Demi Moore Joins ‘Lovelace’ Biopic

Actress will play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in flick about adult film star Linda Lovelace. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Moore Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage “Lovelace” has found its Gloria Steinem. Demi Moore will play the feminist icon, who covered the release of the adult film “Deep Throat” and profiled its star, Linda Lovelace, in Ms. magazine back in the 1970s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, other new additions to the cast include Adam Brody, who will play Lovelace’s “Deep Throat” co-star Harry Reems, and Eric Roberts, who’s onboard as lie detector expert Nat Laurendi. “Lovelace” is currently shooting in Los Angeles, where Moore, Roberts and Brody join Amanda Seyfried (as Lovelace) and James Franco, who’ll make a cameo as Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. The film also stars Peter Sarsgaard as Lovelace’s husband, Chuck Traynor; Bobby Cannavale and Chris Noth as “Deep Throat” investors Butchie Peraino and Anthony Romano; Hank Azaria as writer/director Jerry Damiano; Robert Patrick as Linda’s father, John Boreman; and Sharon Stone as Lovelace’s mother. Juno Temple will play the adult film star’s best friend and Wes Bentley has been cast as her second husband. “Howl” directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are helming the project. According to previous reports, the role of Rat Packer Sammy Davis Jr. has yet to be cast. “It’s going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time,” Seyfried told ABCNews.com about the role in December. “It’s something completely different. I do have some liberties there but I am playing someone that existed in history and had quite an established reputation for something very extreme.” Seyfried is not the first actress attached to the Linda Lovelace role. Seyfried’s “Mean Girls” co-star and Playboy cover girl Lindsay Lohan was set to star in a separate Lovelace biopic before getting dropped by producers more than a year ago. Before Seyfried nabbed the role in this latest biopic, Olivia Wilde had also been mentioned as a possible star. We’ve reached the top of our Celebrity of the Year countdown. Or, as many might say, given the winner, the bottom . The THG staff has spent the last couple weeks breaking down the most newsworthy stars of 2011, from Lindsay Lohan at #10, up to the impressive comeback of Jennifer Lopez at #9, to the popularity of Selena Gomez at #8 and the hilarity of viral video stars at #7. There was the hit-generating Katy Perry at #6, Justin Bieber and his hair at #5, those gorgeous British Royal Family members at #4, Charlie Sheen and his winning ways at #3 and the most charitable, eccentric celeb of all at #2, Lady Gaga . So who remains? The woman who accomplished both everything and nothing in 2011, our #1 selection of the year… Kim Kardashian ! For the record, this is a business decision. We do not like Kim Kardashian. We wish we never had to write a word about Kim Kardashian. We fail to see why a single human being is a fan of Kim Kardashian. But the facts speak for themselves, and no celebrity made more headlines in 2011. Consider: In JANUARY : Kim kicked off the new year by debuting a single that made Kim Zolciak sound like Whitney Houston. She also met the family of Kris Humphries for the first time and premiered the highly-rated, critically-lambasted Kourtney & Kim Take New York . In February : She starred in a Super Bowl commercial and whined over her latest nude photo spread . It also came out that she and her family made $65 million in 2010. In MARCH : She appeared in a Midori ad campaign , as buzz first circulated that she might marry Humphries. In APRIL : She lashed out at Turkish Cosmo and posed on many red carpets in a cleavage-baring dress. In MAY : She came out with a new fragrance, got angry over the misuse of her bare boobs and, oh, got engaged to Humphries . In JUNE : She appeared on the covers of multiple tabloids and defended herself against rumors of infidelity . In JULY : She took photos of herself in Humphries’ hometown and got into trouble for complaining about the Casey Anthony verdict . In AUGUST : She married Humphries . Perhaps you heard about it. In SEPTEMBER : She honeymooned with Kris while her publicists plotted how to best announce the upcoming divorce . Someone also tried to purchase the rights to her sex tape . In OCTOBER : She turned 31 and rumors started to swirl that her marriage was already in trouble. She ended the month by filing for divoce. In NOVEMBER : She whined and cried and played ignorant as to why anyone would dare questions her motives to marry. She visited Australia and Minnesota and premiered season two of Kourtney & Kim Take New York . Over three million people tuned in. In DECEMBER : She was considered one of the Most Fascinating People of 2011 by Barbara Walters and will conclude her most prosperous year to date the only way she knows how: by standing around a club in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve and earning $600,000 .

