Stars Stand Up for Kim Kardashian: Leave Her Alone!

Constantly under fire these days for her weight gain, a pregnant Kim Kardashian continues to receive support from unlikely places. Jenna Dewan-Tatum has already spoken out on Kim’s behalf. So have Helena Christensen and Gloria Steinem . And now, culled from interviews they’ve given across a number of outlets, here’s a look at what some other celebrities have said about the criticism Kim continues to face: “I think that women should support each other, especially through pregnancy. It’s a difficult time and I think Kim Kardashian looks absolutely beautiful. And we’re supposed to gain weight when we’re pregnant — that’s how God intended it.” – Gwyneth Paltrow to Entertainment Tonight “She’s just so happy to be pregnant and to be moving on to a different time in her life. I love that she has embraced it and that she is still wearing whatever she wants to wear. I’m kind of jealous. I like it.” – Molly Sims to Entertainment Tonight “I am so excited for her as a young mom, and I keep telling her … relax and enjoy it. Gain the weight – who cares? – I can get you back better than ever. I think [the criticism is] ridiculous. I think it’s horrible. It’s sad for us as human beings. Who does that?” – personal trailer Tracy Anderson to Entertainment Tonight “I think women being pregnant should just be left alone. As a woman who went through that, you’re already feeling like something foreign took over your body. And to have everybody commenting on it, that’s tough. Let her wear what she wants. She’s so beautiful – with a face like that, who cares what your body’s doing?” – Sara Blakely, founder of Spanx

My name is Carla, I’m 16 and I’ll always remember this day,…

My name is Carla, I’m 16 and I’ll always remember this day, April 8, 2013. I live in France. There were two dates in France so I could do the second date which was Strasbourg. I was very lucky to be able to also get a M&G! Arriving at the venue, I talked with some girls who had a meet and greet. Security finally came, we showed them our tickets, and identity papers. The security guards told us not to run but my legs wouldn’t listen. As soon as we got inside, we went to a table and got our meet and greet passes. We waited again for nearly 3 hours because Justin was late. We sat on the floor with my friend Sophia as opposed to other girls who all were standing. We wanted to save our energy for Justin. During the waiting process, a nice man from the security, Ryan, explained us some rules: “Do not kiss Justin. Do not hug Justin without asking him. Do not ask him for an autograph. Do not lose your M&G pass and wristband.” Dan Kanter also came see us. He took pictures with us and we told him to ask Justin if he could take off his sunglasses during the photos because we can’t see his beautiful eyes. Dan said he didn’t see Justin today so he didn’t know what he was wearing. Ryan then told us to go forward and put our gifts for Justin’s on a table. I saw a black curtain and I immediately saw some flashes. I was like, “What’s happening? It’s going so quickly.” I just had the time to hear the first girl on the queue scream, “He isn’t wearing his sun glasses!!” and I was so reassured. Then it was finally my turn! The security directly pushed me to Justin. Justin said, ”Hey” and I asked him, “Can I have a hug?” and he answered, “Yeah” with a little smirk. I hugged him so quickly and intentionally I kissed him on his jawbone because he was in profile, already turned to the photograph. He didn’t reject me and was so nice. I was so focused on Justin that I even didn’t look the photographer. I just turned my head at that moment the flash was went on. I was smiling just because I had kissed him before. After the picture, Justin said, “You smell good.” I did not expect that. I was so chocked that I didn’t even thank him. I said, “I love you” and the security extracted me away from him. I began to cry, it was magical. I immediately called my mum to tell her how it was but I was crying. After, I called my best friend  Léa and I was shaking. I later found Sophia and we hugged each other and then went to the floor to see the concert. We danced and enjoyed every second of the show. I just want to thank Justin for everything he brought me in my life. I’ll always be there for you, I promise. I wish you all the happiness of the world. Take care, have a rest, be brave and keep your faith.  May God bless you in your hard times. Je t’aime. -@juustyou  Visit link: My name is Carla, I’m 16 and I’ll always remember this day,…

