Acclaimed actress and singer Liza Minnelli has been admitted to a rehab facility to treat substance abuse problems, according to multiple media reports. The star, 69, has already checked into the facility , the name of which is not being disclosed, confirms Scott Gorenstein, a spokesperson for Minnelli. “Considering she’s doing so well, we expect that she’ll be released shortly,” Gorenstein says of the celebrity, who has battled substance abuse over the years. She has sought treatment in the past, as well. In 1984, Minnelli was treated for alcohol and prescription drug addiction after the death of mother Judy Garland, who overdosed on sleeping pills in 1969. Said a lifelong friend of Liza’s at the time: “She’s living her mother’s career all over again, being the biggest star in show business, peaking out in films, the weird marriages, the pills, the booze.” In 2002, court documents revealed that alcohol reportedly played a role in her divorce from her fourth and most famous marriage, to, producer David Gest. Also a Grammy, Tony and Emmy winner, Minnelli is probably best known for the 1972 musical Cabaret which won her an Academy Award for Best Actress. Kathy Griffin has once again spoken out about her exit from E!’s Fashion Police. The comedian abrubtly quit the series in mid-March, saying via statement that her “style does not fit with the creative direction of the show” and that it was “time to move on.” Many have wondered whether Griffin’s departure was related to the death of Joan Rivers or the controversial comments made by Giuliana Rancic about Zendaya Coleman . But Griffin appeared on The View today and said her issues ran far deeper than that. Comparing her experience on Fashion Police to “dog pile,” Griffin explained: “As a feminist and a comic, it just didn’t feel like the right fit to me. I was being forced to comment about pictures of beautiful women in perfect dresses and say kind of bad things.” Griffin acknowledged that her stand-up “repertoire” included some “heinous” things, but there’s a difference between that she does and what she was being asked to do on E!. “I wouldn’t hold up a picture of Kim Kardashian and say, ‘She’s ugly! Linds posted the above photo with a caption reading, “Break the Internet with clothes on.” There are several problems with that goal. For one thing, it’s impossible to break the Internet with clothes on unless you are a cat. She certainly would like to be, as evidenced by the photo of Lindsay and Kris Jenner that LiLo posted on Instagram with the caption, “Family time.” Sadly, while becoming a Kardashian would undoubtedly be the best possible thing for Lindsay’s career, even Kris wouldn’t adopt her with a ten foot adoption pole these days. Well, maybe if Lindsay was willing to get a sex change and was willing to star in a reality show about it. Now that would break the Internet. Especially if she adopted a cat first.
It is really unfortunate that Lindsay Lohan doesn’t matter anymore. She was so fun and accessible. Her tits were great and I really felt she had what it took to win an Oscar, because let’s face it, it doesn’t take much to win an Oscar, acting is a joke and if you think otherwise, you’re just buying into the lie that is Hollywood, to justify the big pay days…. That said, this magical creature has graced our lives, has miraculously not died yet…she hasn’t even really been in all that many movies…but I think she still matters, and not just to the men she’s given herpes to, but to every one because she’s Lindsay Lohan…and that’s all anyone really needs to be… I figure she’s posting this titty pic for attention, but if she hired me as her free publicist, I could have her 1000 other ways to get noticed and only 50% involve gaping….and all involve selfies…so I guess she’s part of the way there….which is more than we can say about other aspects of her career.