Former Co-Star Blasts Will Smith as Egomaniacal "A–hole"

And the award for Most Unexpected Feud of the Week goes to… A few days after Will Smith posted a photo on his Facebook (below) of him and fellow cast members from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, many wondered: where was actress Janet Hubet, who portrayed the character of Smith’s aunt, Vivian, for multiple seasons? The answer, according to Hubert herself: Nowhere to be found near the former star of that sitcom… and don’t expect that to change any time soon. “I will never do anything with an a–hole like Will Smith,” Hubert told TMZ. “He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.” Hubert believes Smith got her fired in 1993, halfway through the show’s run, because she refused to kiss up to the actor. He, of course, tells a different version, claiming Hubert was simply bitter because he instantly got a major break in the acting business, while she struggled for 10 years. But both agree on one thing apparently: “To her I’m just the AntiChrist,” Smith told an Atlanta radio station.

Ali Lohan Turns 18, Celebrates With Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan’s model sister, Ali, would like to be called by her full name, Aliana Lohan, now that she’s turned 18. It sounds more mature. That’s her reasoning. Whatever name you call her by, she’s now a legal adult, and the family feted Aliana with a birthday celebration at Beaumarchais restaurant in NYC December 21. Lindsay, along with a group of her friends, mom, Dina, and younger brothers Cody and Michael Jr. – also celebrating his 24th birthday BTW – honored Ali/Aliana. “It’s clear Lindsay and Michael Jr. are very close. They were talking a lot. Michael had his arm around her. She seemed to be confiding in him,” an eyewitness said. She also went outside to smoke cigarettes with her mom at one point. Later on that night, Playboy cover girl Lindsay “ordered a bunch of glasses of champagne for the table and switched to drinking that,” says a source. Yay. Later, Ali Lohan and her new face snapped photos on Lindsay’s camera before her older sister got up to ask the restaurant staff to prepare a cake. Although Aliana has been called an anorexic waif , she doesn’t seem to be watching what she eats. Adds the eyewitness, she wolfed down the whole meal! We hope it stayed down. Lindsay Lohan is modeling with clothes on for a change. The troubled but resurgent starlet, whose Playboy issue is flying off the shelves, has just become the face (and body) of Jag Jeans (whatever that is)! In fact, the Jag campaign was shot at the SLS Hotel in L.A. by Yu Tsai, the person behind the camera for Playboy ‘s Marilyn-themed Lindsay Lohan pics . It pays to get out there and network, people! Lohan continues to make sultry facial expressions, as usual, while tussling her hair and rocking barely-there jean shorts … in an ad for jeans. Whatever. “As Jag Jeans’ endorser, Lindsay embodies strength and fearlessness, is unafraid to be who she is, and is fierce yet exudes feminine grace,” the brand says. Tsai said in a press release that, “Lindsay did not disappoint … Lindsay was so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set.” “She even requested scissors so she could personally fray the edges of her black crepe blouse because she believed it would look better that way.” “Lindsay would take a hands-on approach to her shots. She was more than willing to change her hairstyle mid-shoot and even used her own personal jewelry.” No word if she stole any of it , but good to hear.

