Miramonte Elementary School students and their parents, said he was notified of the plea by prosecutors. Manly called the agreement a victory for his young clients and said that the families appreciate being treated “with decency and dignity” by prosecutors. “He’s going to jail essentially for the rest of his life,” he said. “You can’t ask for more than that.” He said that prosecutors urged a plea deal for the disgraced educator because “they were concerned about re-traumatizing the children at trial.” Berndt taught at a south Los Angeles school for more than 30 years. The allegations against him came to light thanks to a drug store photo technician. After dozens of photos of blindfolded third-graders surfaced, he reported them to police. Investigators found a plastic spoon in Berndt’s classroom trash bin. Tests found traces of semen on it. According to prosecutors, Berndt used the semen-coated cookies for “tasting games” with students. He was removed from the classroom in January 2011. Berndt was fired and the Los Angeles Unified School District then paid him $40,000 to drop his appeal of the firing, a move that brought heavy criticism. The district said it was done to quell a threat and get him away from kids immediately, but the payoff was nevertheless controversial for obvious reasons. Dozens of lawsuits and claims were filed on behalf of victims. According to reports. 63 cases have been settled for a total of $29.5 million, and 71 are pending. “We’re focused on the civil cases and settling them in a manner that is respectful of the health and educational needs of students and their families,” he said. The case led to a wide-ranging overhaul of how the district handles allegations of sexual abuse after previous complaints about Berndt were ignored. It also showed how slowly state officials act to censure teachers and led to a flurry of allegations of teacher-student sex abuse in this district and others. Manly denounced the district and its administrators for allowing Berndt to continue teaching after there had been complaints about him in the 1990s. “For all intents and purposes this man murdered these children emotionally,” he said, noting all of the children are in therapy as a result of his actions. Shortly after Berndt’s arrest, the district temporarily removed all 76 of the school’s teachers, along with staff and administrators, putting them on leave. Six months later, when the new school year began, 43 returned to a restructured school with a new principal. The rest either retired or went to new schools. None was accused of any wrongdoing.

According to Radar Online: CeeLo Green, the singer and star of The Voice, will escape a four-year prison sentence if he accepts a plea deal being thrashed out between his legal team and prosecutors, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The 38-year-old has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of giving ex pills to a woman who had also accused him of sexually assaulting her after a night out in Los Angeles last year. “But if CeeLo decides to plead out, he will not face any jail time and the charge will be reduced to a misdemeanor,” a source with knowledge of the negotiations told RadarOnline.com. “It would require him to attend drug education classes and narcotics anonymous meetings. It’s a deal that’s on the table. It’s likely the case will never go to trial.” Added the source, “From the outset, CeeLo has been very cooperative with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and he does not have a criminal record, which would help him in the event of any plea deal.” Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, appeared in court Oct. 21 to be arraigned on the sole charge of furnishing a controlled substance. At the hearing, prosecutors’ recommended to the judge to set his bond at $30,000 — a move that was agreed to and he was ordered to return to court on November 20. According to the district attorney, reality star Green slipped the drug to a 33-year-old woman while they were having dinner on July 13 or July 14, 2012. They later went back to her hotel, prosecutors have alleged. A Los Angeles Police Department statement, obtained by KTLA, detailed how the woman told police Green sexually assaulted her at the Luxe Hotel after the dinner. A Billings, Montana woman was charged with felony DUI after becoming so intoxicated that she had to call 911 to get out of the car, the Billings Gazette reports. Maybe a sign you shouldn’t be driving. Maybe. Carol Frances Omeara, 55, made an initial appearance in Yellowstone County Justice Court Wednesday. She remained jailed as of Thursday on $3,000 bond. Omeara was arrested Tuesday after a 911 call in which she said she couldn’t get out of her vehicle. The dispatcher asked if she was having medical or mechanical issues. Court records indicate the caller replied she was too drunk, and she wasn’t kidding. Prosecutors say Omeara’s blood-alcohol level was 0.311 percent. Point three-one-one percent! That’s 3-4 times the legal limit at which a driver is considered legally intoxicated. Sadly but not surprisingly, records say Omeara has three previous DUIs.

Dina Lohan pleaded not guilty to drunken driving and speeding charges in court today following her recent arrest. Her license has been suspended. Dina was mobbed by a media throng usually associated with her troubled actress daughter, Lindsay Lohan , as she left a Long Island courthouse. She was released without bail until her next court date October 23. Judge Joy Watson released her without bail but ordered her driver’s license suspended, citing the severity of the alleged drunken driving charge. State police arrested Dina Lohan for DUI on September 12 after stopping her for allegedly driving 77 mph in a 55 mph zone on a Long Island parkway. Police said her blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit. Defense attorney Mark Heller said his client has no criminal record and is a lifelong Long Island resident who has raised four children as a single mother. He did not specifically address the allegations against her. “Dina Lohan is painfully mindful of the gravity of her arrest,” he said. “I am confident that the [D.A.] and the judicial system will temper justice with mercy. ” The arrest about nine miles from her Merrick, N.Y., home came just months after her daughter completed her sixth stint in rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey this summer, the younger Lohan admitted an addiction to alcohol which she described as a gateway to other drugs. The actress’ father, Michael Lohan , has also battled addiction.
