I don’t really know what THIS PROJECT IS ALL ABOUT …someone posted it on my Facebook and I thought the pics were awesome….this is what the caption said… The Ninth Floor documents a group of addicts who moved into the apartment of a former millionaire in a wealthy neighborhood in downtown Manhattan. Joe Smith, in his mid 60s, allowed a young addict to move into a spare bedroom in his large three-bedroom apartment in hopes of gaining rent. Several years later, a fully addicted Joe no longer had a bedroom and as many as 12 to 15 young addicts stayed at any given time. All electricity and hot water had been turned off and anything valuable had long been sold to feed habits. This project documents the residents of this space leading up to their eviction and follows several of them after as they face jail and sickness, fight and love, attempt to get clean, sink deeper into addiction, go to jail, start families and struggle to survive. The petition to deport Justin Bieber back to Canada has garnered over 100,000 signatures, surpassing the threshold for official White House review (seriously). Actor Drake Bell and tens of thousands of fed-up citizens have signed an online petition to deport Justin Bieber on the government’s We The People site. Any petition that earns more than 100,000 signatures within 30 days qualifies for an administration review and response … no problems in this case. The Bieber petition already has more than 102,000 in just six days. Deport Justin Bieber! He didn’t mention it in his 2014 State of the Union address , but if there were any political issue President Obama and Congress can agree on, it’s probably this. The petition calls Justin Bieber a dangerous and reckless drug abuser who is “not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence.” Sounds about right. None of Bieber’s alleged crimes – even his DUI drag race adventure – would get the dude deported under current immigration law … but it’s worth a shot. Kate Gosselin is a wannabe celebrity who cut off ties with her family and hasn’t talked to her own relatives in years, according to her bitter sister. Kendra Wilber is speaking out publicly for the first time, claiming she’s heartbroken that she hasn’t seen her eight nieces and nephews in many years. Kate rejects all attempts at a reconciliation, Kendra says, despite the fact that Wilber lives just a few miles from Gosselin’s home in rural Pennsylvania. “Kate does not speak to her family at all. It is so very painful… The last time we saw and spoke with her it was in our church parking lot,” Wilber said. “That was years ago , I have lost track of time.” “I guess we weren’t totally on board with what was going on with the kids, I guess we weren’t excited enough for her and were concerned about her family.” ”Years later the divorce came about and we had every right to be,” she added, explaining that “there was no conversation and no argument at all.” “I guess we have our own life and she wants a big life and we don’t fit in. Jenelle Evans is pregnant with Nathan Griffith‘s baby, and based on a sneak peek from tomorrow evening’s Teen Mom 2, her mom may not be pleased about it. This pregnancy hasn’t happened yet in the TM2 universe, of course, but it’s impossible not to view these episodes in the context of what’s happening now. On the show, filmed last winter, Barbara reminds Jenelle that she’s still married to her estranged husband Courtland Rogers and warns her not to cheat on him. Mmmmyeah. So much for that, mom. Man Killed Trying To Save Suicidal Person On Train Tracks It’s sad he died while trying to save another person’s life. His willingness to put his life in danger to help save another life is commendable. According to Mercury News: As the express train came hurtling toward the Santa Clara station, Philip Scholz was waiting on the raised platform for his train home when he saw a man down on the Caltrain tracks. Scholz acted fast. He dropped his backpack, lay down on his belly and reached for the stranger on the tracks. “As the train approached, the person did want to get out of the way,” said his wife, Emily Scholz, “but between him and Phil, something happened and they were hit.” Scholz died on the tracks. The other man survived. Speaking publicly on Friday for the first time since her husband’s rescue attempt went wrong Monday evening, Emily Scholz said she learned he was dead — and what he did — when San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies arrived at her doorstep that night to deliver the horrible news. Scholz’s death left friends and co-workers stunned — shocked to lose a well-loved and respected companion but not surprised to hear he died trying to save someone else. He helped people. That is what he did, they said, even to the extent of risking his life for someone he’d never met. “That’s totally Phil, putting someone else before himself,” said Matt Conwell of Portland, Ore., who met Scholz 12 years ago in a professional capacity but became fast friends. “That’s the way he was.
