Despite the fact that she got fired, Dina Lohan insists Lindsay Lohan turned down the lead role in Inferno , not the other way around. The reason? She didn’t want to play a porn star drug addict. The producers let her go given her scheduling conflicts (living in rehab indefinitely), but Dina swears it was her call. She just didn’t want the role! Wait, Lindsay Lohan didn’t want to play Linda Lovelace? She’s a natural! “The movie is about a drug addict and porn star. It is hard when you are a serious actor with what she has been through, we don’t need that,” Dina said. Yes, a very serious actor. I Know Who Killed Me? Award-winning stuff. “Lindsay was disappointed but felt it wasn’t right to take that role after what she had been through. She made the ultimate decision,” her mom swears . Although Lindsay won’t be starring as Linda, she will continue to follow her passion for acting and remain in the industry – but only in the right roles. “We are looking at scripts and she’s had a lot of offers. She has two in mind that she likes but we can’t say now what they are,” Dina Lohan teases. “We are doing all we can to take it slow right now.” All kidding aside, Lindsay is finally taking control of her life, taking sobriety seriously and making difficult choices to stay on the path to wellness. The way she turned down Dancing With the Stars was an example of that. She’s not in a rush to get back to work if she isn’t sure she can handle it. We applaud that kind of dedication. But spare us the act, Dina. We realize a movie featuring a coked-up Lindsay Lohan nude may not have been the best comeback project, but she got fired. It’s okay to admit it.

With 2010 drawing to a close, it is with much pride that THG unveils its 10 finalists for its prestigious, Fourth Annual Celebrity of the Year award. The past year was a wreckalicious one for Lindsay Lohan, who used to be an actress at one point. These days, she’s known mostly for … being a disaster. Still, the fact that she defied death and appears to be on the right track at last – she’s been in rehab for months with no end in sight – is worthy of props! If you searched for ” Lindsay Lohan jailed ” from mid-July on, chances are you’d find a THG story. She was locked up this summer for a probation violation. She was then spring, entered rehab, left rehab, failed a drug test, had a warrant issued for her arrest, was briefly jailed and then ordered to rehab again. Through it all, she feuded with her family, was dumped by various partners and producers, stayed out late a lot and pushed her frail body to the limit. She posed nude for more random magazines than we can even recall, stayed up very late, was a terrible influence to her sister and made excuses a lot. We’re so glad she’s still with us and hope that one day soon, she can get back to entertaining more than just celebrity gossip websites (thanks, though). Dancing With the Stars is reportedly a’callin’ and we hope she can answer the bell. It could be her ticket back to success like it has been for others. We’re reported the rumor already, but it looks like Lindsay Lohan is really in talks to be a contestant on the hit show Dancing With the Stars. After what seemed like endless legal problems that landed her in jail and rehab, the ABC hit wants to give LiLo a chance to rehab her image. “Lindsay has been talking with the DWTS people,” a source close to her said. “She is definitely interested and considering being on the show.” We may see Lindsay Lohan bust a move! While the troubled star remains in rehab at the Betty Ford Center, she has the full support of her treatment team behind her for this gig. “Lindsay’s treatment team actually thinks that Dancing With the Stars would be a perfect transition back to work for her,” says the insider. “She would have a set schedule, she would be occupied and would be very productive. Lindsay wanted their approval before proceeding.” She got it, too – it’s a far cry from Lindsay Lohan nude in Inferno – and it could be a good fit. DWTS producers have wanted her for a while. “Dancing with the Stars producers have had Lindsay on their wish list of cast mates for a very long time,” a source tells Radar Online . Not only would she generate a lot of buzz (a la Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin), Lindsay would actually be a tough contender as well! Says a source close to the negotiations: “She would be great on the show; she could maybe even win because she is a great dancer!” Our two editors debated whether she should do DWTS recently.
