Betty Ford staffer reportedly accused Lohan of attacking her on December 12. By Jocelyn Vena Lindsay Lohan (file) Photo: Pool/ Getty Images Lindsay Lohan has been named a suspect in an assault case. According to multiple reports, the actress is being accused of attacking a female staffer at the Betty Ford Center in an incident on December 12. Lohan allegedly acted out when the staffer asked her to take a drug and alcohol test. “The incident involved Lindsay Lohan and another female adult who was a staff member at the location,” a police spokesman told E! News . “Lohan was reported as the suspect in the investigation and the victim desired prosecution.” Officers responded to the Betty Ford-affiliated sober house that Lohan is staying in. “The incident is being investigation as a misdemeanor, not committed in the presence of a peace officer; therefore no one was arrested at the scene,” the spokesman added. “The investigation is currently ongoing. Upon completion of the investigation reports will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed in the case.” Sgt. Joe Borja of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department explained to People.com that though no one was arrested in the incident, “The victim desired prosecution. The incident is being investigated as a misdemeanor.” Currently Lohan is set to be released from rehab on January 3 and has a progress hearing on February 25. Calls by MTV News to the Palm Desert police were not returned by press time. Additionally, a rep for the actress had not responded to MTV News’ request for comment by press time. Our above headline is possibly a little unfair to Miley Cyrus, but when actor Garrett Hedlund is seen on video smoking an unconventional-looking cigarette, which he INSISTS is not weed, on the street in Montreal, then, well … The video was shot in August, when Hedlund – who also stars in Tron: Legacy and Country Strong – was filming On The Road with Kristen Stewart. Garrett Hedlund Smokes Up As you can see, Hedlund pulls a lighter and a “cigarette” out of his pocket, lights it, takes two drags and passes it to some girl who happily partakes. It could be any number of legal substances, yes, but you have to wonder … and it’s hard not to draw comparisons to the Miley Cyrus bong video . Hedlund’s rep did not default to salvia, but told TMZ it was surely NOT marijuana, adding, “He would never smoke pot in front of all the paparazzi.” What do you think? Another day, another absurd story from Betty Ford. Lindsay Lohan is a suspect in a criminal battery investigation after getting into a scuffle … in rehab. The Palm Desert Police Department is investigating the altercation, which occurred after Lindsay and her roommates went out to A BAR and came back. Upon arriving at their sober house, the incident with a female staffer allegedly went down. Police were called after a ” hand-to-hand battery ” complaint. NOT MY FAULT! There’s always some excuse. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Cops came to Betty Ford after receiving the call and interviewed both the staffer – who “desired prosecution” – and the oft-troubled star herself. It’s unclear if this was related to Lohan’s rager in rehab this month, but when police finish investigating, prosecutors will decide how to proceed. Whether they file charges is anyone’s guess, but she could be sent back to jail because she’s still technically on probation until August 2011. As for her side of the story, sources close to Lindsay Lohan claim she did NOT strike first, but she did push back in the “physical” altercation. Lindsay is telling people close to her that the drama unfolded when she arrived to the BFC on Dec. 12 roughly ten minutes after her curfew. Lindsay claims the female staff member was “unfairly” scolding her about the situation and demanded the actress take a drug/alcohol test. During the heated exchange that the woman “put her hands on Lindsay.” Lindsay claims she told the woman, “Take your hands off of me.” Then she “pushed back.” Police received a call early that morning, and the star was named as a suspect. The staffer wants LiLo prosecuted. Lindsay feels the staff member had it out for her for a while and believes the staffer may have even been “looking for a final confrontation.” It will be interesting to see this play out, but it’s as if Linds is trying to show we had her low at #8 on our Celebrity of the Year countdown.

Lindsay Lohan and some of her pals had a party in rehab, according to reports . There is NO evidence Lindsay was drinking, but this is still a great story. The train wreck’s roommates had a party a week ago last Saturday night, one in which the booze was flowing and got the girls into a heap of trouble. Staying at a satellite house at the Betty Ford Clinic, Linds and her buds were “drinking heavily” when the Betty Ford peeps found out and busted them. A GREAT SHOT: This is an old Lindsay Lohan photo. It was not taken during the aforementioned party in rehab. Still pretty funny and appropriate, we felt . The roommates were moved back to the main facility, which has more supervision. Later, Lindsay was told she could not leave the area for Christmas . Again, there’s no evidence LiLo was drinking. Let’s be clear there. Just the same, the troubled actress finds herself back at the main Betty Ford facility too, not for punishment, supposedly, but for “intensive therapy.” Extra supervision should help with the stalker situation , too.
