Everyone loves a comeback story, and Sorrentino has plenty to come back from. “We’re excited to take viewers, who met Mike in a very different time and place of his life, and bring them along for this ride with The Sorrentinos,” said the network’s entertainment president, Brad Schwartz. “Family is everything, and it’s something people universally come back to no matter who you are and what you do. Australia’s loss is the rest of the music world’s gain. Kanye West has postponed a number of tour dates Down Under because he’s anxious to head back to the studio and work on his new album. “Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia,” read a statement posted to Roc Nation’s website, adding: “The tour dates originally scheduled from May 2 to May 11, 2014, will now be played from September 5 to September 15, 2014. All tickets for the initially scheduled shows will be honored for the new dates.” Kanye, of course, also has a wedding to plan. He’ll tie the knot with Kim Kardashian on May 24. Last month, West’s creative house (Donda) partnered up with Jay Z’s Roc Nation to manage its music division. The collaboration centers on Kanye’s recording brand and worldwide touring ventures. You know you’re effing up when even Canadians are tired of your crap. Why, for example, did producers seem to hint so strongly in a recent episode that the Mother (we still don’t know her real name) is diagnosed with a terminal illness shortly after marrying Ted? Would one of the most lighthearted series on TV really go out on such a down note? This being the Internet age, online fan theories abound. They range from ridiculous (Ted has Alzheimer’s, hence his meandering stories and tendency to forget major details about his life) to the wholly plausible (Ted had planned to show his kids his beloved Star Wars saga and launched into his lengthy tale only after his TV broke). Regardless of the details, the finale is sure to feature the signature blend of humor and sentimentality that’s made HIMYM such an enduring hit. Pharrell Williams has been tapped as a coach for The Voice Season 7 on NBC, the network announced with an appropriately #happy Tweet today. NBC posted: “Okay, we can OFFICIALLY say it! WE ARE SO #HAPPY to announce PHARRELL WILLIAMS = #NewVoiceCoach for SEASON 7.” Pharrell added, “This is going to be so fun.” Adam Levine, who has been a coach on all six seasons thus far, replied “Welcome to the circus dude!” NBC boss Paul Telegdy added that “he has already made a considerable impact as a mentor, drawing on an impressive track record as both a producer and performer.” “It is a perfect fit for The Voice as we evolve and reach for new heights with this franchise.
