Keys premiere the wacky Harmony Korine-directed clip days before they take the stage at this Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. By James Montgomery The Black Keys in their “Gold on the Ceiling” video Photo: Warner Music Back in February, when MTV News sat down with the Black Keys to premiere their “Gold on the Ceiling” video, they let it be known that they had just shot another clip — this one directed by oddball auteur Harmony Korine — though they weren’t really sure what it was for. “We did a video with Harmony, but it’s not really for ‘Gold on the Ceiling,’ ” frontman Dan Auerbach said. “Well, it is, sort of,” drummer Patrick Carney added. And though he couldn’t say when the clip would see the light of day, Auerbach went on to describe it thusly: “Pat and I are dressed up like babies, in onesies, and we’re in BabyBj
Sophie Vlaming is some hot Dutch 24 year old – who didn’t have to work in a Red Light District fucking tourists or students from North America on their summer back packing trips…she didn’t have to work in the wind mills or spend her days crafting wooden shoes….she didn’t have to work in the Tulip fields….or doing whatever the fuck it is Dutch people do….because she was hot enough, tall enough, skinny enough, to get a modeling contract that lead to showing her titties to the world….instead of to just one or a handful of unappreciative asshole like most girls….making her a hero amongst women…something you should all aspire to be…according to me… And here is her tit in a mesh top.
Audience members sat on one another’s shoulders festival-style despite the ‘snazzy venue.’ By Nadeska Alexis Florence Welch Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ Getty Images NEW YORK — Despite a lack of sleep, which she credited to having a very eventful stay in New York, Florence Welch still tapped into festival-level energy for her sold-out show at Radio City Music Hall on Tuesday night. In the time that’s elapsed since the release of her 2009 debut Lungs, the 25-year-old English musician, stylized with her band as Florence and the Machine , has blossomed into an international star and a world-class performer. That much was reflected in her ability to command the audience’s attention, keeping them on their feet throughout an hour-long show in a venue that afforded the option of seating. The show was live-streamed on Fuse TV, and maybe because of this, Welch performed a set that was heavy on material from her most recent LP Ceremonials, breaking only to backtrack with Lungs singles “Dog Days Are Over,” “Cosmic Love” and “Rabbit Heart.” Opening up with the new album’s intro track “Only If for a Night,” Florence got her vocals warmed up, easily hitting the rapturous notes on “What the Water Gave Me” and “All This and Heaven Too,” with her energy level steadily rising with each song. With the vibe finally established and the crowd engaged, Florence took a few extra moments to get her audience prepared for “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up),” by encouraging men in the crowd to hoist dates on their shoulders, summer festival-style, despite Radio City being “quite a snazzy venue.” It didn’t take much prompting. Immediately, girls in the crowd began to pop up on shoulders, and Welch gleefully tallied the number of fans who were happy to oblige, before launching into the song. “Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” was one of the highlights of the set, complete with an extended break allowing the audience to clap along to the percussion, while Welch skipped from one end of the stage to the next. Her sheer, billowing jumpsuit, which gave her the appearance of a fairy as she sauntered across the stage, was also mesmerizing when she stood still, arms spread, letting her vocals fill up the empty space in the auditorium on songs like “Spectrum.” Her disarming interactions with the crowd made it easy to swoon over her, and performing “Heartlines” after admitting that New York feels “more and more like home” didn’t hurt either. “Dog Days Are Over,” one of her biggest singles to date, was an obvious smash with the audience, and the encore found her delivering two final cuts from Ceremonials. “Never Let Me Go,” came with a dedication to a fan’s mother who had just passed away and “No Light, No Light” was her final number before disappearing for the night. At Tribeca Film Festival, actor tells MTV News, ‘I’d like to see him yield, essentially, to his darkest instincts.’ By Kevin P. Sullivan Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth in “Thor” Photo: Zade Rosenthal/Paramount Few actors take on the task of playing a super-villain quite like Tom Hiddleston . The British actor approaches his mischievous character, Loki the Norse god, with the utmost seriousness, going as far as writing an op-ed piece defending superhero movies in the Guardian . Hiddleston has been confirmed to reprise his role as Loki in ” Thor 2 ” for a while now. The sequel, due out next year, is said to explore the other cosmic realms outside of Asgard and Earth, but Hiddleston is much more interested in a more-personal exploration of his troubled character. At the closing-night festivities for the Tribeca Film Festival, the actor once again proved his passion for his character, telling MTV News, “I’d like to take [Loki] to his absolute rock bottom. I’d like to see him yield, essentially, to his darkest instincts. Then, having hit rock bottom, maybe come back up.” Loki’s origins, something that has always interested Hiddleston, cast the god as a more ambivalent one. In “Thor 2,” the actor hopes to perhaps find some redemption for Loki and maybe even join the forces of good. “I think the fascination for me about playing Loki is that, in the history of the mythology and the comic books and the Scandinavian myths, is he’s constantly dancing on this fault line of the dark side and redemption,” he explained. “I don’t know when, but it will be so fun to see him see the light again and be recruited to the good side.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Thor 2.” For breaking news and previews of the latest comic book movies — updated around the clock — visit SplashPage.MTV.com . Book Reveals Obama’s Sexual Conquests Obama turns the light down low for these broads… A new book is being released that discusses Obama’s life. And while we’re sure there are some interesting details in it that are inspiring, we’re interested in this detail about him getting his freak on. Genevieve Cook is the woman in question and she wrote a detailed diary of her freaky tales with Obama. Let’s begin with the first date:”I’m pretty sure we had dinner maybe the Wednesday after. I think maybe he cooked me dinner. Then we went and talked in his bedroom…And then I spent the night. It all felt very inevitable.” Oooh..what happened next? Oh, of course, post-coital musk. “I open the door, that Barack keeps closed, to his room, and enter into a warm, private space pervaded by a mixture of smells that so strongly speak of his presence, his liveliness, his habits—running sweat, Brut spray deodorant, smoking, eating raisins, sleeping, breathing.” Well that’s…something. Man Held For Random Hammer Deaths In Las Vegas This is sad and crazy. Using a hammer as a weapon, a “complete stranger” with no significant criminal history allegedly chose a family at random and attacked them in their home, killing a woman and her daughter, in a brutal crime that left investigators both baffled and aghast. Bryan Clay, 22, was arrested Friday in the April 15 rape and bludgeoning deaths of 38-year-old Ignacia Martinez and 10-year-old Karla Martinez. He had no connection to the family of five, Lt. Ray Steiber said Saturday. “This was a complete stranger killing a mother and daughter and attacking the father,” Steiber told the Associated Press. “I’ve been doing this (police work) 24 years, and you don’t see cases like this. I can’t even put this into words.” Police were notified about the case when a 9-year-old boy, who was not injured by the attacker, came to school the next day and informed a counselor that his mom and sister were dead. Nothing was taken from the house, and investigators were unsure of the motive for the attack. “There’s no rhyme or reason to why (it happened),” he said, adding Clay doesn’t have a “significant” criminal history. Clay also was booked in the beating and rape of a 50-year-old woman in the same west Las Vegas neighborhood hours before the slayings. Steiber said he didn’t know why the two boys, 9 and 4, were spared in the home invasion attack. Arturo Martinez, 39, the husband and father, was critically injured in the attack and remains hospitalized with head injuries. He has been unable to talk to investigators. Both the mother and daughter were sexually assaulted, Steiber said. In the earlier attack, the 50-year-old woman was walking near an intersection when an assailant forced her into a nearby desert area and violently sexually assaulted her April 15. “(She was) chased, beaten and raped,” Steiber said. DNA results linked Clay to both attacks, investigators said. A baseball cap left behind by the woman’s attacker turned out to be a key piece of evidence, KLAS-TV reported. Authorities found the bodies of the girl and the mother in separate bedrooms. The two boys remained in the home for at least 24 hours with the bodies and their severely injured father, Steiber said. Steiber said he didn’t know if Clay had a lawyer, and attempts to reach a police spokeswoman were unsuccessful. Clay was being held without bail Saturday pending an initial court appearance. He was booked on various charges, including murder, battery with a deadly weapon and sexual assault. Looks like Bryan probably won’t be seeing the light of day anytime soon. R.I.P. to those who lost their lives to this senseless act of violence. Source More On Bossip! 