Celebrity of the Year Finalist #5: Justin Bieber

Not so fast, Times Square ball. Before we celebrate the beginning of 2012, it’s time to raise a glass to the year that was. At THG, we’re doing that by counting down the 10 most newsworthy celebrities of 2011. First, there was the arresting centerfold Lindsay Lohan at #10; then the newly-divorced reality show judge Jennifer Lopez at #9; then the singing sensation Selena Gomez at#8; then those hilarious viral video stars at#7 spot; then everyone’s favorite California Gurl Katy Perry at #6. Now, at #5, who else? Justin Bieber himself! 2011 was the year Justin Bieber went from floppy-haired niche favorite to mainstream teenage icon. He met the President, he made wishes come true for family members of 9/11 , he even proved infallible to the classic celebrity scandal. Seriously. Nice try, Mariah Yeater . Coming into this year, we all knew Justin could sing. But 12 months later, we know now he can also play basketball , give back to charities and dominate the box office as much as he can the music charts. “Never Say Never” made millions across the U.S. and was actually applauded by most movie critics . Bieber can also rap, act (hello, CSI guest starring-spot!) and almost take down Twitter single-handedly by merely getting a haircut. Justin went public in February with Selena Gomez, but that relationship has not slowed down his popularity. To the star’s credit, he’s been nothing but open about his feelings and his connection to this pretty artist. The only drawback of their courtship? How Bieber has made every other boyfriend in the country look horrible by comparison, thanks to stunts such as this . A crossover star, Bieber sang duets in 2011 with everyone from Chris Brown to Mariah Carey, Usher to Boyz II Men. We’re looking at our generation’s next Justin Timberlake here, a singer who can step across genres, on to the big screen, really succeed anywhere across the entertainment spectrum. The guy is seriously talented. Justin concluded an incredible year by releasing a Christmas album that shot to number-one on the charts, to no one’s surprise. He made the media round in promotion, dazzling David Letterman and singing live for Today Show viewers. You name the medium and Justin Bieber has controlled it over the past few months. So congratulations on your number-five ranking, JB. We have a feeling you’ll be a mainstay on this countdown for many years to come.

Tupac Sex Tape: Sold to "Private Collector"

The absurd Tupac sex tape unearthed earlier this year has been sold, but only to a private collector who has no plans to make the 1991 footage public. According to reports, the former owner of the tape decided not to sell to any corporate sex companies, describing them as “parasites.” How virtuous. It is unknown how much the 2Pac video sold for, but it was reported that two rival porn agencies were ready to pay $150,000 or more for the Tupac sex tape. Tupac’s family have made it clear they do not want the X-rated flick to be distributed and have insisted that they “will sue anyone who tries to sell a Tupac tape.” According to an official spokesman for Tupac’s estate, only his family can authorize the use of Tupac’s image for commercial use and they would not permit this. The rapper’s mother Afeni Shakur has also reportedly told her representatives: “Get the legal team ready because we will not allow someone to put it out.” Looks like a moot point now. The footage of Tupac getting serviced orally by some girl at a house party while smoking, drinking and dancing to his own music will be enjoyed by a private collector for personal use only. Lindsay Lohan Playboy Sales: Off the Charts!

The Lindsay Lohan Playboy issue is selling like hotcakes. We have no idea where that expression comes from or how it applies here, but a lot of guys are buying the magazine. That’s the long and short of this post. If her movie career doesn’t pick back up, she clearly has a future in soft core adult material. The nearly $1 million she banked may end up being a bargain for Playboy . Nwsstands around the country are not only selling out, they’re re-ordering the issue due to the incredible popularity of the Marilyn-themed Lindsay Lohan photos . The 25-year-old has also boosted subscription sales to their online service, iPlayboy (dot) com, even after the premature leak of the Playboy pictures online. The cover (above) supposed to be unveiled during Lohan’s heavily-hyped interview on Ellen, which was rendered moot when the actress blew off the taping. In any case, it’s been a tough year for LiLo – rehab, a shoplifting conviction, house arrest, jail, few acting gigs – but the naked truth is, it’s ending on a high note.

Hope Dworaczyk on Lindsay Lohan Playboy Pics: WEAK!

Make no bones about it, Lindsay Lohan’s nude Playboy spread does not live up to all the hype, according to 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworaczyk. “I saw that spread … and I was not impressed,” Hope told TMZ. “I just feel like if I would have known I was doing a Playboy shoot, I would have worked out more maybe,” adds Dworaczyk, who first posed in 2009. OUCH! Dworaczyk, who had NBA star Jason Kidd’s baby, has a point as well. The much touted ballyhooed “boobs, ass, and vadge” Lindsay Lohan pictures are sort of a letdown. There is no actual vadge of courage first of all, and they photoshopped the crap out of LiLo to the point where her freckles and “fiery” features are totally gone. At least in the case of Hope Dworaczyk , she was wearing body paint, but still resembled herself in the mag. With Lohan, it’s basically a faux version of herself. Finally, she ALREADY POSED AS MARILYN MONROE for New York Magazine in 2008, in a spread that was both more revealing and sexier. Okay, rant over. You tell us: Lindsay Lohan in Playboy …
