New Season Of “The Book of John Gray” Premieres March 17 On OWN “The Book of John Gray” is back for a second season – and many fans have already noticed the show’s trailer features emotional reality star Tami Roman receiving guidance from the reverend and his wife, Aventer. But Pastor John Gray and his first lady told BOSSIP that the “Basketball Wives” star – a personal friend – sought help from them not as a publicity stunt, but to help her heal old wounds, grow and change and shift away from the persona that the public knows. “I think what makes Tami’s story unique is that she’s evolving,” Aventer Gray told BOSSIP earlier this week at the show’s season two premiere dinner at The London Hotel in NYC. “With Tami, she’s in a place where she’s tired of what she’s been known for. The popping off, the ‘litty in the city,’ don’t try me, I’m this I’m that. She has daughters who she wants to bring light to, that she wants to sow into. She has great wisdom, and she’s very strong, but she has these incredible triggers, like most of us do, and she’s battling with the evolving Tami versus the one that she’s known for.” Photo by Bernard Smalls The Rev. Because it comes from a deep place of pain that we were able to tap into.” Although Aventer stayed mum on what the actual source of Tami’s deep pain was, she said viewers would find out in the new season, which premieres this weekend. This week on Counting On, Kendra Caldwell headed to Kentucky to pick out her wedding dress in anticipation of her special day. She and her husband-to-be were also focused on other aspects of tying the knot, though … specifically what comes after that. Watch Counting On Season 6 Episode 3 Online As Joseph Duggar and Kendra’s wedding day quickly approached on Counting On Season 6 Episode 3 , the anticipation began to build. Sexually. We’re talking about temptation. Yes, the couple’s sexual desires were running ever so high as they geared up for their impending nuptials, but this is par for the course. In this family, patience is a virtue. Joe’s sister Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth, her husband, interestingly talked about getting through the challenges of waiting. It was this couple that allegedly engaged in massive amounts of courtship rule-breaking and didn’t delay physical intimacy until marriage. Of course, a lot of that speculation was just that – speculation. Talk of Joy-Anna having premarital sex made for great gossip, but that’s it. The birth of Joy and Austin’s son Gideon did nothing to disprove her consistent claim that the couple got pregnant on their honeymoon. In any case, Joe confessed to Austin that as he gets closer and closer to his wedding day, it’s impossible not to think about Kendra. He means in a sexual manner. “I spend the evenings with Kendra and then during the day I’m just working. It keeps me busy and not thinking about it,” Joe admitted. The 23-year-old Joseph later added that “Joy and Austin have been a great example for us as far as relationships.” “They say when you get closer to the wedding it’s always so much harder,” he said, and in his estimation, “it’s true.” For her part, Kendra chimed in: “You just start loving each other more and more and you just get excited about the wedding but I think having chaperones allows us not to fall.” Joe spoke about the “physical boundaries” he and Kendra set, and they are strict … think side hugs and not a whole lot else. “We’re not kissing before we get married, we’re just saving ourselves for each other,” he explained, and that’s not out of the ordinary. The Duggars’ upbringing basically forbids all types of contact pre-engagement and marriage, even unsupervised alone time. Of course, without a lot of practice beforehand, there’s going to be a learning curve of sorts after they do finally get married. Not that he’s not up for the challenge. Challenges and lessons don’t get much more entertaining than this one, and besides, his siblings seem to have figured it out. Still, a Counting On producer continued to press them on the subject, probing for cringe-worthy details and asking awkwardly: “What have you guys done to prepare yourselves for the physical side of marriage, as far as education on such things?” Joe’s response? “At this point, we figure that we don’t have to educate ourselves completely … if we had questions we can ask people who we trust.” View Slideshow: Joseph Duggar & Kendra Caldwell Wedding: First Kiss (and More) Revealed! “I know there’s a lot of books out there, a lot of things you can read,” he said, though it’s unclear what things he meant. The Blind Auditions continued last night on The Voice, and that meant there was another batch of sub-par performers given the opportunity