Mad Men Review: Martin Luther King Jr.’s Death Opens ‘The Flood’ of Personal Demons

Mad Men has always been uncomfortable about race—rather intentionally, one could presume, given that the show is all about keeping up appearances while everything falls apart. The “white picket fence” imagery was hugely important for the show’s first few seasons, but now, as Mad Men’s characters have moved into the city (and into ugly apartments with weird recessed living rooms) so too have the stuffy edifices of the suburbs disappeared. So while ‘The Flood,’ which takes place on the day Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed, echoes the season 3 episode ‘The Grown-Ups,’ which centered on the Kennedy Assassination, the subtext is entirely different. Both Kennedy and King represented hope; both were profoundly eminent and meaningful figures from the 60’s. But King’s assassination signifies the coming-to-a-head of all the brushed-aside racial conditions of the 1960s. While in the context of Mad Men , Kennedy’s death was a confirmation that, no, everything was not okay just because it looked pretty, this episode was about the fear of confronting one’s demons. America confronts its demons as New York and DC erupt in riots over the death of an African American hero. Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce confronts its demons as gluttonous upper-middle class business-as-usual is thrust into the terrifying social context of “much bigger picture-dom.” When Pete accuses Harry of racism for concerning himself with adjusted TV schedules in the wake of this tragedy, the response in the air is “but…this is what we do.” The border of social responsibility and the flashy business of Madison Avenue is further breached when a very bizarre insurance man comes to SCDP pitching an ad that evokes Dr. King’s death. Of course they’re not going to produce that ad. That would be blatant. But on a different day? When the expectation to be sad and outraged isn’t as high? It could be conceivable. Pete confronts the demons of his loneliness, embarrassment, and anger, when he tries to chat up the Chinese delivery guy, bringing food to his sad, sad closet of a Manhattan apartment, only to learn the guy can’t speak a word of English. The way Pete slaps down his bag of food in defeat is so satisfying. This is what happens when you try to be Don, Pete. This is what Don feels like. Ginsberg’s father tries to break him out of his shell, for fear that he won’t have anyone to share his life with. After all, when the biblical flood came, two of every animal got on the ark. He asks his son, “You gonna get on the ark with your father?” Then, Don confronts his own personal demons with the monumental confession to Megan that he doesn’t love his kids. At least, not until they impress him. All the main characters are trying to tackle the tragedy, and are genuinely affected by it. But they are all very much outsiders. They’ve rarely confronted race before, so it feels foreign that they should all be so emotional. When the white characters have to deal with their expectations about African American characters in the wake of Dr. King’s death, it gets uncomfortable. Don and Joan simply assume that Don’s black secretary Dawn wouldn’t be coming in. So when she shows up, she’s greeted by looks of shock and a painfully awkward hug from Joan. “You should go home,” says Don, fully expecting her to be grateful for his understanding. But her response is “I’d rather be here.” Then, at the movies, Don expects Bobby’s exchange with a black usher to go poorly. But he ends up, well, being impressed by his son (and thus feeling love for him), when he remarks that “everyone goes to the movies when they feel sad.” ‘The Flood’ is ultimately about confronting what was previously unspoken. It’s about the floodgates opening, and everyone bracing themselves for what’s about to come. The season is progressing nicely, and it’s always hard to tell what the first few Episodes in a Mad Men season are leading to. But it’s looking like veneers are going to be shed. That will likely include the truth coming out about Don’s affair with the neighbor. We all know Don’s got plenty of conversations that need to be had. So does the SCDP office. So does 1960s America. Everything’s been unraveling for 5 1/2 seasons. Now it’s time to air it all out. EPISODE RATING: 4/5

