Adam Lind: Released From Jail as Chelsea Houska Moves to Change Daughter’s Name

It’s been a rough year for Adam Lind, and sadly, the Teen Mom 2 star’s destructive behavior has taken a severe toll on his loved ones. His downward spiral began back in June when Lind tested positive for methamphetamines  just prior to a scheduled visit with his youngest daughter. Sadly, the incident did not serve as a wake-up call for Lind, and his life appears to have been on a steady decline ever since. Last month, Lind was arrested on domestic assault charges after allegedly attacking an ex-girlfriend. Earlier this week, Lind was arrested again for violating an order of protection against a different ex. While he was behind bars, another restraining order against Lind was granted to former girlfriend Stasia Huber. Earlier today, Lind was released from prison, but as you might’ve guessed, his legal issues are far from over. “His bail was dropped because he agreed to show up at court for his next hearing,” a court officer told Radar Online. Yes, if there’s an upside to having constant court dates, it’s that you can appease the legal system simply by promising to come back when you’re supposed to. That’s the good news for Lind. The bad news is that his first baby mama, Chelsea Houska, is reportedly taking steps to change her daughter’s name from Lind to Lind-DeBoer. Now, it’s possible the move has nothing to do with Lind’s latest legal issues. But we doubt it. And hey, we suppose it’s also possible that Lind will take the move in stride and handle the blow to his ego in a mature, level-headed fashion. But that also seems like a major long-shot. And unfortunately, that’s probably just the beginning of Adam’s troubles with Chelsea. The parents of 8-year-old Aubree are due back in court for a custody hearing on January 8. At that time, it’s expected that Chelsea will request further restrictions on Lind’s visitation rights. She’s already arranged it so that his visits with Aubree are supervised and he’s no longer permitted to drive with his daughter in the car. It’s almost like smoking meth and assaulting women will make people question your parenting abilities. Go figure. Artie Lange: Comic Reportedly Near Death Following Years of Addiction

If you’re a fan of Artie Lange, then you probably know the beloved comedian, radio personality, and podcast host isn’t exactly Joe Rogan when it comes to clean living. Lange has struggled with addiction and other health issues for most of his adult life, and he’s been refreshingly candid about the toll that a decades-long cycle of rehab and relapses has taken on his body. Now, following a string of canceled gigs and some troubling tweets, fans are worried that Lange’s years of recklessness may soon cost him his life. The 50-year-old canceled a scheduled appearance on his webseries The Artie & Anthony Show this week, and his explanation has sparked serious concern: “The AA show is the best job! I really have the flu. I got a flu shot! I got the flu. Antibiotics are working &I plan on being in tomm. Anthony & I are good on air,” Lange tweeted “Please stick w us. I will make this work! U fans must feel I’m like a loser cousin u tolerate. Thx for that.” Several followers pointed out that antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infections, not viruses like the flu. Still, Lange simply may have been mistaken about what sort of treatment he was receiving. The comic initially seemed optimistic about his condition, but later tweets led fans to the conclusion that his illness is more serious than he let on at first: “Doctor seemed worried. Took blood. I promise if I die it will be on the AA show. Howard used to beg me to agree to this! I refused. This is special. I’m willing to put it in a contract. If u think I’m joking u did not see the look on my Drs face,” Lange tweeted yesterday. He elaborated in a way that did little to assuage his fans’ greatest fears: “Also with regards to my appearance. Fans. Followers. (whatever the f-ck ppl call themselves today) I’ve crossed some sort of disgusting line. I will most likely never look good again. The best I can do is try not to make anyone vomit! My body has been ravished by awful living. Thx.” Lange later re-tweeted a follower who suggested that he may have meant that his appearance had been “ravaged.” In an interview with Radar Online, Artie’s mother, Judy Lange, confirmed that his situation is dire: “Artie has to take care of a few things. He’s got diabetes, so that doesn’t help. He’s okay, as much as he can be. But he is fighting addiction — trying to get through that, and hopefully he will,” Judy told the outlet . “He told me he went to the doctors, but I haven’ t received a report yet from him as to what’s going on. So I don’t know,” she added. Lange first checked into rehab back in 1997, when he was a cast member on the sketch comedy series Mad TV. In the decades that followed, he sobered up several times, but slipped back into addiction just as often. It was not the first time he had attempted to take his own life. Lange survived the incident after being found unconscious by his mother, and he returned to his job on The Howard Stern Show  after being released from the hospital. Thank you for your selfless heart, and your conviction. Thank you for your personal sacrifice. Colin took action with no fear of consequence or repercussion only hope to change the world for the better. To change perception, to change the way we treat each other, especially people of color.” 5. Something Important in Common Beyonce, of course, has noted police violence in both her singles and the visuals that often accompany them. The video for her 2016 song “Formation,” for example, included a police cruiser sinking in a New Orleans flood. 6. Amanda Bynes: Struggling Amidst Mental Illness Relapse, Source Claims