to advance to the next stage of the competition. Granted, most of the dull performances hailed from Team Adam. Also odd: ABC aired American Idol opposite The Voice. Do we really need these two shows fighting it out for more viewers than the other? Let’s break down the performances! Stephanie Skipper – “Piece by Piece” Stephanie plucked up the courage to perform a Kelly Clarkson number in front of Kelly herself, and it was a robust performance that was different enough from the original to set herself apart. Kelly did not seem impressed and didn’t turn her chair around. Luckily, Adam snapped the Nashville native up for his team. Tish Haynes Keys – “Chain of Fools” Tish opened up about falling pregnant at just 14 years old, and she claimed that it changed her life. Her performance was solid, but not spectacular. “You just killed Aretha Franklin!” said a shocked Kelly. Alas, she joined Team Adam. Bransen Ireland – “Tulsa Time” The first big miss of the night came in the form of Bransen. His vocals were most certainly not up there as the best, but he seemed like a natural fit for Team Blake. The troubling thing about it was that Blake failed to turn around initially, and it took him some time to get on board with all of it. Teana Boston – “Unfaithful” Teana could have fooled us if she hit the stage and said she was a guest performer. She was polished and had a significant stage presence. She should make it far into the competition, but this show has been known to cut acts in their prime. Maybe Team Kelly will serve her well. Miya Bass – “Issues” While Miya Bass may have charisma for days, her song choice was way off for her audition. There was nothing about it that made her seem like a marketable artist. Adam’s team is beginning to look like the go-to place for the contestants who are just not great at performing. Jordan Kirkdorffer – “In Case You Didn’t Know” This was another one of those middle of the road performances. We’re sure there must have been better contestants than Jordan to put through. We’re sure if he performed a pop song, he would not have joined Team Kelly … or any of the other coaches for that matter. Shana Halligan – “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)” After a string of downright dreadful performances, Shana appeared and reignited my interest in the show. Her vocals tugged at the heart because they were so beautiful. Team Alicia is the perfect place for her. Gary Edwards – “What’s Going On” Gary was ready to graduate from the church stage to the bigger stages that would propel him to stardom. His voice matched up, and he proved he has what it takes to become a professional singer. At least Adam finally got someone on his team who could make it far. Hannah Goebel – “If I Ain’t Got You” In true The Voice fashion, the show left the best for last. Hannah scaled a lot of vocal heights throughout. The songstress recently spoke on the mental health issue that she said was sparked by “personal and professional mistakes” (that Beyoncé diss?) and a breakup of an 11-year relationship. “When ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ was at the top of the charts, I was bearing the weight of some personal and professional mistakes and they just weighed so so so heavy on my spirit, and I was just not myself,” said Keri at the Silence The Shame Panel according to XoNecole. Although I was at the mountain of my life, really the trajectory of my dream – I was at the pinnacle, you know? I was severely unhappy and then add to that, this is when I decide to jump out of an eleven-year relationship. Bad decision, bad timing,” Keri added. “But it all just kind of spiraled for me, and became something I had never been through. I had never recognized myself as a person who can’t pick themselves back up. I mean, I was literally on stage crying.” Prince Williams/ATLPics.net Keri also added that stories and headlines in the media greatly affected her because of “attacks on her character.” “You don’t know where a person is, it’s not just about what you are feeding your audience, but what you are doing to the creators. There are a lot of undeserving people that are being attacked by just a headline,” Keri shared. “You don’t understand some of the worst days of my life were from a lie. An attack on my character. And I am an amazing person. It’s been a rough few months for Derick Dillard. The troubles started when Derick got fired by TLC after launching an unprovoked social media attack on fellow network star Jazz Jennings. In the months since, things have only gotten worse for poor Der. It’s almost like costing his family their only source of income in order to settle some petty social media score wasn’t the smartest move. This week