Meeting Justin on April 10th, 2013 was literally the best day of…

First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber…

First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber experience. I’m really blessed that I’m writing mine now. I met Justin on April 13th 2013. Tickets went on sale and my dad bought me one of the best tickets they had: section D row 9, in the golden circle. I was so happy, I cried all day. Then a week later, I logged on Twitter and checked the trends. I saw ‘M&G’ and clicked on it. I saw that there were meet & greets on sale in my country! As soon as I could, I quickly called my dad and asked if he wanted to buy me a meet and greet. Weird enough he said yes. I was so happy and could not believe it. I made a countdown calendar and started to count down all the way from 285 days. Everyday I was getting more and more excited. I logged in on Twitter and was looking for other beliebers who also had a meet and greet for my show. I found a girl, Roswitha. I started talking to her and we fangirled almost every day. A day before the concert I started realizing I was going to meet Justin the very next day. I woke up the next day, showered, did my makeup and hair, and I was ready to go to the Gelredome in Arnhem. My dad parked the car and I ran as fast as I could to the arena. I called Roswitha to ask her where she was because we wanted to meet each other so bad. After an hour of looking for some of my belieber friends, I finally found Roswitha and a other girl. Her name was Quinty. We walked to the door where we had to be for the meet and greets. Once we got inside, Ryan, the VIP host was upstairs and asked us for our tickets one more time. We showed them and then he gave us a meet & greet wristband and a pass. In line some girls screamed and everybody in the room ran to the window. That’s when we saw Justin’s tour bus and we almost cried! Time passed and we continued to follow a line. We stopped in front of a black curtain and they didn’t closed it yet. WE SAW JUSTIN. He was wearing his sunglasses on but he took them off. He looked into our direction and screamed so loud. Then the security closed the curtains but Justin was a badass and opened it and said, “Come in ladies.” After 10 seconds they pushed Roswitha in and then myself. I literally saw Justin SO close. After 3 years of believing. It was the best feeling to see your entire world standing in front of you. At that moment I realized how much Justin means to me. I didn’t saw him on a TV or on a laptop screen. No, he was standing right in front of me. Just being flawless and happy. I smiled when Justin smiled and he took my breath away. Roswitha got pushed away and I was next. Justin asked me, “Have you ever been to a rainforest?” He was talking so fast and I was in shock so I replied, “Huh?” Justin smelled so good, he is so handsome. They took the picture and I wanted to say, “I love you” but the security pushed me away. I walked in the hall and the meet & greet line was so long. I was crying my eyes out and ran to Roswitha. We both cried together. After that we walked into the arena and people were lining up to ask us how it was and they almost cried with us. It was AMAZING. I got to my seat just in time to see the countdown begin. Within seconds, Justin came out with wings. I screamed as loud as I could, I was barely breathing. I enjoyed every second of the concert, I really felt the energy in the arena, and Justin seemed so happy. The concert was so wonderful. It definitely changed my life. To all those beliebers who are still waiting on that day to meet/see Justin, NEVER GIVE UP. I’ve been a belieber since 2010 and I never met Justin or even saw until April 13, 2013. Now it’s your turn. Thank you for reading my Bieber experience. -@OurJustinGrewUp Read the rest here: First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber…