For Amanda Bynes, the road to recovery has been a long and difficult one with many potholes and detours along the way. Bynes’ struggle with mental illness played out in the public eye, and when she began to show signs of recovery earlier this year, fans rejoiced at the thought of having “the old Amanda” back. Now, it seems their celebrations may have been premature. Sources close to Bynes tell In Touch Weekly that the actress has suffered a “major relapse” and that she’s “struggling to regain control of her life. ” The news comes on the heels of a promising upswing, during which Bynes seemed to be getting the help she needed to repair her career and public image. The positive changes in her Bynes’ behavior began earlier this year. In April, Bynes returned to Twitter following an extended absence from the social media site. Shortly thereafter, she gave her first interview in four years, during which she stated that she’s “doing great,” keeping busy, and looking forward to returning to acting. “I’ve been going to school lately, fashion school, FIDM [the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising], and I love it. I’ve learned how to sew, I make patterns, and I want to start a clothing line in the future,” Bynes said. “Other than that,” she continued, “I hike, I go spinning, take spinning classes, and I feed the homeless, and that’s been really interesting and fun.” Sources verified that Bynes was once again pursuing an education after taking an extended hiatus: “She began taking classes in the fall, even though she was kicked out before for showing up high as a kite,” said one fellow student. “She seemed upbeat and talked about returning to TV.” Unfortunately, the return to television never took place, and insiders say it’s Bynes’ inability to find work that touched off her latest meltdown. The 31-year-old’s comeback came around the fifth anniversary of DUI arrest that seemed to trigger an extended downward spiral for Bynes. In the months that followed, her drug use increased, and her behavior became more erratic, a pattern that culminated in Bynes being placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold and hospitalized for several months. Here’s hoping Amanda can somehow regain that momentum and get back on the road to recovery.

August Ames Cause of Death Revealed; Bullying Backlash to Blame?

Even in 2017, this story was positively surreal. Just two days after straight porn star August Ames made waves with her controversial and homophobic statements, she died by suicide at the age of 23 . It was mysterious, strange, and sad. And now we know exactly how she died. August Ames, whose real name was Mercedes Grabowski, was a straight porn actress whose homophobic tweet and ensuing defense of it made the rounds earlier this week. It all started with a tweet of hers: “Whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @ EroticaXNews , you’re shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know.” “BS is all I can say [shrug emoji] Do agents really not care about who they’re representing? # ladirect I do my homework for my body.” So, what she’s clearly saying here is that she believes that gay men, bi men, or a straight man who has had sex with a man for money is more likely to have secretly contracted an STI. Plenty of male porn actors have sex with people they wouldn’t choose to date – money is money after all. However, the porn industry tests its performers regularly – particularly those who film bareback, as most of them do. This is a complicated issue, because as August Ames said herself while defending herself on Twitter, it’s her body and her choice. Which is fine. Being a sex worker does not in any way negate your bodily autonomy or grand automatic consent or whatever. You know what’s not fine? Bigotry. Some sex workers refuse to do scenes with a man who’s had sex with a man. Some sex workers refuse to do scenes with black men. That’s their right. In both cases, though, it sure looks a lot like prejudice. And the assumption that a man who has done gay porn is more likely to be diseased than someone else, well, that reeks of some anti-gay beliefs. Her tweet was further complicated by the fact that she was “warning” some unknown other woman, as if she believed that all women shared her prejudiced belief. “don’t have anything to apologize for!” she tweeted. “Apologizing for taking extra steps to ensue that my body stays safe?” Obviously, she would not have faced this kind of backlash if she were just a performer who always had her costars wear condoms (though that can be a career-killer). It’s because he “precautions” were so targeted that she was controversial. “F–k you guys attacking me when none of my intentions were malicious. I f–king love the gay community!” Given her other tweets, people read that as “I love these disease-prone, untrustworthy folks!” “What the f–k ever! I CHOOSE who I have inside my body. No hate.” A lot of people wanted for her to understand that her views did not reflect reality and that her beliefs were mistaken. Though some of the responses to her tweets were extreme, the vast majority did not want her to die . Unfortunately, on Tuesday, December 5th, news broke that August Ames had died at the age of 23. 23 is young — young enough that she could have later grown and realized the error of her beliefs. She’s not the first to have some problematic opinions at 23?  For a little perspective, we’re talking about a woman who was probably too young to have told you where she was and what she was doing on 9/11. August died by suicide, but the circumstances and manner of her death were unknown. Until now. HollywoodLife reports that the The Ventura County Medical Examiner Media spokesperson shared August Ames’ cause of death : “Mercedes Grabowski died of asphyxia due to hanging. [The] manner is suicide.” That is the medical examiner’s determination. The toxicology report (those never get finished as quickly as they do on police procedurals) has yet to come back, and may be illuminating regarding Ames’ state of mind. We can only assume that the backlash played a role in her mental state before she took her own life. She’ll be missed by fans, fellow adult performers, and of course by her friends. Her husband, Kevin Moore, has asked for privacy as he mourns his wife. Whatever anyone may think of August Ames’ statements, this is a tragedy. A young woman lost her life. Many people lost a friend and loved one. A Dallas County Texas grand jury indicted a Mesquite police officer with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for shooting an unarmed Black man he assumed was breaking into a truck but was actually trying to turn off the alarm of his own vehicle, NBC News Dallas reported. She punted to citizens and, luckily enough, they ran that punt back and scored a touchdown today,” Moore said. They encountered Jones in a truck when they arrived, and Officer Derick Wiley shot him in a scuffle. They claimed Jones was trying to run away, so they charged him with misdemeanor evading arrest and had him transported to the hospital where they kept him handcuffed to his hospital bed. Jones’ attorneys dispute that story, arguing that Wiley shot Jones within 10 seconds of arriving at the scene and a second time in the back while their client was lying on the ground. After an internal investigation, officials suspended Wiley for violating police department policy. If convicted, Wiley faces between five and 99 years in prison.