3 Of Kanye West’s Albums On Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums Of All Time” List Can you guess which ones?? Three Kanye West albums have made it on to the latest edition of Rolling Stone magazine’s authoritative “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list, placing him among the greats of popular music. The new ranking, which combines a 2003 list (updated in 2005) with a later survey of the 2000s, saw two Radiohead records join the elite club, while long-established names including Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan also had albums added. Rolling Stone has published the list, along with details of the albums and several new recording histories based on first-hand accounts, in “bookazine” format available for $11.99 on newsstands between Friday and July 25 in the United States. The big beneficiary was U.S. hip-hop star West, who saw 2005 album “Late Registration,” “The College Dropout” (2004) and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” (2010) make it to the top 500. In total, 30 albums were added and 30 taken away, with the casualties including several artists well-represented on the list already and whose “lesser” albums have now been dropped. The highest entry among recent albums was West’s “Late Registration” at No. 118. Asked whether the relatively low position of recently released albums reflected a barren period for great rock and pop, Hoard replied: “My personal opinion is no. Music is as inspirational as it’s ever been. “Things get clearer as the years pass. If you held this poll in 10 years, say, Arcade Fire could be a lot higher and the same could be said of Kanye West. Reputation and time definitely help an album, especially with pollers like ours.” Radiohead features twice — for “Amnesiac” (2001) and “In Rainbows” (2007), Jay-Z is added for “The Black Album” (2003), Lil Wayne makes it with “Tha Carter III” (2008) and the late Amy Winehouse for “Back to Black.” Among those dropping out to make way for the additions were The Beach Boys (“Sunflower”), David Bowie (“Changesone”), Elton John (“Elton John”) and Madonna (“Music”). SMH. Residents of Las Cruces, New Mexico with outstanding red-light-camera traffic tickets are in danger of having their utilities shut off. The program, placing cameras at intersections, is just over three years old, and in that time violators have run up $2 million in unpaid fines. “Over time we were looking at various options, various ways to recoup that money,” Udell Vigil, the communications director for the City of Las Cruces, told ABC News.com. The fines are broken up between the city, the state of New Mexico and the camera company. The city is owed $600 thousand in unpaid tickets. “We can’t go through the courts; it’s not that type of citation,” said Vigil. “We don’t have legal enforcement authority.” When the city explored options, officials came across Section 28-10 of the Las Cruces Municipal Code, which says, “The city may decline, fail or cease to furnish utility service to any person who may be in debt to the city for any reason, except ad valorem taxes and special assessments,” according to the city website. Despite angry residents, many are acknowledging the responsibility of paying the ticket and other residents are calling to double check they do not have any violations, said Vigil. Vigil provided ABC News with an example of the letter being sent to residents: Dear Mr./Ms. Doe: The City of Las Cruces has issued multiple Notice of STOP (Red Light camera) violations to you as the registered owner of the offending vehicle and as identified on the attached listing. Unfortunately, the STOP fines remain unpaid after several months of attempted collection. Accordingly, you are hereby advised that, unless the STOP fines are paid or other satisfactory payment arrangements are made with the City on or before (date) the City will terminate all current City-provided utility service to the residence located at ______________________ pursuant to Las Cruces Municipal Code Section 28-10, a copy of which is attached.