First of all, I never thought I was going to write my own Bieber…

I’ve always loved reading Bieber experiences. I knew one…

I’ve always loved reading Bieber experiences. I knew one day I would be able to write mine and now here I am. My name is Ludovica, I’m 16 and I live in Rome, Italy. I’ve been a belieber since 2011 and I love Justin more than my own life. He’s my world, my everything. I saw him for the first time when he came in Italy on June 2nd, 2012 to promote his new album ‘Believe.’ The day before, I won a contest to see his performance in Verona . You can see me at 2:29.   I would have never expected that one month later I would have bought tickets to see my idol in concert again. On July 2nd, Believe tour dates came out and I came to know that Justin would be coming to Italy. My mum knows how much he means to me, so she agreed to buy the tickets. On July 4th I finally brought tickets to see my idol in concert, I was so excited and so happy but I wanted to buy M&G so bad. Meeting Justin was my biggest dream. I started saving money and five months later I finally bought the M&G package. I started crying and shaking. I was so happy. The days passed quickly, and finally March 23, 2013 arrived. I arrived at the arena in Bologna. The place was full of beliebers and I can’t explain how I felt in that moment. I spent the afternoon waiting to get my wristband for the meet and greet with two other beliebers. When they gave me the pass I ran into a gate where security divided us into two lines. At the M&G, Justin was late, as always, haha. While we were waiting for him we all sang and saw Dan, Scrappy, Kenny, Justin’s grandparents and also Justin riding on his segaway. Soon it was time to meet Justin. Before entering in that famous black curtain I gave my letter for Justin to a member of the security. Then a man pushed me inside and in that moment, I was completely paralyzed. I couldn’t more or speak. I had my life in front of me, he was THERE. We were in the same room, breathing the same air. I couldn’t believe that kidrauhl, the boy I’ve been supporting for years was there. I couldn’t stop staring at him. He was so perfect, he looked like an angel, my angel. When Justin saw me, he opened his left arm and I went next to him. The photographer took the photo and before security pushed me away I looked at Justin one last time. My hand looked for his but I found only his arm. While I was touching his arm I said to him, “I love you…I love you.” He looked at me and said, “Me too,” then security pushed me away. They gave me some merch, but I was still paralyzed. I stayed about 10 minutes looking at him while he met the other girls from M&G. After that I went into the arena. The concert was perfect. I cried my eyes out, I love him so much, I will never thank him enough. March 23 rd was the best day of my life. -@stratfordsangel See original here: I’ve always loved reading Bieber experiences. My name is Malin, I’m almost 16 years old and from Norway . It’s finally my turn to write one of these. Never in my life did I imagine this would happen. I still can’t believe I met JUSTIN BIEBER! My inspiration, my idol, my everything. He got me through so much, and he’s always so amazing to the fans! The concert week was a tough week for me, so to be able to meet the one who kept me going was incredible! It started last summer when they announced the Believe Tour in Norway. My best friend and I literally knew how the ticket system worked in-and-out. We were going for the best tickets, diamond circle, and we got them at one of the pre-sales. Our goal was to go for the M&G package on the day the tickets came out, my birthday. I did catch one ticket for me, but right when I was about to pay, the site crashed, and I lost my M&G. I was grumpy the whole day on my birthday, but I was happy I had the best tickets! After the fall break they announced an extra concert in Norway and I was determined to get a M&G this time! I ditched my spanish lesson and sat home trying to get the tickets. I got a hold of a M&G and payed as fast we could. It was sealed, I was going to MEET him! After 3 or 4 years of hoping, believing and never said never! The concert week started with a real bad fight I had with my dad, something that really saddened me. I had my midterm exams the days before the show and it was a really stressful week! When the day came, all that was in my head was that THIS was actually happening! After waiting for 3 hours or so, the M&G people moved us to a new place where we stood in line. I tried to mentally prepare for the meeting as good as I could, but it was impossible. When it was my turn in the line, all I could do was yell, “Heeeey!!” with a huge grin on my face. Justin looked me in the eyes with his beautiful brown eyes and smiled a little bit, and then I was placed beside him for the picture. I just needed his closure there and then, so I leaned into his chest when the picture was taken and kind of side-hugged him while he was stroking my back gently. I think I had too many thoughts in my head or I blacked out, I don’t even remember, but I think I thanked him before I had to go. As I walked out I just needed to see him one last time; to save the memory in my head. I looked back at him and at that moment he looked at me too, and THAT was the best memory I could ever ask for! Even though he didn’t say anything to me, he smiled at me and he was SO perfect. I couldn’t even understand he was real. I forgot to thank him for everything and say ‘I love you,’ but in the middle of it all I couldn’t think straight. If you read this Justin, I want you to know I love you SO much, you have no idea! I wanna thank you for everything you’ve done for me! You’ve made me a better person and helped me so much to become the person I am today! I stood in the front row through the whole concert and he was so close! I was amazed through the entire night, and everything was perfect! I couldn’t ask for a better day, 18th of April was the best day of my life so far! I will meet him once more in my life. Thank you Justin for making this possible and for being you! Always keep that beautiful smile on your face, because we will never leave you. – Malin Read this article: My name is Malin, I’m almost 16 years old and from Norway….