has been a particularly hard one on Derick, as he was torn to shreds for complaining that TLC refused to pay his son’s medical bills . (As many followers pointed out, employers give you money in exchange for labor, so that you can pay for unexpected expenses yourself .) But it’s Friday, and it’s Derick’s 29th birthday, so right about now he probably just wants to kick back with a spicy Virgin Mary and forget about the online world for a bit. Unfortunately for Big D, the internet doesn’t take days off. Earlier today, Derick’s wife, Jill Duggar, posted the above photo along with a heartfelt birthday message: “Happy birthday My Love! You’re the best hubby and father! I’m so in love with you! I hope this last birthday in your 20s is a good one,” Jill captioned the pic. Unfortunately, the last year of Der’s twenties isn’t off to the greatest start, as Jill’s followers took the opportunity to roast the controversial house husband within an inch of his life: “Derick, happy birthday. As you blow out your candles, you should wish forgiveness from God for the things that come out of you mouth,” wrote one follower. “May Derick learn the true meaning of being a Christian for his 29th year,” another commented. “Wow! 29 and still doesn’t have a real paying job! How very sad,” another roast-master remarked. “I don’t think this year will be a good birthday. After all, he posted on Twitter yesterday he seems really emotional and upset. I have a feeling Derick will be on Twitter again all day complaining how life isn’t fair.” Needless to say, there’s not a lot of birthday love out there for Der today. If you know anything about Farrah Abraham, then you know that she’s very possibly the hottest mess to ever live. Like, among ladies that have been arrested for domestic violence, neglected their children, and done heroin on national television, Farrah is widely considered to be the worst cast member in Teen Mom history. Not only is she considered to be the worst cast member, but she’s also the first person to ever be fired from the show . The only other person who’s been cut loose from the Teen Mom money train has been David Eason, after his horrific homophobic rant . That really says something, you know, that Farrah’s right there with David as the only people to be fired from Teen Mom. And what it says is not good. While Farrah is just about as messy as they come, she’s actually had a somewhat normal dating history. She’s the only person on Teen Mom that hasn’t gone on to have a second baby, which is commendable, and honestly, she really hasn’t dated around all that much, either. There were a few boyfriends in early seasons, and Simon Saran managed to stick around for a couple of years. After breaking up with Simon for good last year, she remained single for a while, though we did find out recently that she’d made herself a profile on Bumble . Oh, and she did date that guy, Aden Stay, for about three seconds earlier this month. A few days ago, she made a statement about that breakup , explaining that she needs “to watch whom I date as many men target me for my success.” “I’m focused on work right now, between TV and film projects.” “I wish him well,” she added, “but I’m not rushing into relationships. I like to take my time to do it right for myself and for my daughter.” “Being the best parent I can be is my priority.” So it sounds like she thinks Aden used her for her fame and debatable fortune, right? If that’s a problem for her while looking for love, there’s an easy solution: date men who already have fame and fortune. Enter Zac Efron! Farrah’s mother, Debra Danielsen, did an interview with In Touch this week, and she had a whole lot of thoughts about what her daughter’s next move should be. “I kind of sit down and put together a list of who I thought would be cool people for Farrah to try to date or connect with, even as just friends,” she explained. “I like Zac Efron, I think he’s more Farrah’s vibe, and Jef Holm. She needs somebody young and fun who has a career and potential — someone who can relate to her better.” It kind of would make sense for Farrah to go after another reality star, so someone like The Bachelorette’s Jef Holm might not be too crazy, but Zac Efron?! It only gets wilder though, because Deb also thinks that Kenny Chesney and Jake Gyllenhaal could be good matches for Farrah. “These four guys are all kind of guys that I think with their personalities, interests in life, and careers, have commonalities there with Farrah’s background and where she’s going, what she’s doing,” she said. “These are guys that can be a blessing in her life instead of a ball and chain in her life.” Well, at least now we know we’re Farrah gets her delusional side from!
